Just worked out on the treadmill for an hour!!! Wooo!! Do I feel good, people!

http://ffh.net/music.asp?mode=want This is the album by FFH that I was working out to. I love the first song. The sample doesn't play enough of it but you get a little idea. And my RealPlayer doesn't make it sound as good as it does on my cd.

Anyway, I had a great time. The best time working out so far. I really feel like I can do this.

Hi Lesli54... :wave2: sounds like you're doing well. Keep it going!!

Linda..........I christen(?) thee.........an official WW member! :wizard: :wizard: Your life will now consist of healthy meals, healthy exercise and journaling your everyday travels. If you choose to accept this mission........(no, wait).....umm.........to love, honor, and obey.....(no, that's not it).....oh, well.........JUST WELCOME TO WW!. :teeth: I'm sure you will have a great week. When I was a member, I always had big first weeks that really got me motivated. You can do it, just keep to your plan.

And if you want to know what diet I am following, here it is..........ready?.......you guys are going to think I've lost it.....The NoSdiet or No "S" Diet. Ok. I found it on the Web a few weeks ago.

It basically has 3 rules and 1 exception.
Rule 1. No Sugar............Now if once a month we have pancakes, I do allow myself real maple syrup. But this kind of thing happens so rarely on a week day.

Rule 2. No seconds.............you heard me. No seconds on anything during your meals. This can also set you up in a way, because you can tend to fill your plate the first time with too much. I'm in the learning process of this one.

Rule 3. And this is where you're going to think I'm crazy. NO SNACKS. I know, I know. So many feel that snacking on good things can be a good thing. ;) But not on this diet.

Ready for the one EXCEPTION............Except on days starting with "S". That's right. On Saturdays and Sundays or Special Days, if I want a donut, I have a donut. If I want to snack on popcorn during a movie, I do it.

They say eventually those good habits you build during the week will spill over onto the weekends and Special days (like Thanksgiving, Christmas). I'm already noticing that I don't take seconds on "s" days. And I try to choose good things to eat for all the days. I have a salad almost everyday for lunch. I make my own bread with no bleach, no chemicals flour. But no more counting carbs (but you are cutting out a lot of sugar), counting fat........just eating like a normal-thin person eats. They have choc. chip cookies, just not half a recipe!! :teeth: THEY go out for breakfast sometimes and have grits!! Why can't I?? Why can't I learn to eat normally................I think I can..........that's why I started this.

But the biggie for me is portion control. This is where the rubber meets the road. It began years ago when I could have as much as I wanted because I was in sports. I have to learn. I'm trying now to be very careful. It's been going well.

Are you sorry you asked now Linda??? :teeth: And I'm tellin' ya, Linda.......I have the Butt-prize. But I'm going to give it away soon..........BUT NOT TO ANY OF MY BUDDIES HERE!!! :earboy2:

Tara..........I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!! AAAAAAAA!!!! :cheer2: This is so exciting!! Keep up the good work. I know what this must mean for you. If I think about it too long, I'll start to cry. I wish success on you, dear and all the rest of the group. One step at a time, people, right?? How do you eat an elephant???.................ONE BITE AT A TIME!!!

Regina................. :cool1:  Re-gi-na, Re-gi-na your-go-in, to-do-it.............good going!!! I can't wait to get my 10pound clippie back. :guilty: Soon......... :)

Elizabeth............... :grouphug: If I had a dollar every time I have "been there", I think my children's college education would be funded!! I'm not kidding! But I'm glad the scale was good to you. When does your son get back? Isn't homeschooling great in that he could do this now and not have to wait for summer? Hang in there, girl. You have come so far already. You can do it.

And you bring up a VERY good point. Why don't we come to each other when we've messed up or we're not doing the greatest?? I'm guilty myself. I stayed away from the WISH board because I knew I wasn't doing what I should be doing. But where do I find encouragement??? The WISH board! SO WHY WOULD I STAY AWAY FROM THE PLACE THAT HELPS ME??!! It doesn't make any sense, does it??

Do I think that noone on here has struggled like I have?? Do I think that noone here messes up?? Why do I think I'm the only one?? Why can't I feel comfortable coming to this group and saying....."I WANT TO EAT A WHOLE BATCH OF CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES AND I THINK I'M HALF WAY THERE!!" What's so terrible about admitting to you guys that I'M NOT PERFECT? I don't think you will "throw me out", will you??

So.......to that end..........I would like to tell you guys something. From now on, I am going to post, no matter if I'm doing well with my plan, or not doing well. The only reasons you won't see me on here is if life gets hectic/too busy or I'm sick. I will come to this group even when I have messed up and be "totally real" with you. You are a caring group and I feel I can be vulnerable with you if I need to. How's that? I'll call it.........BTR......Be Totally Real. Mistakes and all. :)

Boy, have I blabbed on. I'll catch up with everybody later. Sorry so long. :sunny:

Hey gang!!!

WOW!! I like that NOSdiet!!! I just wish there weren't any days starting with an S...I'd do okay! :) I'm so good at tricking myself that I'd start saying every day is "S"pecial! :) Way to go on finding a GREAT plan!! I think you sound really strong and committed!!!

My diet is kind of a hodge podge of everything...started out doing phase 1 of South Beach Diet...great for shocking me into realizing how many carbs I eat and they weren't good ones! :) But once I upped the exercise I really had to add in more carbs...but then I get to that point where as I add in carbs I add in eating more....portion control is big for me, too. So here's where I stand...I keep a can of low carb Slim fast available for those times when I'm out of my low carb breakfast foods (eggs/bacon/sausage/cheese) and then I'll eat a normal meal (today was a little off...my dear mother brought me groceries because my children had the stomach bug and I couldn't carry them out...and she bought Cheezits! :)) So, I slimfasted for breakfast...had a mozzarella stick for snack...had a ham sandwich with a cheddar slice on wheat and about 10 Cheez-its and one chocolate chip cookie...for dinner I'll have a slimfast...now if I hadn't had that cookie I'd probably eat a very small dinner....like half portions of chicken/veggies/salad...but on days where I allow myself an "off" plan food I try to stick to slimfast. I also try to fit in 2-3 days a week of lowcarb eating...I'll eat 3 full meals but they're all veggies/meat and maybe one piece of fruit. So I'm all over the board...just keep each day from being a potential gaining day and the weight will come off. Tomorrow we're having a birthday party for my 90 year old mamaw....so I"ll slimfast morning and supper and eat normal at the party. I listen very carefully to my body and that one cookie I had today is just fine...I don't need 3-4 later on like I used to.

We MUST come here when we have off days/months/ and it's fine to say, Hey guys..I need a break..can't focus on losing...just here to peep in and say I'm with you guys...and when you feel stronger...and want to push ahead..we're here!! Losing, Gaining, Maintaining...we're all gonna hit each of those...we're still the 150's CLUB!! :)

Lesli! :teeth: I would pay someone to turn my body into a machine! :) Wouldn't it be great to wake up and hit a button on your belly and it just automatically start walking 4 miles for you??? That Oprah's Boot Camp has been a curse and a blessing...I love that I committed to it...but I have to be honest and say I LOVE my day of REST SOOO MUCH!!! :)

Trying to get the nerve to do my 4 miler...it's windy windy and low 50's....ick! The map still shows rain for the next hour...so I hope I can get it in or it's the 4 miler WATP tape....it's much easier to do it outside!!!

Losing the pounds to gain the healthy heart!!! :)

Tara

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Huge Group Hugs all around!! Your guys tips truly touched and motivated me. I'm definitely going to work on the more water thing. And I Love a good challenge so I joined the April exercise challenge so I will definitely get myself moving more. There is a yoga/pilates class at my gym I might even go to. But most of all I just want to thank each and every one of you for your encouragment you rock guys!!!! So far today has been a good day.

ANyways I keep hearing a lot about this Oprah's Boot Camp?? Can anyone tell me where I can get more info on this, it sure sound interesting. Well off to workout some more.

Jen

Good morning ALL!

Today, I stepped on the scale and it hovered between 222.5 and 223  , finally settling on 224 :confused3 . But that is ok, because I know that it will just be a matter of days and I will see that 222.5 for good! It feels GOOD to be that much closer. :cool1: I figure about 5 more lbs and I will fit into the next size down fairly comfortably.

Glad to hear that everyone is doing well. Keep up the good work and don't let the weekend derail you! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Is it too late to get in on this? I have a ways to go, but I want in :flower:

Megan - WELCOME! Anytime that you want to get healthy is a good time to join. Many of us here still have a long way to go and some are almost to the 150's. The people here are AWESOME and can lend some great support. You can also consider journaling, as many have found that it helps keep them on track and makes them aware of what they are doing (including myself). Hope you have a great day!

THE SCALE MOVED!!  I lost .5 lbs!! :cheer2: :cheer2: I am now down to 223.5 (yesterday's flicker on 222.5 was better, but.....) and that is ONLY 4 lbs. from the 210's!!! :cheer2: WOW, I am less than 74 lbs to my goal (or 64 lbs from the 150's)!! BETTER YET, I am only 13.5 lbs from reaching my mini goal by the time DD17 graduates in May! YEAH!!

I know, they are only just numbers, but they sure are sounding smaller all the time. DH told me yesterday that he was proud of me and happy that I will have more energy this summer. BTW, he is down almost 5 lbs, as of yesterday and happy about it. I noticed that he is working harder at not eating late at night. :smooth: The plan is working, I must be rubbing off. :smooth:

Hope everyone has a great day, drinks lots of water, and keeps losing! If you are in Daylight Savings Time, I hope you didn't forget to Spring your clocks ahead. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Jen!!! Gotta love  those challenges!!! They really see me through to the next level and I don't think I'd lose half the pounds I do without them! :) You're doing GREAT and you'll love feeling your body change with all that upped exercise! :) Oprah's website has the boot camp info and you can join in there...they give you tips and ideas that I've found very helpful.

LESLI!!!! WAHOO!!!!! GOODBYE .5 pounds!!! two sticks of butter GONE from your body!!! :) And I actually LOVE those .5 pound losses...they're usually followed by a WHOOSH week and you'll be surprised to find yourself in the teens skipping over some numbers!!! When I got into the teens...I REALLY knew I wasn't going to stop...it was a huge turning point and I get all tickly knowing that you're going to BE THERE SOON!!! :) AND Great news on the hubby!!! Isn't it GREAT when they catch the losing bug!! :)

Wendy (TWINKLES) YEAH!!! Welcome!!! Come on in and let us know how we can encourage you! WISH is full of great losing opportunities! check out some challenges and like Lesli said...check out those journals..it really helps me! :) The goal with this group is to get to 159.5 on the scale and stay below that number! :) YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

I haven't weighed yet this morning....TOM flew in out of NOWHERE yesterday and although I did pretty well at my grandmother's party (only had about 5 bites there...but I did manage to stop by Pilgrim's Place Barbecue and get some chicken with that GREAT white sauce which I found is a great low carb sauce as well...I'm assuming...it does have cider vinegar and lemon juice in it) and after a 6 hour car ride yesterday I feel bloated...but I will weigh...this week I'm weighing daily so as not to miss any milestones! :) And I had 2 diet cokes which I've not had a good while...no water at the party and the water fountain tasted icky! Next time I will bring my own bottle! :)

Have a great SUNDAY!!! We lose an hour....so let's pack some extra moving into the hours we have :)

Tara

I did 45 min on the treadmill this morning. Was going to do 45 on bike but got busy doing the tax returns I had here at home. Also had to work on the Union I doing at home. After next Sat, no more tax returns for me. I will be back on Long Island and I'm not taking any with me.

Food for today was:
breakfast: 3 eggo waffles, toasted, w/o syrup, banana
dinner: pork chop, broccoli, baked potato(souldn't finish it), diet caffeine free pepsi
supper: veggie pizza w/onions, broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, diet caffeine free pepsi.

Water - only 40 ozs so far, usually drink another 20 before going to bed

It seems to be easier to stay on track while living in a hotel room. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I don't have food readily available all the time. The munchie attacks are less frequent knowing there is no food around.

Onward and downward

Evening to all!! :flower:

Well tomorrow morning starts the exercise routine again. Need to get back in the groove again. I really miss it :sunny:

WW is going ok....following Core is not as bad I thought it was going to be. Hoping to see a weight loss on Thursday evening. Too bad it can't be in the morning right after the morning bathroom routine and naked :rotfl: :rotfl: Like those numbers much better but I think it would scare the people at the meeting. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Kathy - I have a question - is dinner at lunchtime? and supper at dinnertime? :) It must be a regional thing....in Chicago we say lunch instead of dinner and dinner instead of lunch........confusing. Keep guzzling and moving:):)

Tara - Keeping my fingers, toes and everything else crossed for your milestone.......hey am I burning calories this way :rotfl2: Just getting over TOM and had a weird one.......little to no bleeding, mucho cramps and my first case of mild nightsweats.......It really blows to get old:)

Lesli54 - WOO HOO!! Don't you love it when you know your scale is working!! Keep it up or down as the case maybe........That darn old scale will move again........I know it!!

Welcome to the newest members of LOSERS!!!!!! :cheer2: You have joined a fun and crazy  group that will support you to the end........

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Linda

It is a bright :sunny: :sunny: morning here in the Midwest! I am lovin' it!

Another .5 lbs down! 3 more and I get a new clippie! Now, I am not normally a person that gets obsessed with weighing everyday. However, right now, I am trying to remind myself that working out is a good thing. I probably will back to weighing 2x weekly at the end of this week. The exercising is coming along, about 45 minutes a day, but yesterday was only 25. Time to bump it up this week.

Sounds like everyone is doing well. Keep up the good work! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Good Morning Losers!! :sunny:

As Lesli54 told you it is sunny in the Midwest. Lesli54 where are you located. I am in the Chicago area and we are suppose to get up to 65 degrees today. WOOHOO!!

Back in the exercise routine. Got up this morning and did a 30 minute 2 mile brisk walk. Getting my haircut at noon and then off to the fitness center. Today was the first day back from spring break and there were no subbing assignments so more time for ME!!!

Got on the scale this morning and back to where I was 3 weeks ago so my ticker tape is correct!! Hoping this loss shows itself at WW weigh in on Thursday evening.

Happy Monday Everyone!! Keep moving and LOSING!! I want to be like you guys - LOSING!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Linda

Hey Gang!!!

Lesli....YAHOO!!!! .5 pounds gone!!! :sunny: I weighed daily for the first 8 weeks straight and recorded EACH weigh in in my journal...I thought I'd go nuts...but I really think that helped me stay the course. I'm weighing weekly now but the past few days I've weighed daily to make sure I don't miss the magic numbers ahead of me!! My 60 pound clippie claim and my jump into the 170's...alas, TOM has been mocking me and I'm up .5 pounds to 182...but I WILL get that clippie THIS WEEK!!! Nothing can stop me!!! :) I walked 12 miles this weekend and I'm doing my pilates DVD and going to add in my arm free weight exercises...boy those are TOUGH! But I measured today (how desperate I am...the kids ran off with the measuring tape so I had to use dental floss then measure it against a metal measuring tape...ugh!) Great to see my waist is 10 inches smaller than my hips...but not so happy to see my arms are as big as my calves!!! UGH! :)

Chrismiss!! WHAT A GREAT WAY TO START THE MORNING!!! Who needs coffee when a brisk walk can get those blood vessels pumping!! :) And you're planning on doing more today??? THAT'S THE WAY!!!

Off to straighten up the house...had one showing this weekend...no word yet...need to sell it SOON!!! We might lose our house in Huntsville if we don't sell!! UGH! IT'll all work out and I'll be more fit and able to handle whatever comes our way! :)

Tara

Tara - You will get that clippie soon! Try not to worry about the house too much, it will sell. You are now being taught patience.

Linda - I'd love to walk in the mornings, if I could get it in before everyone gets up. That will be my next goal and I think now the warmer weather is coming, it will be easier to do. Currently it is 58 in the shade. :cool1: Time to open up the house. I am just a few hours west of West of you. We live about 40 minutes southwest of Sterling/Rock Falls and 30 minutes northeast of Moline/Davenport, IA. Basically in rural midwest. We go up towards Chicago a few times a year and until DD17 chose another college, I thought we would be going up that way more, but alas we are now going south.

Feeling good today. Off to do my journal. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Good Morning!!! I can't wait until its nice enough outside to start doing some walks especially since the sun is now staying up past 9pm at night. So enjoy your morning walks. But none the less it still snowed some more yesterday...snow in April..only in Alaska!! Anyways, going to do work, school, work, study, and then end my evening with a workout DVD to calm myself and get ready for bed. The closer it gets to graduating time the more things I find myself having to do with little time to do it UGHHH!!!

Tara..don't worry your house will sell soon! And then that burden will be off and then I bet even more pounds will come off...and that clippie will come LOL!! I swear, stress must be a holder on of fat or something...LOL!!

Good Luck this week guys...Be big losers!!

Linda

I refer to dinner as my main meal. It usually happens in the evening except on Sunday. Was brought up to think of the main Sunday meal as dinner.

Hey all!

Glad to hear you guys are all doing so well!

Thanks for welcoming me so nicely :) I was a little heasitant to post. Glad I did :goodvibes

Megan - I just noticed how young you are. (Your ticker is cute). It is AWESOME that you are concerned about becoming healthy at such a young age (I wish we all learned earlier). Looks like you have already lost a few lbs. Keep up the good work! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hey gang!

How's the losing feeling going this week? I was doing sooo well today...perfectly on plan...then I saw these butterfinger easter chocolate eggs on 75% off and had to get them for the kids...there are 4 in a pack and of course I only have 3 kids...so blew it on one egg...it's TOM and the folks looking at our house this weekend LOVED the house just didn't like our neighborhood...first time we've heard that one. Can't change the neighborhood so I ate an egg...UGH!!!

Megan!!! You're going to be 16 this year!!! WHAT A SPECIAL TIME!!! We're here to help you get where you want to be! Just check in and let us know how it's going and how we can help! We'll help you kick this summer into high gear and blast into your 16th year fit and FEELING GREAT!! :)

I managed to do my cardio pilates....and my weight workout...so that was a plus! Hope everyone is enjoying the good weather....except Jen!!! OH MY!!! I don't see how you do it! But I've heard it's just beautiful up there....don't see how you stand the all day sun or most day dark....you're welcome to come and visit me anytime! I'll either be in Tennessee or Alabama where the summers are hot and the winters mild.

I'm starting tomorrow with a renewed song in my heart!! EAT LESS MOVE MORE!!! :)

Tara

Good Morning my favorite LOSERS!!! :cool1:

We are actually suppose to hit 75 degrees today!!!! :sunny: :sunny:

DH is having a colonoscopy done this morning so it has not been a happy house:(:( Poor guy has had to stay waaaaaaaaaaaaay to close to the bathroom :rotfl: :rotfl: Keep telling him it will all be over in a couple of hours.

Back on track with exercise - 30 minute walking tape in the morning then onto the fitness center - 30 minutes on the elliptical, 25 minutes on the recumbent bike and 15 minutes of stretches, weights etc for a total of 100 minutes!! Woo Hoo!! :goodvibes Don't know how today will go depends on how my DH does.

WW weigh in is Thurs evening. Crept on the scale yesteday morning and I am back to the infamous 166.5 which I believe is the lowest amount my scale will show :sad2: According to my weigh in last Thursday I am 173.8 so hopefully I will see a loss this week. Wouldn't be great to have the official weigh in at 6am and in my birthday suit :scared1: Could you not see the people running out of the church screaming in terror all this fat and blubber :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Tara - sending you :wizard: pixie dust to sell that house. Activity should be picking up - this is the time of year that people start looking so they can move over summer. Hang in there and NO MORE Butterfinger Easter chocolate!!! ohhhhhhhhhhhh but they taste soooooo good!!

Megan - You are such a cutie!! Will you be getting your driver's license when you turn 16? Remember - no eating when you get home from school until Mom gets home from picking up your younger sibling. Hang in there!! :flower:

To the rest of the team - Keep Moving and Losing!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Happy Tuesday!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Another great day!! Another .5 lbs lost! You guys must be tired of hearing .5 everyday. I promise that next week, I will go back to my normal weighing routine. Now that the sun is out, it is getting easier to stay busy and not munch.

Tara - Remember, patience on the house, it will sell. Besides, I want to visit when I go to Atlanta this fall, so it will work out. At least you didn't eat a whole bag of chocolate eggs, it could have been much worse.

Megan - Maybe you can take a walk around the block until mom gets back. That would help with the eating. My DD15 gets her license this fall and she's excited.

Linda - Isn't it beautiful here? Hope things go good with your hubby.

Jen - Hope that you get "outside walking" weather soon.

To everyone else, have a great day of losing! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo
