You know what? I was so thinking the same thing about writing our meals on here. I was too embarrassed to nominate myself to start it though! lol!

Jen I am sure you can do it! Along with being an advisor to two clubs, teacher of 53 fifth grade students, member of two committees, and in grad school, I have scheduled myself four days out of the week that are not as busy so I can walk or do fat-burning yoga.

It is amazing but I actually ate subs and pizza this week and evened my other meals out to compensate and still lost 2.5 pounds! I know you all can do it!

Thanks, Debra...TOM is going to be here next week...can a person gain BEFORE he hits? Just a question and thanks!!

Thanks for stopping the wagon, Lisa! Whoo...let's hop back on together. Holy COW!! I would've enjoyed that, too...but it's over and as you said in my journal-Today is a new day!

WOW, Nikki! I applaud you for doing all of that! Kudos...I'm going to have to schedule some more me time, aren't I? ::yes:: You're doing absolutely PHENOMINAL!!

L: 40 ounces of water (and a faux pas)...a cup of pasta with tomatoes, lots of Garlic (the faux pas...stinky breath! :p) and tuna! 8 points.

Ok I don't have a clue what is wrong with me. I have gained another pound this week. I am changing up my exercise routine maybe that will help a little. I joined the gym at my apartment building this week. The past two days I have gotten up at 5:30AM and walk to the gym. I work out from 6 to 7. I do the eliptical trainer, some treadmill work, and then I do some weight lifting. The weight machines are great. I never thought I would like weight lifting, but I love it. I use dumbells with my aerobics tapes, but have never actually used the machines. I know I will be gaining muscle since I am lifting more weights so I am going to try not to weigh very often. I already have pretty good muscle tone from doing squats and dumbell work so I don't know if doing the weight lifting is going to do any good or not. I hope everyone is doing well. Have a wonderful weekend!!! :earboy2:

lajones81- Hello! :wave2: I was just wondering if you like being an elementary teacher? I am going to school in January and plan on majoring in elementary education. I am so excited, but I am also nervous because I am almost 24 and have been out of school for a few years now. I just hope it is like riding a bicycle and will be easy to get back into the groove of school. Anyways, good luck with the school year and have a great time with your kids!! :goodvibes

Yes, that is when you gain. You are 'holding' water and then usually after it comes you start to lose that weight.

Weight losses are not linear. You will have ups and downs. If you could weight just once a month, you would be pleased with the results, but daily there are ups and downs. I know to expect it, but it is still disappointing when it happens (like today I had a .5 gain, but I know it is just water weight shifting back and forth and tomorrow it could be gone again, or it may not, but in a week it should be gone if I stay on track).

If you stay on track, you will lose weight. I have done Weight Watchers several times (starting it and stopping it before getting to goal and then going back on again). I never had 2 weeks without a lose, but sometimes there was a week I didn't lose any or would even see a little gain--but I always remind myself to wait one more week and sure enough I would see a drop (if I stayed on program).

Hang in there! It will happen if you stay on program. REALLY! It WILL! :teeth:

My DH and I were students for years (he got an MA and a PhD and I got an MBA in my 30s). He and I have also taught several college classes. We would both say that older students make better students than the younger ones. I had some great younger students, but my favorite class to teach was my evening class where I had a good mix of younger and more mature students. The ones that had been out on their own for awhile brought great life experiences with them. You will be fine.

I have to say that I enjoyed (and did better at) my MBA studies in my early 30s than I did with my BA (which I got right out of high school). My MBA means so much more to mean, and I learned so much more because I put a lot more into it.

You will do great!

Thanks so much. That really helps me alot!! :sunny:

I agree!!! GO FOR IT!!! My dh is 38 and starting his MBA...you're never too old/young for doing something new and challenging...plus I think you contribute alot to the other classmates with the experiences you've already had.

Oh tonight TANKED with eating...I had the cheeseburger..not so bad...put lettuce/onion/pickle and swiss on it with whole wheat bun...but then I had about 10 french fries...I'm still thinking...not so bad..then I had about 30 peanut M&M's and a slice of some fruit bavarian creme cake...I don't even like creme! UGH! Okay that's it...low carbing tomorrow to kick this sugar binge I've been on the past 3 TOM days!!! It should be GONE by tomorrow! :)

Everyone....keep posting all the GOOD things you're eating so I start thinking right! :)
Tara

Belle-I must have missed you! Welcome to the 150 Club!

I didn't do so well with my eating last night (I'm cutting a few teeth, which stopped me from going over board) I had a chicken quesadilla and maybe 12 or less chips and salsa because the spicy/crunchy mix was hurtin'!

Good Morning Fellow Recovering Foodies!! :sunny:

My name is Linda and I am a Foodaholic (Foodie for short). My illness is emotionally driven and I am ready to STOP THIS INSANITY!! :goodvibes

I am 5'1" and weigh 170.5 lbs. I am at the top of the size 14 range. According to most weight charts my healthy range is 125 - 132 so I need to lose 40 pounds or there abouts. I would also like to get into single digit clothing but would be happy with a 10. I want to tuck my shirts in and like what I see!! I want to feel good ABOUT ME!!! :sunny: :sunny: MOST IMPORTANT - I want to live a long, healthy productive life!!

Yesterday was a good day!! :cool1: :cool1: I have started counting calories and my day ended with 1560 calories consumed. I didn't have 3 regular meals (too much going on) BUT I did journal everthing that went in my mouth and have started today as well :cool1: :cool1:

Goals for today -

Keep journaling my food.
Making myself accountable to ME AND TO MY FELLOW RECOVERING FOODIES!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Don't eat after 8pm except for popcorn - I have learned that if I tell myself I can have popcorn - it seems to ease the craving and if I must eat popcorn is a good choice.

Not even worrying about exercise right now.

What will go wrong today is the 8pm limit. Going to the famous wedding where I have to buy nylons!! :rotfl: Will be depressed when I have to buy Queen size and then figure out a way to bunch the extra length. My height and weight are not on the charts of the nylon sizes........must be why I hate nylons :rotfl:

Wedding ceremony doesn't start until 6pm so there is no way I will be done eating by 8pm. How do I count the calories? I know my entree is chicken stuffed with cranberry (cranberry what I have no clue). Decided the best plan of attack is to eat 1/2 of anything served..........HELP!!!!!!! :confused3 Looking for ideas!!!!

On my way to recovery!! :bounce:

Jen - Ouch on the teeth - is it your wisdom? There is so much going on in your life at the beginning of school. Just take it one step at a time and keep packing those lunches. I also pack lunch for myself - if I ate what was offered at the school cafeteria I would have even more weight to deal with. ;)

Tara - Come on - I"M WAITING FOR YOU!!!!! Holding at 170.5 - Let's do the 160s together!!!!!! :cheer2: Together we can ruuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnn :moped: :moped: through the 160s into the 150s and for me even beyond!!!! Here my hand - come join me!! :p

Belle - You will do GREAT in school........wanting to go back is half the battle.!!! When do you start?

Debra - You will be in those smaller pants in no time flat......you have been an inspiration to me. How would you handle the wedding issue and counting calories? Keep doing what you are doing? You have the right formula for you!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Lisa and Nikki - How did the week go with the classes? Lisa even you ever need to vent about kids - hear I am :listen: :listen: Keep drinking!! And eating right.......Hawaiian Luaus............yummy!!

Debra - Are you in Muncie? That is a pretty good size town - they don't have a goodwill or salvation army drop off? How about the local church - can they help with a donation of clothing?

So far this morning I have had

Coffee with 1/2 cup skim milk - 45 c
Cinnamon Sugar Granola Bar - 110c

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Good morning!

Today is a very exciting day! My first friend is getting married! :bride: :groom: Woot woot! :sunny: Right now, I'm feeling so nervous...not because of the marriage, but thinking about what she is doing, what her dress will look like, etc. I'm sorry, but I need some banana dancing for this awesome day!

I have a fitday.com account so check here and I'll post my eats in this journal: http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJournals.html?Owner=schltchr03

Debra - Tell me about the Saturday morning pizza eating! ROFL! The weekends tend to be extremely hard for me because there is no structure. At least when I'm working, I have a planned snacktime, lunchtime, etc.

Tiger - Personally, I am not a fan of the wagon...I've upgraded our ride to a fantastic stretch Hummer limo. It will make getting back on track even more exciting and fun! ;) Besides, going over the bumps in a wagon was not very comfortable for me...I'm sure our new ride will help out with that! ;)

Belle - I do love my job! I will readily admit that it's a lot of work (but what job doesn't require a lot of work?), but very rewarding. I love the process of seeing my students come into fifth grade as "big fourth graders" - as I like to call them. Then need a lot of time to grow in all areas, but especially responsibility. Our school district feeds into one of the top high schools in the state so the progress they make to become more independent is amazing! I'm going to school myself to get another degree in reading...so I know you can do it! :)

Tara - I can feel the TOM cravings beginning for myself, as well and it's driving me nuts! It seems like everything in sight seems so appealing to my stomach! Ah!

Linda - I have no idea how to count the calories for the wedding today either! The ceremony starts at 4:30pm so I'm planning on an excellent eating plan throughout the beginning of the day...I forgot to ask the bride what the entree is anyways...arg!

And since it seems like a number of us have fallen off the wagon, I've taken it upon myself to get us a new stretch Hummer limo for the road ahead. Enjoy! :)

Today was a very fun, but tiring day. We went shopping for school clothes for me, played pool, went to a Hibatchi with my boyfriend's sister and her friend, and then went bowling. Lots of fun and activitiy. I wound up falling asleep inbetween at my boyfriend's house because I was so exhausted from all of that shopping! But, it was definitely worth it because I got A M A Z I N G prices on shoes at Boscov's! I got FIVE pairs for $59.68!!!! Go me!

My eating was way off yesterday, but when I calculated it all together, it was only over by a tiny bit:

egg beater with cheese 40 c

Smart Ones lunch 220 c

Hibatchi (have to estimate on this one) 500-800? c

Ruffles Fat Free Chips (we were out late....ate these during break in the middle of the day and while the boys were drinking during bowling) 450 c :earseek: :confused3

Water: 100 oz

Total:Maximum of 1510 which is good because I am on a 1500 calorie diet.

I also walked 2.4 miles yesterday morning.

How is everyone else doing? I am getting excited about school starting especially with all of the fun clothes I got. I spent WAY too much on clothes (more than you could ever imagine trust me lol), but figure I will be good until January.

Today, I need to get my nails done, eyebrows waxed, and hop on over to Party City to check something out for school. I plan on doing fat-burning yoga today, but may push it to tonight. I'm still pretty exhausted right now from yesterday's activities.

Hope everyone is doing well! :)

My dad uploaded my first day of school picture! (Yes, even teachers take back to school pictures! ;) )

I thought you all might like to see! :)

Yesterday wasn't too bad (could have been a lot worse). Weekends are SO hard for me. Mostly because the kids and DH are home ALL DAY (and this weekend it is for 3 days!). I usually get cookies are snack food for the weekend for them to have (this week Oreos were on sale at Meijers 2/$3--so far I haven't had any--AND they are Double Stuffed! :guilty: ).

Saturday is always my worse day, but this weekend I am sure that today will be bad too because of the changed schedule.

We usually eat out on weekends, but so far this weekend we haven't done that. The eating out really gets me. I am not going to suggest it and if no one else brings it up, maybe I will be safe. I have been going back and forth on the same 2 pounds for a week now and I really want it to just be off for good!

Oh, and yes, we have a Goodwill to drop off clothes and I could do that any time (have done it a lot in the past). I just haven't been able to let go of my 'fat' clothes because I keep thinking I may need them again and I don't want to have to buy new clothes if the weight comes back. BUT if I could give them to someone who really needs them from the hurricane I wouldn't hesitate to give them up.

As for what I am eating this weekend? Nothing that good. Really, just the same old, same old. Haven't found anything new and exciting since trying thos sour cream and cheddar light lays potato chips. Those are SO yummy!

Great picture! You look so nice! That one is a keeper!

lajones81-Thanks so much I think I am going to have a great time going back to school. Good luck to you also with your back to school adventure! By the way you look great on your first day of school picture!! :cheer2:

chrismiss56- Thanks so much I go back this coming January!

Today I am getting back on my calorie counting the past few days I fell of the wagon. I am planning on having about 1200 calories today! Good luck everyone! :cheer2:

Afternoon -

Lunch is a Roast Beef Sandwich for 190 calories - 3oz of Sugar Snap Peas for 40 calories and 17 Light Chips for 70 calories - Grand total - 300 Calories for Lunch

Grand total of the day - 555 calories!!

Ok.........help with wedding dinner please!!!!!!

Have a Magical Disney Day

Linda

Hi Linda!!! It's a couple of molars coming in...awfully annoying to eat...then stop. I've been trying to stick to soft bland foods...

Lisa-AWESOME picture!!!! Thanks for that Hummer limo! I love it!! The TOM cravings are coming out for me too! You know those commercials where they have that Ranch tooth? yeah, I love those commercials and I had a really Ranch-y day when I went out to eat at lunch!

I also went jeans shopping yesterday. I'm technically a size 18, but those are a little wide and the 16's are a little snug! Real jeans!! I can't believe it! Size 18 and proud of it, baby!!

I, too, am a recovering foodie. 5 ft, 4 inches...as of today, 178. My goal is to live a long healthy and productive life. I want to at least be at 175 by my 60-day mark for Disney...September 14.

Goals for today:
Lots of water drank
Hem the jeans
Find the book I need for school!! (We're reading Tuesdays with Morrie in my English class and some totally random fool took my book! What's worse is I had my homework in it and there will be a quiz Tuesday! AAAAAAAAARGH! We have a copy of it here at home, but I gotta find it!)
Stay on track
No eating after I eat dinner as dinner time varies each night!

B: 2 cups of cereal (4 points)
L: at a Pizza Buffet...1 slice Roast Beef and Ranch Pizza (3), 1 slice pepperoni pizza (3), a salad with low-cal Ranch (i think it was low-cal, anyway)...and 3 breadsticks with ranch (6). I think I did VERY VERY WELL!! I mean, I drank enough water to make an elephant have to go potty. My meter was set at "comfortably full".

I also am going to start a walking program...15 minutes a night every night for a week, work up to 30, 45, and finally 60. Disney is my incentive!! Speaking of which...100 days!

Evening

Off to the wedding........Nylons made it on.....but the dress doesn't look as good as it did when I bought......or is that my self esteem talking. :confused3 :confused3 My DH doesn't know how to give a compliment - not in his genetic makeup......so I am on my own.....

Did I mention that I HATE nylons!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Mantra for the evening.....must stay strong and keep drinking my water.......

Have a good one.

And as always a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Hi all! :)

Great picture, Lisa! :Pinkbounc

Here's my calorie count for the day:

Smart Ones Pizza: 330 c

Pita chips & cheese: 220 c

Wheat pasta & grilled chicken parm: 800 c (big estimate...more than likely much less than this!)

Fat free Turkey Hill Smoothie ice cream: 100 c

Total: 1410 c
