We'll be in WDW with my nephews in August 2010. The oldest will be 3 and the twins will be 16 months. We are thinking about 1900 Park Fare for one of our dinners.

The rest of the travel party consists of grandpa/grandma, mom/dad, and aunt (me). The adults in the group are WDW veterans, but the only character meal we've ever done is Crystal Palace. The 3 yo would love to eat "at the Castle" - as would the rest of us - but we really don't think that the twins will be old enough for that on this trip. We figured 1900 Park Fare might be a good alternate option.

Would this be odd for a group where all the kids are little boys? Have any of you done this with your little guys? If so, was it a hit or a miss?

We haven't done it yet, but we do have an ADR for out upcoming trip! :cool1: I planned many of our character meals with the four year old (a boy) specifically in mind. I am sure it will be entertaining for boys or girls!

I'm going to steal my reply from a similar thread -

The food at 1900 PF was good, there were lots of yummy choices, but the character interaction was out of this world!

DD2.5 wore her Cinderella dress and received many compliments and lots of commentary (from the Tremaine Ladies) but what really put it over the top for us was how involved they got with DS4!

I had read on the boards of a boy giving the step sisters plastic rings, so I picked up a few at the party store. DS gave a ring to all ladies at the dinner. Cinderella loved it and gave him a kiss. Lady Tremaine (who was actually very nice, only behaved a bit snooty) accepted it but wished for something bigger. The sisters went over the top about the rings!

When the time for the waltz came, Cinderella walked directly to DS and asked for the first dance! The whole evening was magical!

We asked to be seated in the center (thanks SAH95 for this good advice). We were seated near the buffet and ended up being the 2nd table all characters stopped at! They often said Hello again on their way back in for their break. We were finishing up dessert when they went through their second round of introductions and said Hello again and if my kids interacted with them, they stopped to spend time with them.

And OT- the Glass Slipper dessert was worth pre-ordering and the $15!
Here are just a few of the 30 pics we took!

This is my son's FAVORITE character meal! Last year he dressed as Prince Charming and got a TON of interaction and we have gone since then and still the characters are great!!!!

I booked 1900 PF on the advice of my SIL. They went in July and her 5 yo son loved it. She said the interaction with the step-sisters was wonderful and that it was a great meal to start their stay a Disney. I have honestly yet to read any "bad for boys" reviews and I have read a TON of dining reviews.

Mrs D. ... thanks for reposting your reply to this thread. :goodvibes Your photos are so cute! Thanks for mentioning that Lady Tremaine was just snooty and not downright mean (another current thread mentions that she was scary, which had me a bit worried). I can totally see my nephews being okay with snooty - they're little charmers by nature and would just keep smiling 'til she smiled back! The ring idea is a very good one!

mom2my2gr8kids ... I never thought about the idea of boys dressing up as Prince Charming. Where did you get his costume? I could see the 3yo maybe wanting to do that - lately he's been looking at family photos where people are really dressed up (such as his parents wedding) and saying things like "Mama, you look like a beautiful princess". :) Not sure if Sis and BiL would go for dressing the boys as princes, but it's definitely something to pass by them.

MSLRAC ... thanks for the reassurance that you haven't come across any "bad for boys" reviews in your research. :thumbsup2

We went for my daughter but my boys had a great time. They were 10 and 6 at the time. The stepsisters really did it for them. They were hilarous. My son, 10, also kissed Cinderella's hand and was asked to waltz with her. He was very embarassed but was a good sport about it.

We would do it again!

We went to 1900 Park Fare dinner for the first time in June09 with DS4 and DS7. They have never seen the movie Cinderella, they have seen all the Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Spiderman movies though. I told them that the stepsisters and their mother were pretty funny and crazy. They weren't sure what to expect.

They thought Prince Charming and Cinderella were pretty boring. But they LOVED the craziness of the stepsisters. The girls made silly jokes, were yelling at each other ("Mother, Drizella put dust bunnies under my bed again!!"), they talked about how fun the stepsisters were the whole trip!!

The food is just OK quality wise and I didn't think their buffet had a wide range of offerings, but it was OK.

We enjoyed the meal and I'm glad we did it.
