Which do you prefer? We can't make up our minds. 3 adults and 2 girls ages 8 and 11.

We prefered 1900 Park Fare Breakfast. We enjoy the characters there, Alice, Tigger, Mary Poppins and the White rabbit.

Both Breakfasts are good, so it comes down to location and characters.

I would give Crystal palace a leg up on food, a small leg up. But we like the characters at 1900 park fare better.

We have 2 Daughters as well, 12 & 13.

Thanks for the advice! I would ask the girls but this is a surprise trip and we are telling them at Christmas and we leave 3 weeks later. I want to make sure we get ADR's so we have to plan now.

While characters are subject to change, 1900 PF breakfast has Pooh and more commonly has the Mad Hatter and not the White Rabbit.

While the food quality at both is pretty decent, we like to go with a late breakfast ADR at 1900 PF. While it is nice to get into MK before opening if you have an early CP ADR to get some pictures without the public and enjoy the empty walk down MSUSA, that is the only thing that is better about CP. We much prefer face characters to masked characters just because we find the interaction much more entertaining and personal. What we like to do with 1900 PF is to get one of the last ADRs for the morning at about 11:15 or so. We usually have a small bite (a pastry or something like that) at the resort before heading out to MK RD. We can usually get a lot done as well as bank a couple of FPs before we head out to "brunch". By the time we get back our FPs are usually in affect so we don't have to wait in line with full tummies.

There's nothing neater than having an early ADR at CP. You get to see Main Street empty and you're ready for rope drop ahead of the crowd.

The food at CP is good and we've had stellar service there. The characters were a fun touch but, frankly, I'd go even without the characters there.:wizard:

Used to be 1900 PF for us. But CP has moved ahead for us the past couple of years.

Character experience is probably better at PF. Food might be slightly better at CP.

We've been doing a before-opening CP for a few years now.

I just ate at both last week. I prefer CP to 1900 PF, just because I like being in MK before RD and I tour commando style. 1900 PF didn't seat us until 8:05am and we had to stuff the food down our throats to make RD at MK by 9 (we made it!). I do, however, really like someone's idea about a later breakfast to make RD at MK! I will def have to try that in the future!

We like both 1900 Park Fair and Crystal Palace the same...both have really great food and service but we give the notch to Crystal Palace only because we like to get an early ADR for before the park opens. However, the characters at 1900 Park Fair are great....we love to interact with the Mad Hatter, he is awesome :goodvibes

I believe you are talking about our late morning "brunch" at 1900 PF. It really works out great. It gives you that mid-day break from touring without having to travel far, it sets you up with some FPs, you still get to see the RD show, and when you get back your still in the middle of lunch time so the lines for the rides you don't have FP for are slightly shorter.

We usually start the morning off by heading to Adventureland (most people head to FL or TL) and we can usually walk-on to just about every ride and by the time we are ready to go we are usually in Liberty Square. Depending on our mood, we will either grab a FP for a dark ride before heading into AL or we grab one for Splash when we pass it and we usually can grab another FP in FL as we are leaving.

More often than not, when we get back to MK we are able to get a FP for Space before using the FPs we got before "brunch". We are usually done with all we really want to see by late afternoon which leaves a lot of time to revisit some favorites or go back to something we may have skipped, walk around MSUSA, have a light dinner and get a spot for a parade if there is one that night.

There aren't too many flaws with this plan. You are really doing MK opposite everyone else in the morning. When everyone ends up hitting the same spot (FL) mid-day you are all set up with a FP or 2 to help counter the crowds. :thumbsup2

We do a brunch at 1900 PF as well! We do it the morning after a late night EMH. We sleep in the next morning and then roll along to 1900 PF for 11ish. It's a nice relaxed way to start the day if you've been up past 2AM the night before!

We've done both, and preferred the Crystal Palace over 1900 PF. I don't really recall a major difference in the food, but we really enjoyed getting into the MK early and walking down Main Street before opening. We also enjoyed the characters better at Crystal Palace - but that is really an individual preference thing.

I didnt care much for CP back in 09 in Nov we have a PF ADR for DD15 bday breakfast( a suprise) I am really looking fwd to it..

We liked both CP and 1900 PF. Pooh and company sure are cute, and it was GREAT to get an early ADR and be inside MK when the park opened. That was a real treat!

The Grand Floridian is so lovely and sophisticated, so your girls might think that was pretty swanky. Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh were all so darling.

Character interaction and atmosphere are about tied in my book. Probably depends on whether you want to start your day at MK and be inside the park or take a little monorail/1900 PF break from the parks for a late breakfast.

Lucky you, you can't make a bad choice! :thumbsup2

We ate at 1900 Park Fare on this trip and CP our last trip, both for breakfast. Hard to say which had the edge...

I think location goes to CP for the convenience of being in the park and actually I liked the space better- brighter to me. I also find that portrait opportunity at 1900 a little cheesy (we passed on it.)

I think food wise, I would pick 1900 Far for its more unique offerings. I really enjoyed the strawberry soup and the lobster eggs benedict and bananas foster sauce for waffles/pancakes/french toast. My husband went for several servings of the salmon locks and accompanying sides. I found the quality and quantity of food good at both, though. And we had a late ADR for 1900, 10:50.

Characterwise, I think I would have to go with 1900 because we like the talking characters a little bit better and there overlap of Pooh and Tigger for the none talking. Alice was great and Mary was quite good. We had a dud for the Mad Hatter which was a little surprising since I had seen such good raves about him on the boards here. My DS even wore his Mad Hatter had and it wasn't even acknowledged by him.

We would return to both of them in the future.

Hope that helps and enjoy.

We prefer 1900 PF over CP because of the incredible character interaction. Very entertaining!!! CP wins for park location... but with the ages of your children the 1900 PF experience might be a better fit.

We have also done both and we prefer 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and CP for supper. We found the character interaction, the decor and the food amazing at 1900 Park Fare. This was one of our son's favourite experiences on our last trip! Have you decided yet?

My daughter is character crazy so we do a lot of character meals.

I agree with the others who suggest a late breakfast at 1900. I think the food is better at 1900 and the characters are great.

I love Crystal Palace though but prefer their lunch to their breakfast.

If you do Crystal Palace I agree with the others who suggest getting a super early adr. Walking down an empty Main Street can not be underestimated.

If the CP breakfast is your only opportunity for an empty Main Street (if you are not doing BBB or CRT) then I would give that an edge over 1900PF.
