I am finally home with power!

It was a full week for us...but I hesitate to complain for three reasons....one, over 300,000 people are still without power from the same ice storm and I really feel badly for them. Second, our power was restored in only half the time it took to come back on after the last ice storm (yes, that made it 14 days with no power for our family during the last big ice storm (back when
Stitch was still a toddler). And third, I HAVE POWER!!!! I am too busy doing the happy dance over our heat, lights and hot water to stop and be grumpy.

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. Although we didn't have the time of our lives camping out in our family room (running only our electric fireplace and lights and having only bottled water to drink/brush teeth with) it was far from awful. We made the best of it and ended up having a lot of fun. We saw a few movies (we tried to stay out as late as possible to keep us all from going stir crazy), ate out a ton (I didn't want to fire up the grill to make dinner when the temperatures were so low), did a lot of shopping (again, it kept us out of our dark/cold house), read The Jungle Book out loud together, listened to our Ipods and had fun snuggling up together.
Dh and I both agreed that we would like to enjoy a 'black out' again...without the actual power outage. Just hole up with the boys and enjoy spending time together.

It was sort of fun (minus running up to freezing cold bathrooms when the need arose). It was not easy though. That's why we abandoned the idea of riding it out on Friday night and headed for the light/heat/fresh water at his parent's house.

It was MUCH more fun to hang out in a home where you could turn on the lights and find drinkable water.
It is the most fun to be back home and be able to do those things here. I am so very happy to be home. We have days worth of clean up to do in our yard BUT...it really could have been much worse and after working outside in the cold...we now have a warm house to return too!
