Has anyone done the princess themed dinner at 1900 Park Fare? If so, is it worth it? I was hoping to get reservations to celebrate my DD's bday at CRT but it's already booked. TIA!

We had dinner at 1900PF in May..I was pleased with it! There was a lot of food to choose from, both adult and child friendly. The strawberry soup is a must-have imo! There were also several choices on the dessert bar, and on top of that we were brought out a massive sundae by our server.

As far as character interaction, I thought this dinner was great. We met Cinderella, Drizella, Anastasia, Lady Tremaine & Prince Charming. Drizella and Anastasia were hilarious! They were so in character and they were a real riot. Prince charming was a big hit w/ my dd (she's 3). Cinderella was very nice as well. Lady Tremaine was in character but she didn't really do much for me (not complaining, there was so much character interaction with the others that it was fine..and it wasn't that she was bad at her character, just that the character herself isn't my cup of tea!).

During the meal, Cinderella & Prince Charming make a grand entrance and they perform a short ballroom dance, then children are invited to join them for a dance.
There was also a little parade later on, which children were invited to join.

We had our anniversary listed on our reservation, and we were given 2 laminated placemats to commemorate the event. We (along with others celebrating) were recognized by the cast members during the meal.

All in all, very impressive and I would love to eat there again!

Here are a couple pics from our meal.

Love at first sight :cloud9:

There was a photo taken before the meal started, we did not buy the package though. If you want a Princess meal that includes a photo package, Akershus (Norway, Epcot) was really nice as well..or there is always CRT. We did all 3 of these meals. Food-wise, I liked 1900PF the best. Character interaction was the best there too, though we did really enjoy Akershus, and CRT is a really great experience as well. I think I would most likely do 1900PF again before the other 2, but you really cannot go wrong with any of them!

We ate dinner at 1900 last June and had a great time. We were a party of 4 adults and had done Crystal Palace a couple days earlier and I was the only one remotely interested in the characters - we left before they even all came around. The characters at 1900 were so funny and great at interacting that even my grouchy FIL enjoyed interacting and getting his picture taken with them.

I've done this dinner several times and have been extremely pleased with it every single time! The first time was the best I think, as far as Anastasia and Drizella's energy level and hilariousness. They were trying to hook to people up from across the room!!! (they ended up hugging!) It's a super cute meal and the food is always great! Suitable for everyone!

We have this booked for dinner and I can't wait! I was planning on DD wearing her Rapunzel dress but I think we'll bring her Cinderella dress and have her wear that. It looks like a lot of fun!

we ate there and liked it,, while it isn't dining in the castle it still is a good meal.

We have done this dinner twice. The first time the food seemed better, but still adequate and enjoyable the second time. The character interaction is great- we visited with Cinderella, Prince Charming, the step-sisters, Lady Tremaine, the fairy godmother. Nice pictures and interaction.

Akershus is also a nice princess themed meal, and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner availability. When we were there we saw Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, Aurora, Snow White, and Belle. I know they are not always all there at the same time, but that day they happened to be so we were lucky! It has an interesting choice of foods also.

Hope you have a great time with your princess!:goodvibes

Just ate there this week LOVED IT!

The food was good, better than most buffets. We were all happy with that. I was very full when I left. We also stepped out to watch the water parade and just enjoy the ambiance of the Grand Floridian when we were done.

The character interaction was GREAT. Those sisters and mom were spot on. The prince was totally charming and was trying to start a conversation with my star struck 4.5 year old DD. She was mesmerized. Cindy was good, but the least of our faves. The sisters won over my DD she said she thought they were funny. Ask them why they ripped Cinderella's pink dress off her!

Our reservation was 7:45 on a Wednesday. We took our time and were leaving when the restaurant was half empty. I think if you can go late you get LOTS of character time. My DD was in heaven when Prince charming looked at her and held out her arms to dance......the smile on her face when he twirled her was priceless. I seriously got a tear!

Our plan had been to go to CRT for lunch, but at the last minute our mom daughter trip got changed as my friend's son broke his arm so he had to come with us. CRT had no room for a 5th person on our reservation so we changed to 1900 PF....I am so glad we got to go there, we had a blast!

I was a little miffed at the selling of the photograph of you in front of a painted wall scene, come on Disney, its NOT a cheap meal and we were paying OOP not DP. At least at Akerhus you get a pic with Belle and its included! Did a lunch there last year.

If you have a Cinderella fan, you will love 1900PF...our girls did and she is not either one's favorite princess. I am so happy we ended up there!

weve done dinner twice and breaky once there. imo for character interaction- waaaaay better than crt, but we will book crt for dd as long as she likes, its her vacay too is how i see it.

we did crt in 09 for our anniversary dinner- yeah romantic! lol and i surprised hubby with a cake. the kids were 4 and 2 and didnt really get into it much. but it was still a great experience for us.

in may i went and took the kids with a friend as hubby couldnt make it. this was by far the best character times weve had at any of the restuarants! drizella ended up engaged to ds now 4 and danced him across the restaurant and then planted a kiss on him. after that she brought him back and now dd is going to be their maid. we were in stitches the entire meal. the new sundae dessert they bring to the table was awesome!! i didnt realized they added that until everyone else was getting them too, but it was so yummy!

i agree the strawberry soup is a must try, but dont fill up on it as its very rich! weve booked this again for our christmas trip. cant wait!

These comments are so great, thanks everyone! I just booked our reservation for my DD's bday at 7:45. I think this will be one she'll never forget.

One question: if the Magic Kingdom closes at 7:00 that day will that give us enough time to get over to make our reservation? I'm not sure how close the Grand Floridian is.

Thanks again! :)

rule of thumb is to plan for an hr travel time if you need to get anywhere. while in fact the gf is very very close, the monorail stop rite before the mk actually, if the park is closing at 7 that means everyone will be leaving the same time. so i'd aim for 630-645 departure. you then have the option of taking a boat to the gf- which can be slow and lines up fast, or the monorail. the monorail then goes to the contemp, ttc and poly before stopping at the gf. and if wishes is at 7 that nite, it will be crowded on main street with everyone sitting down to watch them. going through the stores to get out usually helps to navigate the crowds. also fromtime to time the monorail does stop if they get to close to the one in front. it usually doesnt take long for this to fix itself but i have been on it, this close to the contemp for ressies in the rain and it flat out stop for a few minutes.

also make sure you stop in city hall in the mk to get her her happy birthday button!

DH & I went to 1900s and had a blast. If you can, get the sisters to sing "Nightingale". It is so bad that it is great! We were pleasantly surprised with the food and made ADRs for this October to take friends over there.

You can either monorail over to take the boat launch. It is a short ride over but give yourself 45 minutes especially with park closing.

Enjoy!

We have been there 3 x and love it! Now it's on our " must eat there list" for every trip to Disney!

The characters here are great-probably my favorite character interaction. I think we might have gone on an off-night though because I didn't love the food. We went early around 5 and it didn't seem like everything was out yet or something :confused3 I would try again though just for the step-sisters :goodvibes

The character interaction was awesome but the hour wait past our adr time and the horrible food made it not worth it at all
