Good Morning!
I had a fantastic eating day yesterday, I just didn't realize it as it was happening. I had two diet waffles w/pb for breakfast, an apple and Kashi bar for lunch (and this was while sitting through a football game, watching my dh eat hotdogs!), a single piece of cheese pizza, four cheese ravioli, a 2x3 piece of bruschetta, and a Lindt ball. The reason it is so fantastic is that when I got on the scale this morning, I am down to one pound more than my pre-vacation weight! I'm been losing ever since I announced I gained six pounds, and Tara set me straight. Boy, was she right! My weigh-in isn't until Wednesday, and were it not for TOM's approach, I feel confident I would definitely be back to my pre-weight. We'll see what TOM does, but I'm feeling pretty good about things. Linda, I am coming! I'm at 171.5 today, and I predict we are going to the 160s together in the next few days!
I also finally got back on the treadmill. I can breathe well enough through this cold to walk, so I just had to get back on, otherwise I'd have another clothes rack...
Today should go well. I'm eating all my meals at home, and that really helps. I haven't exactly figured how we're going to fit this all in today, but we're going to make a meal plan, go grocery shopping, go to church, and get ready for next week. I'm also ready for another session on the treadmill. My problem is we haven't been to church in a long time (long story, we're in the process of finding a new church), and I've taken to grocery shopping on Sunday mornings, when the crowds are down. I grocery shop, work out, and then relax and get ready for the next week in the afternoons. Well, that's going to have to change. It's really important to me that my family attends church together, so I'm going to have to adapt. This week it's not too bad, but once my Pats start playing on Sundays, our schedule gets even more crowded. I may have to think this one through...
Ah, back to the trip report --
Day 3: Even though we had decided to take the day off, I was up at 6:45. This is still sleeping in an hour for me, so I guess that's o.k. I decided to go for a walk around the grounds. I knew how to get to the Boardwalk, but wasn't sure what happened after that. I ended up walking through the Swan and Dolphin, around Fantasia Gardens, and then taking a loop that took me past the Yacht Club and Beach Club. I turned around when it ended and came in through the Beach Club villas. It was a nice walk, but not overly long. No one else out exercising...
When I got back to our room my ds was up and ready to do something, and my dh was still sleeping, and wanted to stay that way. DS and I had breakfast bars in the room, and then I decided to take him over to Epcot, to see if we could manage to ride Soarin'. Everything I read said this was going to be almost impossible to do in a short time period, but I figured we'd try. We went over to the International Gateway for the opening, and my ds was delighted to be chosen the Disney Ambassador of the Day. Before the rope dropped, he faced the crowd and said "Welcome to Epcot". They gave him a certificate, and this made his day. Then we hustled up to the Land, and we're able to get FPs with a return time of between 10:20 and 11:20. The line was 15 minutes, and ds insisted he wanted to ride it now. I explained we were going to have to wait in line, and he said he could do it. Lines are not his strongsuit. We waited, and quickly were seated in the first row of the ride. We both really enjoyed it. I can't see waiting over an hour to ride it, but it was definitely worth 15 or 20 minutes! DS was hungry again afterwards, so we had a snack in the Land, and then headed out to ride Spaceship Earth. I found it to be extremely lame. He'd never been on it before, so ds thought it was o.k., but wasn't particularly impressed. It just looks like it should be so much more from the outside!
We went into one of the Innoventions and he had fun doing some of the interactive things. He had no interest in riding TT or MS, so we went back to Soarin' and used our FPs. Then we headed back to our room to meet dh. We were hungry again, so we went to Beaches and Cream for lunch. Again, I found it to be fine, but not the mecca everyone had been describing. I enjoyed my ice cream after my burger. My dh said his salad was pretty scary, but he liked the soup. We wanted to swim after lunch, so we spent the afternoon at SAB. Again, I can't say enough about the pool. It really was a nice place to relax.
We had reservations at Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot, so we headed over about 5. We visited a few of the pavilions, and made it a point to go in the store at Japan. DS was very excited that they had Pokemon, and added to his growing collection. While we were in Norway, my ds asked "Where are the Norwegian Supermodels?". This was good for a great laugh from me and dh. DH asked ds to please let him know if he spotted any. Dinner at Morocco was delicious. I had 4 kinds of baklava for dessert. Yum! I also really enjoyed the mint iced tea. DH and I both thought the couscous was quite exceptional. We got out of Epcot before the crowds built for Illuminations. We were back in our room ready to rest, and we were able to see some of Illuminations from our balcony. I scheduled that Mickey wakeup call, and we were ready to sleep.
Redbudlover -- WELCOME! We are always happy to have a new person. I hope your health continues to improve. You're already in the 160s, so I know you can do it!
Nikki - You are doing it! Congratulations!! That's two pounds gone forever. Woohoo!
Jean -- It sounds like there's never a dull moment with all the little (or not so little) beasties running around. Also lots of great opportunities for exercise!
Debra -- I am so proud of you for doing the walking! I know you are enjoying that special time with your dh. I know you will break through soon. How are the carrots holding out? I'm envious about your trip next weekend. It sounds like a lot of fun!
Tara -- Hey, if you need the Slimfast, you should do it. My soup dinners are paying off. It's kind of boring, but I don't feel guilty. We are going to get to the 160s. I have no doubt that we are all going to be so happy come Christmas. We're going to weigh less than we dreamed was possible last year! Have a fabulous trip! And a very Happy Birthday!

We will miss you!
Linda -- You don't have to wait for me, I promise to catch up! I know you are going to break through the plateau very soon. It's so frustrating to be so close...but we are going to get there. Even with TOM, we're just going to look him in the eye and say, "Ha! This is my body and I'm keeping control!".

Well, it sounded good. I'm always hopeful...Your job sounds impossibly frustrating, because at the end of the day they are all still children, so how mad can you get?! Wow, the fact that you keep going back shows you have the tenacity to achieve whatever you set your mind to!
A big howdy to everyone else! Today, I drink all my water!
