Good morning fellow losers :wave::wave::wave:

Last day on the island until Sunday. Am going to Maine to see DD for her birthday. If the weather is nice, we plan to go to Portland and walk the back bay trail and go for a bike ride. Lets hope the weather cooperates.

We to Jones Beach with a co-worker last night. We walked 4 miles on the boardwalk. It was peaceful walking along the ocean. Then we went to dinner as a quaint restaurant called Milk and Sugar. THe food was good and the atmosphere was different (but a good different)

Have a good losing day and :drinking1lots of water.

ONward and DOWNward

HAPPY FRIDAY!! :sunny: HAPPY FRIDAY!! :sunny:

Weigh was last night and down .4 - I'LL TAKE IT!! :flower: WW shows total loss as 6.6 and my scale at home in the early am with the birthday suit on shows a total loss of 9lbs!! :cool1: :cool1: Ok so I admit this old body CAN lose weight :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have an appt. next Friday with a family therapist for DD17. Will feel better when we get her back on track. ;)

Kathy - Enjoy your time with DD - hoping for good weather for you :sunny: How is the younger DD doing? Have they been able to determine the origin of her weight loss?

Megan - WOO HOO!! Onderland is shining brightly at the end of the tunnel!! :goodvibes

TigerCheer - Sending you lots of :wizard: - hang in there

Lacerta - WELCOME!! You have come to the right place!! :cheer2: How about Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds Tapes - you need very little room and she has some great starter tapes. Also water water and then some more water.........keep guzzling. Glad you came!!

DJ - YOU ROCK!! Haven't hit the new size for pants yet....but the current ones are starting to fit better or feel baggy. What a new sensation!! Just love the feeling!! :lovestruc Coming to Chicago soon? Hope you enjoy!!

Tara - So glad to have you back!! Missed you!! :grouphug: Hang in there - you will get back on track in no time at all!!

To those - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Linda

Yesterday wasn't too bad except for the 3 cookies I ate and the extra slice of pizza. Some days you just want to strangle yourself for not staying OP. Lots of painting done and more to go. One arm is starting to look smaller than the other. :rotfl2:

Tara - The 5lbs will come back off soon when you have time to concentrate on your food. Leave it to children to put a move back into reality. ;) Hope the other house sells soon. Better change your location, it says you are still in TN. Glad you are liking the high speed connection, but believe it or not, there will come times when you think even that is slow. :flower:

DJ - 5.2lbs gone forever!   That clippie looks great. :cheer2:

Lacerta - WELCOME! You have come to the right place. Everyone here is so supportive. Starting with portion control is a huge step. I never thought it possible to eat ONLY 1 scrambled egg, but now I wonder how anyone could eat more than one. Going back for seconds and taking too much the first time around will become a thing of the past. Check out the labels to see how much a serving size really is and measure it out. Then you will start to get the idea of what your portions should look like. Good luck on your journey. :cool1:

Tigercheer - Congrats on losing another lb.!

Megan - 2 lbs. down is AWESOME. Let me know what Onederland feels like!

Kathy - Have fun visiting your DD. 4 mi on the beach sounds like fun.:flower:

Linda - I agree, take what you can get. See, you are a loser after all!

Everyone have a great day and a wonderful weekend. To all the mothers HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Lesli54: I know what you mean. Sometimes after I have had a bad day, I just want to kick myself. BUT as I mentioned before, I LOVE pizza and really don't think it is all that bad for you (unless you put on fatty toppings, I like veggie toppings). In fact, I have pizza almost every day for lunch! I really love it! So pizza is alright, the day just depends on Calories In versus Calories Burned. It is that simple. As long as the pizza and cookies and whatever else you had yesterday didn't go past the calories burned, then there shouldn't be a change at all. AND if you had less calories than you burned (even with the cookies and pizza) you should have a lose of some excess calories stored that day.

To EVERYONE: Have any of you ever tried lifting the part of yourself that you lost? Today I had to buy two bags of cat litter at the store. Each bag was 14 pounds for a total of 28 pounds. I have actually lost 34 pounds, but this is close. Those two bags were heavy! In fact, I had trouble lifting the two of them together (I have weak arm muscles :confused3 ). All I could think about was HOW did I carry that around all the time?
..................AND..................I need to lose that much MORE to get to my goal weight! So I am carrying around 2 bags of litter on my body right now! No wonder I hate exercising! (Yes, I confess, I don't exercise---I really REALLY hate it).

Anyway, you should give it a try. Go lift the part of yourself that you have lost. It is really strange to 'feel' what is missing!

OH! And the other thing, I had to go to the Women's department to look for a summer top instead of the PLUS SIZE department. The funny thing, I went to the Plus Size department out of habit and looked around, and then moved to that new mysterious department that I always avoided! I bought 2 new tops for summer. I don't want to buy too many because I really do hope to lose another 28 pounds before this is all over (so hopefully, I will be looking at a new size again).

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are leaving in a few hours for Ohio. So I won't be around for a couple of days. Stay good this weekend!

DJ

westjones: Strangely enough, that may be the very best motivation I have ever read. I never really thought about how heavy a 50 pound box is, and that is what I have to lose. I'm not sure I could even lift that much, and I carry it around extra all the time.

Chris: I've looked at those, but I already do the walking on my elliptical, so I figured I needed something to work some different areas of my body, and to alternate days with the walking so I don't get too bored.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. So far, I've hit the elliptical 2 days in a row for 20 minutes each day, but have to skip today because I'm going out of town all day for a wedding and reception.

Yesterday at the store, I bought fruit instead of cookies, so I will have healthier snacks around. Only problem is, my cats think the grapes are toys, and they pull them right off the vine and bat them around the house. ARGH!

I also cut about 400 calories off yesterday by having a slice of peanut butter toast and a slice of cheese for lunch instead of my usual 900 calorie pasta dish. Just as tasty and filling, and only about half the calories. I wish they made those things in half sizes, guess I need to find out how they taste as leftovers.

I'm thinking about checking out a local Curves club. I've never stuck with a gym membership before for a couple of reasons, mostly that I don't enjoy working out, but also I really don't like working out in public, and I just never felt I had the energy after a long work day, so I wouldn't go, except on weekends, which wasn't often enough to see results, so I'd get discouraged. But I understand some of the Curves places have a 2 week free trial period, so I think I'm going to check one out and see if it feels right to me.

You are all such amazing losers, you have me motivated that I too can do this, and I love the little graphs, its so much easier to lose more when you see how far you have already come.

Hi everyone. It's a beautiful day. Thanks for the kind words.

Lesli knows already, by my grandpa (82) has to have a bypass surgery. 99% blockage in 3 arteries. Please send pixie dust and prayers his way!!

Today wasn't so good. I found plenty of reasons to eat the wrong things. Along with just as many of the right things. Getting tired of the painting and worried that I won't get some of these other things done. It will happen, but I need a break. That London trip won't come soon enough as far as getting away, but too soon as far as having things ready for me to be gone for 9 days. :confused3 Catch 22, I guess?

I saw the scale flicker on 214.5 this morning and even glimpsed a 213, but alas it settled back on 216. Every time that happens, I get it within the next two days if I am good................so time to be good!

DJ - Doesn't it feel good to realize you are in the wrong department and it is in your favor? It also must feel good to have more choices of cute things to wear! I thought about lifting something as you have suggested, I just haven't done it yet. But I agree, even lifting 15 lbs seems a lot harder than carrying it around. We just don't realize how much our bodies suffer carrying that extra weight. Great motivator.

Lacerta - Curves is great! I loved it. Just have been too busy with things to even get too far past my front door. That and with gas so high a 30 min drive one way is hard to justify unless there are other errands attached to it. You are off to a good start. :cheer2:

Tigercheer - :wizard: :wizard: More for Gramps can't hurt. :wizard: :wizard:

Everyone have a good weekend and keep moving! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Welcome Lacerta!!!

I'm going to try my hardest to update all the losses today...I'm hoping that will jump start my losing ways again...I have been CRAPPY!!! Once I get off board it's hard to get back on plan...looks like I'll have to go back to weighing daily to stay good...and I think I'll have to cut out french fries again...they've been showing up way too much around here.

Just cancelled our Disney trip...Cindy's PS's and all...it's actually okay...two good points are that we'll be able to go in September when the crowds are less (Lord willing our house in TN sells!) and by then I should be in the 150's and be through with losing for awhile...I've just been wiped out from the move and dh had to leave for a trip to Ithaca for a week..Kathy are you in Ithaca this week? :)

I'm soo excited to see new faces here and the losing ways!!! I think marking down all these losses will make me get the mindset I so badly need to get back.

Tigercheer...just read about your grandfather!! Sending prayers your way! Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow!!! You guys are GREAT!!!

Tara

WOW!!!

191.6

We've lost 191.6 pounds since we started this club!!! I'm going to try and PM the gang to let them know we're still here to cheer them on...it's so easy to fall off and get off track..these past two weeks have really shown me that...

While reviewing the past two weeks posts...I'm amazed at some of the big losers!!! It's just melting off!!! WAHOO!!! What a wonderful way to blast into summer! :) It's sooo inspiring and I'm going to get with the plan..I was so excited about moving to AL to be with dh and the ability to exercise whenever he was home...but this week he's gone for over a week and it's just when I'm trying to get back on plan...isn't that always the case??? So I'm going to just have to be very disciplined with eating...dd (6) has an asthma issue so I can't leave the house today...but I remember all the great posts about drinking water so I'm going to make that my goal for today...then hopefully tomorrow groceries will bring some good salad goodies.

All the new guys..I've posted your names on page one roster and the goal is to get to 159...Tera is showing us how great and attainable that can be!!! And a few close ones are inching closer...Chrismiss and westjones come to mind! :)

Let's do it to it gang and treat our bodies kindly and live as if we were already 150's! :)

Tara

Sooooo not so good of a weekend, went out with my grandmother a lot, lotsssssssssssssss of food. So have to be extra good this week. Did I mention that I lost 2 pounds this week :goodvibes I really like slimfast shakes and bars, but then I eat when I come home from school, I'm going to have to talk more to the therapist about that, because writing isn't working. But I found my weight watchers stuff and have decided to simply do that from home :) Aaaand, In the spirit of not spending anymoney, I have decided to make my own at-home-curves-thing, following the same format, only with exercises instead of machines. It should be fun :)

Lets go Losers!!! :thewave:

Good Morning Losers!! :cool1:

Hope everyone enjoyed Mother's Day!! It was one of the best I have had in a long time - peaceful :cloud9: Had my mother and mother in law over for ribs and chicken from our favorite place in Chicago - my husband and girls made the sides............the only thing missing was that my husband cleaned the hot tub and the water didn't get warm in time to go in and enjoy.......if that was the worst of the day - I am doing GOOD!! :goodvibes :goodvibes Love my girls and DH!!

Eating and exercise really went out the window. Don't even want to think about getting on the scale :rotfl2:

So recommitment MONDAY!! :Pinkbounc Back on plan!! :cheer2: Going to get my haircut after work so no fitness center but hoping to hit the treadmill when I get home. :Pinkbounc

How is everyone else doing?

Tara - WOW what a great group we are!! And yes I am definitely inching......maybe by the nano inch:):)

Twinkles - Shake off the weekend - Today is a new day!! :sunny:

Tigercheer - sending you :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Let us know.

ONWARD AND DOWNWARD!!

KEEP MOVING AND LOSING!! :Pinkbounc

Have a Magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Drum roll, please..............................214! :cool1: ................I lost another 2lbs. I am soooooooo happy to be 4 lbs. away from my original goal! With luck, I can lose another few by Sunday. It wouldn't put me at goal by graduation, but that is okay. I am so close now. That is a total of 16lbs. gone since I started! :cheer2: I have a new clippie! :cheer2: Only 4 more to go til the next clippie! 4.5lbs and I will be in the 200's! Wait, I already am there. Well, I mean anything below 210. ;)

Can you tell I am excited? I make this solemn vow that I will never again weigh 215lbs or more.

Okay, time to work on other people:

Tara - You just got thrown off a little. That happens when you have a major life altering event. But, now you are moved and when DH comes back from his trip, you will be able to work out when you want. Think of it this way, it will be a lot less stressful now that he is around full time again, so less temptation to snack. You should have your fridge now, so no more living on the go. Your new pantry probably isn't filled with too much junk yet, so you can go fill it with healthy things. The new house needs some decorating and things need to be unpacked, so that should keep you busy and away from snacking. Shall I go on? You can do this! :cheer2:

Twinkles - Congrats on the 2lbs lost! Doesn't it feel great? I am a step behind you to Onederland. We will have to throw a party then. You are doing great! Hope you and the doc can figure out the after school thing. :wizard:

Linda - Glad you had a great Mother's Day. Mine was spent cleaning and painting to get ready for graduation. But at least I had all the kids with me (DH was at work) and they helped so it was nice. Monday's are great days to recommit! :flower:

To everyone else - The board has been quite, so to speak. How are you guys doing? :confused3

Keep up the great work, move, drink water, you know the routine! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

This is SO wonderful! Love the new clippie! Isn't it fun changing it! That was a great idea from whomever organized and designed those for WISH board people! This board has really helped me get motivated!

Keep up the good work Lesli54! Before you know it, you will say goodbye to the 200s!!!

I am doing fine, but we are going to WDW next month and I LOVE to eat at WDW! I just hope I don't ruin it all while I am there. I am really going to try and watch myself that I don't go overboard.

May is going great! Everyone, keep up the good work!!!
DJ

Hi gang! I'm ready to get back in the saddle! I've had a little blood pressure issue but got a handle on that. You have all done so well! :cool1: Some major weight loss!! Woo Hoo!

We are finishing the bathroom renovation and have a room left to paint before graduation in a couple of weeks. So, hopefully, within a couple of weeks my full attention can go back to getting fit. DD is going to Colorado for the summ right after graduation so I am going to have to keep busy.

Keep up the good work!!!

Lesli-Go you!!! Congrats. Won't be long till you're puckerup: away those 200's!

Welcome Tiggerkeeper.

News: My grandpa probably won't get his bypass done this week. MCO (medical college of ohio) cancelled his "Check and See How You're Doing" today. He needs it done, no questions asked. **From this part of the post until further notice, TC09 will be played as a little child, but it's okay because she's got TOM visiting** His general md doesn't want him to get the surgery done at all. What a butthead, which leads to feelings of negativity and sadness and What If's on my part (like What if he doesn't live to see me graduate, etc.), which makes me wanna do something (like shake the doctor till his Brain On light flashes and starts working again) but since I can't do that, I feel like eating. Good news is...I can't. It's after seven and if I do, I'll lose control!

Further notice. The little child has gone now. Thanks for listening you guys, it's been a long, hard week. :sad1: You're great!

Megan!!!  2 pounds WAHOO!!! :Pinkbounc Spending time with Grandma is always a plus in my book...I don't think calories count when you're with her! You'll do great on doing your own curves!!! At Oprah.com there are 5 arm exercises that are WONDERFUL and really make a difference fast....also lunges are great for the big leg muscles...find some great songs and set your clock to 20 minutes and just MOVE those muscles...each new muscle you build means more fat it needs to survive! YEAH!!! You can kick it!!!

Linda!!! You're doing better than me!! (What a great mother's day you had!!) I thought this would be my week to get back on plan...but alas, it's going to have to be next week...dh had to go to NY for a business trip (he doesn't travel often...just had a class to take..he's a software engineer and training is always ongoing I guess) so that means I'm solo with no time to walk my walks. This weekend my 6 year old had a horrible time with tummy, asthma and what one doctor called pneumonia...but her pediatrician today said he thinks it was just a bad asthma spell and some doctors misdiagnose...more than you need to know! :) But, with sick children and still trying to organize and work out the bugs on our new house (#1..no hot water in master bath #2...sewage spilling in yard...#3...front door lock doesn't have a key #4....not enough cable lines running where they need to be #5...planted some annuals to brighten my days and realized our outdoor spicket runs only hot water (hmmm...my flowers can have a hot bath but I can't???)....#6 new mattress is already sinking in middle and come on guys...I'm not that big anymore! :) ) My grandfather said if it ain't one thing it's another....and boy that rings true...but I'm knocking things off one at a time and trying to eat right has fallen to last on my list..dh comes home Sunday so I should be able to be GREAT and back on plan by then. You stick with today and you'll have a great weigh in!!!! :cheer2:

Lesli!!!  LOOK AT YOU GO!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc YOU WILL NEVER SEE 215 again!!! I KNOW IT!!!! Goals are AWESOME!!!! I always think I wouldn't have lost half of what I have if I didn't have goals...those 16 pounds are GONE for GOOD!!! I'm soo excited for you with your graduation!!! We'd love to see your smile on that great day! And boy did I ever need you when I went shopping!!! I did buy whole wheat bread...no white breads...but I bought those little snack sizes of chips/doritos/cheetos then with my daughter being sick and only being able to swallow liquids we had to load up on juice bars and sherbets...I did buy some fruit...so that's a good thing. I'll be ready to take on this weight loss once dh gets here! :) Thanks for the encouragment!!!

DJ!!! I just don't think at Disney you could really gain true weight...you walk atleast 10 miles a day...so if the scale goes up it's either new muscles in your calves or water retention from your body thinking you're training for a marathon! :) So ENJOY your trip and report all to us!!!

Tiggerkeeper!!! I'm with you!!! I'll let you get another week of painting and graduation goings on then let's get with the program!!!! I'll be ready to LOSE again after getting our household back in order!!! Let's do it!!! :cheer2:

TIGERCHEER!! :grouphug: I think everytime I had to write an essay on an individual who impacted my life or inspired me it was always about my Papaw (granddad)...I know how you feel!! They are such special people and we are blessed to have them in our lives...I will be praying for your granddaddy and hope that the doctors will have the wisdom required to make the best decisions in his care. Stay strong and I hope to hear good reports on your dear granddad! :) We're here to help you avoid food on those bad times and stay strong on the good!! :cheer2:

ONWARDS & DOWNWARDS!!!
Tara

Hey everyone!

Congrats on that big 'ol weight loss for last month!

I checked the front page. You can put me down for a loss of 6 lbs since the Jan 05. I first checked into WISH at 177lbs. I now live at 171, but did see a glimmer of 170s on the scale over the weekend.

I've decided I need to look at my weight as more of a range than a fixed number. I notice I tend to fluctuate around about two lbs, so as long as that keeps changing, I'm doing good. A week ago, I was hovering between 171-173...now seems to be 170-172. I guess if I didn't weigh every day I wouldn't have to be so weird about it ;)

Y'all keep on losin'! princess:

Thanks, Tara. You're gonna make me cry. Thanks so much you guys!!!! You guys are such a great group. "If food is the answer, could you please rephrase the question?" I know food is not the answer, but it brings good memories. (why does it DO that? we can't go cold turkey with food!!! we need it!) :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Thanks all!

I'm holding steady at 194. :cheer2: Not a gain, not a loss. Better than I expected. :cheer2: Have a great day!
