Still not caught up on all the reading. Although so far you guys have been doing great. AND  to all the newbies! You will really like it here. Great bunch of supporters.

Anyway, just wanted to post and tell you that I am now at 203! :cool1: So close to ONDERLAND that I can actually see it. Something I couldn't really envision 3 months ago. The only reason that I have made it so far is because I have had so many wonderful supporters. Thanks guys! :grouphug:

The 150's are so much closer now! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Lesli!!! look at that number on your ticker!!! 27 pounds GONE!!! You do realize that's the weight of a toddler!!! GONE GONE GONE!!! We are going to jump shout and sing when you hit Onederland!!! :cheer2: I know I know how tough it can be to stay in losing mode...and you're trooping through it like a professional loser! :) Keep sharing with us the details of your loss...your exercise...eating ups/downs...and maybe we'll all learn or relearn some lessons that will help us get down there with you !!! You've just done an AWESOME job and I had to shout it out for you! :) :cheer2: :cheer2:

Where is Tigercheer? I hope she's doing well...gonna finally write some notices of our losses to all members...let's all cheer the newcomers and try and motivate the alums in to getting to 150's!!! :)

I am so far soo good....two glasses of water...scrambled eggs for breakfast, ham/cheese slice and dill pickle for lunch and for dinner I plan on trying out dh's new grill and make some shish-ke-bobs with chicken onions and bell peppers...are bell peppers low carb?? I need to read up on some lowcarb recipes for my 2 week stint...I know you guys are tired of reading about my restarts on some plan or another...boy am I ever! But I've got to make this stick and I'm weighing in daily for the next few weeks until I see 169..hey it may be a few months...so bare with me...if anyone else wants to commit to weighing daily I'll be right there with you! :)

Losing is not a chore...it's a path to a healthy and vibrant you!!! :)

Ok, I am back. So is it ok that I am shooting for 140? Dh and I had cancelled the marathon and got really busy with "life". I am now up to 170 and we have rethought the marathon. We are now back in training and I am really working on my eating habits as well as toning up and working on my endurance. Just tell me what I should do.

AGOTTA!!! It's GREAT to see you again!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: You've had a nice siesta and you're ready to charge into this fit and fancy free lifestyle! :) I'm sooo excited for you doing the marathon thing!!! You won't regret it!!! So, what jump starts you? For me it's seeing a good size loss...so I try to do low carb to wean my body off of sugars and carbs and force myself to eat good fresh veggies. Otherwise I just keep falling back into the comfort foods.

We're here for ya gal!!!! Let's kick it up and lose some butter!!! :)
Tara

Today's food intake was reasonable tody until supper. Went out to eat with girls from the office for the supervisors 25 year anniversary. We went to an italian restaurant. I had bruchetta (sp) as appetizer, salad with oil & vinegar dressing, chicken with sausage, small potato, summer veggies. That wouldn't have bee so bad but I also had dessert cannoli and a piece of cake with hazelnut filling and lots of frosting. :guilty: I really prefer my cake without frosting but there was no easy way of removing it. The cake was mostly frosting and hazelnut filling.

I was stuffed to the point of being uncomfortable. Came back to the hotel and hit the fitness room for 30 min of the elliptical. I still feel full but also feel more energized. I will have to mix my exercise up and not spend all the time on the elliptical (although I can raise my heartrate fast) and do some kind of strength training.

Have a losing day and keep moving.

You can call me Worfie or Maria. My cat's name is Worf, and when he's going to get brushed we call him Worfiedoodles -- it's a signal that happy times are ahead and he comes running. Sort of like me and vacation planning...

I have great plans to really get moving starting Saturday. My father lives in a different part of the country, and he's been visiting for 3 weeks. Needless to say, routines are pretty much out the window. Once he leaves (although I will be very sad and miss him), I will really be able to exercise, eat right, everything will be back on track again. I really think that with the motivation I'm getting from just checking in here, I will see success.

Let's just say I'll be disappointed if I don't have some loss, any loss, when I weigh in Tuesday.

Thanks for the encouragement, it really keeps me going!

Kathy..I think nights like that are fine...especially when you FLUSH them with lots of water. And, WOW, how did you manage to do 30 minutes elliptical being that full??? That is dedication! :) I think your meal was pretty good for being great veggies and meats...so don't knock yourself and you'll have a great weekend, I just know it!!

Maria...what a cute way to name a brushing of a cat! :) Dad's visiting are so great aren't they? I hope when my Dad retires he'll have more time to visit..we really miss him being in another state now. Life will get more predictable now and you can have fun buying good foods that will take you on to fit and healthy! :)

Well, I've made it! I managed a good day of eating and I swam around the pool for 2 hours today...hopefully that counts for something. Tomorrow is my 4 miler in the am...it's hard for me to get the energy the first few days I do low carb...but I already do feel better not having a day of carbs in me. I know I'll be doomed to diabetes if I don't start realizing how many carbs I intake...my grandmother and aunt both have diabetes...I hope to avoid that when I reach my golden years. I've had some stressful moments tonight...don't you hate it when you're put on the defensive and there's a struggle for posture? My realtor called tonight and asked if we'd take an offer 40k less...(we're already 30k below appraisal!!!)...so that got me on the wrong foot...but he got very defensive thinking I was insinuating he wasn't doing a good job because he hasn't gotten some specifics I'd requested over 3x. He even accused me of lying and saying I'd never asked for those things. I was good and held my tongue but I kindly asked him to please get them to me...then lo and behold I found an email I sent 30 days ago requesting them and telling him that I'd requested them in the past. I forwarded the email and told him it did offend me that he said what he did...ugh!!! The struggles of communication! I know I'm stressed because we've had it for sale for a year...and he's stressed because his contract is up in 2 weeks and he thinks we won't relist with him...oh my please let this house sell so we can all be nice to each other! :confused3

Thanks guys...all that to say, even with the stress I did not even bat an eye at the swiss rolls or brownies my kids had for dessert! :)

You know, this is a blessing....really. When I was eating more food, it took me a LONG time to feel stuffed. In fact I could eat a big meal and then an hour later eat some more.

Now that I have gotten use to eating less, it takes less for me to feel uncomfortable. I try not to get to this point, but when going out it happens, and I am so happy to get 'full' so much quicker. Now I won't eat any more that night and often just skip breakfast and I don't eat again until lunch the next day.

Again, I don't make a habit of it, but I have splurged from time to time over these past 6 months of reshaping my eating habits.

I was VERY nervous about eating at Disney because I was afraid I would get use to eating a lot again like I did before I started this new lifestyle. It took me a good month to adjust my appetite before and I hate feeling 'hungry'. Luckily, even though I slurged while at WDW, my appetite didn't readjust and I am back to eating the smaller amounts of food without the hungry feeling.

So be glad for that 'uncomfortable' feeling. It is a good sign. And tomorrow you won't be splurging again and you will be right back on track!

Tara,
That is wonderful that you didn't go into stress eating mode. I am terrible with that. Whenever I feel stressed, I want FOOD! And not good food, I want bad food! So I am proud of you to not going for the bad stuff!

I hope your house sells soon. I am sure that is very difficult. We have only been through it once and it went quickly, but now where we live the houses don't sell as fast and I am not sure we could sell our house very easily. We don't plan to sell until retirement (when we hope to move to Florida and become CMs at Disney :earsgirl: :earsboy: ), so I will have to go through it eventually.

Hopefully tomorrow will be more relaxing.

Tara -great job on the eating, and exercising.

DJ - thanks for the encouragement.

I'm headed home tomorrow. :Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc My goal for the 6 hr drive is to not stop and the rest areas and buy junk and soda. I will have to eat lunch before leaving to keep the munchies at bay. Too bad they don't sell baby carrots on the thruway. Even though I still drink WAY too much soda, I limit myself to diet only. I as starting to get more water consumed and hopefully in a couple of weeks will be able to cut the soda out again.

Everyone - have a great losing day. i will check in again when I get home.

Kathy! I've become a pro at road trip snacks...all the trips to our house in AL from TN over the last year took some creative stop and go buying. I will buy a small bag of cashews and bottled water...the nuts really help me chew a little at a time and I'm not as hungry having something with protein in it...if I have a bag of chips..I'm still soo hungry an hour later. And for drive thrus I usually get some chicken strips without the fries...it doesn't seem to hurt my weight loss as much...speaking of which...my daily weigh in showed a loss of 1 pound!!! Yeah, I know it's water weight with this low carb thing..but it still feels good to see 1 pound gone in 1 day...and I managed my 4.3 mile walk early this am. So I'm 1/14 for my lowcarb 2 week commitment...hoping this time I can make the full 14 without any cheats.

DJ...we'll be right there with you retiring at Disneyworld...dh and I have visions of lots of grandchildren coming to stay at OKW with us...we hope to be groundskeepers..I love gardening and it would be great to have a hand in all those flowers! :) We hopefully will not sell another house for 25 years..it's time to stay put! I think that's why the good Lord is taking time in selling the one in TN because he wants us to never want to move again! :)

I just had a couple of slices of bacon and a big glass of water...going to devil some eggs for snacks later today...and a nice salad with cabbage and onions is on schedule for lunch...gotta knock these pounds down again!

Tara

Good morning, everyone!

I'm starting my day with plums and a Special K bar, so what can go wrong? LOL

My mind doesn't seem to be in the right place yet for weight loss, but I'm hoping if I go through the motions (eat right, drink water and exercise), my mind will get there soon.

My problem is I just lose focus pretty easily. I think coming here daily will keep me accountable. That's why I have trouble with WW. A once a week check-in really isn't often enough. I have lots of motivation after I weigh in, and then I don't think about it much until the day before weigh in. That system just isn't working for me this time.

Well, I have a little incentive this week. I have a 30% off coupon at Borders bookstore that has to be used by 7/29. If I lose weight when I weigh in Tuesday night, I get a new book. If I don't, no new book. I get most of my books from the library, but I will buy vacation planning books or a special something I've been wanting, so it is a real reason to lose!

Hang in there, everyone. I know weekends are the toughest time for me, but we are going to do great for our first official weekend of Summer!

lmhall2000- Thanks!! I guess when I saw the 170 on the scale, that was my breaking point. I have been doing pretty good. DH and I have really cut back on snacks and portion sizes. My parents came and helped us move a couple weekends ago and my dad left us his mini-grill so we have been grilling everything in sight. I pushed way to hard this week and my body is killing me. Everything, legs, arms, neck, back.... We have cut down to ice cream/dessert every other night. I know it still sounds like a lot but I have been very unsuccessful in the past with just cutting out sweets all together. Last night I made some banana oatmeal cookies and I don't think they were too high in fat. I ran yesterday morning, but am taking a break today and tomorrow from the running. Thanks for the encouragement!

Hey gang! Good Morning! Sounds like a lot of momentum is being regained! :cool1:

Kathy, enjoy your drive back home, has it become a chore yet to drive back and forth? Hope not! Sodas are a hard thing to break I wish you much success!! :)

Tara, I picture you with fists full of hair and big garden hat!! :rotfl: You really are getting the diet challenges aren't you! Keep pushing you will get back on track stronger and more determined!! :Pinkbounc

DJ, I know exactly what you mean about that Disney eating! It is hard to look at a salad plate after eating some of that great food!

Well, I have lost 5 of the pounds I put back on since graduation. Now if the other weight would hurry up so I can get back to where I was I'll be a happy camper! :cloud9: Planning a big hiking weekend for the 4th in the N. GA Mtns so maybe that will help drop a few unwanted pounds. I am  the watermelon for snacks!

Have a great FRIDAY everyone! Get ready for a HEALTHY weekend!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I lost 1 lb this week, so while I did not reach my goal of 20 lbs by June 20, I am alot closer than if I had not done anything. This has been one of those wacky weeks for me. Tues, we took a co-worker out to lunch for her b-day, we went to Red Lobster and I did not eat well. Then Thurs. we had a Mexican themed pot luck and work, again I did not do well although it could have been alot worse.
Then today we ended up taking DS4 to the doc. about a week ago he started needing to go to the bathroom more frequently, yesterday it took a big change for worse and he was up until Midnight going every 5 min. The doctor did not want to wait until Mon. because of my family history of diabetes. As it turns out, he is having bladder spasms and there is nothing they can do except wait it out.

Regina

Regina...you are doing GREAT...goals are there to help us LOSE...I would not have lost a pound if I hadn't set a goal...yeah, I've had to set and reset but I'm down more than 65 pounds from my highest....so WAHOO for you on losing a pound this week!!!! That's the way to do it!!! Slow and steady wins the race, fast and furious may pick up the pace, but any loss is 1st PLACE!!!! :)

Sorry to hear about your ds....how horrible for him! Did they say hot water bottles or cold compresses might slow the spasms down? Can they not give him anti-spasm drugs for the bladder? I know they give my grandmother several medications that help her. I hope he has a good night tonight!!!

I've managed day two of low carb and will weigh in again tomorrow am..I'm 2/14...can't wait to see that 14/14 and be able to add back in wheat toast! :)

Tara

Tara - congrats on day 2 of low carb. I took your advice about driving munchies. I skipped lunch as I wanted to get home early enough to exercise. That backfired - a distance that should have taken no longer than 1 1/4 hours took me 3 hours. Instead of getting home at 5:30, I got home at 7 and took Erin out to Applebees for supper.

Eating today was:
Breakfast - Usual - corn muffin
Lunch - skipped
Snack - werthers (too many), cashews (lightly salted-they didn't have unsalted) and diet soda w/caffeine (felt like sleeping instead of driving).
Supper - Teriyaki chicken bowl (chix, rice pilaf, almonds, broccoli, peppers and spicy orange sauce) and diet soda. Very filling.

During the drive I drank 32 oz of water as well as the pepsi. Am in the process of drinking another 20 oz. of water before bed which should be soon.

Tiggerkeeper - the drive hasn't got too boring yet. Most of the way the traffic isn't bad and there are 3 routes I can take for variety. It is just when I get within 30 miles of NY city that the fun begins. I don't think there is any time of day they don't have traffic problems. Usually if I leave before 1 PM I can beat the heavy traffic. Not sure what happened today as I managed to escape the office by 11:45.

For all the baseball fans - I87 goes right passed Yankee Stadium. I think I sat in traffic in front of it for almost 15 minutes and theie game didn't start until 7 pm tonight. I will have to remember to go up I95 and stay away from I87 until I get almost to the Tappan Zee Bridge. You have 2 choices to cross the Hudson River close to NYC. You either go over the Tappan Zee or the George Washington. The signs on the Cross Bronx espressway said to expect heavy delays on the GW. Wonder how late I would have been going that way

Consequently today was a rest day. Hope to go to the gym tomorrow AM.

Evening All!!

Still on puppy patrol - Whew!! It takes coordination amongst all of our schedules to make sure someone is home every few hours to take the puppy out. Really cute but HIGH MAINTENANCE :rotfl2:

Went and did something different today. The therapist and my own doctor told me to start taking care of ME!! :goodvibes Have you ever been fitted for your bras? I don't mean Victoria Secrets I mean going to a lingerie store and being fit where the ladies come in the fitting room and manhandle you :rotfl: I wander the lingerie section at a department store and never know which one to buy. Well now I know more!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I actually got bras that Oprah wears (don't watch Oprah that much but was impressed for the moment). Never heard of them before (Wachol and Le Mystique). Of course they were alot more expensive than the $14.99 I am used to. But you know what I FEEL GOOD!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: I feel that my body parts are pointing in the correct direction. :rotfl2:

Got some walking in and was good with food intake until dinner. Waited too long and overate. Going to focus on the exercise more tomorrow......

Kathy - Glad you are home again and you survived the trip:):)

Maria - How did today go? Bet you are one step closer to getting your Borders Book!! What do you like to read? LOVE TO READ!! :Pinkbounc

DJ and Tara - ME TOO ME TOO!!! DH and I fantasize all the time about retiring to Orlando. We even know the area where we want our house. I want to work guest services on some level and DH wants to work the first tee at one of their golf courses:):) We can start the 150s RETIREMENT CLUB at WDW (of course) :p

Agotta - Welcome - we haven't met :sunny: So glad to meet you and can't wait to get to know you better.

Regina - Sending you good wishes for DS :wizard: How is it going?

Tara - Keep going with low carb........you moving and losing....will keep sending good wishes about the house :wizard:

Puppy is DEMANDING attention again......gotta run :rotfl:

Love you guys - you get me through the day :sunny: :flower:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
