Just checking in, this weekend has gone fairly well. I have stayed on program as far as eating, and I have done fairly well with exercise. This evening, we are going to my in-laws to visit, while there we will also take the dog for a walk.

My big news for the weekend is that I was able to wear a pair of PJ bottoms that were to small at Christmas time. My husband bought them for me, and while they weren't super tight, the were snug enough to be uncomfortable.

WELCOME Daisy's Mom! Enjoy your walk! Hope to see you around often! :)

Hi gang! You all are doing really great! I am so impressed! I have finally recovered from the first ingestion of pollen this year only to join the TOM club.  Did ever get the feeling you can't win for losing? :rotfl2:
Tomorrow starts a new week with new goals I am so going to behave!! ::yes::

Hey, there are some new clippies looking good sister friends!!

Keep dropping those pounds! You look mahvelous!! :jumping1:

Hi Everyone :wave2:  How many times do you let people come back? I have had such a hard time staying OP this year and I'm so disappointed that instead of seeing the scales go down the past few weeks they have just gone up, up, up but have I stopped what was causing it? Well of course not - but that changes tomorrow! I'm back OP - I'm walking 1 1/2 miles everyday, no excuses. Wish me luck. I so want to get off the pounds I have gained over the past few months. I was down to 187 in Nov and I'm now up to 209. I never thought I'd see those numbers again. So here I am 50 lbs from 159 and ready to rock! Wish me luck. :) I promise to be here much more often - I'll need lots of support but I promise to give support just as much to all of you!

We are always here! Besides, you didn't really leave... you just took a detour! ;) Way to go eveyrone!!! You are doing great! Keep up the great work!

I on the other had ate sooooo badly this weekend (TOM is tomorrow) I am ashamed of myself! :confused3

Have a great, healthy day! :cheer2:

Good Morning!! :sunny:

I'M BACK!!!! :flower: :flower: Right now there has been more sunshine in Chicago than there was in Florida the entire 4 days I was gone. In the 25+ years I have been going down there never has there been such horrible cold nasty rain and temps. It was like staying home:(:( First time ever the weather forced us to change plans......... :sad2:

Anyway - I have been reading all the posts in my absences and WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!! You ROCK!!! :cool1: :cool1: Keep going you will get me back on track.

Did not get as much exercise in as I had hoped because of the weather unless you count burning calories to stay warm :cold: :cold: Wore a t shirt and 2 sweatshirts and still froze :cold: :cold:

Also ended up with food poisoning from a grocery store in the area. Will not be eating veggies and dip anytime soon. Had a "flushing" kind of day if you know what I mean:):) Did not leave the hotel room or bathroom for one whole day...........

Anyway back on track starting today. Not sure I want to visit the scale. You know I am an addict...........have to stay away.

Next two weeks will be tough. Leaving town again on Thursday (just for Indiana) and again late on Easter (for Michigan, Indiana and Illinois) - college shopping for DD17. Need to get through this and then I can focus on ME!!! :goodvibes

Keep moving and I will catch up to you!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Missed talking to you!! :sunny:

Have a magical Disney Day!!

Linda

Good Morning fellow losers

Yesterday was weigh in since I won't be home many Mondays for the near future to weigh in. I am back down to my 4.5 lb loss after gaining 2 lbs back. Exercise at the hotel must have helped.

Am out of town again for 2 days. Followed DD up to Maine so DD2 could check out UNE and have an interview with admissions. She wants to transfer from Hollins to UNE. She misses the snow (crazy or what) and decided an all girls school wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

It seems the only place I have been the last 3 days is in my car. Friday 6 hrs, Sat 2 hr (back and forth to client), Sun 6.5 hrs to Maine, Tues 6.5 hrs back to Syracuse. Therefore the only exercise I have been getting is walking around at rest areas to stretch my legs. Will drive back to Long Island on Easter after taking DD2 to the airport to go back to Virginia.

Plan to exercise at least 4 days this week. Will see if that really happens. We are meeting DD at the universty for lunch after DD2's appointments with admissions and financial aid. Haven't eaten college food in over 30 years. It should be interesting.

Onward and Downward

Karen!!! Thank you sooo much for posting your how to's!! It really seems simple to eat less and move more...and when you do it sooo consistently like you have it equals some major losses!!! Your workouts are sooo great and varied that all of your muscles are working together to shout away those fat cells!! They don't have a chance!!! Glad that banana is back..because you are moving it and shaking it like a losing champ!!! And I bet your kidneys will be thanking you as your body settles into a healthier diet and lifestyle...you're a true champ!!!

Regina!! :cheer2: First it's pajama pants, then it's some shorts you haven't worn in a long while, and oila you are THAT MUCH CLOSER TO GOAL!!! All that consistent eating less and moving more will make you one fit momma for summer!!! Keep up the great work!!!! :cheer2:

Daisy's Mom!!! WELCOME!!! :grouphug: I don't know how you can start off joining better than by walking off some pounds!!! :) Hope you had a great walk!!! We're here to see you down to the 150's!!!
Tiggerkeeper!! It IS a new week!!! Let's knock some pounds out of this one!!! Not many more days in the month of March...let's see how many we can leave March with! And start getting focused before those Easter dinners!! I know mine are always filled with lots of goodies...portion control and we can lose and enjoy!!! :)

Kaye!!! :grouphug: We are ALLLLLL going to have those days/weeks/months!!! Heck, my lowest last year was 182..then this January I hit 202!!! I'm now back to 186 and still not at my lowest but WILL BE!!! It's just about eating less and moving more like Karen said...and once you're in the rhythm of that you can't not lose! :) We're here to help you find your rhythm!!! Jump back in and feel GREAT about today being the LAST week you'll EVER be at 209 again!!! That's what I say to myself....this is the last weigh in I'll ever see XXX...and usually it's held true...so be strong and get a nice pair of walking shoes to cushion those great daily walks and you'll see the results!!! :)

Jen...I really wish we could just throw out the 10 days before during after TOM...they just really wreck our plans, don't they!!! We'll see you through TOM and onto a great week!!! You can do this!! You are such a great cheerleader...we couldn't make it without you and you'll see some LOSSES after TOM!!! :cheer2:

Linda!! That's miserable!!! The one great thing about Disney is being able to walk miles and miles and not feel like it's exercise!!! Without sunshine, that's pretty hard to do!!! Have a great time helping prepare your daughter's move to college...it's a special time for both...I remember clearly my mom doing the same thing and the tears she shed once my dorm room was all complete! :) We're here for you!! Know you've been through it before...oh and college campuses are great for long walks!! Plan a couple with your daughter and share some special moments!! :) You will LOSE!!! Off with the pounds! But hope that tummy trouble repairs quickly!!! :guilty: Icky!!!

Kathy!!! College food is GREAT!!! Go for the veggie plate...that mysterious meat can sometimes be tricky! :) And take some long walks with your daughter!!! I lost 90 pounds my first year in college because I had to walk everywhere...no car until my senior year! :) Enjoy that time with your daughters...there's nothing like having your mom at college...and WAHOOOOOO on your weight loss!!! :cheer2:   Your hard work wiped out that off week and you're back at a losing stance!!!! You DID IT!!! Give yourself a big pat on the back!!!! Here's a hug from us!!! :grouphug:

Going to try and make this a great losing week...wise choices...and moving more!! :)

Tara

I would be thrilled to be in the 150's too! I have a long road ahead, but just taking it a little at a time (working on the 5 pounds per month challenge).

I hope to be there someday! And if all goes well, we will be sailing on the DCL next year around this time and I WILL be there by then!

Thanks for letting me join in the club!
DJ

Hello all, sorry I have been MIA the last few days. I have not had much time to get on the computer and won't have much time during this week. I will be leaving for Indiana in the morning and won't be back until Saturday evening sometime. I will try to sneak in sometime during the week to see how everyone is doing.

I WISH everone a good week!! :goodvibes

Everyone is doing great!! Keep dropping those pounds!! :cheer2:

Even though my walk yesterday like to have killed me I'm not too discouraged. My calves and I just need to have a long talk about warming up next time. I made it though and was quite pleased when I clocked the mileage later to learn that I had walked .8 miles. That's not a lot, but it was more than I've walked in way too long. I hope to get a walk in this evening if the sun is still up when I leave work. I have my workout clothes just in case and my fingers crossed. It's encouraging to read this thread and see all the daily support provided. I can just feel the love. :grouphug:

Good luck to everyone!

Hi there,
Is it too late to get in on all this great support? I would love to be in the 150's. Haven't seen them since Junior High. I have read some of your posts and you all seem so nice and helpful. I have been struggling to lose weight for all of my teen and adult life. It makes me so sad all I have missed out on. I haven't done so much for fear of my weight causing issues. I am heading to WDW in May and I would like to lose 20 lbs. by then so I can fit more comfortably in the airplane. Seems a silly thing but with 100 plus to lose, it is such a big deal for me. Anyway, if it isn't too late to join you folks, I would love to be able to check in here. :flower:

To all who have just signed up for the 150's.........YEAH! WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME!

Sthronds - It is never to late to join. Well, actually there is only ONE time that it will be too late :rotfl2: , but I think that is part of the reason why we are all here. To keep that one time at bay and enjoy living life! You'll like it here. The support is great and I gaurantee that you will find a kindred spirit. Something that has helped a lot of people, including me, is journaling. Pop on over to that board and feel free to read a few. It is great to see that others go through the same thought processes as you do.

Daisy'sMom - Kicking off your program with exercise is great! :cheer2: Take everything you can get and run with it. It takes time, but if you keep it up then it will be so much easier next week.

Westjones - You are on the right track by breaking down the weight loss into small goals. It sure is easier on the mind to see "lose 5 lb., not 50" (even though 50 or any other number may be a final goal). When you really think about it, 5lbs a month really isn't that much in the scheme of things. I know you can do it!! :cheer2:

Kayeandjim00 - Keep coming back as many times as you would like until it works. I can't count how many times I have started a plan to lose and it didn't get as far as I wanted. Just keep thinking "I CAN DO IT!"

To everyone else - Keep up the good work on those losses, drink plenty of water, and stay away from the danger zones! :cheer2:

As for me, I have had a little slip today, 2 GS cookies, but that is now behind me and I have a great dinner in the oven. I bought some items to make exercise at home easier and more comfortable. Also, I am trying to catch up with the water since I forgot to take it with on the errands. By the way, I want to know WHY they put chips (including Tara's cheese curls :rolleyes1 ) on center aisle displays right across from all the fitness equipment. Is this a contradiction or what? I passed them by, but now I am trying to figure out the marketing technique for this. :scratchin Well, I will check in later and keep up the good work guys. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Welcome Daisy'sMom and Sthronds, you will find this is a great place to receive support and to vent when thing get rough.

This weekend has gone well, and this morning DH, DS4 and I cleaned the house, which makes it easier to focus on taking care of myself.

I love the support I receive here, I also enjoy checking in and reading the posts during the day.

Congrats! That is so great!
I am hoping to get my 25 pound clippie next month. If I could do what you did and lose 3 pounds in 1 week I could have it next week, but my lose is going slower. You are doing great! Keep up the good work!

Good Morning Losers!! :cool1: :cool1:

Welcome to all of the new faces joining this great team!! :Pinkbounc Can't wait to get to know you better. How about a quick bio? I am 48yrs old, DW and DM of 2 DD (20 and 17). Need to lose about 40 pounds and live in the chilly chilly :cold: Chicago area.

Back on track as of yesterday. Total of 130 minutes of exercise yesterday!! WOO HOO!!  Tried a yoga class last night which I think I will add to Monday's agenda.

This is the week leading into TOM:(:( which means I will want to eat everything in site that isn't moving :rotfl: :rotfl: Will be needing your help with that one.

DJ - I am also a very slow loser - just stay focused on one pound at a time. Those last 3 pounds will come off in no time.

Clr1194 - WOO HOO!! Way to go on the loss!! :bounce:

Lesli54 - Good for you - getting past those evil GS cookies. Just keep moving and they won't be important to you!! ;)

Tara - How is house selling going?

Kathy - I really admire you - I never want to exercise when I am on the road. Will be leaving for Indiana University on Thursday - back on Friday night so hoping to only miss exercise on Friday. Keep moving!! :cheer2:

To the rest of the Losers :rotfl2:

Keep Moving!! :cheer2:
Keeping Drinking!! :cheer2:
Keep Watch on Food!! :cheer2:
Keep Losing!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Have a magical Disney Day!!

Hi Linda!
You did great with your exercise yesterday! Way to go! I absolutely HATE exercise, and must confess I haven't been doing it. I am 'hoping' to talk myself into walking more starting next month to help me get ready for our trip to WDW in June.

I am 45 (or will be on Thursday--only 2 days left of being 44), a SAHM or twin DDs (age 11).

I have been weighing in at Weight Watchers; I am a lifetime member, so I only go weigh in every 2-3 weeks (lifetime members don't pay for missed meetings). I haven't been following the points system though. I am trying a new approach this time, similar that the one discribed in the Weigh Down Diet book. The bottom line is I am eating less than I did before. It has been working so far (20 pounds since January).

I have a long way to go, I still would like to lose 40 more pounds, but so far this new approach to eating is working.

Anyway, my short/long term goals are to be 15 pounds less by the time I go to WDW in June and to be at my goal (40 more pounds) by the time I sail on the Disney Wonder next March!

Nice to meet everyone! Hope everyone has a wonderful spring season. Good Luck everyone!

It's nice to see another from Chicago. I am not too far away, but live closer to the Mississippi. Much slower paced, but I love visiting Chicago.

The scales aren't moving, but I am not giving up hope. At least I am not gaining. I didn't get in all my water yesterday, it was hard to catch back up. Well, I got past the GS cookies only to grab 2 more later, then I indulged in Bunny Tracks ice cream. Not good. It was a much smaller portion than normal, but not good. Anyway, I don't think that will happen again, THANK GOD! First of all, the taste just wasn't as appealing as "before" and secondly, I fell asleep on the couch watching a movie with the oldest DDs and when I went to bed, I slept horribly. Also, I didn't wake up early and ready to start the day today. The feeling of losing control just isn't good after you have begun learning to take back control. So, all sweets off until Easter, where I might have a treat. Somehow I will get through this week of cravings because I need to stay in control.

Everyone have a great day!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

DJ!!! Welcome!!!! :grouphug: 5 pounds a month is a GREAT GOAL!!! We'll be here until you hit the 150's!!! Just come on in and share your journey!!! 20 pounds since JANUARY!! That's a WINNING LOSER!!! Thanks for sharing your eating style...it's so GREAT to read other's paths and try to see if they work for us!!!

clr!!! WOWZERS!!!   3 pounds!!! SO LONG BABIES!!! What a great losing week for you!!! Have a great road trip!!! We will be sending great travelling thoughts with you to help you with good food choices and moving lots! :) Let us know how your trip went!!!

Daisy's Mom!!! Wooo those calves are going to be THANKING YOU before too long!! The first few days after starting a new exercise plan means tenderness and soreness, but after sticking to it for a week...you begin to CRAVE those walks and that's a GREAT THING!!!! You can do this!!! Hopefully the Spring days will bring lots of good weather for you to enjoy! :sunny:

Sthronds!!! Welcome!!! :grouphug: There are several of us that need to lose 100 pounds or needed to lose 100 and we're on our way (me included!) You can do this!!! And 20 pounds off by May is doable and you will feel great having that off to enjoy those long walks!!! We're here until everyone gets to 150's!!! It may take us a few months or a few bits longer...but we'll be here for you!! Check out Karen's tips on losing...she's lost 26 pounds in 9 weeks and has done it smartly!!!

Lesli!!! Good job on choosing some good foods!! Hope you enjoyed your good dinner last night!! I avoided the cheese curls yesterday but had to have a scoop of mashed potatoes....I swore off french fries but just couldn't pass up those mashed ones! :) Let's get these pounds GONE!!! :) Say goodbye to yesterday....those cookies/bunny cream are in the past!! Go pick out a pair of smaller pants and put them on..usually when I go all day in really tight pants I won't eat a thing wrong...do whatever works for you and you'll soon see the scale moving in your favor!!!

Regina!! I love a clean house...just makes for no excuses when it comes to exercising! :) And I really feel all those muscles working while sweeping, mopping, dusting and folding clothes! :)

Chrismiss....WOW 130 minutes!!! That is HUGE!!! I really could kick it up a notch...I've been doing 45 minutes daily but I had been doing 20 minutes strengthening with weights and I've been so bad at adding that in...hearing you do it in style makes me KNOW that I can add those back in...I do feel stronger and I know I can leave March weighing less than February! :) Can't wait to see how the scale rewards you!!

I had a regular eating day yesterday...thought I'd go no carb until my weigh in on Thursday but with the exercise I am doing I just got all light headed and broke down and had 4 tortilla chips and mashed potatoes with dinner...everything else was low low carb but I just realized like Karen I really need to use those replacement shakes rather than doing low carb...it was great for a week...but with adding in Oprah's boot camp I just really need some carbs..just need to stick to good ones. We had a showing Sunday and last night...hoping we hear something on our house today!!! It's gonna happen, it's gonna happen...
