18% Gratuity question/ group of 6

We are going to WDW November 2008. We have decided not to do the ddp this time. Since we are a group of 6, is the 18% automatically added to our check? I know if you are on the ddp, they will add it, but I am not sure if they add it if you aren't on the ddp.

Does the automatic 18% tip on groups of 6 or larger apply to buffet restaurants as well (not on the DDP)? My husband tends to tip more than 18% for average service at a full service restaurant, but with a group of 10, paying 18% when iti buffet service seems high.

All TS meals with 6 or more (or any size party with DDE) will have an 18% gratuity added. Buffets are considered TS meals

And even if you ask for separate checks, if the total party is six or more they will add the gratuity.

Yikes! I know servers work hard. But having to leave $45-$50 for someone to bring drinks and occasionally swing by to take away dirty dishes is too much.
