With the new policies at southwest does anyone know if you buy the basic do you still get the option to buy seats at booking. Or do you have to wait till check in
Any other advice
On our flight down we’re still under the old system but coming home it’s the new
Not sure how this will all play out

From SW website, you can purchase extra leg room or preferred, if available. You can’t buy a standard seat. Do the math & make sure it’s not more than just booking choice which includes a standard set at booking.

I just booked two one-way flights last night, BWI to Fort Myers Florida on the basic fair and was able to pick my seats and pay the difference if I wanted, however I got the seats for free and didn’t have to pay the difference since I’m a card member. Easy Peasy. Total was 17K points & $11 in taxes.
