Tara - for most of the year you train to train. You spend time building up you mileage for endurance and then work on speed. I haven't decided if I can do the WDW half again in 2007, but I definitely want to do the full in 2008. I need a Mickey medal like dd's to go with Donald.

Hope you are able to get your training started. You might want to take a look at Marathoning for Mortals by John (The Penguin) Bingham. That is what a lot of the WISHer's used as a training guide.

Good luck.

Hello everyone,

Well, I know I didn't leave with a lot of fanfare, but our family just got back from our 8 night/9 day DisneyWorld Vacation :earsboy: . It was awesome!!! If I get a chance, I will put a post on the trip reports board and put a link here for anyone interested.

I'll have to read up on what everyone is up to soon. Don't really have the time at the moment. But I'm looking forward to getting back to a fitness plan.

Back to a plan ???... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I've walked for miles and miles and miles. And I didn't go crazy with food, either. I weigh exactly the same as when I left. How is that even possible? Nine days of walking ... :confused3 Oh, well.

Anyway, I can't wait to go back. It will be a few years. But my DH loves DisneyWorld now, too. (Before we went, he was not all that excited about the trip). So that looks promising.

If I get the courage, I'll post a picture or two from the trip. I'm not too happy about how I look in them. They are, however, a great motivator :teeth: .

Let's loose in '06!!!

Kathy

PS - I was there over the marathon weekend. For those of you that participated, my hats off to you :worship:

Kathy,
You are my HERO! So did you go to any sit down restaurants? Any Buffets? Did you enjoy some treats? I want to be able to come home without a gain!

I know it won't happen on the cruise in March (how can you NOT gain on a cruise! But I am hoping to keept it within reason, and DH has promised to walk with me on Deck 4 -- the jogging trail).

In June, we do the WDW thing, and I do hope I can report a 'non-gain' when I return.

Congrats!
Debra

Remember I told you guys how DD1 had her first 'boy girl dance' last night and she went with her new 'boyfriend'? WELL........the boy spent the whole night hiding from her! They NEVER danced! My other DD2, was there and went and asked him why he didn't dance with DD1 and he told her he was TERRIFIED! And DD2 said his body was shaking and he was SO nervous. All the kids in their class were trying to get them to dance, but everytime DD1 came near him he ran away! Then when DD2 was by him he said, I just know "DD1" is mad at me! DD2 assured him it was alright and that DD1 wasn't mad (she was just annoyed with him). DD2 said that other kids would come over and talk with him and he was fine, but when her sister (DD1) came anywhere near him he just just shaking and twitching and would run away! So why did he ASK her to the dance! When we picked them up, DH, me, and DD1 and DD2 were walking to the car and we passed him and he said "Bye, 'DD1 and DD2'" and then DD2 said that was the most he said to DD1 all night!

We are still laughing over the 'first date/boy-girl dance' experience! I guess I really didn't have anything to worry about! DD2 said NONE of the 6th grade boys danced with any of the girls, but some of the 7th and 8th grade boys did, so maybe it is an age thing.

Anyway, it was TOO funny!

----------------------------

OK, food wise I have had my 1200 calories for the day and am trying to not eat the rest of the night.

10 weeks from today I fly to Orlando for our Disney Cruise and I want to be down an extra 5 pounds so I can eat EVERYTHING onboard!

Jen: I'm so glad you get to sing in the play! I hope you have a lot of fun!

Tara: So nice to see your lively posts back!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Debra

Eating went okay yesterday. I'm making a pledge to myself to write things down!!

L: two slices of deli ham, corn, two vanilla Light n Fit Yogurts with Splenda (6)
D: chicken soup and I think 12 crackers (7)
S: nachos at the movie theatre :-( and water

I also had to go to the hospital yesterday! My thumb is the size of a sausage due to an inflamed cuticle (swelling, pus filled...TMI!...the whole bit) therefore I'm working handicapped and taking pills. Which means exercise for the most part is out of my control.

Things to focus on today: Healthful eating (hard because I'm kidsitting today), portions, water, no eating after 8, and no reading/TV while I eat!

B: 10 tortilla chips and salsa (3)

Gonna go soak my thumb now...

Jen - sorry to hear about you thomb. Take care and heal fast.

Great job with the food choices.

Hey just checking in! I have been off WW since before our Disney trip. I was planning on starting back up today, but I don't know if we are going grocery shopping today. I also signed up for the Discovery Channel Health challenge and got a free 8-week membership to Balley's so I will be working out soon! I hope you are all doing well and I will race you to 150!!

Don't you notice the rear of your pants fitting a bit looser??? I KNOW YOU DO! :) SO CELEBRATE THAT AWESOME conditioning!!!

Debra...if anyone can do Disney and not gain...it's YOU!!! I know you'll have a GREAT time! How crazy a dance night!! That should be made into an episode of some teen series! :) So terribly awkward! :) Glad your daughter is sooo cool with it...i can just see my daughter at that age crying her eyes out! :)

Kathy! Thanks for the tips on the marathon...I just have to DO IT!!! You're such an inspiration and I love the shirt even more knowing the back! :) Oh, I think I still need your email if you want to do the 8 week group thingie...my email is lmhall2000@yahoo.com...hope you can do it! :)

Jen...ouch on the thumb...that happened to my husband and I had to poke and drain for a week...ouch!!!! Keep soaking! :)

All 150'ers...GREAT job losing!!! :) Here's a neat site you can punch your weight in and get an ideal weight and BMI...
http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm

Have fun with it!! IT really helps to get a good range in...my goal of 146 is good and they picked 155 for my weight...so smack in the middle of 150's! :) But I know 145-149 is ideal for making me feel GREAT!:)

Had 2 slices bread, eggs and 1 slice bacon and grape juice for breakfast...trying to slimfast the rest of the day....

Tara

Sorry I've been MIA lately. This past week I have been a big eat anything I want, sit on the sofa and do nothing, vegetable! Tomorrow I go back OP. I am having to wait a little on fully getting back to the exercise. I am having problems with my feet & having a bone scan on Tuesday. I should be o.k. cross training on the bike though.

The race was AWESOME!!!! Did the 1/2 with mom. I didnt do as good time wise as I would have liked (started race having to go potty & finally at mile 3 had to wait in long line took almost 10 min) but I finished ahead of the sweepers & got my medal. I can't wait to go back. SHHH-I'm not ready to say it out loud yet, but I may go for the Mickey medal next year. :faint:
I am doing the Minnie 15k in May & hoping to be able to run more of it.

Everyone there was so supportive, there were all kinds of people imaginable (even people doing it in jeans :scratchin ) I met Kathy (NYcpa) and her daughter before the race started as well as a couple of other WISHERs.

Anyone that is even halfway thinking about it-DO IT!!!! You will not be sorry. The gospel choir brought tears to my eyes as I entered Epcot.

I plan on being at least 35lb lighter by the Minnie.

Let's get going losers!

:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :rose: :flower2: :rose: :flower2:

WELCOME BACK TIFF!!!

OUTSTANDING!!! How sweet for your mom to do it with you!!! What a great gal...I hope I can walk a 1/2 when I'm your mom's age! :) So glad you got that medal...I think that Mickey is calling your name...hey...I may even try to do it...what? Did I just say that?

Give yourself a break for sitting on the couch...your feet need rest! Hope you're feeling better soon and we've got to hook up and walk soon!

Talk to you soon!

You know what, Tara, I honestly think that being a 'twin' is such a BLESSING! My DD would have cried her eyes out because she would have 'thought' the boy was avoiding her because he didn't like her any more.....but by having a twin sister who gets in there and finds out what is going on, she was able to know the real story.

I watch my girls, and I get so frustrated when they fight with each other....but honestly, I am so thankful they have each other. I always tell them how lucky they are to have each other.

Being a twin is something really special, and I can see that from watching my girls. They watch each other's back.

Debra

Today's been alright.

But food choices have been very poor. It's always much harder in the winter time! Seriously! I get this instinct to burrow away and hide!!!

Sticking to it though because every day is a new day. I will be so happy for :flower2: s :flower2: p :flower2: r :flower2: i :flower2: n :flower2: g!!!!!!!! Because that means it's time to start afresh!!!!!!

Snacky today. Good water! I've had some sweet rolls (family tradition I will attempt to break), baked potato, a sandwich, and some bean dip on Tostitos!

I will succeed! one of these days!!!

Jen,
How is your thumb today? Hopefully by the time you go back to school on Tuesday it will be better.

Today has been a TERRIBLE eating day, I have just given up and will do better tomorrow. Weekends are killers for me. And I have been wanting all things chocolate!

I keep forgetting the girls are home tomorrow (although basketball practice is still on.....I don't understand that---if school is out, then there shouldn't be sport practices!).

I made up a lot of salad stuff, so I am going to try to use that tomorrow. Today is a "pig out" day (didn't plan it, but that is what has happened).

Debra

Hi All,

Well I went to the site to see what my ideal body weight should be. It say's 146. I would personally like to be at 130. So I have a lot to go. but I'm in. After the kids go to bed I'm going to get on the Discovery Channel weight loss and check that out.

Thanks lmhall for starting a Wish group over there for us.

Weekend went OK although I didn't get to the gym at all. Taylor cheered at a basketball game on Saturday. Oh 3 grade boys are just learning the game and all I can say was that the girls didn't have anything to cheer about. The JV cheerleaders are 2nd to 4th grade. They look very cute and try to be loud, but I fear that the people in the stands have no idea what they were trying to say. DH came to the game so that made Taylor very happy.

Today Ellissa had a game. There are only 6 cheerleaders on the varsity squad and boy are they loud. DH is a lineman and had to work today. This is a good thing as far as money goes, but going to a basketball game with 6 children is like having root canal without drugs. Caitlynne (3 yo dd) was rolling a basketball around. Can you guess how many times it rolled onto the court. I was waiting for the ref to kick me out. Than Taylor forgot that I'm old enough to be a mom so she felt the need to be on my DS Christopher's back the whole time. Than DS Jonathan, well he is own person, he was ready to leave at half time, so he was up, down, down and than up, over and under. AAARRRGGGHHH I swear I think it took the last 5 minutes of the game 3 hours. If it wasn't for the fact the DH was laid off for a day last week and that he is getting paid double time I might have thought 5 times before I gave him the phone when he got the call to work. I had to bring him to work today, he had to be there at 6 and we live an hour away from his company, anyway, he told his groundhand that I personally drove him to work so that I made sure he wouldn't be missing out on any overtime. :rotfl2:

Ok well Mickaellya has had enough of me taking time for myself, so I hope everyone has a losing week

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick check-in, Sat. was good as far as eating, and I stayed busy all day with cleaning my house and getting ready for the party. Today went okay, I did have a small piece of cake and a little bit of ice cream. We did have pizza for dinner so not that great.

DS5 party did go well, unfortuanately all of the great grandparents were sick and unable to make it. But we will catch up with them later and visit for a while.

Good Morning Team!!! Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!! In honor of this day, let's look at freedom and what it represents as it relates to weight loss.

We are free to get up and choose to exercise...

We are free to select veggies as a snack instead of cheetos...

We are free to embibe that glass of water that usually sits on the counter wilting away

What will that give us?

That will give us freedom to choose smaller size clothing

Freedom to partake in any exercise because we know we can do it

Freedom for our hearts to be the strongest and healthiest they can

Freedom to have a place like this to come and celebrate our freedom from
pounds that have weighed us down....

I have been HORRIBLE for the past month...I'm up 12 pounds from 3 months ago!!! I need to be going in the other direction...I have to get drastic and make a plan that will get me there...I've tried so many different mental tricks but I just have to do it...I'll wake each day telling myself two words...DO IT. And hopefully, it'll sink in and I'll start posting those big losses!!!

I"m ready to put our names on a roster that will show losses each week....We're at a starting place that we can prove we can only go down from here...what a pathetic loser I've been to help you guys get there...but I want the next few weeks to show you all that we'll always have times of disappointment (in my case gain) but that we can overcome our past and build a future on healthy living!!!!

Let's do it team!!!

Tara

Good Morning!!! :cool2:

Braved the new day and got on the scale after a weekend of creative eating :rotfl: Still hanging at 172.5 - I will take it but now am determined to get out of the 170s!!!

Pool Table is GONE!!! :Pinkbounc DH pulled the cable wire in and the TV/DVD is working!!! Going walking with friends this morning (no school/no work) and hoping for a yoga tape later!! I am like a kid in a candy store!!! :sunny: :sunny:

Regina - Happy Birthday to DS!! Hope the great grandparents are feeling better. Now banish all sweets and lets get this team losing!! :hyper:

Schatz - Root canal without drugs :faint: :scared: You are a good mom!! :worship: Keep moving and losing!!

Debra - You will learn that coaches of all varieties don't believe in holidays!! When my DDs were involved in a sychro skating team we used to have practices on Thanksgiving morning!! And if you weren't out of town you were expected to show up!! If that don't beat all - nothing surprises me when it comes to coaches. Dedicated people - hardworking people but too focused for me ::yes:: Get rid of all the chocolate and get moving to lose the last of your 5 pounds. Happy Monday!!

Jen - How are you doing? Did I miss the post? What part did you get in Cinderella? How is the food eating going? And how is your thumb?

Tiff - Another racer!! :worship: WOW - it takes such determination and drive to run :worship: You will race yourself to a new and slimmer self.

Tara - Thanks for all you do including the Wish group. Forget the last 3 months. We are going to get through this!! No more junk!! That is your slogan from now on!! YOu can do it!! :cheer2: :grouphug:

Kathy - What a great memory to be able to do the race with your DDs. Where is (hmmmmmmmmm is it Erin) working at WDW? I will be there in March for 4 days. My DD is applying in March - keeping fingers crossed.

To the rest of the group.........FREEDOM from the unhealthy ways!!

Happy Monday
Have a Magical Disney Day

Linda

Good morning all,

Well this AM I'm physched. I washed and dryed my size 18 jeans, today I put them on and have room in the hips, in the butt, and in the tummy. They were comfortable from the get go. :cool1: Anyway, so even though the scale is not moving the body is toning.

I got the water in all weekend, for this I am happy. But I also had a cappucino. I had to take DH to work both days and pick him up, so only 4 hours of sleep. Baby Carrots are on sale this week at the grocery store, so I bought 4 bags and will go back the day the sale ends. I'm really trying to eat every 3 hours. I almost had Ellissa's girl scout cookie order form turned in, without buying any cookies, but lo and behold, DH and Ellissa found it and order 6 boxes. This is way down, from last year, when I think he order 18. My favorites are Carmel Delites. Now EDY'S or Dryer's uses these cookies in ice cream about mid February. I WILL STAY AWAY FROM THE ICE CREAM FREEZER. OK now I said it. Now I need you gals to help me make it so.

So I'm off to buy a toaster. Our's bit the dust. or the crumbs. I went to Walmart, Kmart and Kohls and found not a one 4 slice toaster. Is there something about January that says by toasters. I'm going to Linens and Things to see what they have.

By all and have an losing day.

Linda - Erin is working in Fantasy Land at MK. She works the Tea Cups, Snow Whites Scary Adventure and Pooh. So far she like the work but is having issues with her room mate. Their schedules do not match and her roommate thinks Erin should let her drive her car. Erin's ihas been working from 7 to 5 which means she has to get up around 4:30 to get ready, eat breakfast and be to the bus by 6. She is finding out what it is like to really have to work. Her roommate started her training today as an entrance machine person at EPCOT. She will only have to work early and late for extra magic hours. Erin has to get the rides open and closed down which adds about ah hour to her day. So far she has not worked both opening and closing.

Tara - today is a new start. Forget about the weight you gained an start working toward getting rid of it. Drink your water and eat your fruits and vegetables. You did it before, you can do it agian.

schatz5k - great job on the pants fitting better. The scale is often deceptive when it comes to how your body is reacting to bedcoming a healthier you.

Regina - hope the great grandparents are feeling better. Great job on the cake and ice cream at the party. Ice cream is my downfall, I am not happy with just 1 serving.

Need to get back to work. Will check back in later.
