Fall Break = Sitting in the doctors' offices all day!
One of my DDs has fall break today, so she had a dental appointment this morning and had her braces tighened this afternoon, and in a little bit I have to go to the speech clinic with my other DD.
Sooooo I have been sitting in waiting rooms and reading magazines today. I came across an interesting article.
For those of you counting calories, this is a formula to figure out the number of calories needed for a certain weight.
Take the weight you want to be at
Multiply that by 13 calories (if you do not exercise) or.....
.......by 14 calories (if you do 30 minutes of moderate exercise 3 times/week)
.......by 15 calories (if you do 30 minutes of moderate exercise 5 times/week)
.......by 16 calories (if you do 30 minutes of moderate exercise every day)
That total is the number of calories you should have each day.
So if you want to be 150 pounds and not exercise = 1950 calories (but that is every day, so if you go over one day you need to cut back the next).
This number of calories should maintain that weight once you are there.
Now I try to not go over 1200 calories each day, but this is a good way to see the number of caloris I should be able to have to 'maintain' my weight once I get there. I have lost weight over and over again in my life, but I haven't gotten the hang of maintaining.
Anyway, I thought this was interesting.
There was another formula I found, if I find the paper I wrote it down on, I will post it later. It was for Body/Mass Index.
Today is cold and raining, but food wise am doing fine. No exercise today, just sitting in office after office. Time to go to our next appointment.
Hope everyone is doing fine!
Debra
