Just checking in, have been MIA for the last week. Things here are maintaining and very busy. But today is a new month and I am renewing my committment to my plan. Hopefully, I will see a few more lbs. gone soon. :banana:

Megan - I am so glad that you are doing everything that you can to get help with the emotional eating. It is great that you want to become very aware of your habits. This will take you a long way down the road to success! :cool1:

Kathy - Great job on the inches and lbs lost! :cheer2:

Linda - Great job on making it through 24 hrs without sabotaging yourself. Hope all goes well with your DD soon. :wizard:

I'm off to Long Island for another 2 weeks. Does driving 6 hours count as exercise? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I plan to get more exercise this trip and eat only healthy foods. I also plan to drink no soda. I have been almost soda free for 10 days. I had a soda with Fri supper and again last night. The one las night didn't even taste good to me. Maybe that is a sign. Will drink lots of water.

Off to start driving. Will check in later.

It is a brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :cold: morning in Chicago. We are only suppose to hit 48 degrees. :cold: :cold: Hoping for the 70's by the weekend.

Been really bad about getting my exercise in - that will be this week's focus. Also need to push the water and watch the food intake.

Been stressed out about DD17 and her issues that last night I ate pizza.....definitely NOT a core food. Did have some salad first but I will be paying for this all week. :sad2:

On an up note - DD17 did well eating yesterday and seemed more herself. It will be a long road for her with more ups and downs than we normally have. Keep your good thoughts coming!! :wizard: :wizard:

On a HAPPY NOTE - yesterday morning in my birthday suit the scale showed me...........................163.5!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: So the scale is capable of going that low.........now I feel twice as guilty about the pizza.........

Kathy - keep working on the water - have an ice bucket handy.

Yesterday was a good day.......and yes, I ate dessert.......but only because it was my birthday dinner. Today, I am 38! Do I mind? Nope. But it is definitely motivation to get into better shape before I hit 40. It is very cold here and it is not supposed to be cold on my birthday. Come on weather, cooperate! Well, today is back to a well rounded food plan, plenty of water, and exercise.

Kathy - Good to hear that you are working on giving up the soda. Personally, I think it doesn't take long before you lose you taste for it. Keep up the water! :banana:

Linda - Glad to hear that your DD was eating better yesterday. Congrats on seeing a lower number on the scale. :banana: Hang in there! :wizard:

I sure hope it warms in Chicago over the next week. My twin DDs' class will be taking a class trip there on the 10th and they are going on a cruise on the lake (which could be very cold!).

I hope things get better with your DD. BTW, I eat pizza ALL the time. In fact, I like getting a Jeno's frozen pizza and break it into 4 parts and make it in my toaster oven for lunch every day (covered with veggies). Then every weekend we have take out pizza. I just LOVE pizza! And frankly, I think pizza gets a bum rap! After all, it has veggies (tomato sauce and toppings), protein (cheese), and break (crust). That isn't bad! Well I am convinced anyway. Pizza will always be a part of my life! :goodvibes

The drive was uneventful but long. I went thru one 24 oz water bottle and part of a 25 oz bottle. Since I don't like Poland Srping water, I brought my own. I am currently on my third bottle. Beside I had a large glass of water with supper, and 2 glasses while exercising.

I went to the fitness room right after work. I did 20 min on the cross trainer and 25 min on the treadmill before going to eat with a co-worker. We decided we didn't need dessert. Next time we will order half meals so we leave room for dessert.

I would be nice if the rain would quit and the sun would shine consistently. It was nice here until we went to supper, then the rain started. It was extremely windy after work.

Enough rambling for now.

Still an emotional upheaval in our house regarding DD17 with her acid reflux and emotional state. See she doesn't eat because her stomach bothers her but her stomach bothers her because she doesn't eat. :crazy: Our goal right now is to get back to eating on a regular basis to put some weight back on. Also have to get her past the stress of end of junior year in high school. 28 more days of school.............Heaven help me!! Then there are the social issues to throw in. :crazy: Offered her professional help (counseling) and she turned me down. Wish she had an adult at school she felt comfortable with. Her counselor from the last two years transferred to another area and is only working part time. She was extremely helpful and I WANT HER BACK!! The new counselor is no help at all.........Thanks for letting me vent....... :grouphug:

Did make it to the fitness center last night - did one hour of cardio but need to focus on the eating and water. :banana: :banana:

DJ - still cold weather here but we are suppose to start warming up by the weekend.........Chicago = :cold: :cold: Where in Indiana are you located? Our DD20 goes to Indiana University.

Linda - We will be staying at OKW. Our first trip as DVC members. Can't wait. Seriously need some downtime.

I am having somewhat the same problem with my dd who is a freshman at Hollins University. She has been sick since last Monday adn the people at health services aren't much help. She is going to try to get into a off cmpus doctor today and see what is happening. She is losing weight and has severe cramps. Because of the cramps, she's not eating and the food service (under new management) isn't very helpful with her food alergies.

Hope you daughter gets feeling better.

Everyone else - keep up the good work with the weight loss. My efforts seem to be better when I'm away from home because I don't have access to the garbage and I do better with the exercise.

Good morning all! Yesterday was pretty good, but I convinced myself that I could eat popcorn at 9:30pm because it was my birthday. 1c. probably wouldn't have been bad, but I ate 3/4 of a bag! Not such a great idea and no more of that. Time to move on.

DJ - If my DD17 could live on pizza, she would. It has always been her favorite and I suspect that when we visit her after she moves out, pizza will always be on the menu. ;)

Kathy - Good job at getting in the water and exercise. Hope your DD gets to feeling better too. :wizard:

Linda - Vent all you want. At least then you aren't turning toward the food. Try to see if your DD will drink a Sports Shake. They are in the dairy section, sm cans in six pack and come in different flavors. My DH has Crohns and before his surgery, when things were very painful it was one of the only things that he could handle. It has a lot of vitamins, her stomach wouldn't have to digest it much, and maybe a little at a time would start getting things back on track. Hope things get better soon. :wizard:

We live in Muncie (Ball State University). I haven't been in the Bloomington area before, but it looks like a nice place (we are originally from Ohio, but DH got a job here at Ball State after Grad School).

It looks like this weekend will be in the 70's here, so I am HOPING by next Tuesday it is warm in Chicago before my girls go on their field trip.

I am going to weigh in on Thursday, so I hope I lost some since the last time. I would usually go on Friday, but DH's uncle passed away and we are leaving on Friday for the service in Ohio.

So 2 more days to 'lose' before I have to face the scales.

Today while I was shopping at Walmart, I decided to pick up a pair of size 14 jeans. I knew I wouldn't fit into them, but figured I could use them as an 'incentive' to try them on as I lose weight.

Well, I got home and tried them on....AND THEY FIT!!!! I have been wearing size 18 elastic waist jeans (the 14's have a zipper, something I haven't worn on my jeans in years). I call my 18s my "grow with me" pants because they can fit through many different weights no matter if I lose some or gain some.

I just can't believe I can wear these new pants! I am going to save them for vacation next month. I also bought a Medium top on clearance yesterday. It doesn't look as good as I would like on me, but I do have another month before our trip. Wouldn't it be something if I could wear my new top and jeans to Walt Disney World (of course, after enjoying myself on vacation, I probably won't be able to wear them BACK home :rotfl: ).

Anyway, I was just so excited, and I wanted to tell someone (and frankly, I haven't been talking about my weight lose to my friends here, I thought I would just let them figure it out for themselves).

Now I can't wait until Thursday for my weigh in! I do think I should be getting my new 30 pound cliippie (I was only 1/2 pound away two weeks ago when I weighed in).

Hello Fellow Losers!!!

Chris - Great job on the loss. You are SO close to the 150's.

I lost another 1.8 pounds which puts me at 54.8 pounds and a weight of 153.2 I am so happy knowing that I'll never see those 160's ever again and the 140's are SOOOO close.

We leave for our cruise in 2 days, so doubt I will be checking in again until we get home :goodvibes

Everyone keep up the great work and we'll be celebrating more 150's soon!!! :cool1:

To everyone else: Eragh! It's been one heckuva rough day. People can be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (not soo, for those of you who don't know) mean. "They" called me fat and told me to eat it. That's not bad, I can take that. But A) the guy was at least two of me with room to spare and B) I'm PMSing (tmi?) so everything starts off on a bad foot. Squad leader tryouts for marching band were AWFUL. I feel yucky about how I did! I have a migraine.

Hope your day was better than mine all. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
 
All boxes are unpacked...tomorrow we get fast access internet (always had dial up and boy will I ever be glad to get rid of that!) so I'm back to my losing ways...I don't even want to mention how much junk I've had..I'm afraid the 170's will have forgotten me! UGH! 3 meals a day and all of them fast food...I have been sooo busy and on my feet all days but I'm sure it's done it's damage...I weigh in Thursday and will just have to start from there and see how badly I treated myself...I had to get in touch with you guys as soon as possible before I let another cheat day go by.

Tera!! WOW!!! I need your enthusiasm to get back on track...you're flying through the 150's! :)
