17 Days of Wishes Come to Life- A Sept. 08 WDW and DCL Adventure 3/27 new link posted

Love your SSE video - cute horn! The video is such a fun addition to the ride, gives you something to do on the long backwards ride back to earth!

Looks like you had a great time at GG, I think that is my favorite place for character interaction! I guess because it is smaller in size, the characters can afford to spend more time with the guests, and the food isn't bad either!

I agree with everyone else - you have a very handsome group of young men on your hands, Jay! You should be very proud! And, I'm totally impressed that you could get your DH to wear a Mickey t-shirt! My Disney Grump would NEVER put one on, he'd be afraid that I would think he was starting to like it there! :rotfl:

Hopefully by now you are back to 100%. Just think...better to have had a sickness now then in two weeks!

Not quite yet at 100%, but functioning. :goodvibes It better be GONE in 2 weeks! I am sorry to hear your Little Prince isn't feeling better either...I hope that gets cleared up soon.

Loved your update! I didn't get to see the hair horn because I don't want to see the video on SE until I actually experience it myself. Hopefully I'll remember to come back here and check out the horn. ;)

What a good idea to video Spaceship earth video clip. I'll have to do that next time. Looks like you all got a lot done in your day at Epcot.

Hey Jay...I am loving your day at Epcot so far. The video was very cool, I had to laugh at the horn too. The boys are all so cute with the characters. I hope our little guy loves them as much as your Little Prince did!!!

Can't wait to read what comes next!!!!

(Hope the Little Prince is feeling better)!!!

Great update and Pics. You got so much done in Epcot before lunch. The pics of the boys with the characters at GG are so cute!

Loving your TR!! I love Little Prince's reaction to all the characters!! He really is just the cutest thing!!

We loved eating at Garden Grill. It will be missed! I enjoyed all of your pictures from there.

BTW have you considered taking Little Prince to a chiropractor? It made a world of difference with my sinuses and my boys' ears. I hope he feels better soon!

I second that, Jay. You may (or may not) recall I work in a chiropractic office. Have for 20 years. (boy, am I old!)

Anyway, we get good results with EI's on the little ones. My own DS suffered from them for years. At the first sign of one, I would get him adjusted & it helped a lot. Just a thought. You know you can always PM me with another other questions on it.

I loved your SSE video, I think it's such a cool addition, how funny about the horn

Your meal looked lovely, the boys looked as though they had tons of fun and Little Prince obviously loved the characters, so cute :)
It was such a cool addition. We had no plans on riding SE twice in a row...but after seeing that video, we did (and we wished we had more time to ride it again!). Also, the cool stuff afterward was H-A-R-D for us to skip...but we truly were completely out of time. I guess that's just more "new" fun for next time!!:thumbsup2

Nice installment!!
Thanks! :goodvibes

Don't you know...somewhere in that horn is the elusive "third eye" that all moms seem to have! Finally, proof of its existence!;) Maybe it only appears at Disney, though...yes, that must be it :thumbsup2 .

You know, I still haven't gotten to ride Soaring at WDW (I was on the one in DL in 2001). It was still being worked on the last time I was in Epcot, which was March of 2005. Actually, from reading various TRs I have realized that there is SO much to see that I never realized was there; sometimes you just have to slow down and really soak things in!

Great report so far; I think you went 4/4 in having boys that enjoy character interactions! They really are a whole lot of fun and the pictures are priceless.
Hmmm...maybe my third eye is on a telescope then (judging by the size of that horn). :lmao: Seriously though, I look like some sort of off kilter unicorn. I couldn't stop laughing at the horn while I was recording our little video clip. So any manical laughing heard in the background is me, being amused by my own horn. :rotfl:

I have learned so much from reading trip reports. I think they are so much fun, so entertaining and you can learn so much. They are the perfect read!

We did get lucky with the Disney lovers! Being 4/4 on raising boys who love Disney is something to be proud of! ;)

I am absolutely loving your TR! Especially the pics of your boys! I think we are all partial the ones of little prince! I'm ready for more! I wish I can go to the world for the long trip that you took!
I am glad you are not minding all of them of our littlest guy. I really tried to capture the most pictures of him since everything was brand new for him. Not that I didn't love being there with the other boys. I really did...but there are few things as sweet as watching your little one experience the magic of one of your favorite places for the first time. :cloud9: :goodvibes And THANKS!!:cutie:

Your video reminded me of an episode of The Jetsons! :lmao:

That was so cool of Dale to shower Goofy with such attention! :thumbsup2 All of your pictures from Garden Grill are great, The Little Prince is adorable reaching out to all the characters.

Can't wait to see what country you'll be in next....
Meet Jay Jetson. du du du du du du duuuuuuu Her boy Goofy. du du du du duuuu....:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: I thought it was Jetson like too!

I was so happy that Goofy got a little extra attention from his favorite Disney pal. It's the going above and beyond like that which keeps our family returning to WDW over and over again.:thumbsup2

I was SOOOOOO excited when I read that Goofy said "You're my favorite" to Dale!!! What a smart, smart boy!! And the pictures of the two of them and Goofy's face were just adorable!

DD and I were saying how much "older" Stitch has gotten from your first TR! He's matured so much and yet still has all his little boy sweetness!

And Aladdin ... he's gonna be a heartbreaker with that smile, Jay!

The whole time you were on your trip, I was thinking about seeing the pictures of The Little Prince's eyes all excited and they did not disappoint! What a happy little nugget he is!!

By the way ...... nice horn!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl:
Ha ha ha. That so is your line! HA HA HA! But Goofy did use it and Dale really played it up for him!

Stitch has gotten so much 'older' looking. It's the hair! From last year's pictures to this years pictures he looks YEARS older with his hair grown out. But he does still have those little chunky cheeks. ;) So I won't cry quite yet. ;)

Aladdin already has little girls writing him notes and sending him emails (we will get into him and how he seems to draw girls like bees to honey in the cruise part of this trip report).

I know! I was so excited to see our Little Prince see WDW for the first time. I actually day dreamed about how excited he might be...I was SO setting myself up for disappointment. Happily, he was even more happy than I could have imagined! And, I called him my little nugget the other day and thought of you! :rotfl2:

Great update. The pictures of the boys at GG are priceless--especially the wistful one of LP. Can't wait for more.
He is happy pretty most of the time (at least when he doesn't have an ear infection!) but he just lit up every single time he came near a character. He even started to hyper ventilate and try to throw himself from my or dh's arms into theirs sometimes! :rotfl2: :lmao: I guess you could say we have a little character fan!:rotfl:

Once again, your pictures are priceless. I can't believe how much you got done in a few short hours at Epcot! The GG sounds like a nice place to eat too. :)
I know! Those lucky kids of ours got to double up (thanks to the baby swap pass) on any rides both dh and myself wanted to ride (that had height restrictions). We got all of that done in just under 4 hours. I was so amazed at what we had accomplished ride wise in such a short time when we sat down to eat lunch and started reflecting on what we had done that day already.

Another great update! Hummm.... the horn.... maybe it's an antenna, sort of like the one Uncle Martin had on My Favorite Martian ;) Do you remember that show? Seems like it was in reruns when I was young. :rotfl:
I used to love that show. I watched the reruns! One summer it was on every weekday morning at about 9:00 AM so I would eat cereal while watching it and then run outside to play for the day. I LOVED that show. So maybe, if I am lucky, my horn IS like his! Sadly, I seem to have lost it when I exited the ride.:lmao:

Love the pics at Epcot. It looks like such a wonderful time. You are so lucky your Little Prince had such a good time with the characters. Our DS was around 15 months on our second trip and cried at everyone of the characters. (Chef Mickey's was a blast, let me tell ya. ) Last year though after months of getting him prepared, he finally went up to Mickey. That picture is priceless to me. He would have nothing to do with any of the other characters though. He would hand me his autograph book to give to each of the characters. I am hoping this year he enjoys them more. :)
Awww. I was prepared to have a little guy who was scared of characters (we actually scheduled many less character meals than we normally would just in case he was terrified). I was hoping (dreaming, fingers crossed that he would love it. But I knew it could just as easily (more likely with that age really) go the other way.

Awww, I would treasure that picture too! Did you get his face in the shot? As far as still nothing with the other characters...maybe he just has discerning taste?! Here's for hoping he's in love with all of the characters on your next trip!:wizard:

Awww...and thanks and awwww again!

That horn was cute. Thank you very much!:lmao: :rotfl:  I love the character interaction there as well.

As far as dh in the Mickey shirt. I had to BEG him to wear it and promise I would not make any matching shirts. That's the key. Tell your dh you saw shirts that you want to MAKE for each member of your family that will match. Start to explain about tie dye Mickey heads and iron on transfers and then let him squirm a bit thinking you might really do it. After that, dh was fine with a Mickey shirt just one day (after a lot of huffing on his part and begging on mine). He was going to do anything to stop me from creating my own shirts! Which may have been smart on his part, I am NOT the craftiest of them all.

Not quite yet at 100%, but functioning. :goodvibes It better be GONE in 2 weeks! I am sorry to hear your Little Prince isn't feeling better either...I hope that gets cleared up soon.

If I remember, I will remind you. :rotfl: Ick, sounds like you got hit with a whooper of a cold. And just keep thinking positive, it WILL be gone in two weeks for sure!! How excited are you to have to even worry about that?! It means your trip is almost here!

What a good idea to video Spaceship earth video clip. I'll have to do that next time. Looks like you all got a lot done in your day at Epcot.
I wish I had thought to record our first clip! I won't miss out on doing it in the future. I think I am going to do a lot more short video clips in the future. It really takes me back to the moment when I watch them!

Hey Jay...I am loving your day at Epcot so far. The video was very cool, I had to laugh at the horn too. The boys are all so cute with the characters. I hope our little guy loves them as much as your Little Prince did!!!

He is doing better today. I did run him in and his ears are still reddish but very mildly compared to before. Because of his intolerence of antibiotics, we are going to "wait and see" for now. Poor little prince.

Great update and Pics. You got so much done in Epcot before lunch. The pics of the boys with the characters at GG are so cute!
Thanks! And I love your signature picture, it's so sweet!

Loving your TR!! I love Little Prince's reaction to all the characters!! He really is just the cutest thing!!
He was so much fun to watch while we were at WDW! Thanks!!

I think I know!!! :ssst: But I'm not telling! ;)

Lovely report, Jay!
HELLO not-missing-Barb! It's GOOD to see you! I bet you have guessed right! I am working on the next installment now!

We loved eating at Garden Grill. It will be missed! I enjoyed all of your pictures from there.

BTW have you considered taking Little Prince to a chiropractor? It made a world of difference with my sinuses and my boys' ears. I hope he feels better soon!
Actually we have made an appointment for him to see our chiropractor on Wednesday. I figure anything that won't hurt him but may help him out, is worth trying at this point. THANKS for that suggestion though! I really appreaciate it!

I second that, Jay. You may (or may not) recall I work in a chiropractic office. Have for 20 years. (boy, am I old!)

Two sightings in one reply! And yes, I did recall! I actually thought of taking him because I remember you telling me about taking your DS in when we were talking about chiropractors and all that they could do that people didn't realize (about two years ago now! time sure does fly). SO THANK YOU for planting the seed for that idea way back when!

Just getting caught up again and what a precious family you have!

You really saw alot on your Epcot day - I'm hoping my DS15 will have fun with just his ol' Mom (me) in December. Our first day will be at Epcot & he wants to get in some thrill rides as soon as we arrive. I wish his older brother (DS30) could come along with us - they have bonded so much the past few months. Your boys really seem to get along great - wonderful job you and your husband have done!

That was such a relaxing time you had beside the fire reading - it's just the cup of tea we moms need from time to time!

Anytime, Sweetie. Here's hoping for good results. Let me know how it goes.

P.S. - Hey - I've posted *3* times on one day!!!!! I think that's a new record!!! Yay me!

I am still laughing at the "Horn Hair" part of your story.
I swear, I have never heard anything so funny.
I still have tears in my eyes by the casual way you
refer to it as "my horn",,,Soooooooooo Soooooooo Funny!
This one goes down in history,,,you should recieve an
award.....Usually this is the part when I am pretty funny,
but I am not even going to try,,,not with this material of yours!!!!!!!!!

Day 4 EPCOT continued...

We made our way over to our family's favorite country at EPCOT, Japan. We like the huge department store there. We adore the tin toy museum. And most of all, we love Miyuki the candy maker! She totally rocks!!

While we were walking around the World Showcase, our Little Prince had fallen fast asleep. Dh offered to sit down and watch over him during his nap. Smooth move. In one fell swoop he got himself out of shopping, into a seated position and checked his work email without me giving him a frowning face for doing so. :lmao:

While dh checked in with work and our Little Prince slept, the rest of us headed into Mikimoto to do more than a little bit of shopping. It's a family tradition for us to go shopping here on every WDW trip. My boys are totally into the unique toys and other items they have for sale here. Some of our favorite finds this time were the Monchichi toys that Goofy and Stitch got (they got two of them that were dressed up like soccer playing monchichis). You wouldn't believe how many people I heard walking by singing the ditty "Monchichi, Monchichi...." as they saw the toys! I remember them from when I was growing up and they are just as cute as I remembered (maybe even cuter). We also stocked up on our favorite Japanese candy, Botan Ame Rice Candy (yum!). They are tasty little citrus flavored squares of rice goodness (sort of in a gel/taffy state) that are wrapped in small pieces of edible wrappers (it looks like clear plastic but melts in your mouth). And we always pick a new food item to try out along with our tried and true favorites, this year we picked shrimp wafers. They were little styrofoamish (but not styrofoam) edible wafers that were colored pink and shrimp flavored. All I can really say about them is that they were interesting and I am glad I tried them once. :rolleyes1 ;)

When we finally finished up shopping we hustled outside to meet up with dh. We wanted to stay in that area until Miyuki had her next show so we headed over to the tin toy museum.

This exhibit is always a big hit with our family but today, we discovered more hidden fun inside! First off, let me show you some of the awesome tin toys they have here.

Disney2008318.jpg

While we were looking around, our Little Prince woke up and joined us in looking at all of the brightly colored tin toys. He also made fast friends with one of the CMs there. She stuck a Mickey Mouse sticker to his arm which I thought he would chew/suck off within minutes but it turns out he didn't do either but instead, we would find him staring at it from time to time. He really does love Mickey Mouse. ;) The CM really made an impression on us with the way she took the time to interact with our Little Prince. She spent the better part of five minutes making him smile and smiling at him. It was one of those moments that the extra effort and happy outlook that most Disney CMs seem to share really had a positive impact on our vacation.
Disney2008317.jpg

Now for the hidden fun. The tin toy museum is home to the kid's mask station in Japan. In that same area you can also do two super cool other things (which I had no idea they offered until we were told by the very sweet CM who played with our Little Prince). You can fold origami figures (animals, boxes, flowers, etc) or make super neat FREE little wind up robots! Our boys chose to do both and loved every second of it! Stitch and Aladdin both chose to fold a frog. Goofy chose something different. Here is a picture of Goofy folding the origami box that he chose. It is really neat. It is a box with a star top that opens when you pinch it. We still have all of their origami creations and little wind up robots. All of our boys rank these free creations tops of the souvenir list!
Disney2008325.jpg

We ended up spending almost an hour inside of the tin tour museum (before it had always been a ten minutes tops look see sort of activity for us). We really had fun and we wish we would have taken the time to take a closer look way before this trip! I took a quick photo of Aladdin while we made our way back out to Miyuki's stand in front of the department store.
Disney2008316.jpg
We snapped one more as we took a detour through a beautiful garden and over a bridge to get to the restrooms.
Disney2008327.jpg

About the time we arrived back at (3o minutes before her demonstration was scheduled to start) at Miyuki's stand, the rain started to come down, down, down. I have never been so thankful for a handful of 2 for $1 ponchos! ;)

We really were lucky that we had those ponchos. Even though her demonstration area is under an overhang, the wind was blowing the rain straight in at us. In the video clips below, you can actually hear how hard the rain was coming down! As we waited for Miyuki to arrive, the boys decided that if any of them were chosen, they would ask for an orange scorpion (how they came up with that I have no idea). Miyuki showed up right on time and with a big smile! And as luck would have it (or as waiting for 30 minutes to get a front row spot would have it ;) ) Aladdin was the first one chosen to pick an animal for Miyuki to create. I apologize in advance for how hard it is to hear her. The rain was really coming down. But the videos (I have two, you should watch them in order) show how she takes a blob of shiny melted rice candy and turns it into a miniature work of art.

And a few pictures for those who cannot see the movie clips. Here is Miyuki bagging up the orange scorpion.

And the turtle she made for a couple on their honeymoon.
Disney2008331.jpg

By the time her demonstration was over, we were all a bit damp (thanks to the ponchos we were not soaking) and we were getting a bit tired as well. Our morning had been jam packed and while our afternoon had been full of lots of slow explorations and hidden fun we didn't want to tire ourselves out today. We had a huge day coming up tomorrow...

We decided to forgo our dinner reservation at the Rose and Crown Pub and instead call it an early day and head back to the lodge for a dinner of room service and allow the electrical water parade to be our evening entertainment.

We have two troll fanatics in the family though...so we couldn't leave without stopping by to take a ride amongst the trolls and then do some troll shopping afterward in the Norway pavilion. Here are a few snapshots I got of my own little Vikings and a huge troll friend of theirs. ;)

It was about 6:30 by the time we made it to our van and started the short drive back to the WL. A very happy surprise was in store for the boys when we returned to the room...

TO BE CONTINUED

Wow Jay....love all the neat stuff you guys did in Japan. We have never really explored Japan as we ran out of time. I am definitely going to have to do this on our next trip. We have seen Miyuki and I agree she is just amazing!!!

How sweat of that CM to take the extra time with your Little Prince!!! He looks so cute in that picture.

Ohh and I think I would be more than happy if my DH has decided to sit out while I shopped...much easier for me to spend money that way. Hahahahahah....!!!

Love touring with you and your family, Jay! In January, I *will* make a point to be early for Miyuki! Thanks for the reminder.

Is Baby prince feeling any better today?

Another "must do" on my list is Miyuki! I never even knew about her until your last report and right then and there decided we had to see her next time. :goodvibes The Tin Toy Store looks really cool! I almost gushed to DH about how neat it looks, but I know he will really enjoy that store, so I'm keeping it as a little surprise on the trip for him to enjoy. :thumbsup2

The toy robots and oragami-how neat! Too bad Henry is too little yet...maybe they'll let a "big kid" play a bit too...;)

I hope Little Prince is doing better!

Another fun installment! I can't wait to explore Epcot, especially with my oldest. Last time we were there she was only 5 and not too interested. I have almost a year to find out about all the neat stuff to discover, so keep your stories about your favorite places coming!:yay:

Great update. We also love Japan. Miyuki is the best, so very talented. Kaylee got to choose and animal so she made a Tiger for her brother who was sick in the room :sad2: . Unfortunately he did eat the tiger :rolleyes1 and that was pretty much all he atee the whole day. Last year he saved the monkey she made him. I love the pictures of the boys dressed up like Vikings in Norway. I don't blame you for skipping Rose & Crown in favor of a quiet room service dinner and EWP :thumbsup2 .
