Happy Thursday!
Are we all ready to tackle another day?! I'm really proud of myself. My dh totally threw our dinner plans out the window and wanted to cook on the grill, and I found a way to still eat healthy. Portioned chips and lots of vegetables on my burger! Plus, I was supposed to work out yesterday, but it was 96 with the fans going in our house, so that didn't seem like the best idea. I'm ready for today though. It's in the low 70s, and it will feel great to get back on the treadmill.
I'm sticking to the 8 p.m. cut off for food, and I am seeing a difference. I'm probably losing water, but I'll take it at this point. I also think I might go back to WW by myself. I've only missed one week, and I actually think I might do better without my friend. I know that sounds counter-intuitive, but she leads me into temptation...and she doesn't really want to go, she was just doing it to have a break from being a SAHM (or that's what she told me). Although, I don't know why they call it that, she is never at home! She's very involved in church and other activities, and has a lot going on in her life. Weight loss is not a priority for her right now. She wants to wait until this Fall to start again, but I'm ready (and working on it!) now. Had to vent and think that through a minute. I feel guilty for going without her, but if she doesn't want to come...?
Anyway, I plan to be back on the treadmill today, have a healthy tuna casserole dinner (no milk, no butter, no topping) with sliced tomatoes, and a WW chocolate cake for dessert. Yum! I'm having lunch at a place called B.Good. It's a local "healthy" restaurant, where the fries are baked. I'm having fries (3pts.), and a side salad (2 pts w/dressing), for lunch. They give you all the nutritional data, so it's pretty easy to make good choices. I'm setting myself up for a good tomorrow, and trying to think like a 150s person!
Lisa -- I have the same problem with dinner/snacks in the evening. I've been cutting myself off from food at 8:00 p.m. for about a week now, and it really seems to help. I have to focus on what I really want to eat rather than mindless snacking, so I'm making better choices. I also make a weekly menu for dinner and do my grocery shopping on Sunday. This way I'm set up for the week with healthy meals. It doesn't always work, but I have a much better week when I can say to myself "tonight we are having steak with baked potatoes, do you really want candy this afternoon?"
Tara -- I have been a flybaby for 1.5 years! It has made a huge difference in our lives. I really do have my house together, and we are more relaxed as a family. Sometimes when I'm hungry I do a 5 minute room rescue first. It refocuses me just enough to make a better choice. Some weeks I just don't do the missions, others I'm right on top of it. I'm trying to apply the "Jump in Where You Are" to weight loss, too, not giving up if I have a bad week. I know you're just going to jump back in after your road trips, you have had so much success!
Renee -- You are doing great! Do you have wonderful plans when you visit my fair city in 5 days? Be sure and check the weather before you come. It was nearly 100 yesterday, and barely 70 today...
Linda -- Maintaining while you are on vacation is a great idea. I can't imagine trying to lose, especially in another country! You are going to have so much fun, but your endless enthusiasm will be missed. Let us know how that knitting is coming!
Debra -- Hope you are having a fabulous trip. Flylady is great, I highly recommend her system. It's the babysteps that do it, I find my routines really do stick after having started very small.
Jen -- How's that memorization coming? Are you completely exhausted yet? I hope it's cooled off some for you. You are doing great, we are going to get closer to the 160s every day!
Well, I'm off for my healthy lunch. Hang in there everyone and have a terrific day!
