$19.99 Area Rugs at Menards - great for dorm rooms

We have a DD going off to college in a few weeks.

Today - we went to Menards, and DD found a 5'x7' area rug for $19. It is perfect for a dorm room.

So - just thought I would toss it out here - in case anyone else is looking for one too. They had "plain beige-striped" area rugs for $15 too.

I just heard an advertisement on the radio that Menards is having an 11% off rebate on total purchases this week. You might find other dorm room stuff (shelving, closet organizers, etc.) there too.

Excited...would be an understatement. I just hope I don't get when we are on campus. Or at least - maybe there will be a mom or two worse than me.

Our DD was thrilled about the rugs. Let's face it - for the cost - they aren't super luxurious. We hadn't seen anything for less than $50 all summer. We leave August 17th -so just a few days later than your DD.

Got some fun news yesterday - DD's roommate is in the orientation session that is the 3 days before move-in, and those freshman move into their dorms on Wednesday (8/15). DD can't move in unitl 8/18 at 8am. So since roomie will already be moved in, with keys etc, we are hoping to at least get the futon out of the van Friday night. Then we can pick up the fridge (will be pre-ordered from Walmart) Friday night. This will make move-in infinitely easier, with only 1 trip to campus while 2500 other people are moving in to the dorms too.
