Belle! You are on your way!!! My highest was 258 and when I joined WISH I was 241...the first 20 came off fairly quickly for me but it took a month to lose 4 pounds...but then that plateau ended and I sailed on through to Onederland...then I hit another plateau...I think your body just needs time to adjust. So don't despair...I think changing things up really help, too....I find by having a "full calorie" day helps shock my system out of plateau mode...I try not to eat poorly but just a full 2000 calorie day...lots of veggies/fruits/grilled meats and whole grains...then jump back down to 1200 calories and it jump starts....a big key for me is cuttin out white flour products and sugar products...when I totally cut those two things out and limit my caffeine I lose! The exercises you're doing will go FAR in keeping a steady loss...hang in there..you're doing it!!

Debra! I agree with you on the water....when I drink it I feel more energetic and I feel less bloaty...I just forget to remind myself to DRINK!!! I think I'm part camel. But my humps are in my hips not my back!

REGINA!! How sweet!! I bet that parade was a special memory!!! Awww..15 years with dh! You sound like us! My dh and I met 15 years ago this September...and tomorrow is our 13th anniversary!!! :) YAHOO!!!!
ANd What??? No dancing for that pound GONE!!!????       A pound is GONE let's celebrate!!! :) YAHOO!!!!

Linda...uh oh uh oh...UH OH!!! Are you officially a master vacationer loser??? You are already at preweight in less than a week???? THAT IS AWESOME!!!! I'm trying my BEST to catch up to you!!! I was still 175.8 today....I'm hoping I"ll follow you into the 160's!!! SHOW ME THE WAY BABY!!! :)

Lisa!!!! Great to see you back! It's hard starting a new year and getting all those organizing routines down...and don't knock a gain of a pound..heck, sometimes I turn around clockwise and the scale shows a gain!!! Did you try weighing with more pressure on your right foot and less on your left and your right arm on your hip and your left arm crooked behind your head????? That sometimes works for me :teeth:

GREAT NEWS GUYS!!! I bought a body girdle with strapless bra for my bridesmaid dress...it was a hoot getting it on but it made the dress look sooo nice on me!!! :) If I can get 5-9 pounds off by then I'll feel even BETTER!!! :) And even better news..I thought, hey let's just try on those "goal" jeans (the one that when I slip easily into will mean I"m at goal) and I could zip/button with little effort..pulling them up and on my hips wasn't as smooth but THEY GOT ON!!! I think I'm within a 20 pound reach of my GOAL!!! I may just stop in the 150's if those fit nicely then!!! :) AND I found a bathing suit...kicking myself bc I could have saved 30% if I'd bought it yesterday but it looks halfway decent and funnily, they only had lime green/black left in that style...so I'll be a DIS'er swimmer! :) Trying on clothes is a GREAT motivator to STICK to the losing ways!!! I highly recommend it! :)

Staying up trying to see what happens with this hurricane...looks like my am walk will be washed out...cardio pilates will have to suffice! :)

Have a great Monday guys!
Tara

Morning Losers!!

First day of work - 4th graders at one of the districts more challenging schools. :upsidedow :faint: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Plus it will be the first day that Cody is by himself in the crate for 7 hours. Who wants to bet that the cats will taunt him the whole time he is in the crate?? :paw: :rotfl2:

Packed a sandwich (shaved ham and turkey) grapes and 15 fat free Pringles (sour cream and onion) and some carrots for lunch.

Had one egg, one slice of bread (45 calories a slice) and one shaved slice of ham for breakfast with a small cup of yogurt.

Don't know the calories but doesn't sound too bad?

Tara - You really are going to have to post pictures of the bridesmaid dress. Everyone is going to be lookin at you instead of the bride. :cool1: :cool1: Cardiopilates - Whew - makes me tired just thinking about it.:)

Jen - what did you do for your birthday? Hope it was a GREAT TIME!! :Pinkbounc

Looking at the clock - time to go get ready.

Everyone - have a LOSING day!! :flower:

And of course a Magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:
Linda

Good morning everyone. For any of you in Katrina's path I pray you stay safe and dry.

I weighed last night and I am down another 2lbs. That puts me know in the 180's. I must say it was very exciting to see that. My goal for this week is 3lbs so I will have lost 10 all together. Hopefully I can do it. I exercised 6 days last week. Yesterday I used weights. Today I am paying for it-OUCH!! I am a bit sore but plan on trying to work out today as well. My DH said "no pain no gain". I reminded him I didn't want to "GAIN" but I knew what he was talking about. He has been so encouraging and supportive.

We had a pretty relaxing weekend which was nice, not the usual busyness for a change. We did have some drama last night. When we got home from church my DH accidentally closed the car door on DS's hand. His poor little fingers turned black and blue and were swollen for a little bit. It was quite traumatic. He is fine though, no broken bones or anything. With a little bit of Motrin and a good nights sleep he is perfectly fine.

Tara-Woo Hoo on the "goal jeans". How exciting!!!

Jen-I hope your birthday was great!!

Linda-hope your first day goes well. 4th grade YIKES!! I just discovered fat free pringles this weekend. YUM

Belle-Welcome to the group. I am fairly new myself. Everyone here is so encouraging and nice. Glad you can be a part.

Well everyone I hope ya'll have a GREAT week.

Haley

OK, I have to ask. I am down to a weight that I would be comfortable with, BUT I still have a big tummy! I really couldn't lose more than 10 more pounds (and maintain it--I just never could live the life of a stick person), but I am starting to wonder if this is something that just doesn't go away! I did have twins 12 years ago, and put on my weight 3 years after that.

Will the tummy go away, or do you just have to live with it after having twins and carrying around all this extra weight for 10 years?

Debra

Hi All! :)

Debra, you might want to concentrate the majority of your exercising on that specific area...lots of crunches, etc. I am sure that will harden and tone. I like to use Fat Burning Yoga by the CRUNCH Workout series. It has a nice concentration on toning the mid-section and abs.

I am proud of everyone! Good work and keep it coming!

Belle, you remind me so much of myself. I started WISH at the end of July at a weight of 246 pounds. I am now at 228! :) You can do it!

Well, today I am going to relax a bit. I will get yoga in before I run to the post office as I did not make it in time on Saturday. Tomorrow I have a workshop at school which will last through the rest of the week. At $40/hour I think I can sacrifice a little vacation time! :rotfl:

Hope everyone continues to do well! You rock! :grouphug:

Linda! Hopefully Cody will aggravate those kitties and make them think they're missing out on that wonderful condo of his! :)

Haley!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc     CELEBRATE!!! You're in a WHOLE NEW 10's!!!! 180's will be the shortest stint in any 10's for you I predict! :) GREAT working with weights...it's sooo good for your bones!!! Don't worry if the scale doesn't move this week while doing weights...you could trade fat for muscle and not see a loss but will see it in your measurements...when I started doing that much exercise I really had to measure to see gains...while I've only lost 4 pounds in 4 weeks that I've been doing the 26 miles walking...I've lost 9 inches in that time!! It really makes a difference!

Debra...the tummy will leave bits at a time...it may take a year for your body to "adjust" but the skin and all the pieces will readjust and look better...like the rest of the gang said...concentrate on good ab exercises...I LOVE all the cardio pilates DVD's I've found at Costco...they're really good and I can tell that my tummy is on it's way! Of course a miraclesuit bathing suit helps! :)

Nikkibell!!! You should be SOO proud of clearing through 2 sets of tens' (240's, 230's) and never seeing them again!!!! I'm on a NEW NUMBER mission..I want to see numbers that are new and haven't seen in years...even if I just lose 1 pound a week...as long as it's a NEW number I feel I"m winning this battle! :)

I did an hour of strengthening on FITtv with dumbbells and exercise ball..didn't someone here ask what exercises to do with a ball? This lady is BUFF and my biceps are killing me but she had some cool exercises...I'm going to try and walk the track tonight at son's football practice if we don't get rained out!

Thank you so much it is good to know I will get over it. I weighed this morning and lost the 1 pound I put on and another one on top of that. I am going to follow your advice and do the 2000 calorie day. Thank you everyone for your positivity I love it!! Tara I am sure you will look awesome in your dress! :cheer2:

Haley: This is so great! I know how excited I get everytime I see a 'new' 10s. Two pounds is a great loss too. 1-2 pounds a week (after that first week of dropping water weight) is a good amount to lose. Keep it up!

Linda & Lisa: I think you both have such great attitudes about your jobs! I think teachers have one of the hardest but also one of the most important jobs in the world. Linda, let us know how Cody did today.

Tara: I do hope you find a way to post a picture of yourself in your dress when the wedding comes around.

Thanks everyone for the 'tummy' advice. I am going to try to lose 10 more pounds and I put an Abs video on reserve at the library and will give that a try to see if it helps.

I hope no one is in harm's way with the hurricane today. Do we have anyone on here near the path of the storm? I have been watching CNN and it doesn't look good at all.

Debra

Congratulations, Haley!!!!!!

My birthday was great. I tried to eat a "regular meal" at Olive Garden and my body totally rebelled against it. I stayed home and watched movies I got...and did Dance Dance Revolution!!! What a grand workout!

Good afternoon!

Well, today was a pretty good day at work! I have a few boys that are going to give me a run for my money this year, but they are good kids overall...just a little rowdy!

It sounds like everyone has had some amazing success stories to tell lately! :) Awesome! I love reading the ups and downs of everyone, as I can so relate!

I did excellent with packing my good lunch and two snacks for work, but was starving by the time I came home from work. I'm still trying to figure out how much I need to eat and when.

Oh, I would tell you how many steps I took today, but I forgot to put my pedometer on! Oops!

Keep working hard and kick those pounds to the curb! :)

Lisa

Trying my best to not eat another Lay's sour cream and onion chip...the bag is just sitting there..they're over a week old but they still have a pull on me! Could it be that TOM started today..of all days on my anniversary...yuck! I've had about 6 chips...all in all not bad but boy I could probably finish that thing off!

Bad realty day...the buyers realtor called and said she was demanding our fridge back...she said it "came with the house"...well, they did not list it in their contract and they did list the playset so we figured they didn't need it..we went to a lot of trouble having a friend take it to her house and she gave away her old one...what a hassle...so now their realtor wants US to buy them a new fridge! HUH??? We took 20k off the house to sell it...they're replacing our 3 year old corian counters with granite $$$ so I think they can afford a fridge...oh and another light blew a fuse...ugh! Just hope this thing closes WEdnesday...I hate these piddly details!

Lisa...good luck with those little rascals...you'll be surprised and all your patience and encouragment will have helped lead them to a Presidency! :) Keep up the great work on focusing on eating/living like a 150'er!!!

Jen...what I wouldn't give for an Olive Garden salad right now!!! Hmmm...just might have honey pick it up...we're under a tornado watch and it is our anniversary..surely that's an excuse to get a good salad to go! :)

Tara

Hey Tara...

Sorry your having such a hard time of everything, but I know you'll get through it like you always do.

Now as for the refrigerator situation, my understanding is that if it's not listed, than it's not included. You should contact YOUR realtor, but I'm thinking that it's their realtors fault for not being more specific. I wouldn't give it and if you have to, buy a used one.

Evening All!!

This was one hectic day!! 4th grade was good but kept me busy!!

Cody did really well!! He was in his crate from 8am to 330pm. Thank goodness - hope this continues!! :goodvibes :dog: :paw:

Did not do well eating today........just can't seem to say no. Especially when making dinner.

Did say yes to not eating after 8pm!! :cool1: :cool1: But didn't get all my water in today. Was so busy in the classroom I forgot :faint:

The morning was definitely nuttier getting ready and making sure Cody ate breakfast and did his business. Have to work on that.

Don't have a job for tomorrow so hoping the phone will ring tomorrow :listen: Having money panic attacks!! :upsidedow It gets better as the school gets going.........just having anxiety that I won't be called.

Tara- HUGS HUGS and more HUGS for you :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

You need to get your realtor involved. That is what they are getting a commission. If the fridge was not listed than they can't go changing their minds in the 11th hour. Will hold good thoughts for you until Weds.

Take the chips and THROW THEM OUT!! or put them in the freezer. Yes they are comfort food - yes you have your TOM but you have been doing soooooooooooo well........come on I know you can do it.

On the downside for me - I need to call my doctor - being 49 I am in that funky time of my life. Finished my TOM back on August 21st but I am still spotting. Have been on the same meds to regulate me for a couple of years but don't seem to be helping this month...........UGH!! Wish this part were over with:crazy2:

Lisa - Lay down the law with the boys NOW - (well you probably know that:):) you can always back off later. Good Luck and hang in there. Can I ask how much do subs get out by you? You are too far from me to make it worth my while but I am nosy.

How is everyone else doing?

Off to deal with the cramping that I should not be having.........

Tara - praying for you :cloud9: :wizard:

Hope the phone rings tomorrow and I work.

Have a Magical Disney Day

Linda

Linda - I'm 53 and still have not got things completely figured out. I might be closer because the hot flashes are becoming more regular.

Tara - :wizard: that your house closes on Wed. It's the pits trying to sell a house long distance. My last house sale was about 17 years ago. The house was in Montana and we had already moved back to NY. It took almost a year for it to sell. The buyers put some holes in the walls while moving in and wanted us to pay for the repairs. Luckily the realator had taken pictures of every room before they started moving in.

I am back on Long Island until Thurs noon. A short trip this time. My schedule will become more regular as they have hired a full time accountant supervisor for the bookkeeping dept. Based on that, I should only have to come down 1 week a month and possibly 3 weeks at the end of every quarter. My life will get back to some semblence of normal.:banana:

On a good note, one of my co-workers here commented that it looked like I had lost weight in my face because my double chin is basically gone. Another thought I had lost 10 - 15 pounds. I did't think my piddly 6 pounds made that much difference. I guess I look different to people who haven't seen me for almost 3 weeks. I wonder how much different I will look and feel after losing another 25 pounds. So far my self esteem has not improved and I still don't like how I look. I still feel FAT.:confused3 I have always carried my excess weight well. Everyone thinks I am crazy for wanting to lose 25 pounds because they don't realize I weigh as much as I do. For me, losing the weight is totally a self esteem issue. I keep telling myself I will be happier at a lower weight. It also will not hurt me healthwise.

On a happier note, it is only 38 more days until I get to go visit Micky again. I will not take work with me this time. We are planning on doing the Race for the Cure on October 8 while at WDW. I plan on walking it. We used to do the Syracuse race every year as my mother is a 9 year survivor. This will be a little taste of what the 1/2 marathon will be like in January. I had a case of insanity and signed up to do it. DD2 is walking it with me while DD1 is running the whole the following day. Another excuse to visit the Mouse and to get a Donald medal if I don't get swept.

Kathy: That is great that you are walking the Race for the Cure! How awesome! Isn't it nice when people notice you have lost weight. It helps you keep going!

Tara: I don't see how they can expect you to give them something that was not in your contract. Have you talked to your realator? S/he should be able to handle this for you.

Linda: This 'women's changing body' stuff if the pits. I was taking meds because I was having problems too...THEN my doctor quit, just closed up her practice (she has medical problems of her own to deal with), and so I couldn't get my perscription anymore. I am trying some over the counter stuff from Walmart called Estroplus to see if it works for me. I figure it will be a few months before I see the problems come back. I realize I can go to another doctor, but I just hate to go through all that again if there is something I can do for myself. I will probably break down and go to the doctor in a few months because I need a mammogram, so I will talk with them then about my meds. It is SO frustrating though. So I understand!

Things are going alright here, getting use to my girls being in two seperate schools. I don't like it, but I am adjusting. I just hope there is room in the Lab School for my other daughter next year. DH met with the teachers of my DD with the learning disability at the new school yesterday. We are VERY pleased with the plan they have come up with. She will get 1 hour of tutoring after school Mon-Thurs. She will also be allowed twice the time other kids get to take tests, and she can go to the resource room if she needs to do that. We are going to meet after the 9 weeks grading period to see if any adjustments need to be made from there. I am SO thrilled she got into this school. She got a B on her first test she took there! That is so great for her! (It would be like my other DD getting two A+s). Hopefully we have a good year.

Anyway, food wise things are fine, my body is holding on to weight and not wanting to let go right now. I realize this happens and I just need to give it time and it will pass.

Hope everyone has a great day!
Debra

Just checking in, things are going well and I am keeping busy. DS4 started preschool yesterday and everything went great. He was a little shy at the begining, but the teacher said he did great and played well with the other kids. He is excited to go back on Weds.

Kathy!!! I feel like a proud workaholic sponsor pal...when I saw your words (NOT TAKING WORK WITH ME) I GOT so excited!! It's like seeing a person afraid to fly take that first plane ride! :) If you can do that (not take work with you!) I know you can master those last 20-25 pounds!!! And I do think that 6 pounds lost looks like 15 pounds lost when you're heavier...the closer you get to goal the more dramatic each pound will look. Think of it this way...15 pounds lost when I was 258 represented a 6% loss and a 6 pound loss at 170 is almost as much! So enjoy all those compliments!!!

Linda...hoping all the doctor/womanly change thing works out as smoothly as possible....life's so challenging as it is not to have to throw in spastic hormones!!!

Regina! Keeping busy is GREAT for me...I really don't "think" about food and look at it more as fuel to help me get to the next event I have to do. I ate pretty well today but ya know how you know you've had a losing day...well, today didn't seem like losing...too much cheese and bready stuff. Gotta run to grocery for some good veggies/fruits.

I've had two days off of walking with all the weather with Katrina hanging around...but tomorrow it's back to the walking and hopefully back to a losing week! :)
Tara

Evening All!!

Had a good day eating until dinner  Had to wait for DH to come home from golfing and he was running very late (also bringing pizza). By the time he got home I was soooooooooooooooo hungry that I ate waaaaaaaaaaaaay toooooooooooooo many pieces and now feel like a fat cow :faint: Need to work on that when I know he is coming home late.

Got lots of bending, stretching and walking in today. I was the teacher assistant in a special needs pre school 3 and 4 yrs old room. Spent much of the day chasing, playing, wiping butts, wiping noses, lifting kids and running around the park. :rotfl: I was pooped when I got home but enjoyed it - they were soooooooooooo cute :cutie:

Kathy - So glad that you are getting back into a normal routine. You still work too much :teeth: Glad to hear that you are not taking work to WDW - the mouse wants your complete and undivided attention!! :earseek: :earsboy:

Tara - YEA!! You can start walking again. DD21 has been drenched at Indiana University from Katrina. She said she has never been this wet in her life. A small footbridge near one of the buildings washed out. She said it is not suppose to end until after midnight tonight :umbrella: :umbrella: My best friend's son is getting married on Sunday and his aunt lives in Chattanooga and was driving up here on Friday. Now that is in doubt because of the rain. Still nothing compared to what those poor people down south are going through - Pixie dust to them :wizard:

Regina - so glad your son liked preschool......... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc They are sooooooooo cute at that age.

Debra - Glad to hear that things are working out for your family even though it is more hectic for you. Enjoy these times - as crazy as they may be. They go by quickly. :cloud9:

Off to get ready for the morning. Don't have an assignment yet - wishing for the phone to ring :teeth:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Linda

I have been watching CNN for the last two days, and it is so heartbreaking. I am sure everyone else is also concerned about the situation too. Our thread has been very quiet today.

I did want to post that JCPenneys is having a 75% off summer clothes sale today and I stopped in to picked up a couple of things in my new size. It may be a good time to pick up some 'goal' clothes (smaller sized clothes that you will be able to wear when you get to your goal).

Anyway, just wanted to mention it. I know it is hard to think about clothes during a time like this in our country. I hope everyone on here is safe.

Debra

Good evening!

Well, I'm just way too pooped this week! This whole rigid schedule is getting to me! LOL! Today I had to eat lunch in 30 min. and it's killing me! I told my friend I want my three hour lunches back because I could just graze and not have to eat, make copies, figure out what else I need for the afternoon, etc. in that time frame! Oh, well...I guess it comes with the job...I mean I can't complain about having mandatory vacation after all!

I have been eating wonderfully throughout the day, but am still having problems with dinner. Any ideas on how to handle not snarfing everything in sight while I make dinner? Maybe I should start chewing gum or get some of those mints to suck on...thoughts anyone?

Keep up the great work! :)

Lisa
