I have really been seeing some BAD 1900 PF reviews I was thinking of doing this on our next trip for DD to see the Cindyella gang... but having second thoughts... what are your thoughts... we are planning on the Askerhaus breakfast and I am debating about CRT (we did lunch here in 08 and thought the food was just OK - but DD was thrilled to see Cindy)

HELP... :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

We will be on the Dulx Dining Plan

Hi,

I will give you the same advice I give everyone (and most people ignore me!!!):

If the menu appeals to you, why not give it a try? Who cares what anyone else says? Everyone's taste is different...and many people tend to post reviews only when they have something negative to say.

Enjoy your trip!

GOOD POINT BOB!!!! :)

We love it and are going for breakfast and dinner this trip!

Check it out! The buffet food is pretty much the same everywhere.... just with little differences. Enjoy!

We LOVED the Breakfast buffet there which we attended last week. The ambience was nice and character interaction was perfect. The food was awesome too. I am not sure about the dinner one as I have not done it but I think it will be good too. We are surely doing this one again if we go again in future.
On other hand, we were not too impressed with Akershus. It was ok for one time. Would not repeat it.

We had dinner at 1900 Park Fare on January 12th, and it was fantastic. Good fun, great character interaction, top-notch service....so much fun!

I say if it interests you, go and enjoy. Previous bad experiences by other posters does not necessarily mean your meal will not be everything you hope for. :goodvibes

We have an ADR for 1900 Park in April, and I've also read the bad reviews. But I've decided we need to give it a try. I'm not a big fan of buffets anyway, so it's really the character interaction we're looking for. I love the GF, and to me the stepsisters look like so much fun! All restaurants get both good and bad reviews, so give it a try, you may end up loving it!:goodvibes

Been here for breakfast & dinner and had great food & a great time.

We've eaten there breakfast and dinner and enjoyed both. Some of the best characters are here you rarely see elsewhere (Mad Hatter at breakfast, stepsisters and Prince Charming at dinner, etc..). And for me, the strawberry soup alone is worth the trip!!

I saw that Strawberry soup on the menu and was like mmmmm that sounds yummy... :) :rolleyes1 I think we might do this and skip the castle and save the credit... we did the castle last trip and though meeting Cinderella was fantastic Ididnt think the food was good at all... and if DD can see Cinderella and her family she would probably prefer that as we saw several of the princesses several times and she was saying "that wasnt the real snow white she was at breakfast"

we havae gone for dinner the past 3 years (all in may). although the character interaction is GREAT, the food this past may 08, did not hold up tp the standards we had seen in the previous years. the selection was not as varied and those food not as tasty. not sure if we will be going back this april when we are in disney again. i think we are going to give chef mickey a try.

I have done dinner there the last 3 years. It is one of our favourites. I thought the food was wonderful and the strawberry soup was a big hit with the kids! Charater interaction is the best.

Great food and great entertainment. Don't waste 2 credits on CRT - we hated it! The only reason it is 2 credits is for the photos and wands they give the kids - just go buy those and save that credit!

We did dinner there last year. The service was wonderful and I would go again just to see the stepsisters. They are probably the best character interaction we had. The food was just ok. Not the worst at a buffet but not the best. We also did lunch at CRT last year and I was prepared for the worst since we had dinner there previously and was not impressed. Lunch was great as were the princesses. We would do lunch again at CRT. I'm done with Norway. We did it 3 times and everytime waited over 45 minutes past our ADR, the princesses were rushed, it was loud and just not enjoyable.

I agree with Bob 100%.

Our last trip, Biergarten, Play-N-Dine breakfast and Chef Mickey's were getting hammered in the reviews... to the point I almost switched my ADR's. As it turns out we loved all three and will be doing all of them in June.

We never did 1900 Park Fare but are going to try it this time too.

My personal view on these reviews is that many folks have expectations that are just too high. Granted, when you are dropping almost $30/meal you expect something, but it is a buffet and some of that cost is for the whole character experience.

For example, I can't count how many times I see on these boards something like..."Blah, it was just a burger" if someone was eating at a counter service place. Well... what does one expect? Don't get the burger if you didn't want it!

At the buffets like Chef Mickey's or 1900 Park Fare, there are usuall so many things from which to choose that everyone finds something. I usually reserve my opinions for things like cleanliness, was the service good, how was character interaction, etc. Remember it is a buffet and it is tough to keep things fresh, but they generally do a good job.

If in doubt, do the breakfasts because they are always good, although that won't help us at 1900 Park Fare if you want to meet Cinderella like my daughter does.

By the way, the Epcot princess breakfast was AWESOME. That is one we will never miss again, even when our daughter is all grown up!

Haven't been there yet but we have ADRs for breakfast and dinner on the same day as a matter of fact. :rotfl2: April 1st. Looking forward to it!

We did the 1900 PF dinner and the Princess Breakfast last month, tons of pics and full reviews are in my Jan link.

The 1900 PF has excellent character interaction but the food was so horrible, we all left hungry and DH was very irritated that we paid so much, had to wait and hour past our ADR only to be served terrible food.

The Princess Breakfast was incredible, from food to characters all four of us were very very happy..this was the second time we have taken the nieces to this breakfast and the second time it was a huge hit!

We really like 1900 Park Fare. I love the asparagus soup. The character interaction is great especially the stepsisters and stepmom. My kids are somewhat picky but found several items to eat.

Princess storybook breakfast is great. I get a little aggravated that they keep setting us to left EVERY time. We ask for the main dining room but never seem to get it. The good thing is we are sitting at the door where the princesses come out. The princesses have always been great with my daughter.

I agree with the pp. Go for what you like and try it. There are several places I have tried that people just love. We have given them a couple tries and just don't want to go back. (coral Reef mainly love the atmosphere food is ok but not to our liking)

We went last September. It was THE favorite for everyone in our group (Nana & Papa, myself, dh, and our 2 girls, then 2yo and 5.5yo) - both in terms of character interaction AND food. We had a great meal and a great time. It is on our MUST list for this December too!

We had good character interaction but the food was terrible when we dined there for dinner in September, 2008. What's worse is that there is just an weird food smell that fills the waiting room and the restaurant, that is very off-putting and that I've not enountered at any other Disney restaurant. However, again, the character interaction was fun, but now that we've done it, I have no desire to ever dine there again.
