So, if we are planning on going to WDW Sept 12 - 18, 2010, would I make ADR's on March 16, 2010? I think I counted that back right. My DH laughed at me for already looking over things to do and where to eat and where to stay, but I like being prepared.
Also, don't you get to adr a few days ahead if you have the Disney Visa?

I think I read a post somewhere where someone goes for a late breakfast and also gets lunch items. I told DH we could eat breakfast in our room and lunch and dinner somewhere else, but he said NO, you eat out when on vacation. I don't think there is anything wrong with eating your first meal of the day in your room a couple times, then go for a late lunch in one of the parks.

I think it can work either way. There is nothing wrong with eating in your rooms, you are right. And many people use their snack credits to get breakfasty type stuff either in the morning in their food court or the night before for the next morning if you are doing the regular ddp (or paying OOP if you are skipping the plan). One thing you could do would be to bring some easy to pack stuff like granola bars, etc for just in case, but let dh have his way and buy or use snack credits for stuff in the mornings. Also, breakfasts are generally cheaper than lunches and dinners, he could run down to the food court and buy a breakfast OOP.
Alternatively, you could plan on buying 3 meals a day or doing the deluxe dining plan. That seems to work well for people who either need/want 3 real meals a day or who want to do 2 meals and make one of them almost always a 2 credit signature meal.

Also, you are right that sometimes people hit the end of a breakfast buffet and get some breakfasty foods and some lunch foods in one meal. I've definitely read about that too.

Having a Disney Visa has absolutely no perks when it comes to making ADRs, during free dining or any other time. The only perk to having a Disney Visa in reference to the Free Dining promo is that in the past you have been able book three days before the general public gets the offer. September 2010 is over 2 years away, who knows what kind of changes could happen by then!
