1900 Park Fare for breakfast

I want to take my youngest son along with my sister and her niece to 1900 Park Fare for the breakfast. We were looking for a character meal outside of the parks and since it is scheduled for our Magic Kingdom day, the GF would be most convienient. We are staying at POR, how realistic is it to book a 8:30 breakfast and get there using Disney Transportation? And am I right to think that the men and older boys would prefer to skip the breakfast and get to the parks instead? I would love to hear from anyone who has eaten here and what they think.

you will get there easily via the buses, the characters are great fun so im sure the men would enjoy it as well

I'm a guy, and I loved it. The breakfast is really good, so the men should be fine.

We always drive down and don't have much experience with transportation, but allow enough transit time and you should be fine.
