17 Days of Wishes Come to Life- A Sept. 08 WDW and DCL Adventure 3/27 new link posted

Wonderful updates! I love LPs mohawk. :goodvibes Hell looks a lot prettier than I ever imagined it. ;) Awesome snorkeling pictures!!!!!

You got some really great pictures - how cool to snorkel with a sea turtle! :thumbsup2

I just got all caught up. What a mess with the laundry! I hate when companies mess up and then expect you to pay for it. I don't think so! But this being Disney, I'm sure you knew it would all be taken care of in the end, one way or another. I'm glad it did!

I loved hearing about all the spa treatments you tried out on the ship! What a relaxing trip you had! And the Grand Cayman pictures are great. LP's SO cute with his little mohawk! The whole place looks gorgeous!

Both of the spa visits sounded terrific. I'll have to remember that.
Great pictures of the snorkeling. My DH loves sea turtles. I'll have to show him.
Too bad about the laundry deal. I'm glad you found someone to make it right!

DCL Day 4...More TURTLES!

After our snorkeling, we rinsed off and went to the freshwater pool. I set my camera in Mrs. Friend's bag at this point (it looked just like mine, we had purchased them together) and so I have no photos of this part of our day. We had a very relaxing time splashing around together. I think we spent almost an hour of our time in the freshwater pool...the boys loved the waterfalls (there were two). Promising to meet our friends later, we headed over to the aviary. All of the big boys held birds (for the second time in a day) and even our LP got an up close and personal visit when one perched on my shoulder while I was holding him.

Then we were moving on to see the turtles. Mrs. Friend flagged me down as we were passing them (they were leaving the turtle area at that point) and handed me my camera (which I hadn't even thought to look for?!). PHEW. I am glad I didn't notice it was missing or I would have wasted a lot of time searching for it.

But back to the turtles...

We all loved them! They were just as interesting on this, our second visit, as they had been the first time. Especially the yearling turtles. Holding a real live sea turtle is totally awesome, DUDE (had to pay homage to Crush).

Even our Little Prince got into meeting a sea turtle!

Here are our three oldest boys taking a quick break while we all used LOTS of hand sanitizer. Holding sea turtles is fun, but I didn't want to share anything they might be "carrying".

A better picture of another little Lion Tailed Lizard (once again, the boys did beg to bring him home and once again, we said no).

It was while we were cleaning our hands that we came to an important realization. We were SO GLAD that we hadn't taken the Disney tour that stopped here. First of all, you paid WAY MORE than the face value of the ticket (even without taxi driver's discount). When you added in the cost of lunch there and the cost of the taxi ride, we still came out way ahead money wise. Also, they had a group tour of the turtle area and not everyone was able to hold a turtle because they couldn't all hold one in the time allowed before the group moved on. While our family had been able to take all the time we wanted with the turtles, hold multiple turtles each and have a very educational one on one conversation with the turtle keeper, the people on the tour were herded through much more quickly with only a short (two minute) talk by the turtle keeper. I was very glad not to have taken the tour!!

That realization had, we headed into the gift shop and did quite a bit of shopping. My favorite find turned out to once again be a Christmas ornament. This one was a gold plated flat turtle. It too brought back many a vacation memory when I nestled it in the boughs of our Christmas tree this year.

And then, all too soon, it was time to meet our friends and take the taxi back to the tender. Here are some of the many shots I took of the Disney Magic while we were tendering back to the ship.

Upon our return to the ship, the kids once again begged their way to the kid's clubs for a short while before it was time for them to get ready for dinner. This gave dh time to lay down with our LP and me time to take a nice long shower and still have plenty of time to get everyone's dinner outfits ready. Tonight's dinner attire was a bit more to put together than most other nights...tonight was going to be fun...it was PIRATE NIGHT!

To be continued...

What a cool trip to Hell! :lmao: I've never heard of it - but if I ever get to Grand Cayman I'll be sure to drive through. LP looks so cute with his mohawk! :goodvibes
Thanks, I really did like the mohawk. ;) Do be sure to stop, it's really not off the beaten path by much (one turn) and it's worth the pitstop.

Great underwater pictures again! You really luck out on some great shots. An iguana swimming right in front of me would have freaked me out too! Those things just creep me out. That little smile makes makes my heart melt too! I was checking some of your TR out while watching my nephew and he kept going "Baby! Baby! He's smiling! Awwww!" It was just too cute.
HA HA HA, it totally did freak him out. Awww, how sweet of your nephew. How old is he now? I keep thinking of him as a young toddler.

Wow! What a great afternoon at Boatswain's Beach Adventure Park! I love you guys catching a homeschooling moment... always have to fit those in when you can! ;) It really does make places more interesting and memorable when you do that.
Hummm, a swimming iguana... well, that is something I have never seen before! :scared: Not too sure I need to see that! :rotfl:
The swimming iguana was very unexpected (even with warning, I thought he had been joking).

We really do love to pack educational moments into almost everything we do. :thumbsup2

I was thinking about the Little Prince today and all the prayers and hopes and fears we had last year. He put a whole group of internet friends through a whole lot, but I think he was definitely worth it!! :grouphug:

And how about that -- I told you he was a GQ baby!! That faux-hawk he had going on was just adorable. And I LOVED that picture of him with Aladdin! That would be beautiful in a frame.

I still have a couple of cute shot glasses in my collection from Hell. :thumbsup2

Oh, did you see on my TR the voodoo key chains I got in AK? They reminded me of the boys!!!

Can't wait for more!! pixiedust:
Faux-hawk. :lmao: I love that term! YES, I saw that! Ha ha ha, I should have gotten a shot glass.

Wonderful updates! I love LPs mohawk. :goodvibes Hell looks a lot prettier than I ever imagined it. ;) Awesome snorkeling pictures!!!!!
Ha ha ha, it was, wasn't it? ;)

You got some really great pictures - how cool to snorkel with a sea turtle! :thumbsup2
It was really cool to see them gliding through the same water we were swimming in!

:wave2: Hi! It's been a joy :flower3: to read your TR! Thanks!!
Why, thank you! So much! :)

I think it is a very beautiful island.:goodvibes

If he loves sea turtles, try to make it Grand Cayman one day and don't miss the Turtle Farm (otherwise known as Boatswain's Beach Adventure Park). :beach:

Again great pictures. My DH would have to have one of those ornaments also.

I loved visiting "Hell" in Grand Caymen! :lmao: Glad you got to experience it with the whole group!!! Boatswain's Beach Adventure Park sounds amazing...I can't believe how much there is to do....looks like your family had an amazing day! I can't wait to hear about Pirate Night! pirate:

Another great update! Those sea turtles are so cool! If I ever do get a chance to take this cruise, I'll have to remember your tip about skipping the tour and going on our own! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about pirate night!

Wow the snorkelling and turtles looked fantastic, snorkelling is the only thing I miss about our WDW holidays. Sounds as though you got a great deal too :thumbsup2

I loved this update! The turtle's are so cute and you can just see the excitement on your boy's faces. LP has the cutest little cheeks! Thanks for sharing!

Those turtles were impressive! We snorkled with them in the BVI but never were able to catch up and touch one! :confused3 They are surprisingly fast! Loved the yearlings!
Pirate Night!!! Can't wait! pirate:

HA HA HA, it totally did freak him out. Awww, how sweet of your nephew. How old is he now? I keep thinking of him as a young toddler.

He just turned 3 this past December. Every time I show him pictures of WDW now he keeps saying "I want to go there. Can we go there?" At first our sister was trying not to get him hooked on Disney but one day we watched Toy Story after someone bought him a Woody doll and he's been hooked on Disney ever since. His favorite movies are Cars, Chicken Little and Monsters Inc.

Thanks for the tip about going on your own instead of the Disney tour! I'm thinking more and more about adding a Disney cruise to our "must-do-someday" list...:scratchin

Grand Cayman looks wonderful! The boys all look like they are having an awesome time. Did the park have a beach to swim at or just the snorkeling?
I can't wait to see the Pirate party pictures.:)

Just caught up WOW what an amazing day on Grand Cayman those sharks would have freaked me out too!!! The turtles were way cool. What a great adventure for the family. *jealous* I love this report.

Ok...all caught up. Glad to see you only spent 30 minutes in Hell instead of an enternity. :rotfl2: Who knew that Hell was that beautiful. Love LP's hair and of course his smile. All I thought of when I saw the sea turtles, was "DUDE!" :rotfl: Can;t wait to hear more though you are making me want to take a Disney cruise. Someday....right now we are thinking about going to WDW with my paretns and brothers family when Caleb is a little older. My parents are dying to take their grandsons to Disney and who am I to stop them.:cool1:

They had both a snorkeling lagoon and a freshwater pool. Both were very refreshing (and man made). :thumbsup2

I am totally loving your TR Jay!!! I absoultely adore the picture of Aladdin with your LP on the sand. That is so cute...and it is obvious from looking at their pictures that those two have a very special bond.

Grand Cayman looks like a great place to go. I think I would have freaked with that i"monster" swimming in front of me too. Good thinking about the hand sanitizer too....!!!! You are such the perfect planner....!!!!

Can't wait to hear all about Pirate Night and see more pictures!!!!
