Hi!
I really did get on the treadmill for 70 minutes, and I really haven't eaten anything after dinner, so I guess I'm good for tonight. I'm stressed because I have my yearly gyno visit Thursday, and who wants to do that?! It's never as bad as I think it will be. But, I didn't lose the 15 pounds I was supposed to -- o.k., I lost them, but I know I've gained some back...Unfortunately, I just didn't hold it together during or after my trip. On the bright side, I think I've learned from this vacation, and I will do better next time.
So, without further adieu, Day 3:
We had a 7 a.m. Mickey wakeup call, ds was really into answering the phone being his job! After our usual breakfast in the room, we caught the bus to the Magic Kingdom. Once again, we quickly made it through all our scheduled rides. DS rode Space Mountain for the first time and loved it so much, we did it again. I have now experienced Stitch's Great Escape, and could have skipped it. But, ds loved it, so I guess it pleases it's audience. I really liked Mickey's Philharmagic, I thought it was a lot of fun. We also saw Cinderellabration. It was very enjoyable, even if Belle and the Beast were missing. Finished with the Magic Kingdom, we headed back to the monorail and went to Epcot. We had lunch at the Electric Umbrella, then back to the BC for a swim. Later we headed over to Disney Studios, which doesn't seem to have changed much since we were here in 1993. DS loved Star Tours and Muppetvision 3-D, he didn't really get the Great Movie Ride, but he had a great time at the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. By this point, dh was getting pretty sick of Ariel. Everywhere we went, she was singing "Ah ah ah..." you know how it goes. We had an early reservation for dinner at Hollywood & Vine, which I found to be a decent Southern buffet. Lots of food I haven't had in years, like sweet potatoes in a bourbon sauce. My dearly departed MIL wouldn't have known a sweet potato if it bit her. Just not a vegetable you see up North. Sometime, I'll tell you about the joys of the New England Boiled Dinner. On my first visit to NE, before I was married, she made it and I had to somehow get it down. Pot roast, potatoes, peas, onions, all boiled together without a speck of salt, sauce or spice. It was tasteless, just the way they like it. I really love and miss my MIL, just not her boiled dinners. But I digress...We had the Fantasmic Dinner Package, which I recommend. It's nice to get in early and have a definite seat, without having to wait in line for an hour or more. The show was probably the best we saw at the parks. It has action, characters, fireworks, etc., and ds was absolutely enchanted.
After the show we took the boat back to the BC. We put ds to bed, then dh and I did our final packing, as we were leaving the next day. We were all ready for the cruise portion of our vacation...Day 4.
Tomorrow I have to be out of the office to go to the City's permitting dept. I have to take a cab both ways, which is a little further than I like to go. Plus, I'm trying to schedule this meeting with all these people for Wed., and it's driving me crazy. Did I mention I got an e-mail from our President today asking me to listen to an audio conference that lasts past my work hours? It wasn't like I could say no, but I am so not looking forward to it. This week is nuts anyway, ds's school Open House is Wednesday at 6:30, which is really hard for us. We are usually eating then, which means we will end up having takeout and ds will get to bed late. Grumble, grumble, grumble. You would never know I love my job, and I am fortunate to be blessed with a happy, healthy child. I think sometimes we have to complain to see how good we have it.
So, my plan for tomorrow is:
B: Kashi bar and banana (4 pts)
L & S: PB sandwich, apple, craisins, 100 calorie Honey Grahams (12 pts)
D: Tuna Casserole or Soup (4 pts), Lindt ball (2 pts)
Just gotta say one more time -- Kathy, you are awesome! You should be so proud of yourself!
Gotta get to bed at a decent hour. I'm going to catch up more and C'ya real soon!
