I am so sorry for being late, but I am here now:thumbsup2

I am so looking forward to meeting you and your family, it's on THE PLAN!;)

I can't wait to wonder around the booths and pig out, oops I mean sample the offerings:)

(I agree with your DH, crossing fingers and just waiting for that CRV annoucement, I have addonitis:laughing: )

oh michelle this is so much fun;) What did you say
to the cm that helped get the room at the CR??
Do they hold some rooms or what?? You must have
the magic touch and then theres that pixie dust pixiedust:
So glad Steve didn't disappoint and let you book some
more of that disney fun for you and yours! Its gona be
another amazing ride I'm sure:thumbsup2 Again I thank you
for your kind thoughts, I went running for the tissue
when I read them:sad1: Your the best diz friend ever:love:

We all know that 'wanting' to go back to WDW, and actually 'going' back to WDW are two very different things. Unfortunately, there is a bottom line, and we had fallen right through that bottom line in December!
Bottom line? We don't need no stinkin' bottom line! :rotfl2: At least you waited until December to hit it. :rolleyes1

What I'm saying is, we handed all of our money over to Mickey for our Christmas trip. :santa:
Ah, but what a fabulous trip that was, eh? :cloud9:

January went by, February went by, nothing... March arrived and all of a sudden, it happened. The MAGIC CODE arrived! Yes, my friends, THAT code, the 40% off room rate code. It was all I needed to get this trip going! I called right away and got a Grand Floridian GV room at some ridiculously cheap rate. I was thrilled. :yay:
Ooh!! I'm hoping for THAT code again this year! :thumbsup2

when he came in I had some cafe mocha waiting for him... he sat down to a dinner of roast beef, homemade mashed potatoes & gravy... I started innocently talking about WDW and what a wonderful time we had. Then he said it - 'I wish we were back there right now.' BINGO! I made my move.
Smooth, Michelle. ::yes:: Very smooth! :smooth:

I kept my GF reservation and went to bed with that panicked feeling... you know the one I'm talking about. That feeling you get when your plans aren't perfect...
Unfortunately, I know that feeling quite well, my friend! :faint:

I explained what I wanted and she said, 'let me take a look' and put me on hold... I waited... and waited... and waited... when she came back on the line, she said that she was able to get a Contemporary Tower Magic Kingdom View room for me at the 40% off. I WAS THRILLED!
And let the :pixiedust: fly, baby!

Now all we need is airfare! :headache: Let the games begin!

popcorn::

Aha! I thought you were familiar. Before I comment on the quote below,
I just want to say a few things from the earlier posts...

Your daughter needs to attend CalArts when she's a few years older.
Just sayin'. :rolleyes1

You will be at WDW during a time when a ton of peeps from here I wanted
to meet are going. Lynda (of the Disney Freak photographer variety) is one
of them. As it happens, I do know a lot of people going my week, too.
It's news to me that PrincessV will be there when I am there, too. :)

Ok, now I've quoted my favorite part:

Of course, I kept an eye on the DISboards, watching people post what they were getting. As the days went by, I got more & more depressed. Then, finally, about a week later, I called and got the most wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable CM I've ever spoken to. I explained what I wanted and she said, 'let me take a look' and put me on hold... I waited... and waited... and waited... when she came back on the line, she said that she was able to get a Contemporary Tower Magic Kingdom View room for me at the 40% off. I WAS THRILLED! I said BOOK IT! We're paying about $100 less a night than we did last October when we got an AP rate. (and that's including the rack rate increase for 2007) Just amazing. I guess this trip was meant to be after all. I called Steve and told him, and he was happy. (as happy as men can get when they know that they're going to be spending more money) That night, we told the kids. Brenna danced around the house. :dance3:

:faint: I'd say you totally made up for the hotel change, and the Resort
Fairy was smiling down on you that day! You have Magic Kingdom view,
and that isn't easy to come by, let alone at a tremendous discounted rate!

That deserved those 5 dancing bananas. :cutie:

I hear ya michelle, it does get more difficult as
the kids grow and what with all kinds of busy
hectic schedules. We were lucky enough to have
many though, when my boys were grown. I tell
you it was just as much fun if not more! We
went twice yearly, aug and our wonderful christmas
adventures. I so cherish those wonderful memories.
We had many of those stays at our fav resort
GF...aaaaaah those fantastic disney days!!! Hurry
up lottery, we need ya!!:rotfl:

It's just another typical Sunday afternoon for me- of lurking around the Dis boards, peeking at people's trip reports- and suddenly I remember that your family was going to be at WDW just before me. And I thought hmmm, where is Mlil's pre-trippie? It's got to be around here somewhere. So I search and search, and nothing. But lo and behold, I click on some random pre-trippie by a name I've never heard before- who is this DISneyFamily? It's you!!!

I am quite jealous your family is staying at The Contemporary again. The pics from your last Halloween trip completely changed my opinion of the CR (even though from the outside it is visually the least pleasing resort to me). I want to stay there now! I even started pricing a September 08 trip and there are NO MK view rooms available for the dates I am playing with. I'm glad you were able to get in! It gives me hope that a little persistance can pay off.

Brenna's countdown calendar is awesome and Jordan always impresses me with her art. Can't wait to read more about your preparations!

HI! I followed your link over here from my report.:goodvibes Be back in a little while to catch up.:surfweb:

Hey Michelle (and Brenna!) Thanks for stopping by my pre-trip report! I can't wait to eat at Kona and Coral Reef, plus Le Cellier. They are the restaurants I am most looking forward to. Do you all have your ADR's set? I predict a stop at Cali Grill, Boma, and maybe Olivia's?

Hey Michelle!
As I said before I am a big time TR lurker but I think I once commented on one of yours about what a pleasant read yours are. So organized, so professional - therefore your tag under your new name is perf! Your family's commitment to Disney Vacationing is an inspiration and I look forward to reading all about it (You have also inspired me to figure out the little "link to next post" thing for my report. I have learned so much from all you Disers it is SCARY!)

When are you guys going back to WDW?

We'll be going back probably in July. The summer months work the best, and July just happens to be when we end up going. We will have to be getting our room reservations made soon!

I wish we were going the same time though!

Yay! I'm glad your starting another trip report. They keep me entertained and they make me excited to go back...someday...long from now.

I'm in! I just love your TRs & love your family! All these Halloween trips are making me wanna check out wdw in October now (like i need an excuse).

Hi Lori! I'm glad you found me! Yes, I'm still bummed Jordan didn't end up in art school. We had seriously considered the Art Institute of Chicago, but in the end, she decided against it. Her end goal is a career in Hospitality Management and she wants to marry a chef someday. I wonder where she got that dream from?! LOL! :rotfl:

Yeah, I had Jordan mixed up with Brenna. :guilty:
Who wouldn't want to marry a chef, though. A guy who could cook for me?
That's a lovely dream. :cloud9:

Yes! I already have a DIS Meet planned with Lynda! We're getting together at the Poly. Tell you what, I'll give Lynda a hug for you if you give PrincessV a hug for me! Deal?!

But PrincessV doesn't know me from Adam! :scared: At least Lynda and I
know each other well enough to exchange hugs. I don't know if PrincessV
would appreciate a strange woman extending a hug to her.

Are you sitting down? My final rate at the MK is $267/night during Regular season. I'm soooo happy! Thanks for the dancing bananas!!! Hey, I've got something for you, too...

------

I've been working on some Food & Wine Festival note cards for all of the food booths. They will be 4"x 6" and will list all the available goodies at each booth, plus a way to rate each item. On the back will be a place for notes. Here is an example of one of the cards...

I'm just using info that I've found here on the DIS and other sites. Of course, nothing is offical yet, until opening day. As soon as I get the final list of Marketplace booths, I will post these cards on my server for download. :thumbsup2

:faint: I'm sure glad I was sitting down! Those cards are fantastic!!

Wonderful start, Michelle!!:thumbsup2 I'm so glad you directed me here. I would have been so disappointed to have missed it!

Jordan's drawings are AMAZING!! That girl has loads of talent. And great score on the Contemporary Tower room! My DH would be SO jealous! You know we're on that same wish list you are.:rolleyes1

I'm right there with you. Thanks for the lift!;)
