My goal is to drink more water, too!!!! I have no diet drinks in the house and I need to get my water in daily!

Also, committing to weighing every Monday...that will keep me strong and help me stay focused....

Tip for staying on plan...go try on bathing suits! :)

Off to start this day!!

150'ers UNITE and LOSE!!! :)

Good morning all.

I was released yesterday to do light exercise. I will be at WDW this weekend cheering on those who are doing the Minnie. I wish I could join them but can't risk messing the foot up again.

My goal for today is to drink only water. I have reverted to drinking too much diet soda lately. I feel better drinking only water.

Need to get to work.

Have a great healthy day.

Morning everyone.

It is a beautiful day here in NJ. The sun is shining and they say it is going to be in the 70's today.

My students are right now in the AP Calc exam and I am very nervous. I know that some of them will get a 5 easily and some will be lucky to get a 3 (5 is the highest and most school will give college credit for a 4 or a 5 depending on the school.)

My eating has been awful for the past week and I am trying to contain it. MY meals have been okay but it is the snacking that I have to contain. I am also upset with my older son. He is finishing up the semester and all he does is eat. This must have been a tough semester on him since he has gained about 25 lbs since Christmas. I have tried talking to him and last week he listened but this week he his back to his rotten eating habits. I got mad at him the other night when he offered me ice crream and I told him I was trying to lose some weight and I didn't need ice cream. He finishes up his two hardest classes with 2 tests today. Tomorrow he has to write three papers and do a presentation next Tuesday morning and he is done. I think the tests today is what is bothering him the most because they are the hardest. Maybe after today he will get his eating under control. At least that is what he has told me he will do.

I have worked out three days in a row and I am happy about that.

Yes summer is coming. We are out on June 15th which is very early for my school (last year we went until the 29th of June) I am looking forward to the summer and yet not. I will have no vacation plans whatsoever because my hhusband and son are going to a big boy scout camp in New Mexico and that is where all out money has gone. My younger son will be gone from June 30 to Aug 5 with only one week home.

My neice wants me to help her with her silver award for girl scouts. She wants to make some blankets for Project Linus. I may also be going to a class for AP Calc in NYC. It will not be a vacation. I went about 5 years ago and you are in class from 8 - 4 and then have homework and the commute to deal with. That week I will probably live at my parents house which is right outside the city. I can then take a ferry into the city and it is a short bus ride to class.

If I had the money I would probably book a trip to DW by myself at the end of Aug before I go back to school. It is a dream but like some of my other dreams they don't usually come true because I am too practical. Why should I spend this money on me when my older son is going to a more expensive school next year. My sister offered to go with me and then I don't have to pay for my room because she is DVC member and she hasn't used all her points for the year. I don't know if I want to do this. She can be pretty bosy even though she is my twin.

Well I better end. I didin't think that I would write this much.

I hope everyone is having a losing day and getting a chance to move.

Kathy...I"m with you on the diet sodas...I'm so much better with water...and it's almost as easy as popping a top on a diet coke but I just crave that bubbly cold drink...but I don't have any in the house now so that's good. I find the more exercise I do the more I crave water...I have no excuse or injury so I should be out there 2 hours a day doing something big....just a busy life that gets in the way or lack of motivation...I did try and do my 3 mile walk this morning but it started raining on me and think I only finished a mile...hoping to pick it up later this morning with the kids...they should be able to manage a 2 miler. ENJOY DISNEYWORLD!!! Have a wonderful time...and what's the Minnie? I've not heard of that one.

Dona! Hoping your AP students ROCK today! It's a high pressure test but I always found them fun in an odd sort of way...I love challenges. Maybe you could design an AP weight loss test for us! :) Your summer sounds busy...I've heard about the Boy Scout camp in New Mexico and it's supposed to be a BLAST! The troop my son will join next year went there and LOVED it! But it is pricey. I say go on the trip with your sister and just enjoy yourself! Let that be a goal you can use as incentive to losing those pounds...check off the weeks you have till the trip and imagine yourself that much thinner! I pulled out a pair of size 10 jeans I bought on sale last year...I measured the hips (my worst portion) and realize I only have 8 inches to lose to fit into them! That sounds like a lot but when I walk consistently my hips go down QUICKLY!!!! So let's power down those pounds and inches! :)

I will wear those jeans in September!!!! :)

Find your zone today gals and reward yourself with a nice walk outdoors or more water! It's a wonderful start to a healthy new you! :)
Tara

Maria: Did you see LOST last night? WOW! I didn't see that one coming! So what is your theory on what is going on with Michael? Do you think he is brainwashed now?

Linda: I didn't keep the 8:00 stop eating thing on Tuesday....BUT last night I did! Even with watching LOST! I decided to ask my DD to join me. She is always getting out an evening snack that looks good to me and then I go for it too. I asked her yesterday to join me in the 'no eating after 8:00' thing. She is wanting to lose weight and I am trying to help her. I started packing her lunch because you can make a lower calorie sack lunch than what they serve at school.

Tara: I will look for my zone today! :teeth: My exercise will be mowing. We don't have a self propelled mower, so it is work to push that thing around.

OK, so I had one good day and am hoping to make today good too. We leave 1 month from today for WDW and I am NOT going to move up in size before our trip! I want to wear the shorts I bought on clearance last year.

Anyone else feeling like MAY is dragging? My kids are sick of school, *I* am sick of school, I am so ready for our summer schedule.

Debra

Good Morning Ladies,

Donac, since you are so close and have nothing to do, why don't you come see me at the Dismeet in Allentown on the 15th of July.

ok so I haven't been successful with the water, but I have not eaten past 8 pm.

I was able to load up the freezer with the Lean Cuisine meals, so I'm happy about that. Acme was having a sale on them so I purchased 20 meals for $29.00. The sale ends today, so I gotta go back. Yesterday, my kids weren't cooperating with me too much.

I have to work at the gym this evening, so I will get in some workout time while I'm there. YAY!! I've been feeling like a slug. This weekend won't get much in except helping Ellissa deliver her newspapers, as DD Taylor is receiving her first communion on Sat.

We are taking the kids on Sat night to the drive in to see The Wild and The Shaggy Dog. I'm sure they will have a blast.

Anyway, I gotta go take care of Mickaellya, she has been a little imp today. I sure hope this stage is short..... or I'm not going to make it.

See ya later

Good Morning!

I'm eating an apple as I type, so I guess healthy eating is in today!

Last night I was too whipped to exercise -- still not breathing clearly, and I ate Chinese food -- spring rolls and shrimp lo mein. At least I know I could have made worse choices.

I really want to lose 20 lbs. before our August vacation. Last year I started at the end of June, and was able to lose 10 lbs. before I left. I am determined to top that this year. When I was focused, it just happened. So, I'm going to have to be focused again. I was living, breathing, sleeping, consumed with thoughts about our trip, and that helped me resist temptations. I'm having trouble getting that enthused about this trip, because it's really more dh's idea than mine. I guess I'd better invest in some books about Bermuda! It's probably not a good sign that I'm already actively campaigning for what I want to do in 2007...

Tracy -- I really like LCs. I used to eat them for lunch every day. I think that's a habit I need to reinstate! :thumbsup2

Debra -- My jaw is still dropped from LOST! I couldn't believe the last 5 minutes. I think Michael has been brainwashed, and I think we are going to be shocked from now until the finale. :scared1:

Tara -- You will wear those jeans in September! I know you can do it! :goodvibes

Dona -- I think you should go to DW, if there is any way to make it happen. It sounds like you could use a boost, and need something wonderful to look forward to. ::MinnieMo

Kathy -- I hope you have a great time at the World! What better place to perk up your spirits! pooh:

Linda -- Are you packed for your trip yet? Ready for dd's big debut tonight?! :woohoo:

Jen -- How is bringing snacks working for you so far? :cutie:

Everyone have a great day, and let's keep working on those good habits!
Maria

Tara - the Minnie Marathon is an inagural race this year as part of the enduracne sports series at WDW. The race is a 15K and follows the last 9 miles of the marathon course. It is advertised as "Women Run the World". Men can compete, but they can't get any prizes. They are also having a 5K and 1 mile race on Sat. I have determined it is not worth risking injuring my foot again when it is just starting to feel better.

I walked this morning from my office to a clients which is about a 1/4 mile away. The weather is nice here so far but we are supposed to get t-storms this pm.

Eating is still a challenge. I eat mostly good foods but need to really work on portion control. Will need to start next week. WDW is not the place to start dieting. Also, the fact that I can start walking again, at a reasonable pace and distance, should help. Can't wait to get cleared to go back to the gym.

Need to get back to work. Have alot to accomplish this month while taking 7 days off to go to WDW and have my second nerve block done.

Good morning ladies,

Well, I'm not getting official exercise in this weekend, but I'm hoping all the up and down the stairs I gotta do today, will count as something. Tomorrow is DD Taylor First Holy Communion, and we have her Godparents coming into town. Well needless to say, I gotta have'em sleep somewhere, so today, I'm washing the sheets in this house. ALL of them... now with 6 kids imagine the amount of sheets I have.... So I got my shower, posted here, and than I'm off down the stairs.... If I don't check in tomorrow send the search party for me...PLEASE

DH and I went back to Acme last night to take advantage of the LC deal again. So now I have 20 days of meals in the fridge. NOw if I can just find another grocery store giving me the same deal. This is alot cheaper than doing Jenny Craig or L A Weight Loss(which by the way say's it's ok to eat LC meals 5 days a week). I can't speak towards WW because I've never done them.

So, I'm off to the depth's of my basement to start my chores.

Bye for now... Don't forget if I don't resurface, please send the search party out.

Tracy! You amaze me!!! All those precious little dwarfs and I envision you as Snow White going through the house tidying up and singing with your hands stretched open to receive a bluebird visit! :) Refitting all those beds will be good exercise...just be careful and bend with your knees...changing sheets is hard on my back! :) We'll be looking for you tomorrow to make sure you survived! Let us know how the movie was!

Kathy! I am coveting your trips to Disney...I hope when my kids are older that I'll be able to pop down and do quick trips like that...dh really wants to retire down there and have us sweep Main Street in our old ages! :) Stick to your work schedule so you can enjoy that time off! :)

Debra!! Hang those shorts somewhere in your house to remind you of how great it'll feel to fit into them! You can manage a lot of inches in a month...drink your fluids and try to cut down sodium rich foods...you'll do it!!!

Dh and I are going out on a date (once a year thing it seems) to see MI3 and eat out...so I'm slimfasting or atleast planning to so I can enjoy our dinner together. Will let you know how the movie is!

Feeling the pull to lose those pounds this month!!!!

Losing weight and feeling great!!!
Tara

Tracy: Sounds like a crazy weekend, hope all goes well. I bet you won't even think of food since you will be SO busy!

Tara: That is so great! I would love to go on a date with DH, but for some reason we always end up taking the kids. We don't eat out much, and so when we do, we always take the kids EXCEPT for the 1 week each summer that they go to Ohio and stay with Grandparents. THEN DH and I eat out almost every night for a week and get to enjoy being alone. That won't be until the third week of June.

Well, I have had 2 good days (Wed & Thurs) and so far Friday has been good as well. Hopingt to get back on track and stay good for most of May. I am chaperoning a band trip next Friday (over night and back on Saturday night after a day at Kings Island). I know those two days won't be good. But maybe the rest of the month will go well.

It's a beautiful day here! I hope everyone else is having a beautiful day too! FINALLY winter is really behind us. I'm still getting use to that! Winter last SO LONG here in Indiana!

Talk with you guys later!
Debra

Hi!

Another day off to a good start: I had my usual raisin bran for breakfast, and I'm snacking on a banana and raisins. I'm not sure what I'm having for lunch, but I'm thinking healthy!

Yesterday I finally made it back on the TM for 80 minutes. I tried watching Lost in Translation. I watched the first 25 minutes, and decided this was not the workout I was looking for. I have 2 Netflix movies left -- Napoleon Dynamite and a treasure hunt movie with Nicholas Cage. I'm hoping my next two workouts will be a little more energizing. My goal is to get to 10 miles for this week. Since I only have 4 so far, I guess I'll be working out both days! :rotfl:

Debra -- I'm with you! Let's stay on track for the rest of the month. I bet we will be amazed at what we can accomplish! :Pinkbounc

Tara -- Enjoy your date! I am forcing dh to take me out for lunch Monday. We are both taking a vacation day to celebrate our anniversary. He does not like to go out at all, but this is non-negotiable.

Tracy -- Sounds like you have your own Mt. Washmore! Wow, you will be pretty busy. Come up for air whenever you can... :figment:

Kathy -- Portion control is tough. The fact that you are already eating well is huge! I know you will have a great time at DW. Enjoy all the magic for me! :simba:

Have a great weekend!
Maria

Holy cow. I have completely followed the TOM diet for the past week. Not good.

The journaling that I'm doing on Fitday is really helping. It's brought a lot of stuff to my attention (like how many calories I'm eating etc.)

The fact of the matter is: snacking, portion control, and work, and bad snacks. 2% is not my fault-I don't make the grocery decisions. The other 98% IS my fault as I am not choosing wisely what goes into my mouth. I have not been making very good food choices.

Bringing the snacks has been alright-most of the time, things get so hectic that they go uneaten...or even worse, swapped out for the fresh bananas that we use for our banana splits. I am going to try even harder.

I am absolutely sick and tired of being this way. It will take some jarring of my old habits to do so, but I want to be able to wear the "cute clothes" and not be afraid of scaring people half to death.

Life has been very busy. We had squad leader tryouts on Friday-and I made it! This is living proof that when God shuts one door, he opens another. I was so happy :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Work has been nuttier than a fruitcake, too. We get busy slots and lazy slots and when we aren't busy, we're getting ready for another busy slot! Crazy, but I love it.

Prom was also this weekend for the Junior-Seniors at my school. Some of my friends got to go. That's what inspired me to drag my blucky-feeling self back here-when I get to go to prom, I want to wear a pretty dress, and I want to feel really really pretty and magical. I don't want to go feeling blucky; I want to go feeling like the confident me.

My redoubling efforts start tomorrow. I'm not kidding around either-I'm off to make the signs now and post them. Everywhere. (I made signs that showed off my goals last time and it really worked.)

OH! And if anyone could help, I could really use some good breakfast ideas. I'm tired of scrambled eggies.

Jen! I'm with ya on the poor choices...I need more fresh veggies and fruits...here are some breakfast ideas....yogurt with granola, 1/2 bagel toasted with hard cheese (swiss or something), fruit smoothie drink...just take some fresh strawberries, ice, yogurt, add honey/lemon if you like and blend, small bowl of multigrain cereal with skim milk...I think the key is having some form of protein with your carbs...and avoiding raw sugar products. You'll feel energetic and make it through till lunch without snacking! :)

My back has been ACHING since our trip to Florida....I can't sit long at the computer and it really just feels arthritic but it's non stop...I can still move and get around...I try to avoid medicine but I'm going to have to start taking some aleve to get me through and hoping the tennis/walking will warm it up some. Food choices have been average...nothing stellar that will show a big loss MOnday...but I am weighing and taking the post-vacation reality check but I'm committed to 10 pounds a month (atleast for the first two months) I know it'll slow down the last two months before vacation in September...but I'm sticking with it!!! :)

Maria!! Good for you for celebrating your anniversary with a day off...I think that's a GREAT plan!!! Do something fun and totally just the two of you! :)

Off to make my breakfast protein drink and stretch my hamstrings! :)
Tara

Thanks for the ideas, Tara! The smoothie idea sounds really delicious. I might go look for more smoothie ideas-I'll try them during the last few weeks of school, but I *know* they'll be a great quick breakfast during the summer.

So far so good. Before I even ate anything, I drank 12 ounces of water because I was super thirsty. Breakfast was 2 slices of whole wheat toast with one tablespoon of peanut butter-total and one cup Honey Nut Cheerios. 12 more ounces of water after that.

Yesterday evening I also played some "tennis". I can't really call it tennis because we lost all the tennis balls-so we used a wiffle ball :) Lots of fun-I may do that again. With the May Exercise Challenge, I decided that I need to do about 35 minutes a day to reach 1/2 way by the 15th.

I think I'm going to go take a shower and get my day going!

Morning All!! :sunny:

Well I officially have a daughter who is a college graduate!!! :yay: :yay: We were at Indiana University this weekend packing her up and attending the ceremony. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 So proud of her - she managed a double major (history and psych) with a minor in Spanish all in 4 years!!!

Two weeks to sift through the rubble that is now my living room, dining room and family room before she leaves for the WDW College Program :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Very exciting hectic times in this household.

DD18 is also graduating from high school next month. Very happy household except that I can't motivate her to get a job. She is sooooo not like me and can't understand why we are not rich :faint: She doesn't understand that she needs money for "social things" in college and we are not funding that.......this battle never ends and is a real downer :headache: I am so proud of her but don't understand her lack of drive.

With everything going on my personal health has not been a focus....so I won't even go there. My life returns to ME after June 1st. Just hanging on to the life raft until then.

Hope everyone is moving and losing.......will read the posts soon and respond but in the meantime GET LOSING!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I want my life back :teeth:

Have a magical Disney Day
Linda

Sooo I made it up from the depths of my basement. Taylor's day was perfect. We were supposed to have drizzle and clouds, but alas the weather forcasters were wrong and the day was great.

Eating wasn't too bad. I had fruit and veggies to snack on, we did do a deep fried turkey, but I stuck with the white meat instead of dark. I did have potato salad. It was too yummy to pass up. We took the kids to the drive in to see "The Wild" and "Shaggy Dog". The Wild was eh, Shaggy Dog was not to bad. DS Jonathan like some of the one liners in the Wild, and laughed pretty good at Tim Allens transformation. This was the first trip to a drive in for my kids, so we got some interesting responses when we told them where we were going. Once they got comfortable in the back of the suburban, they thought that seeing a movie this way was pretty cool.

Taylor is finishing up her placement tests for the PAVCS (PA virtual charter school). Everyone else is done. I have learned that the school they are in now, is a full year year behind in math at the 5th grade level, than they should be. I'm not sure why this would be, but Ellissa who is has a 97 average in math in 5th grade, tested in the first semester of 5th grade math on the assesment tests. She tested out of 6th grade in reading and language arts, so I believe there is a bit of a descrepency happening. She is fine with all this, and we may be able to do 5th and 6th grade math in the same year. Well see.

Well, I'm off to do the post company laundry.

I'll check in later.

Happy losing

I'm back from my 2nd Fl weekend. Disappointed about not doing the 15K but there is always next year.

At PT today, I was able to do 10 min on recumbent bike, 6 min on elliptical, and 6.5 min on treadmill. Not much but a start. I need to work up to normal exercising.

Food is still not good. Didn't get nearly enough water in today either. Need to get back into a routine of drinking consistently and eating healthier.

Need to get some supper before it gets much later.

Have a great evening.

Congrats, Linda! Wow! What a year!

I bet all these activities makes it hard to stay on a 'plan'. Well, maybe not for you (I tend to use anything as an excuse).
