Good THursday Morning

I wrote something yesterday but it got erased before it went through and then we lost power for most of the day so I never got back on. We were without power from 11 AM until about 8:45. When we got home from our meeting we were celebrating the power back on when it went out for about a minute. It went out about midnight and at must have come right back on but the lights on the clock were flashing so at 2 I had to fix them so we could get up in the morning. We all were told last night that we had a delay but about 7 this morning I got a call that I was off. I had already showered pressed my clothes and eaten breakfast. I'm just glad that I hadn't left already.

All the things that I wanted to get done yesterday I will probably try to do today. I was planning on sewing yesterday but with no power I could use my machine (If only I had a treadle machine).

I am off to ride my exercise bike and then drop ds off at school and then I hit the sewing machine.

Hello old and new. I hope you are staying warm where ever you are. Have a great day.

Good Morning!

I'm working from home today, so I was able to get up and workout before hitting the computer. I've got my run in, which feels great. This was my first workout this week that didn't feel totally uphill, so maybe I'm getting a little more fit.

I came so close to sticking to my food plan yesterday! I just went over with 1 container of 100 cal Pringles. Considering how much I had been eating, this is a huge improvement.

Today I've had cereal and milk for breakfast, a few almonds for a snack, and I have my LC planned for lunch. The afternoon is a dangerous time for me, so I have carrots, celery and green beans all ready to go. I actually like raw green beans. Who knew?! :goodvibes I'll have another LC dinner, and a WW dessert. Last night I had the double fudge cake. I'm not sure what tonight's choice will be. I need to go shopping this weekend and stock up on dinners and desserts again.

Dona -- I'm so glad to hear your power is back on, and you are able to spend today doing something you enjoy :cloud9: . I'm trying to get up the resolve to drive to a meeting this afternoon, but I've been watching cars slip and slide down my street all morning. We really got more ice than anything in Boston, and it's not pretty. Well, it's pretty to look at, but that's about it.

Nikki-- :welcome: It's like old home week, Jen just came back, too! It's great to hear from you. I'm glad Jenny Craig is helping. Congratulations on 10 lbs.! That is awesome.

Michelle-- I also love the WW Key Lime Pie! I tried it for the first time, and I am hooked! It's a good thing it's pre-portioned...:rotfl:

Melissa-- The puppy sounds adorable! And I know he will keep you busy running around. How are those arms coming? Are you still enjoying the personal training?

Jen-- How are you liking the new video now?

Kathy-- You must still be digging out from all that snow. I hope you're feeling well.

Linda-- I believe you had some serious snow, too. How's it going?

Disneynut-- How are you feeling? I don't remember where you're from, so I hope it is warm and sunny for you!

By the way, dh threw in the towel and we are awaiting a plumber this morning. Hopefully I will have a functional kitchen sink (and be able to run the dishwasher!) by the end of today. :wizard:

Everybody have a great day, stay warm, stay dry, and stay focused!
Maria

Dog gone it! This thread is busy!! So much to catch up on! NOT that I am complaining...that means some losing is going on, right? RIGHT!!

BIG :welcome: to Disneynut!! Everybody is welcome here! Grab a water and start posting! :rotfl:

Jen and NikkiBell, :welcome: BACK!! Glad to see you! I am counting on you to keep this thread busy! :woohoo:

Dona, how is the sewing project coming? I am so glad I live in the South and snow is a one - two day thing! Yeah, but we totally close down for a small sprinkling so we might a well have a foot or two!

Michelle, planning a Disney trip will keep you busy and away from snacking...sounds like a plan! Hate to hear the male child is sick that's always so rough, hope he is feeling better.

Maria, way to stick to your determination to lose weight!! :yay: You just keep pluggin away! I have never had the WW meals how do they taste?

Kathy must be up to her eyeballs in snow and taxes!! Hang in there!! :scared1: :grouphug:

The arms are finally functioning again and I am seeing some small definition coming on! My arms have been awful looking for the past 15 years. Tonight is another arm and shoulder night with the trainer....ouch! But hey, pain is weakness leaving the body!!! Oohrah!

The puppy is another kind of pain but he is adorable and is finally letting me sleep through the night.

Keep warm those of you living in the frozen parts of the country! I hear shoveling snow is a good exercise! :lmao: Seriously, y'all take care!! Get busy drinking that water, exercising and for heavens sake stay on that eating plan!!! :cheer2: :grouphug: :cheer2:

We actually had school today, but a 4 day weekend (conferences Friday and Pres. Day).

I had quite an eating day yesterday-good with the snacks, bad with the dinner. I just can't eat after 8 pm or I go hogwild with hunger! I get so hungry I make bad decisions. Yesterday I had spaghetti with a couple ginormous meatballs (3 large heart shaped ones) and sparkling cider.

Today was better. I had:
-2 meatballs
-2 slices toast
-1 TBSP peanut butter

-grilled chicken sandwich (I had a HECK of a time putting this on fitday!)
-3/4 bag of pretzels

~Michelle: for my nutrition class, we had to price all of our meals one day. Junk food is REALLY expensive! Go for those skinny clothes!

~Welcome back Nikki and congrats on the weight lost!!

~Maria: I'm doing the video tomorrow all the way through, no interruptions come heck, high water or snow!

~Melissa: thanks for the welcome back!

Gotta dash for chorus practice!

:cool1:

Howdy All!

Today was a crazy day. Due to the snowstorm, we had a delayed opening at school (I teach fifth grade) so I tried to sleep for a little bit extra. Unfortunately, I just couldn't fall back to sleep. Once on the road, my car's steering wheel was shaking from all of the ice and below zero temperatures. At first, I thought I had a flat, but then realized what was going on. It was completely fine tonight on my way home. :moped:

Today's foods...:cutie: Oh before I start, Jenny Craig requires you to eat...ALOT! So, this is why my list is so long! lol.

Cranberry Almond Cereal, Milk, Clementine

Yogurt

Broccoli & Cheese Stuffed Baked Potato, Salad, Dressing

Apple

Sweet & Sour Chicken, Broccoli, Zucchini, & String Beans

String Cheese

Slice of Wheat Bread w/Peanut Butter

Toffee Bites Cookies

Keep up the good work all!

:wishten (Since *WHEN* did the DIS put our clippies here??? That is great! :thumbsup2 )

This is just a quick reply to say Hello, Congrats, or Welcome to all. It's kinda late and I need to get ready for bed. If I'm not back for the weekend, have a great weekend and see y'all on Monday. Tomorrow is grocery day :scared1: I will try to make healthy choices including my WW deserts :thumbsup2 Bye for now.

Good morning!

Dinner was a Chicken McGrill (no mayo), and fries. Miraculously I came in at 1500 calories.

Then I had a basketball game (the band plays at home games). But I didn't even eat a thing!!! I was thisclose to having a zombie bite of a pretzel and some popcorn. But I didn't. I had two bottles of water!!

For breakfast today, we're going "out" to Bob Evans (my request). I'm going to have either 2 slices of French toast, 1 slice of ham, syrup to dip and water or the Lite Sausage Breakfast of Country Lite sausage, Egg Beaters, fruit and unbuttered wheat toast. More likely the FT one.

We're going grocery shopping sometime this weekend, plus I have to work at the local drugstore from 2-6. What are some healthy filling snacks I can bring so I don't break down and attack the candy section?

Nikki-Is Jenny Craig like Nutrisystem? Or can you find the foods anywhere? Are they packaged meals? I wouldn't mind being able to eat like that at all!

Michelle-Have fun/good luck and how are you feeling?

OK, I gotta crow a little...I walked (at a brisk pace) 4 miles on the TM last night! Oh yeah and worked with the trainer on arms, back and abs for 30 minutes. It felt great! I haven't really worked on the TM very hard lately but man, 4 miles! For me it was a big deal...I have the attention span of a knat! :thumbsup2 I am downloading some tunes for the ipod so I can get another 4 miles in this afternoon, hopefully I am on a roll! I got to get rid of this "mommy tummy"!

NikkiBell - you're right that is a lot of food. But yum, the choices!!

Jen, congrats on the good choices you are making! It had to be hard to resist temptation! My trainer suggested the Special K breakfast bars and they are yummy! Good luck grocery shopping beware those dangerous isles! :rotfl:

Michelle, you be careful at the grocery store too! It is full of temptations!

Have a great Friday everybody and a fabulous weekend! I am decorating the church gym for the youth True Love Waits this weekend so I may not be around much.

Hey, hope all you snow bunnies are keeping warm!

Gotta do housework today..not my favorite thing to do! Ugh!

:grouphug: :cheer2: :grouphug:

Hi Jen,

NutriSystem is absolutely terrible and nothing like JC. At JC, they teach you how to eat and the goal is not to lose weight, but to change your lifestyle. The food is a combination of their's and fresh fruit, veggies, and milk products you get on your own. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner main entrees are JC. Hope this helps! It really is a lot of food and I am losing each week. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the help, Nikki! It sounds really good but is it expensive?

Congratulations, Melissa!!! Woohoo! Good job on the exercise!! It was really hard to avoid everything; all of my friends were chowing down on hot dogs and popcorn and kept offering me little bites and snacks off their snacks. I made a commitment and I stuck to it, so hopefully it shows tomorrow at weigh in.

Grocery Store Plan of Attack:
-in
-buy stuff
-out

We bought:
-fruit (apples/clementines/bananas/pears/strawberries)
-Soup at Hand (3 creamy tomato and 1 chicken and stars) *for work only*
-whole grain Hot Pockets *kind of for work only*
-yogurt (5 vanilla and 4 lemon of Dannon Light and Fit)

Breakfast at Bob Evans wasn't bad. I had 2.5 pieces of French toast, ham and water. I told myself that I really was satisfied and I didn't need that extra half.

Gotta go-I think I'm going to have fish, salad, fruit and yogurt for lunch! :)\

Keep on losing!

It is expensive in the beginning because you need to pay for the membership. But, as time goes on, it gets cheaper. Every ten visits a percentage is taken off of the food. It is great!

I weigh-in officially tomorrow at JC for Week 4. I keep peeking at my own scale and the numbers are always going down, so that is good. :cool1:

Today's foods...:cutie:

Triple Grain Crisp Cereal, Milk, Strawberries

Yogurt, Clementine

Thai Lemongrass Chicken, Vegetable Stir-Fry

Salad w/Dressing

Wheat Bread w/Peanut Butter

Clementines

Lentils w/Beef, Broccoli, Carrots

Cheese Curls

It sounds great, Nikki! The food sounds wonderful... *drool*

I did well at the game-only water. I went to a friend's house to film a project for English class and they served pizza. I had 4 slices (I was ravenous) and water. I got some strange looks from my friends, but I said that it was for the musical and I had to stay hydrated. I don't think I'm going to tell them YET because I want to make sure I do okay first. Some people at my school go to extremes with the exercising and the eating too little...not a good thing.

I weigh in tomorrow! :) WISH me luck (just a little bit, just a little bit! OOH!)

Have a great night! I'm off to have a yogurt and do some crunches and gravity splits.

Good Saturday Morning

The sun is shining and my dh and ds are gone until tomorrow.

As of Thursday night I have another Eagle SCout in my house. We are so proud of my sons and happy that part is over. Now college decisions to make.

Also Thursday night I fell on some ice and I thought I just hurt my leg but that is not the partt that was bothering me Friday or today. I can't sit properly because I hit my tailbone and it didn't start hurting until yesterday morning. I have been sitting on a ice pack onn and off since last night. I tried to do some yoga but it hurt too bad and I don't even want to think about my exercise bike. I can walk but I am taking it slow.

Jen Congrats on the weight loss. Keep up the good work.

Nickibell Welcome back

Michelle I hope everyone else is feeling better especially you

Melissa Congrats on 4 miles You must feel proud that you have gotten that far.

Maria How are things in Boston? Have you gotten out of your house? We still have a lot of ice in my section of Jersey and some people are still without power. My keeps flicking on and off. All the clocks in my house are flashing since I am tired of setting the clocks. The ones on the cable boxes have clocks and that is what we are using for time.

Have a great day everyone. Time to get busy around here.

Good morning morning morning!

It is a beautiful Presidents Day today! Everyone enjoy.

I played laser tag for an hour and 50 minutes-I really enjoyed working up a sweat running and tagging people. That doesn't mean I was any good, but I loved it. I had Pizza Hut for dinner, which wasn't the worst thing I've eaten.

Today I have a dentist appointment at 9 and maybe play practice at 3:30.

*Dona*-hope your tailbone feels better. Congrats on the Eagles!!! My brother is in Boy Scouts and he is going through his boards of review.

Remember everyone, by waking up this morning, we are victors over who we were yesterday!

Has anyone seen Tara recently? Is she okay?

Morning!!!!

This was an up and down weekend. I weighed in on Saturday and only lost 1.2 pounds. I was a bit annoyed, but I do know that there will be weeks with a weight loss like that or less. That night we celebrated Valentine's Day being that we were stuck in the snow on the real holiday. We went to our favorite fancy restaurant around here and I had lobster. I found that I did not like it any longer with the butter. I was shocked. It had so much more taste without it! I weighed myself today and it appears that my meal out had little to no effect on my journey; I'm down another pound already! :)

Sunday was back to normal...

Blueberry Muffin, Milk, Strawberries

Yogurt

Chicken Salad, Crackers, Applesauce, Salad w/Dressing

Bruschetta Veggie Chips

Fish & Chips, String Beans, Broccoli, Yellow Zucchini

Apple Slices, String Cheese

Today...

Silver Dollar Pancakes, Veggie Sausage, Milk

Yogurt

Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup, Salad w/Dressing

Apple Slices, Clementine

Cheesestick

Beef & Mashed Potatoes, Vegetable Stir Fry

Popcorn, Milk

Oh man, what a weekend! I was really busy. I did not stick to any diet, I ate out twice :sad2: I didn't gain too much, a few ounces. I feel really bad about it, but it's over now. I took the baby to her four month appt and they said she isn't gaining enough weight she eats all the time and I hope that allmy dieting isn't bad for her. I try to eat about 1900-2000 cal a day. The problem is now that I have to feed her all day long, I'm so very hungry!!! It's very hard to stick to a certain amount of calories when I just want to eat all day long. I do want to go to the WW meeting tonight. I have paid the day care up to date so I can take the kids to day care tonight for an hour or so while I go hang out with adults :woohoo:

Nikkibell, I went to JC for a consultation, but I think it might be out of our price range. Plus they told me I would need 2300 clories because I'm breast feeding :scared1: How can I lose weight on 2300 cals? I guess they know what they are doing though. Congrats on the success with the program!

Jen, :dance3: Yeah for 5 pounds!!! And your measurements went down alot too. Good for you.

Dona, I hope your butt feels better soon. Ice is a tricky foe, it's always tripping someone up.

Anyone I missed, I'm sorry, but I have to go because the little one is screaming for me! Bye for now.

They would gradually decrease your calorie level. I am decreasing from 1700 to 1500 next week in fast. I will then go down to 1200 in a few months.

You lose 500 calories EACH time you breastfeed, that is why the amount was so high.

Hey everybody, Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is in losing mode today!

I worked with the trainer on legs last night so I only walked two miles on the TM. He said he could see some changes starting to take place....yay! I can see a little difference in my clothes. But darn that mommy tummy is still hanging around. I am going to Destin for a long weekend this weekend maybe I'll get in some water! That means I have to work hard this week if I am going to get comfortable in a bathing suit.

Stay focused and lose some poundage this week!! :woohoo: Good luck to all!!:grouphug: :cheer2: :grouphug:
