I am totally cool with a Facebook group as well. I know alot of people don't like the disboards format and are more familiar with FB and I know others like that Disboards is a little more secure... Do you want to initiate a FB or do you want me to?? I love FB personally and I don't mind having both and being active on both. Last cruise we also set up a yahoo group so we could share spread sheets, FE lists, Pictures Etc.... Would anyone like to do that too?

I'm okay with a FB group. I actually like to be active on both FB and here on the Dis.

I know we are almost a year and a half away from our cruise, but has anyone thought about where they will be staying the night before the cruise? We usually stay in Port Canaveral, and have in the past stayed at the Radisson at the Port, leave our car (we drive from Louisiana), and take their shuttle to the Port. I was thinking this time of parking at the Port and have heard of some hotels offering a Port Parking/Cruise package with 40% off of Port parking. So I am undecided about where we will stay. At least I have plenty of time to think about it!

Haa Haaaaa... I was just looking this info up when you sent this.... Last year we stayed at Patrick AFB and paid for parking but I think there are better/cheaper options out there.... Staying at Patrick was nice but the rooms really aren't any better than your average motel.... Let us know if you find any deals or heck maybe we can scour the hotels for a group discount rate and get a bunch of us together the night before :) The Country Inn and Suites is the closest (so I have read) But their packages are $189 that I saw which is not terrible but would be about the same as staying on base...

Maybe we could call them and see about a group discount rate for a park and cruise... what do you guys think?

So in looking at the room choices and parking, we will probably stay on base at Patrick again... and park at the off site parking lot parkportcanaveral.com which is about half the price of the regular port. its $8 per day, Someone said they offer discounts on that site throughout the year so I might keep checking...

If we do this, I think we will drive to the Port in the morning and drop off our main bags with the porters... then park and ride their shuttle :)

Hi tigerlilly....I sent a request to join the FB group. I plan on participating here and also in the FB group, but no the Yahoo group. Two groups are enough for me. I am always here on the DisBoard and also on FB, usually every day. I will try to help cross share information between these two groups.

Sounds good... The yahoo group will be mainly just used to share files, FE list and sign up for the meet a greets... but I can add people to the lists that don't want to get a yahoo account.

I have decided to initiate a 1st day meet and greet again. Last year I called Disney and they set us up with a 2:30-3:30 time slot in the D-Lounge and it was perfect since it was private and the time seemed to work for everyone too :)

The sign up sheet is just a formality of course so I can let DCL know an estimate of how many people we are expecting... Everyone will be welcome whether they are signed up or not :)

We are in for the Meet & Greet (my DD and myself). If you can get the D-Lounge, that would be great. If we can't reserve it, last year on the Fantasy we met right outside of the Vista Lounge on Deck 4. No need to reserve. It's an open area with lots of chairs, sofas, tables directly across from Shutters. Worked out really good for us. We first wanted the D-Lounge but then found out that Disney has something scheduled there for the time we wanted to meet, so then changed our meeting to the Vista Cafe area. We had plenty of space and there were a lot of people at the meet.

Hi everyone, we have just swithced our dummy cruise to this one! We have been rebooking every year since we sailed on Wonder in October 2010, the flights from Scotland have got so expensive that we have postponed every time!! The propect of losing our onboard booking discount if we don't sail by
November 2015 combined with a special birthday for me next year has decided us to go for it - and worry about the flight cost later!! We are me (49), DH (47), DD (15) and DD (10) and are already SO excited for the cruise. Joining us will be my American cousin and her family so it will be extra special!! My girls definately want to do the FE, they loved that last time and we still have lots of the beautiful gifts we got around the house

:welcome: ScottishMummyof2 to you and your family (including your American family). We also are so excited for this cruise. We are undecided about flying because of the cost. We have driven in the past (it is about a 10-11 hour drive), but doable. Will decide once it gets closer and can see what the airfare is at that time.

Welcome Scottish Mummy :) We are so pleased to have you with us for this adventure. We also have a Facebook and Yahoo Group. You can find the link for these on my very first Roll Calll post. The Facebook was started for the convenience of some and the Yahoo Group will be where you will find documents, photos and sign up spreadsheets...

Happy Planning

That's fine with me. I will try to help keep up with everything. Of course, we are just getting starting now, but I'm sure as time goes on, there will be a lot more people joining and a lot more to keep up with. I hope we have an active talkative group.:goodvibes

Added a Meet and Greet event for boarding day on the FB page. At the moment, we don't have a specific time or place, but once our cruise gets closer, we can determine those.

We are so excited to be going on our first cruise ever. We are from Australia, and looking forward to our vacation next year. When we sail, there will be Me, DH, DS(12), DS(10), DD(8), DD(7), DS(5) DS(2) and my Mum is coming with us too. I am very interested in doing the FE also. I think my kids would love that. Now we just have to keep saving money to pay for this trip.

:welcome: to you and your family!! You all will love the Disney Fantasy cruise. There is so much to do for all ages. Or you can do nothing!! That's what so great about it. Your meals are prepared, you don't have clean the kitchen, and your room is also kept nice and tidy by your stateroom host/hostess. Look forward to chatting with you as time goes by until our cruise.

Welcome... We are excited you joined us and all the way from Australia!!
Our last cruise on the Fantasy was the first Disney Cruise for us but we have been on several others and by far Disney was the best. One of the things My husband and I liked about the Disney cruise is you can bring your own alcohol in your carry on... The other cruises don't let you because that how they make their money.

Check out the Yahoo Group listed in the first post of this thread. That's where you will sign up for the FE exchange and other meet ups, once you are a group member you will find the spreadsheets for FE and Meet ups under database, files will have deck plans, practice sheets for Animators palate and other planning tools
Happy planning

Hey all. I moved this cruise to this date after booking a dummy. At the time of cruising we will be me, DW, DS (11), DS (10), and DS (2). We are from Noblesville, IN and have been on many Disney Cruises. This will be number 12 for me. I am pretty sure we are in for the FE. We are excited for this cruise because we love the Fantasy, have never been to Falmouth, and usually travel spring break instead of Fall break. I will join the FB page soon and try and keep up with the group.

Hi Everyone! I'm Ray, and my DW Christal and I will be celebrating our 4th anniversary on this trip! We've done the Magic twice before she was renovated and are excited to see how much is different on the Fantasy. I'll be spending most of my time on the FB group, but will pop in here from time to time. We've never done the FE, but it sounds like it can be a good time.

We're from Southern CT, about 10 minutes from Yale University and will be either flying down a day or two in advance or staying a day later for MNSSHP (hopefully!).

Normally, we go to Disney World every year in September. My company hosts a conference in Orlando so we get a good vacation in around that. DW has been an annual passholder for the past 5 years, and we splurged on the Premier Passport so we could visit friends in Huntington Beach.

Look forward to meeting everyone!:thumbsup2
