You'll have to share the CORE thingie...never heard of that one.
Tara

I think Tera is talking about Weight Watchers. They have two programs. One is where you use points for food, the other is called the Core program. It is stricter than the points system, but you don't have to make as many decisions about what to eat.

I haven't tried the Core program, but it definantly sounds like if you follow it, it will work well.

Tera: Are you in your goal range yet? I am going to WW once a month for free now because I am a lifetime member and I set my goal as the highest number you can set for my height. I would prefer to weigh in once a week, but now I am at once a month. I am going to weigh in next week. I hope it is good!

Debra - You'll be in the 150's in no time.

I'm in the 150s now, but I am hoping to be in the 140s by August (or by the end of August if not sooner). It seems to take a LONG time to move from one set of 10s to another!

I saw you mentioned the Disney Cruise. We went on our first DC this past May and had a blast. My girls are 10 and 12, so they were able to go in and out of the clubs. We want to do another one in 2007, so we'll have to see when the dates get released.

My twin DDs are 11 (will be 12 in September), so my girls are right between your girls!

I'm not as crazy about the idea of them going to the teenage place once they turn 13, in fact, if we go in 2007, I am thinking of signing them up for the Lab because Disney will allow you to move down 1 year. After that they will have to go to the teen place (or just hang out by the pool).

Do your girls like to be together. You would think mine would since they are twins, but they actually prefer NOT to be together. They like making new friends on board. They still write to one girl they met who lives in Canada.

Too bad we can't all go on a 2007 cruise together with everyone at their goal weight! A 150 Club reunion! :boat:

Debra

Debra - I'm only about 2 1/2 pounds away from the top of my range (145), but will probably go to 140 before I concern myself goal. I'd still like to get down to 135 for my personal goal, but it's not definite. I still plan to go to my weekly meeting, but not sure how often I will weigh in, probably the once a month.

I'm sorry, I thought I read you were still trying to get into the 150's... my bad :earseek:

My girls hung out maybe the first day or two, but they made their own friends and went their own way. I'm not sure if she'll go to the teen club or not, we'd have to wait and see.

A 150 club reunion would be great. :teeth:

Still haven't caught up. Trying to stay off the computer long enough to get work done around here. But I thought I would share the news.

ONEDERLAND! It's here, it's here! This morning the scale read 199! :cool1:

I just couldn't believe it. It was so great to see. And to think that from now on I will always see a "1" in front of my weight. It's so cool! I was beginning to get frustrated that the scale wouldn't move, so this came at a great time.

Anyway, there is a ONEDERLAND party on the board and everyone is invited!

Have a wonderful and awesome day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

That is SO frustrating when that happens. Just hang in there. I went through a 2 week plateau that was VERY frustrating, but finally the scale moved. Right now I am at another one, and I know these things happen and I am just hoping to see some change in the scale next week.....but if not, then the next week. If you stick to it, the scale will move. Just don't give up!

Morning all!

Lesli, Congrats on Onederland! That is awesome. I can't wait for that to happen for me. It will, but it will take a while. I was supposed to post on Monday because I made that commitment to myself, but I was too down to even post. I guess, I think that I can only post about the good things and not the bad.

Anyway, bottom line, the last two weeks have not been very good. I have tried to keep away from temptation but it is just not going well. I have only healthy low-cal stuff at home but I seem to be able to eat too much of that as well as the others. So, on Monday, weigh in day, I had gained a pound. I was really bummed and had a stressful morning at work so of course I come lunch time I went searching for french fries. They were not hard to find. Just a block away. I don't know why I sabotage myself. Yesterday, I weighed again and had gained another pound. I saw all my sucess just washing away. Fortunately I got mad yesterday and had a really good day. I drank all of my water and I ate small portions and this morning I am only .5 lb higher than I was at this time last week. Things are back on track and that means that today I will have a good day because I am encouraged.
You are all so awesome, and I wish I had time to respond to each of you, but I am at work and shouldn't be doing this anyway. So, to all of you, great job, keep up the hard work and you will all reach your goals because you are awesome and strong and powerful. Hope that applies to everyone! :bounce:

Have a great week!

Hello, hello, hello! :)

How is everyone doing? I am doing pretty good. I had a really, really good night last night and had a long talk with my sister. She is 20 years old, in college, and has that body I always thought I would have. (But it's going to come soon! ;)) Anyways, we talked about my health and I told her I really needed her to help me for the coming few weeks or so until she goes back to school. I made up some rules; she called them guidelines - said rules were to strict - so we made up some guidelines/rules. One thing I did was print off a calendar and I can get up to 3 stickers each day - one for exercise, eating, and water. And she is the keeper of the stickers. There's no reward attached to that, but something visual to help me see how I'm doing. I think if I have a good run for the next few weeks or so I will be right on track.

So here are my rules:
1. No soda (except for Sprite to help my stomach when needed)
2. Exercise daily
3. Follow a food plan (right now I'm just going by the food pyramid guidelines - 1600 calories a day)
4. Limit 1 snack free choice per day
5. Drink at least 64 oz. of water a day.
6. Eat whole foods - avoid to much processed stuff.

It may seem strict, but I think I can do these for the next month. Then, I will reevaluate and change the rules if necessary.

Don't forget your thought for the week:
"The difficulties and struggles of today are but the price we must pay for the acomplishments and victories of tomrorow." - William JH Boetcker

I have more of these and would be happy to share one each week. I've collected them over the years and do find them very helpful to stay on task. I have each one written on a large index card and keep it in out where I can see it often during the week.

Linda - I have a wedding shower to go to in a few weeks. This will be the first one of my friends. I have got to get shopping for a gift! :)

Jen - How does the cheerleaders interact with your school band/sports games, etc. My sister is an UG (Undergraduate Leader) at NIU for the color guard. She also got a job as the coach for the fall season, too. I was in band in high school and orchesis (dance troupe). I loved it! It was so awesome and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Tara - Isn't it amazing how a date gets you really pumped! I cannot believe that it's 6 weeks until school starts and 8 until my first friend's wedding! AH! ;)

Linda - Thanks for that kick to get going! LOL! Shhh, don't ever tell my students that I procrastinate just as much as they do! It would ruin my reputation! ;)

Debra - Excited to hear about the new car! I just bought my first car just over a year ago, but it was so exciting!

agotta - Glad to hear that your clippie was stuck on with super glue. Good girl!

Tracy - Great to hear about the DIS meet. I would love to go next year, but I can't since another friend is getting married that day!

Tera - Yes for the new clippie! Woo hoo!

Lesli - Amazing! Welcome to Onederland! Yes!

Sue - Keep working hard! You can do it!

Oh, and if I'm MIA (which I will try not to be) it's probably because I'm busy with school work. I read a 500 page book yesterday and am reading a 300 page book today! Why don't I ever think to start earlier?! Duh!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Lisa

P.S. Please send prayers and pixie dust to my friend Heidi. She had a job interview on Monday and I am so hoping that she gets it! :)

Hi Lisa! Like your plan! You're sure to do well! Please keep the quotes coming as I heart them (love them).

Our cheerleaders work really well with the band...and sometimes the band does things on their own! We have band cheers and dances...cheerleading cheers and dances. We participate and have fun going nutsy spazoid!

Morning All!! :sunny:

Sunny, toasty and humid here in the Chicago area. We are starting to head back to the 90's. :sunny:

This is the week before TOM where I feel like a bloated stuffed animal so I am not going anywhere near the scale :rotfl:

Been trying to watch my food intake and get some walking in. Also trying to watch my salt intake - lately I have noticed that bloat easily.

Completed wedding clothes shopping yesterday and came home with 4 dresses and one pants outfit - No I am not changing every hour during the wedding :rotfl: My best friend is coming over today for a fashion show to determine which is the least offensive looking :rotfl2: I really don't like dressing up fancy

Lesi -
GO GIRL GO!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Never look back!! well only to see your smaller backside!! :rotfl:

Lisa - Sounds like a sensible plan!!! Good for you - let us know how your day went. Also how is the paper going? :)

The rest of us need to get ourselves back in gear!! :cheer2: :grouphug:

Have a Happy Thursday and of course a Magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Linda

Another 1lbs. down! That's only 38.5 from the 150's! Although when I went to change my ticker again, my fingers had a hard time finding the "1". Guess, I will be working on that. ;)

How does it feel to be in ONEDERLAND? Like this. :cool1: :goodvibes :teeth: :cool1: :goodvibes :teeth:  :cool1: :teeth: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

DH said yesterday that he could really see the difference now. At first I was losing side to side as he gestured at my hips. Now he can see that I have lost from front to back as he gestured at my tummy (you mean I don't have a lower tummy and an upper tummy anymore? :rotfl2: ) and behind.

The clothes are getting baggy again, so I know that in about 5 more lbs, some of the larger 16's will start fitting. I can't wait. Although, hopefully, I will go through those fairly quickly as I don't have any pants in that size, just shorts.

My attitude is better, I don't ache like I used to, I have more energy, and all in all, I feel pretty good.

Everyone have a great day. I'll try to catch up this weekend. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Ok everyone...I earned my clippie back!! WHOOHOOO! Down 6 lbs and this time I am NOT going back up! :cool1:

That's the way to do it Agotta. Tell those clippies that they are stuck to you like glue until you trade up. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I tell ya all this losing going around here is contagious!!!

I lost 2.4 pounds this week and TOM is still here!!! HA!! In your face TOM..I might should have whispered that for fear he'll find a way to sabotage me next week. But I'm at 176.8...in just .8 more pounds I'll have my 65 pound clippie!!! :) So next week will bring good things I just know it! :) And I'm on target for losing 2 pounds a week for 12 weeks...any extra is a good cushion for those weeks I'll only lose a pound or maintain.

I'll probably stick to slimfasting this week atleast until my can is gone then I'll focus on eating fresh foods...the next few weeks are going to be so busy that I've got to simplify my eating...have to depose the veterinarian in my suit against our neighbor's doberman...ugh! I'm so stressing out about that. Then the next week I'm taking my 82 year old mamaw on a trip to see her first cousin she's never met...her cousin is 90 and they're both the last living children of their mothers who were sisters...did ya get all that? It'll be a 6 hour drive and have to do it in 3 days so we'll be on the road alot....meaning probably not much time for exercise.

Keep up the great work gang!! I keep promising myself I'll update the losses on page one...I may just try and do a recount to start fresh and make sure I keep up...Keep losing gang!!! Thanks for the great attitudes and we'll manage the obstacles!!!

Tara

Today was busy. I just want to sit down and cry for no reason.

I need to break it off with the Brat Kids. They were at their worst today. They were punching each other, refusing to listen, riding their bikes in the street, kicking/hitting me, giving me WAY too much attitude. They went to the cemetary across the street and picked wildflowers tho' I said no. They started a temper tantrum because I refused to light candles. HELP MEEEEEE!

Must dash...choir!

Oh my! How awful! I think you DO have a reason to cry!

BUT tomorrow is a new day, and everything can start fresh.

It is summer, and kids get bored. They like being out of school, but they do get bored. That is one thing I noticed since my kids went to school this year. We homeschooled up until this year, and we did lessons all year round, taking breaks at different times, but never for 2 months at a time. This summer the only thing saving us is our pool club. The kids hang out there almost every day. They still get bored, but the pool club helps.

I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Debra

Thanks Debra...these kids live about 10 miles away from even the smallest piece of city, so no pool, no library, no park, nothing. Plus I sat for the kids last summer and they were NOT like this...not in the least little bit. It is a new day and thanks.

Good thing is they didn't try to tempt me with chips, and I brought along a packie of fruity snacks just in case though.

Choir practice: they had PB and chocolate cookies with fruit punch. I grabbed my water bottle and drank, drank, drank. One small victory!
