Day 9: The Organization of American States unanimously supports the U.S. decision to quarantine Cuba and, by the end of the day, all naval vessels are in place. Stunning reconnaissance photos reveal that Soviet missiles are poised for launch.

Day 9: 150ers, we are the OAS! We have all decided to support each other and quarantine the extra weight! And, we have everything we need to succeed...We're doing great, and I know we are going to have a new habit to be very happy about when we finish this 13-day challenge!

I did pretty well yesterday. It was a no treadmill day, but I ate within my points range, until I had some light butter popcorn. Still, I only ended up 5 pts over, and those came out of my 35 extras for the week.

Today I'm having lunch with a friend at Applebees, WW menu here I come. I ended up skipping breakfast. When I got to work I had some legal documents to review (so not my forte, so now my head is spinning), and eating went by the wayside. Now it's too close to lunch, so I guess I'll have my Kashi trail mix bar as an afternoon snack.

I'll be back on the treadmill today! Two days on, one off seems to be working well for me. Once I get back and into it again, I'm going to work up to three on, one off. That would be six days a week, and I think that's plenty.

Jen -- Thanks for the fabulous cheer! I was sitting at my computer with a huge smile on my face as I read it. And great choice with the salad :flower:

Regina -- It sounds like you are really trying. You will see good results, I just know it! :Pinkbounc

CenRell -- I look forward to getting to know you. Just take it slow, and you will get there! I always get too impatient and give up, but every time I want to I get great encouragement here, and decide to give it one more day. Before you know it, you will see success! :cheer2:

Tara -- You are cracking me up! I love the idea of your Nutter Butter Senators!! I can see you surrounded by bottles of water, your blockade from the treats we should eat sparingly! :rotfl:

NikkiBell -- Great start on the DIS! Glad to hear you're doing well. :sunny:

Kathy -- I hope you continue to feel better each day. ;)

Lisa -- Buffets are always hard. Just try to make the best choices you can at your "welcome back" lunch.

Debra -- How's that walking coming? A few more days and it will be a habit! :hourglass

Linda -- Are you still riding Space Mountain?! Wink at a few stars for me! princess:

It's Friday night, but I know we are all going to have a great weekend. Eat well, be well, and feel fantastic! :grouphug:

Good morning!

I'm not exactly sure what has happened to me, but I had another 100% OP day yesterday. I was seriously tempted to eat (nothing in particular, just anything) about 11pm last night, but I actually stopped myself. The whole time I kept thinking...what are you really wanting? Is it food? Comfort? And, I decided that I just wanted food to comfort me and I didn't need that...that's how I got overweight! Then, I realized that I had some shows taped (specifically an hour of "I Lost It!" from the Discovery Health Channel) so I watched the shows and fell asleep. I know we all have busy lives, but taping that hour of television and watching it each day has really helped me a lot!

Maria - Girl! I am so proud of you for working out at work! It shows how much your mindset is changing...I can't go to the gym later...I need to go something now. That is awesome! Keep it up! The dessert sounds wonderful, too! Yum! :)

Michele and CinRell - I'm a 5th grade teacher who will have her last day of summer vacation this Sunday! I am looking forward to returning to work on Monday, but not looking forward to the paperwork...arg! (What normal person loves paperwork anyways?! LOL!)

Michele - Welcome to our group! :) Tell us more about yourself! I can't wait to hear from you and am so glad you are ready to kick those pounds to the curb! :)

CinRell - Welcome to you, as well! I've heard about PCOS and I hope the specialist can give you some advice - I'm proud of you already for going! It's a great first step to getting healthy again!

Nikki - I'll send you some fajitas...express mail! :) Honestly, I only fill the tortillas as much as I can without stuffing them too much. Then, I just eat the rest as a salad type thing. I guess I could buy the big ones, but I choose to stick to the smaller size. How were your fajitas? :sunny:

Tiger - Gracias para los hugs! Yo quiero un hug todos los dias! (OK, it's been a few years since I've had Spanish...I hope it makes sense! :teeth: ) I'm glad you got to your salad! Personally, the taste comes and goes for me...sometimes I am in love with them and other times I can't stand them. :confused3

Tara - You are so right! It's amazing what a few days of being successful can really do to your self-esteem. Granted I didn't lose all the weight I wanted to this summer, I'm feeling really good about going back and seeing my co-workers and friends! Besides, it's more important that I get healthy for me!

Regina - Small steps! Small steps! You can do it girl! :) I'm excited that you are making progress and you should feel so awesome about that! Woo hoo! :)

Well, I'm off to get all the errands done that I wanted to get done all summer. Nothing like waiting until the last minute! LOL! ;)

Have a wonderful day everyone and I want to see less of you tomorrow! :teeth:

Lisa

Maria - I felt much better until this morning. For some reason the pain came back in full force with yet another bruise. It is almost embarassing to go out in public with all the black and blue marks. I have decided to give in and let my DD do the driving insead of being my independent self and figuring I was indestructible. I was driving last night and got hit with a sudden sharp pain without even moving my arm funny. I am a :rotfl2: LITTLE :rotfl2: impatient to be back doing whatever I want.

Lisa - great job staying on plan. I hear you about the paperwork. I drown myself in paperwork while working. It seem every time the IRS mentions paperwork reduction, we have a bunch of new forms to complete. Other than tax season, my job involves acting as the off site controller for a union benefit fund, doing the analysis of their investments and making sure their books and records are audit ready. Staying on top of the paperwork, sonething I have never figured out, should make your job more managable.

TC2009 - great job on the eating choices and the exercise. I admire your efforts and determination. Your cheerful attitude is refreshing to have on this board.

Tara - lets make a pact. No more nutter butters for you and no more Hershey Take 5 candy bars for me. I should know better than to buy them, but they taste so good after being refrigerated. Besides they have peanut butter for protein.

Lisa - hope you are having a great time at WDW. Stay away from the computer and enjoy yourself.

CinRell - welcome to the 150's club. They are a great group and their support is encouraging.

To those I have missed - keep up the good work and continue exercising.

Sounds like to kind of motivation & encouragement I need. I have recently started exercising and trying to eat healthier. When I started this a couple of weeks ago I was at 197 (sharing my weight is a big thing for me :earseek: I can't believe I did it) and I am already down to 193. My first goal would be 150 so I have 43 pounds to go. I plan on weighing myself each Sunday night so I will post my progress on Mon. mornings. I am looking forward to shedding pounds and getting healthy with all of you!!!

Kathy!! Oh, yes, honey...I have fallen for that "well, it has peanut butter in it...and the protein will do me good" excuse...but let's face it WE JUST LOVE THE WAY IT TASTES!!! IT's quick and easy and ooh lala sooo tasty! :) But I'll stick with you..I will not have another nutter bar until the wedding Oct. 1st..that's g oing to be tough because I have a double pack sitting in my pantry..and I have three children...they eat one stick at a time which always leaves one conveniently for their mamma to eat! :) But I'll stick with it...now I'm holding you to it...if you so much as take a bite of TAKE 5 then I'm gonna have a nutter bar so I'm counting on you! :)

WELCOME Disneymom727....YES YES!!! Saying the weight out loud REALLY makes a difference!!! And what's even better is that you NEVER HAVE TO see that number again!! Why LOOK you're already so far from it that you'll be knocking on 180's anyday!!! :) YEAH!!!! Let us know how we can encourage you!!! :)

I just did a swim for 2 hours...okay I swam for about 15 minutes and waded for the rest..but I avoided the fridge! :) I'm doing low carb today to flush my system...feeling pretty good about not having any sugars today! :) Will add in berries tomorrow...tomorrow's my off-walk day so I'm looking forward to sleeping IN!! :)

Let's kick it team!
Tara

Just typing this because I'm hungry and I want to pass the time until dinner. Thank you and please continue with your regularly scheduled thread! ;)

Welcome Disneymom!!!!

Thanks Linda-I admire your dedication, too.

Lisa-I actually haven't taken Spanish yet...I do know bits and pieces, though! Thanks! My mom tries to teach us little phrases every once in a while. She went to Spain for a year...sounds familiar to some here, huh? ;)

Maria-Thanks. The salad was yummy yummy! I have to be in a certain mood to eat certain foods (like pork...breakfast sausage...salad...milk). I'm strange like that.

I'm feeling like a salad mood tonight...like a really kickin' salad. It's movie night-Disney flicks! I'm thinkin': lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, carrot peels, bits and pieces of green onion, maybe some fresh grated cheese...and DEFINITELY some meat. Maybe a little roasted chicken or ham or even turkey!

Lisa...YOU GET THE 'WHAT I DID RIGHT TODAY' AWARD :cool1:  :cheer2: :flower:

You used DIS to avoid snacking!!! WAY TO GO!!! :) That's the way to being a 150'er for good! :)

TC- Can I come to your house tonight for dinner????? We're watching Disney's version of Heidi....it's 190 minutes long so we'll have to split it against 3 nights...we just finished reading the book and my kids have already figured out Disney dramatized the Grandfather...my daughter was crying because she said the Grandfather wasn't that mean in the book and she was broken-hearted at how he treated Heidi to begin with...luckily he's warming up to her..but it's taken 30 minutes of high drama for my tender-hearted crew....hoping it gets much better...never saw this version!! What are you watching???

Tara

Today was another good day. I stayed on program and even avoided the evening snacking that I stuggle with. Evern though I didn't lose any weight this week, I feel like I am back on track and will see l loss next week.

Tara - You can do it, do not give into the temptation of the nutter bar. If I can avoid snacking, you can avoid the nutter bar.

TC - I hope you enjoyed your salad and movie night.

Doggone it!!! No salad!!! We ran out of lettuce!!

We are probably going to watch Mulan!!! It's a favorite.

Just checking in for a late night "Hi". It's telling that it's not even 10 p.m. and I consider it a late night. All those early mornings get to me about now.

It sounds like everyone is doing great!

Welcome, Disneymom!

We will be watching Stitch the Movie tomorrow. He's my little guy's favorite character. I love Belle...she reads just like me!

Lisa -- I often cruise the Boards to keep from eating. I think it's a great way to pass a craving.

Regina -- Sometimes it takes our bodies a week to figure out that it's o.k. to let go of the weight. I predict a stellar loss for you next week.

Tara -- How was Heidi? I never really got into that one. The Nutter Butters must find a new home. Mine is available :tilt: It is easier if you don't buy the stuff, but who can say no to Peanut Butter?! We can! :Pinkbounc Enjoy your day of rest, we all need them.

Jen -- Hope you enjoyed Mulan. I like that one, too.

Kathy -- I do hope tomorrow is better. I know it's hard to slow down, but your body had a major trauma. You have to be gentle with yourself. Only do what feels good, just for a little while. I promise you can start pushing yourself very soon.

Lisa -- You're doing great! I know you can do this. And I hope your success is contagious! It's such a good feeling to know you're doing what you need to do, and you will see results.

Debra -- I miss your clippie! I need to see it to know that kind of loss is possible...

Let's plan on a Saturday full of good food, good fun, and good habits!

Maria

Heidi is getting better...still a little overdramatized but mostly sticks to the book.

GREAT NEWS! I saw 176 on the scale today!!!! Okay okay, it said 176.8 but I don't care I'm claiming that 65 pound clippie... And I know next week for sure I'll be below 175 so I'll use this weigh in to claim the prize! :) That walking is finally paying off with the scale..the first two weeks I felt smaller but the scale either went up a pound or down a pound...today is 3 pounds off from last Saturday so I think if I keep this walking and our good eating tips I should be able to knock off 2 pounds next week...drinking water really helps!!!

And it's a number I haven't seen in 10 years...so from here on out I'm seeing NEW numbers for GOOD!!! :) I'm hoping to bid GOODBYE to the 170's within the next 3 weeks...And have a plan to split meals with dh for our Disney trip..we're on the dining plan and there's no way we could both eat appetizers/meal/dessert and not gain...so I'll be splitting his meal at most restaurants.. I think I can maintain my 160 status through the Disney trip..so now I just have to CLAIM IT first! :)

I got to sleep in today!! 7:22 am..that's 2 hours later than all the other days!! AND IT FELT GREAT!!! :) Back to my walking tomorrow...What day are we on for the 13 day challenge???

GREAT JOB TEAM!!! I love all the losing ways around here..you inspire me to stick with it!

Tara

Oh. My. Gosh.

174 this morning!!! Not only do I drop down to a new point level but I get a new clippie too!!! The big 2-5!!!!!

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cool1:  :Pinkbounc :bounce: :jumping1: :dancer: :thewave:

I made horrible decisions Thursday and Friday (pizza buffets and "broiled fish, baked potato, beans of the green variety, and a really greasy breadstick" which would've been better had I stuck with everything on the Lo-Cal Chicken platter...7 points for broiled chicken, Tuscan veggies, broccoli and rice) but still came out on top!!

I said "no" to breakfast this AM...I wasn't hungry for it. But I know I should eat to get my metabolism going. Gonna do that now.

CONGRATS TC!!!!!

LOVE THAT NEW CLIPPIE!!!

YAHOO!!! I hope to be following you next week...hmmm...maybe I should call you the 160's leader and you can help all of us struggling 170'ers to make it with you!!! :)

Eat that breakfast!!! I was bad and managed to make a quasi-slimfast...it was that or cheerios..and I'm trying to low carb it so I scraped the last of that can and managed half a scoop to make a shake. I think I'm going to weigh daily for the next two weeks to see how different foods affect my losing.

Let's get down to the new numbers GANG!!! Say GOODBYE old numbers!!!
Tara

Morning! :)

Well, I conquered my fears yesterday and got on the scale to find out what damage was done by everything consumed during our Hershey Park trip....drum roll please.... :rockband:

....ZERO POUNDS GAINED! I am so shocked! Now, I gotta get my butt in gear and get off some more!

We went to Friday's last night. I did fairly well. I had a drink tho lol :goodvibes I also had a small salad and the sizzling chicken and broccoli. It is so good and the chicken is grilled so that is not too bad. I eat very little calories and fat during the day so I should be fine. I plan on exercising this weekend too which is against my rules, but I want to really stick with things. If I could lost about ten pounds before school begins that would be amazing!

Have a great day everybody!!!!!

Nikkibell..when does school begin??? I'm so ready to lose 10 pounds in like the next 4 weeks...care to join me??? Let's kick it! :)

It's gonna be 98 today and my son has his first football scrimmage at 1pm!!! They're soo loaded with all that gear and it's going to be BRUTALLY HOT!!! Hoping the boys don't pass out today! Any tips on how to keep them hydrated???

Thanks!
Tara

Thanks Tara!!! Congrats NikkiBell!

I had half breakfast/half lunch...it was yummy. I had a mug of tomato soup, a baked potato (both with cheese) and 1/2 glass of OJ.

Hello!

Well, yesterday was another great day! I would say I was at about 90% for the whole day. My parents wanted Chinese and I told them not to order anything for me, frankly, because I love Chinese food and I was afraid I would binge on the food so I just stayed away. I already had some left overs from the night before so I just heated those up and ate that! However, in the end, I had a late night snack of a little bit of white and fried rice and a egg roll. The rice didn't taste that exciting to me, but, as always, the egg roll was yummy! This place makes the best egg rolls. All in all, I would say I had no more than 4" egg roll with sweet and sour sauce and about 3/4 c. of mixed rice. All things considered, that's pretty good!

Kathy - I hope you will be feeling well soon! What I've learned in the past few years is that I must stay on top of the paperwork each day. If I don't, I'm in major trouble because so many things go in and out of my hands each day that I could be buried in paperwork by the end of the week! LOL! :earseek: Take time with your recovery! :)

disneymom727 - Thank you for your honesty about your weight! You DO need to say it...trust me, it's helped me a lot! As for me, I'm a 5th grade teacher who will have her last day of summer vacation this Sunday! Two days...ah! Please tell us more about you! :)

Tara - Excellent for avoiding the fridge yourself yesterday! Woot woot! And for you, we're having a clippie party! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :moped: :cool1: :dancer: :thewave: :jumping2: :jumping3: You go girl! Awesome! Wonderful! Amazing! :)

Continued...

Continued...

Tiger - Before I decided to go into ELED (elementary education), I seriously considered teaching Spanish. I really enjoyed taking Spanish throughout junior high and high school, but felt that I wanted to teach more than one subject for my job. I get bored to easily! LOL! Actually, I read Spanish books to some of my kids this year...it was fun! :) And we're having a clippie party for you, too! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :moped: :cool1: :dancer: :thewave: :jumping2: :jumping3: You go girl! Awesome! Wonderful! Amazing! :)

Regina - Sometimes we don't lose weight (I should talk!), but it's great that you are changing your old habits to make better habits! Awesome! :teeth:

Nikki - Kudos to you for maintaining weight! Excellent, excellent, excellent! Let's kick some more pounds to the curb! :)

Have a wonderful day everyone!
