Hello all...could use some imput from you guys...we are going on the cruise on 11/30 followed by 5 nights in POR(but I still want to call it Dixie Landings...)and we are attending the MVMCP on 12/10. we called yesterday to get a ressie at the Liberty Tree Tavern but they only had one for 8:45...which was no good since the party will be in full swing....so I went to plan B....Chef Mickey's..but that was just as bad..8:00 and you had to leave the park...so I called this morning and booked a 5:30 at the 1900 Park Fare in the Floridian.....but we have never eaten there...so can I get some imput from you guys regarding the food...quality....characters....good or bad experiences....anything can help....we realize we will be eating non-stop on the cruise....so maybe we should just low key the meals in WDW.....don't know but we would appreciate any imput from all.Thanks....Tom:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :jester: :earsboy: :earseek:

Food excellent, good atmosphere, great character interaction particularly Tigger and Eeyore. Busy, but it was Christmas Eve. The Christmas decorations in GF are beautiful.

We were at 1900 Park Fare in September and it was very good. The food was tastey and hot and there was a large selection. There was a salad bar, carving station, vegetables, pasta and more. There is also a kid buffet section with pizza, mac and cheese, chicken and a few more I can't recall. The atmosphere is great and the characters were wonderful. We didn't wait long for them to come around and they were very good with my daughter. We'll be having dinner here again when we return in May. Go and enjoy!

I love 1900 park fare! It is the only Character Breakfast that has "made to order" omlets... tons of pastries, fresh fruit... the atmosphere is fun you will enjoy it go ahead and try it!!!

Well....I guess it is a go for 1900 Park Fare.....three people responded and all positive....I guess I will just have to give it a try....maybe it can be my new Chef Mickey's...always loved that buffet but it truly has gone a little down hill from what I remember.....but it always is full and crowded.....so who knows....thanks for your imput...anyone else that would like to comment it would still be appreciated....46 days to go to the Magic....and yes, I am counting every one of them....thanks again!

We love 1900! Do NOT miss the desert at dinner -- key lime pie and vanilla bread pudding! :bounce:

The vanilla bread pudding ... now I'm counting down the days until we eat there on 12/8. This is one of our "must dos" every year at WDW. Keep in mind, though, it is alittle noisy with the kaliescope (sp?) playing periodically and all the people. But, the character interaction has always been great for us. And, the food has bee scrumptious. My DH loves the strawberry soup!

...they have a special little buffet for kids. Tiny burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, etc.

Breakfasts are a treat, too, with my favorite babe, Mary Poppins, twirling her parasol in the foyer.

You will go GA-GA over the cruise, too, btw! We did it last fall and loved it. Just me and my wife (no kids). We had a BLAST. Very good food, too.

DO NOT FORGET TO TRY PALO'S!

But that's for another thread...

I guess I have to be the only negative poster. We did 1900 Park Faire before the party and didn't like it. The food was okay, but the buffet area itself was very crowded. There was a long line for the food, and then an even longer line for the monorail going over to the party from the GF. If you can't get a character meal inside the park, I would either skip a big dinner, or eat at the Contemporary (someplace besides Mickeys?) and then you could walk to the MK. Can you get to the MK before they close and maybe eat counter service somewhere? Will they let you stay in the park-I've heard they sometimes do that. What about eating at the Plaza-even though it's not a character meal or possibly Cindy's for dinner-then at least you would be in the park. Sorry, but we did not like 1900 for dinner.

We did 1900 Park Faire for dinner in July also because we couldn't get PS at Chef Mickey's. We were pleasantly surprised. It has become my wife's new favorite. She and I felt that the food there was of a little higher quality than at Chef Mickey's.

The Character interaction was great! Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore came by multiple times during the meal. Eeyore even helped to put my then 5 month old daugher to sleep by stroking her head while my wife rocked her. It was the sweetest thing and luckily we got it all on camera. The characters kept coming back and 'checking' on the baby. They were great. Piglet greeted people in the door way and signed autographs. I don't think you will be disapointed.

We did 1900 Park Faire for the first time in March. 3 adults and one 6 year old. We all loved it. The room is beautiful. The characters spend plenty of time with the guests. And the food was wonderful - fresh, hot and truly gourmet selections. Not general buffet/cafeteria food. We all had plenty to pick from, including my daughter who is fairly picky. And the dessert selections were terrific too. I'd highly recommend it for dinner (never did breakfast so can't comment). I would gladly go back, though on our trip in November we want to try Boma instead.

We just got back from a two week vacation. The fist night in WDW we had dinner at 1900, and we had a GREAT time! The food was awesome, and not crowded at all. We had a 5:15 dinner time. We all pigged out big time! The kids LOVED the kids food. They had hot dogs, hamburgers, nuggests (both fish and chicken), and the desserts are to die for! We loved the chocolate fudge. The kids had rice krispie squares, and make your own cupcakes. We tried Strawberry soup, and their mushroom soup was the best I have ever had! I would definately go again, and oh year the characters were great too! I think you will be ok with the early seating. Have a grea time! And have a piece of fudge for me! LOL

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) Wow...and the great reports just keep on coming....no matter what happens we are definately going to do it.....and it probably will become a major stopping place each and every time we go down to Disney.....and is it possible to walk from Grand Floridian over to the Magic Kingdom....cause I would probably have to agree by the time the monorail gets to the Floridian it will probably be packed...anyway thank you all for your comments...it was appreciated....and any other imput on other favorites you have I would appreciate it since each time we go we are kind of safe people....you know...we have eaten in one place or another and have enjoyed it so we just went back time after time....kind of like staying at POR....we know it there and like it and it is reasonable....thanks again for the imput!

Unfortunately, you can't walk from the GF to the MK. Gotta do the monorail thing. Or, if you don't mind killing time, wander down to the boat dock. The boat goes from the GF to the Poly, then to the MK. If you don't mind the crowds, the monorail is faster.

Excerpts from my reviews:

1900 Park Fare - Our first day we stopped here for the Whinny the Pooh meal. Great time! The character interaction was awesome and the food was outstanding for a buffet type meal. My wife loved and it and the kids were out of their minds over the characters. We ate here twice it was so good.

1900 Park Fare - Back again. This overall was the best value in our opinion. My wife loved the food and the kids love the characters. They had some sort of a large chocolate mousse filled chocolate cake covered with cream. I took a slice and poured vanilla cream all over it. Oink. I mean, "darn that was tasty". If calories were sin we'd be burning right now, friends.
