My daughter has a fall birthday so she will turn 18 at the start of her senior year. Will she be allowed in the teen club for our Spring Break cruise??? If not she will be very bummed! What are her options? Seems like she gets cheated.

No, she will not be allowed. The Vibe does not allow 18 year olds. There are no exceptions due to liability reasons. There is an 18-21 group that has meets set up. If she's interested in that then she needs to go to the first meet scheduled in the Navigator because if there isn't interest then they don't keep scheduling events.

The upside to 18 is that she will be allowed in the adult pool areas, the spa, and Palo and Remy.

Ha Ha Ha - I went and told her the news and her reply was "I don't care . . ." and when I said there could be a 18-21 group she thought that was great! Go figure. Guess the idea if being 18.5 with a bunch of 14-16 year-olds wasn't appealing.

Maybe I'm missing something?
Did you ask her if she cared before your first post?

I'll just point out that, if she's interested in this group, it's important that she attend the first night's meeting. That's when the group sets up what activities they would like to do during the cruise, so the CM facilitating the group can get things set up.

It's interesting... My children were called regularly in the cruise saying it's not to late to join, and it seemed many children didn't go the first night.

They said you can come a join and plan activities. - personal experiences from my children.

I'm not sure when you last had a child in the 18-21 group but from our experience on our EBTA last May, it didn't work that way. It seems to depend on the CM hosting the group as well as the make up of the group. The group DD was in did a lot of their planning on the fly. The only thing set up was the meeting place each night and then the group would decide what to do.

They also had quite a few kids who joined later and many times they would go out a look for others their age to come join them. DCL is strict about the ages, though. One young lady turned 18, 3 days before the cruise ended and she was booted out of the Vibe and sent to the 18-21 group that night.
