What is the atmosphere like at the 1900 Park Fare?

Is it bright and loud and tables close together?

or dimmed lighting, booths and large eating areas , private tables?

I was considering eating here on our upcoming trip!

We ate dinner here on June 26th and it was much better than we anticipated. The tables are not squished together. We were a family of four and we were seated at a table for 4. There are numerous sized tables throughout the dining area and they seat you for the size of your party.

There is a buffet table for the kids and another for the adults (although you can eat whatever you want from either - per our waitress).

The character interaction was very good. Prince Charming came to our table three times as each time he stopped by our daughters were up getting something to eat. The characters we saw were Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy and Perla. Goofy was in the waiting area keeping everyone entertained while they waited to be seated.

For a buffet, the noise level was quite low. The food was very good and the characters were very friendly and stopped by at least twice.

I would highly recommend 1900 Park Fare.

After dinner we walked around the Grand Floridian -- it is a beautiful hotel.

We ate there two years ago when the characters were from Winnie the Pooh. If I remember correctly, the decor was bright (whites and yellows stand out in my mind) and cheerful and focused on the early 1900's (as the name states :D ) There wasn't many private booths and the tables were not crowded together (I guess the characters need some room to move around).

We had the prime rib buffet which was very good and the character interaction was great. The only drawback we had was that our kids aren't big eaters so we didn't get our money's worth in food for the price (I think the cost was $16/child). Like Princess'Mom2 said, eating at 1900 Park Fare also gives you the chance to look around the GF resort and dream about living the "high life".

It's a great place for a buffet! Victorian, tables (not that close together) but far from private!

We have had breakfast here twice. Much to choose from.

Alice in wonderland, pooh, eeyore, mad hatter, Mary Poppins (at the door). Very fun!

I am eating dinner at:
Liberty Tree Tavern 2x (dinner the first nite, do u think we should change it? I figured we would at least be in the park already, and would give us more night time park touring)

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO EAT AT LTT? 1 hour??

Also, 1900 Park Fare sounds very nice! :cutie:

I feel very bombarded w/ all the choices to eat and the restrictions on us for our vacation - but i don't want to miss out on good values from disney! and the disney feel, u know?

we ate there friday night and it was a very pleasant experience. the food and decor was nice. the characters were cute. prince charming came over like 3 times to see our princesses. we ordered cinderella's slipper for the girls and the coordinated with cinderella's arrival to the table and it was priceless!

fairytinkerbell - If you have a small group eating at LLT (5 or less) you should get out in under an hour. Larger groups tend to take longer to order, like to talk and linger before paying, and if there a lot of separate checks, takes longer for the waiter/waitress to process the payments.

1900 PF is very close to MK - just hop on the monorail and you're there in a few minutes. You should still have plenty time to tour the park after dinner.

I think you need to set some priorities, and just keep in mind that you can't see/do it all. If I remember correctly from another thread, you're planning to do AK first, head back to your hotel to check in, then back to MK for an 8:00? dinner PS. I think that you won't have time for much else besides dinner, whether it be at LTT or 1900PF, and if you get lucky and there are two Spectros that night, you MIGHT catch Wishes and the second Spectro--that's a LONG day! Just relax and remember to HAVE FUN!

I would consider changing one of the LTT dinners to something else (1900PF or other) if you want to experience more of Disney's restaurants.

We've done 1900 Park Fare twice. Both were great. It's brightly lit, but not "loud" in color. The decor is pretty simple (it's not the castle), but the food and character interaction beats the castle by a mile. The food pleased DH, dd7, dd11 and I. It's much less crowded than the castle as well. It's especially a good meal to do on your day of arrival when you may not be planning to spend the day in a park. I don't know if boys would enjoy as much as girls. Although we've seen prince charming, peter pan, captain hook, smee, and the beast there so boys would probably enjoy too.

Just read on another thread that you're travelling without any children. How about some of the more "adult" choices? California Grill? Narcoosee's? Citricos? Artist Point? Jiko?
