We are taking quick trip in December for three nights 12/12-12/15. I'm thinking we might try this breakfast since it's one of the only character meals that we haven't done before. I think my kids will love Alice and the Mad Hatter. I'm trying to decide on when to go:
1: Arrival day- flight gets in at 8:00am so I'm thinking an ADR for 11:00 or later and then head to MK. Our plans for that day are MK, break and check in hotel, and EP for Illuminations.
or
2: Departure Day- flight leaves at 7:30pm so we'd most likely get Magical Express around 4:30. I'm thinking breakfast earlier and then head to MK for our last few hours.

Please critique my plans and/or offer and suggestions or advice! Thanks.

Option 1 won't work if there's any kind of delay (which is very possible.)

Go for option 2.

Of those two options I would go with Departure day just because if your plane is delayed for any reason you will miss it on arrival day. Since you are flying in December delays are possible depending on the weather, not just in Orlando or even where you are flying from, but if there is a major storm anywhere in the US you may end up with a delay.

i agree, go with departure day. no need to stress about whether or not you'll make it on time. you would be charged if you had to miss it.

Delays!!! How did I not think of that? I'm coming from NJ where we've had an average of 5 snow days the last few years. Definitely going with departure day. Thanks for the quick replies.

I would definitely do option 2. First it is a great way to end your Disney vacation and second you never know what kinds of delays or mishaps that could happen on arrival day. I try to stay away from doing any sort of TS restaurant soon after landing, however, for dinner that would be a different story. Also, I just want to say that 1900 Park Fare breakfast is one of our favorite character meals....the Mad Hatter is awesome, especially if he gets into it with Alice, and the food is really good. Enjoy.

We have a tradition of doing 1900PF for breakfast on our departure day, either flying home or leaving to Universal. It's a great way to end the trip and gives you just a little bit more magic. Plus, it's more relaxing when you don't have a big list of attractions to do.
