Oh JEN JEN JEN!!! I totally forgot to respond to your post about your dear mother missing your birthday!!!!! When I read your post it reminded me of when my mother missed my 16th birthday...actually it was pitiful and my parents were going through a very rough time and EVERYONE forgot my birthday!!! But it was especially rough not having my mother there because atleast I knew she'd have remembered...so my heart just aches for ya and I had meant to write a long post to you privately...but I'll just put it here...We'll all play your mom for the day!!!! LET US KNOW when your birthday is and we'll all say motherly things and surround you with mom statements to help take off the low point of missing the real thing!

You are such a gem and an inspiring force to all of us and while we can't share in the real birthday cake we can certainly dream up some virtual cakes and candles to celebrate with! :) I'll try and work on a poem or limerick for ya!!! :)

Man, Nikkibell! I like that equation...I need to eat 2250 to maintain that goal weight...that will be NICE!!!! I really try to eat under 2000 calories and it's nice to know that if I keep up my walking that I can eat that and maintain!!! :)

Have a great Friday everyone!!! I did stick to my commitment of no nutter butters today...but forgot to remind myself no Reese's either! :)

Tomorrow NO SUGAR JUNK!!!! :)
Tara

Good morning fellow losers.

I haven't figured out how to exercise consistently. :guilty: I get home from work and feel exhausted. i know if I keep moving I will feel better, but once I set down I don't get motivated again to move. I haven't been sleeping all that well either and I can't blame it on the heat. The nights have been cooling the house off nicely. I know that exercise will help me sleep but the motivation is not there.

Need to get headed to work. This afternoon Erin and I are going to the NY State Fair. the main reason we are going is to see the toothpick village made but one of my former personal trainers. From what his wife says, it is fairly elaborate.

Will check in later. Have a great day. Drink lots of water. :drinking1 :drinking1

Come on with us to Disney!!! And I need more swimsuit ideas....trying to find some boyshorts that will be more concealing than the skirts that look awful on me...oh, I can't wait to be at GOAL next summer and not have to worry about these thighs! :)

Tara

I wish I could come with you! You will just have to give us a report when you get back so it will be like we were there with you!

BTW, DH talked me into ordering that swimsuit I posted:

http://www.landsend.com/cd/fp/prod/...l?CM_MERCH=PAGE_10433&sid=8251115865740191680

I just LOVE it! I can honestly say it is the first swimsuit that looks good on me! My DD even looked at me in it and said WOW MOM! That swimsuit is so slimming (OK, I am sold!). I ordered the Long Torso and am glad because I am tall and I didn't want a seperation of the top to the shorts. I got it in red, and it is really cute. Now I haven't swam in it yet, I am taking it with us to our get away weekend next month for the girls' birthday, so I will know then how it is in the water.

It took less than a week to get here.

I broke down and had 1 slice of pizza last night too (frozen, but still good). Sometimes you just have to have a piece of pizza! :goodvibes

Debra

Debra - like you new swimsuit. I got one very similar to it at LL Bean before my June trip to WDW. I only got to wear it once as I was too busy working the rest of the time. Mine has pockets as the bottom is like a pair of shorts I would actually were out in public and not just for swimming. Here is a picture of the one I got.

Don't worry about the pizza. You satasfied a craving and didn't go wild and eat the whole thing.

Have to get back to work. Have a great day.

You guys are GREAT!!!! I've got to get those bathing suits!!! Please have a sale in a week! :)

Kathy...can you exercise in the morning? I just can't bring myself to do anything after our "day" is done..I'm pooped!! The first 2 weeks of getting up at 5:30 were really hard but now it's a habit that is just part of my day like brushing my teeth....I just hope I can keep it up when the winter weather comes in here! :)

I had scrambled eggs for breakfast and am going to try and find a salad for lunch...ate all my salad two days ago...I still have cole slaw left, though. Have a great day gang!

Hi

Just a quick note that I am BACK AGAIN!! :rotfl: This time to stay home for a while - I hope.

Trip and move in went well. She is in a 4 story walk up and on the 4th floor.......... :rotfl2: Talk about exercise

On the downside I didn't eat as well - kind of grabbing on the run and the scale once again reflects it - :guilty: 173.5 from 170.5 in just under 48 hours. Has to be water weight.

Well everyone is back where they should be so now is the time to focus on me spiritually, physically and financial.....looking for peace in all three areas :sunny: :flower:

So starting to today it is all about ME!!!!!!

Have to start organizing and laundry - will catch up on postings later.

I AM BACK IN THE GAME :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc :teeth:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Hi All,

Not much to report. I'm a little bugged because a few people over at the VMK forum are being pretty nasty to me off and on Dis. Blah. Maybe I will have a report later.

Linda!!! WHEW!!! 4 flights of stairs!!! My quads would be killing me right now! :) Plan a lot of visits to your dd and you'll have the gams of an Olympian! Glad you're back and do you even have to guess that 3 pounds is water weight???? You'll be knocking on the 160's sooo soon!!! And I can't wait to see that day when you post that! :)

Nikkibell..we have to remind ourselves that every moron can have access to a computer...these boards are not like the crew of friends you've chosen in your life and behave decently...you get the whole zoo here. Best thing to do is to let them do their piece...and don't get pulled into it...there are lots of other good places to visit and get encouraged...like this gang! :) I wish we could have a virtual WISH board where we could virtually hang out in the weight room and do all our exercises together AND lose weight! :) But you guys are always with me each morning I walk and if I start to talk myself out of it...I hear you guys shouting me out the door! :)

I've completed 3 weeks of walking 26 miles each week and tomorrow is weigh in day...I still feel my body morphing but the scales aren't going down as quickly as I'd like (hmmm..you think that Reese's or nutter bar has anything to do with it?) But my clothes are fitting much looser and I catch myself looking in the mirror and actually see a derrier forming back there! For so long I'd wear T-shirts that were XXL's that covered my tail so I never had to look...but now I can wear fitted pants and like the way my tail is pulling itself up! :) It's still saggy but it's form is looking good! :) Now, if only my arms would follow! :)

Have a great weekend guys! Our house closes Wednesday...can't WAIT!!!!

Hey, I like that one too! I LOVE the pockets! I may just have to get a second swimsuit for my cruise! Thanks for posting this!

The one from Landsend that I got has one little 'secret' pocket that I am hoping will hold my Key To The World, but this one you posted is great too, with larger pockets.

I am going to bookmark it for a possible Christmas present!
Debra

Thanks, Imhall! :) You ROCK!

I went down another two pounds gang! I was so worried because I could not exercise until today due to cleaning and decorating my room at work. I guess all of that climbing did pay off! :Pinkbounc

Morning All!! :flower:

Yesterday was an ok day - not great - Cody (4mo puppy) is always out of control for a day or two when he comes back from his stay at the animal hospital. They board small dogs and LOVE HIM!! He gets constant attention so when he comes home he can't understand why we can't play with him 24/7 :teeth: It was a very noisy whiny day in the house :rotfl:

Spent the day reorganizing from Hurricane DD21 :rotfl: Drank my water and took Cody for a 30 minute walk - should have been longer but the humidity got to both of us.

Did not do well on not eating past 8pm. Had a popcorn attack last night around 9pm grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....have to work on that.

Today - More water :drinking: more walking and more cleaning!!

Am starting to make a dinner menu for the week - any ideas on something low calorie? Regina I am going to check out the mexican lasagna recipe.

Substitute teaching starts for me on Monday!! Have missed the money.

Debra - Kathy and Tara - Like the suggestions for swimsuits. One of my biggest areas is my butt and thighs. Thinking about trying one of those swimsuits.

Nikkibell - WOO HOO!! See keep moving and losing!! Has class started yet.

Tara - Can't wait for the day you tell us that you are tucking your smaller size shirts in!!! You keep walking like that GIRL!! :cool1:

JEN - Where are you?!?!? How is it going at school? When is your birthday!! :cloud9:

Kathy - Did you make it through the week? When do you have to go back to the doctor?

Lisa - How is your class this year? I am starting the year subbing with a 4th grade class.

To all the team - MAKE IT A MOVING SATURDAY!! :Pinkbounc

Have a Magical Disney Day!! ::MickeyMo

Good morning everyone

Linda - survived my week back at work. Shoulder got more sore as the week progressed. Will be heading back to Long Island on Monday am if shoulder calms back down. Have to see surgeon again on Sept 6. Went to regular dr yeasterday and he said my shoulder looked like it have been done by a plastic surgeon. At 2 weeks out, the scar is hardly visable.

Went to state fair last night with DD2. We went to see the toothpick city done by one of my former personal trainers. The building are on a scale of 1/264. He did the tallest buildings in the US and the tallest buildings world wide. The Eiffel Tower is very elaborate. His wife says they will not be taking it home from the fair and they hope to sell it. He said he used 1.3 million toothpicks to build it. He also included a replica of Yankee Stadium complete with spectators. Everyhing in the display is made of toothpick, including the vehicles, people, grass and schrubs. It took him 15 months to do and he is working on the NBC building while at the fair.

I don't think my shoulder is quite up to a lot of walking. We spent 2 hours walking around the fair and it ached all night last night. It still hurts today and I will probably end up taking some type of pain killer. I have been trying not to take them too often.

Eating yeasterday was not to bad until we had dessert.
breakfast - bagel with strawberry jam
lunch - bagel
snack - cheese stick and orange soda
supper - veggie baked potato with butter & sour cream (it was topped with carrots, brocolli, and cauliflower), diet soda
dessert - pint of ice cream :guilty: :guilty: (they sell it for 1.50 and I couldn't resist)
Water - 64 oz.

Scale read 171 this morning. :cool1: :cool1: I think is is accurate as I weighed 172.5 at the dr yeaterday fully dressed. I have finally started losing.

Everyone - have a great losing day. Enjoy the :sunny: and :drinking1 lots of water.

Linda! That puppy is really keeping you on your toes! :) You'll be thanking him when you walk away those pounds with him! :)

Kathy!!! YEAH!!! The scale is moving!!! And you did some fun "me" things with your daughter...all that walking probably puts pressure on your shoulder..can you wear a sling or something to help keep it stable? I hope you get a good report next week at your docs! :)

Well, the scale moved...not as far as I'd like but I'll take it. That's one pound down from last week. I was at 175.8 today...so I'm only 4.8 pounds away from that 70 pound clippie!!! And 175.8 is a NEW NUMBER for me! I'm on a quest to see NEW NUMBERS from here to October....I don't want any stalling or gaining between now and then! So, even if it's one pound down I'll take it!!!!

Doing great gang!! There's a Thanksgiving challenge that could propel several of us into the 150's...so I cheer you on to join with us and get some pounds off before eating those pies! :)

Losing is winning.

Doesn't it just STINK that they will put this really good tasting/bad for you food on sale like that! It is so hard to resist. When I started this journey that was one of my BIGGEST challenges--to walk away from good sales on foods that I shouldn't buy. I still give in from time to time, but I have gotten a little better about it.

Ice Cream is one of my favorite and lately I have been wanting to try the Ben & Jerry's Chuncky Monkey Ice Cream! I was watching the college Jeopardy show and one of the questions was the name of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream that is banana favor with brownies in it. Ever since then I can't get it out of my mind. The funny thing is, at one store I went to pick it up and it was really frosted over (like it had been there forever). The next store I picked it up and it was all sticky (like something melted on it). So I didn't buy it at either place. Maybe I can just get over it eventually (I hope).

You are so close to the next 10s----Those 160s are almost here!!!!

Congrats! Keep it up! You may see the 160s by next weekend! Wouldn't that be great!!!

Debra

Debra - thanks for the encoouragement. It would be great to see the 160's soon. I have not see a weight that low since moving back to NY from Montana 18 years ago. My weight went up to the mid 170's and has stayed pretty consistent in that range. I usually gain during tax season but lose it again over the summer. More time outdoors and less time munching.

Morning All! :)

Today is going to be a very fun day. I have to get walking first though and then run to the post office to mail my pins for the Disney Pin Exchange. Tonight we are going to the Teacher Appreciation Day event at Staples to get loads of free stuff, then to the Boardwalk, and then bowling. I can't wait! :)

Linda, school starts for teachers on the 6th and the kiddies come in on the 8th. Soooooo exciting! :Pinkbounc

NYCpa, are you sure you are eating enough? I have been keeping my calories under 1500 a day and fat under 15 grams (usually much lower lol) and am losing. I was concerned when I saw what you had for lunch and dinner. Make sure you are getting everything you need!

Nikki - I usually eat around 1500 cal per day. Yesterday was unusual as I had a 12:30 dr appt which didn't end until after 2. I grabbed the bagel on the run. After the dr, we went to the fair. My meals usually consist of oatmeal or bagel for breakfast, caesar salad for lunch, cheese sticks for snack, and chicken and a vegetable or pasta for supper. My meals are generally much more balanced. I think what is finally helping the weight loss is being able to consistently drink 64 - 80 oz of water each day. i have problems getting that much in when I am on the road like I will be next week.

Good luck on you journey and I hope you are successful at obtaining your goals.

NYCpa, good! I was worried! :guilty: I do not know why, but I am constantly drinking water. I have a minimum of 100 ounces a day. I have been this way for years! I guess it is helping!

Hello friends!!!!

Congrats Tara!

I have not been here all week, because we had marching practice after school. And I am SO psyched to say that:

WE BLEW THE OTHER TEAM'S BAND OUT OF THE WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They could not compare to our sleek moves, and our awesome grooving and our memorized music AND the fact that we did it in true style! They hardly moved at all! In the stands, they just stood up and played. We danced, we jumped, we did :thewave:, we shook our groove things, stomped, screamed, played-for 4 hours!!! Plus marchin' there and marchin' back! I also must add that we were wearing wool uniforms and I must say that if I added total AP's earned, it woulda been 32! We were having so much fun. Not to mention we won!

Now on the eating front: I have not been doing so well on that. It's a combo of things...like eating yummy and healthy snacks (both are the kickers, it seems like none of the healthy food is good tasting unless you add stuff), eating late at night after marching practice and homework, not drinking enough water and not doing any exercise but marching and dancing when I'm not marching. Which=2 pounds gained...but that's okay.

I am SO gonna continue fighting the good fight! Why? I was getting helped into my uniform and the jacket was WAY TOO BIG. I mean, I could've gone swimming in it and there were enough safety pins in in to rival a safety pin producing company!! And the pants were a little bigger in the waist and one of my friends was like "Jen-have you lost weight? That could be why your jacket is too big!" That was such an awesome moment!!!

I am very happy to say too, that I've been packing my lunches lately because our school has pizza every day on Alacarte and that's usually what I got...way too greasy now! I had a piece on Friday and it made me sick to my tummy!

Tomorrow's my BIRTHDAY!

I am defineltly wanting in on the 150 club. In May of 2005 I weighed in at 265 pounds. I started dieting and exercising and last week I weighed in at 238 pounds. I have about 88 more pounds to go. Good luck everyone and congrats to everyone who is already there. Soon I hope to join you!!!! :cheer2: :grouphug:
