How many guests are you having?

I was originally planning on having my reception in the Napa Room but my guest count has gone up to 40 people so it was suggested I use the Whitehall Room. Heidi suggested using the patio for the cocktail party and inside for the reception. She said this room with a dance floor is suitable for 40 people and if the guest count went closer to 50 the room would be too cramped and I would need to use one of the bigger rooms.

We are using the Whitehall room & patio for our cocktail hour and then moving over to the St. Augustine room for our reception.

We are having the Whitehall room but only have a small number of us at the moment it stands at 10.

I have some pictures that my sales manager sent me but I am at work so I can't upload them due to company policy. If you PM your e-mail address I will forward them to you.

My sister used the Whitehall room for her reception. It's such a pretty room. She only had 35-40 people though. If you're having a lot more than that, then you may want a bigger space for your guests. Good luck!

We're having the Whitehall too - same size, 35-40 guests. I've not heard the other rooms mentioned yet to me.

We had our Mad Hatter Tea on the Patio and our Buffet took up most of the room inside...I have some pics - look on the other board in my TR and they will be there. But if you could move in and out, I do not think you would have a problem, unless your guest list is really big

How many people are you having and are you having a buffet or plated?
We are having our reception at the white hall with about 40 guests. Our pre- reception is out on the patio, but we wanted to have a buffet and a small dance floor so we put our heads together and came up with the idea of setting up the buffet right outside the room across from the patio. We were going to have the buffet set up outside but we decided that's where we want to have our first dance. We even had it set up once to have the dance floor outside with cocktail tables and we were just going to keep the doors open. There are so many possibilities and without sounding to bridezilla like keep stressing to your planner what you want, and I'm sure you all can come up with something.:goodvibes

P.S. I know about the other rooms and to be honest, they just didn't have the same appeal to me, I too love the chandelier and love the windows!

These aren't the greatest pix, but they'll give you
an idea. Also, if the Search system is working, Ember had a lovely reception at Whitehall, and there's a link to her Karla Fountain photos somewhere out there!

Hello

we had the whitehall room for our reception. Its been a few years, I think we ended up with just about 40 people.

was a perfect fit, we thought. We had the cocktail hour on the patio and that was probably the best part.

we actually probably could have fit a few more in there so if you are around that number I would say push for the whitehall room.

day of----make sure you get a picture of the daily events digital menu in the Grand Floridian lobby

I'm having my reception there as well. We are having anywhere from 40-50 people and are thinking of having the cocktail hour and possibly dinner outiside (weather dependent) and dancing inside (my family is scared to show their moves to the onlookers on the monterail). Do you the room can hold dinner and dancing in the same room or should it be seperated? I too love the room as well. I love the windows and the patio is what did it for me.

we had right at about 40 and had both the dancing and table dining inside. The dance floor wasnt huge by any means but we knew we were not big dancers so we didnt mind. The bar was set up just outside the main entrance to the room itself

Thanks for the responses, everyone....that is the hard part in that we do not know if we are going to have 38 or 50 people. I REALLY love Whitehall and do not want to move.....

You are creative! Thanks so much for your post....it has helped me a lot! So, your planner said it was ok to have the dance floor outside? This is what I am thinking of doing...is the DJ outside as well? Thanks again!

Our planner didn't seem to have a real problem with it when we suggested it. She basically jumped on board right away and started giving us ideas how to set everything up. The dance floor will be on the open part of the patio and the covered part will be where the cocktail tables are set up. As of right now we decided that we will have speakers put by the doorway to the patio and the DJ inside.

I mentionned this to my SM and was told that it would be far too hot in the day to have any dancing outside at all :(
