I really wish they would get rid of ADR's. I hate trying to think of where I want to eat in six months. So I just winged it. Because this is a family vacation we had to think of the kids and try not to drag them around to fancy restaurants and out of the parks to long. So I did the best that I can. Wanted to do more signatures but DW said we need to remember we have three kids (5, 7, 10) too :confused3:lmao:

Anyway for now, I guess I'm okay with my selections. Might just cancel some and try some walk-ups but didn't want to go without any reservations and get skunked.

Sorry no real point to this post, just hate 180 ADR's because I don't know if I like my selections or not :confused3

I know how you feel. I have made ADR's for several differant places and times on the same day thinking that as I get closer to my arrival I can cancel the ones I know I won't use.

I would imagine that I am not the only person to do this which is why so many people have no luck getting the dates and times they want.

On the other hand, when I cancel the ones I will not use some procrastinators will find the ADR of their dreams.

We don't think of it as 'what will we have a taste for in 6 months?'. We make the reservations and then the trip comes, and we wake up that morning, we have that restaurant to look forward to that day. So I would just pick places you like or want to try. And have fun! :thumbsup2

I agree too. Gone are the good old days when you could actually walk up to a restaurants without an ADR and get in.

You have to plan, plan, plan. And re-plan. Then plan again!! :rotfl:

Also, I wish they would get rid of free dining -- IMO it totally ruins the dining experience and makes the prices go higher and higher. I never get the dining plan.

I'll be down the exact dates as you. Enjoy your trip!!! :)

Can I get a AMEN! (In regards to getting rid of FD.)

I guess I shouldn't complain, it's just so hard to decide this far out. I miss the days where you could wonder around and say "That sounds really good, let's eat there tonight." You know what I mean??

We are doing AP's this year and will be also using the TIW card. I did the calculations of ordering meals and it came out cheaper to go TIW than dining plan. Our 10 year old made the DP option $$$.

Enjoy your trip too and pray for excellent weather. Really looking forward to yet another magical Disney vacation. Will be celebrating my little princess's 5th birthday.

I think booking ADR's at 180 days is all part of the excitement and countdown to holiday :cool1:
I love planning, so setting up an itiniery for each day, and planning which restaurant to enjoy an evening meal is fun. However I dont think I could cope with having to book lunches if on the DxDDP!! that would be too much!!
I agree with comments that its great to wake up and know where you will be that evening and not having to try and find somewhere to work, but know a table will be waiting at our preferred place.

That's how I'm trying to look at it, and I will have a blast but just something that you have to PLAN so far in advanced. Look at me.......complaining when I will be going to WDW!!

I like your way of thinking!

Personally, I don't mind having to do dining reservations 6 months out. I have known where I wanted to go way BEFORE that deadline. I've been looking at menus for a year already picking my restaurants. So, I LOVE that it is so far out because I can get what I want pretty easily.

To me, it's not a question of "what do I feel like tonight?" I know the type of foods I enjoy and most restaurants have plenty of options so if you don't feel like one thing, there will be something else on the menu that sounds good.

Okay, I admit, it does get the juices flowing thinking about being back in our happy place. I..... I just made some breakfast ADR's.........Okay I have a problem but I am still in the denial phase

It's Monday, I need something to complain about.

I agree! We do the same thing. We figure out which parks we're going to each day and then tie in the ADR's. Or sometime's the ADR's drive where we'll go each day. We love researching the restaurants, checking out the menus and planning out where we want to eat. Making ADR's and setting up our itinerary is half the fun of going to Disney!

:lmao:

Sweetheart... we all have problems here! Stop denying it! Admit you love it! :rotfl:

I see it all as a part of the trip. To me, it gets us so excited to look at our schedule and what we will be doing. Laughing as we recall memories of our last trip. Thinking of all the new things we will see and do and all the new foods we will eat. It's all a part of the fun!

HELP

Can you make multiple ADR's for the same time? In different parks?
It doesn't look like the park hours will be out at the 180 +10 day mark?

We arrive on 12/1.

TIA for helping a girl out.

December hours are posted on the travel agent site.

As for making multiple ADRs that is a REALLY REALLY hot topic on these boards. The prevailing thought is that it is not a good thing to do... and I will leave it there.

That's us exactly! I like having my vacation planned out in advance...we find it much easier to sit back & enjoy when we know it will be an interesting mix of old favorites & new choices....rides, restaurants, hotels, etc. We plan in advance & it's been great every trip. We've worked our way through almost all of the Disney restaurants. To me, it just adds to the trip-planning and anticipation-fun. We look at going to a new restaurant same as going on a new ride or seeing a new parade or show there. It's all good.:thumbsup2

I was trying to act tough, as a 33 man :cool2: I'm not suppose to get excited about all the details. Plus I've been many times!

Oh heck, if you can't beat them, join em!:dancer:
