$1500 package

Is it really possible to do WDW for a family of 4 on this package? I've looked at it and realize I can upgrade to a moderate w/the dining plan for around $2400. So, not counting souviner money, is this feasable? We will be driving.

Part of it depends on your family and how much they eat. We went last year on the DDP. We had 2 adults, 1 child who was an adult on the dining plan and 1 child who was a child. We usually split 2 CS for breakfast, and 2 more CS for lunch. Then we had a nice TS dinner. We also sometimes split 3 TS meals between the 4 of us so we had credits left for a character meal the last day. But if your kids are teenage boys, for example, or too picky to share meals then that might not work.

The one thing we did pay extra for was cold water and ice cream -- we went in August and I couldn't see paying thousands of dollars for a "dream vacation" and then drinking lukewarm tap water we had lugged from the hotel.

I'd look at the menus to make sure there are things you'd enjoy sharing, but yes, I'd say you could do the trip with just a couple of hundred extra dollars for souveniers, gas, and water.

We did the free dining last Sept. The plan had plenty of food,snacks,drinks. We brought insulated bottles into the park. We packed them full of ice with water or gatorade. We had plenty of snacks credits left to use for our drive home We didn't plan it that way. We were just so busy having fun we would lose track of time and forget about snacking Our week stay at POR was under $2000.00 and we didn't spend any extra $ on food. Only a couple small token souvenirs for the children. Hope you plan a wonderful trip

Our kids will be 5 and 3 when we go. So they aren't able to whine about sharing. So I think the dining plan will be a good way to go. I look forward to hearing other accounts of package deals.
