Hello All!!!
WOW thanks for the WARM WELCOME to the 150 Club!!!

I am still trying to get acquainted with everyone please bear with me as I get to know all of you.

Menopause I had instant menopause thanks to a total hysterectomy in 2003 due to fribroid tumors and endrometriosis. :guilty: I've done nothing but put on weight since I had my hysterectomy and then their was and my separation and divorce which also contributed to the 40 plus pounds I've put on since 2003.

Hey my name is Chris and I am an emotional eater and a sugar addict. Why eat one brownie when you can eat the whole pan. :rolleyes1

I have been sick the last two days. I decided to stay home from work due to constant trips to bathroom if you know what I mean. :rolleyes2 I have done pretty well. I am following Suzanne Somer's Somerize plan in hopes it will get the sugar monkey off my back and help to get my BP down.

My sister crochets beautifully I'll have to tell her about project Linus.

Pugs & Kisses x 2 to all! :dog2: :dog2:

Alrighty-

Hi everyone,

I'm Ashley and I would really like to join this club. I'm only 19, I just got married on December 9. After my husband graduated college and moved back home, is when I gained all this weight! Right now I weigh about 181 pounds, and before he moved down I weighed about 145. I'm about 5'6". I don't have any kids.

I gained all this weight because we started going out to dinner every night, etc. I got up to a size 12, (from an 8) and then we decided to move to Virginia from South Florida, away from all family and friends. Well needless to say, I gained about 20 pounds this past year because of that.

Well, we have a trip to Disney planned for September and I would really like to get down to 145-150. I know this is a big weight loss for a relatively short time, but it's my goal.

I'm a little discouraged right now...Even though we just started last week working out, (I walk about a mile every night on the treadmill plus go on the bike for about 20 minutes) I haven't lost any weight...I haven't been "dieting" per-se but I cut down on almost all soda, eat a Smart One's for lunch and cook dinner instead of eatting out, plus we eat ALOT earlier now than we used to...

I'm just discouraged because I havent lost anything yet.

Well, thanks for listening and I hope I can join your club!

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!

Boy have I been busy. I'm not sure with what, but I haven't found time to post, that's for sure. I used to live on the these boards and now I can't seem to find myself.

Exercising and eating have been pretty good. Lean Cuisiene(sp) and the WW meals for lunch and dinner have really helped me. Water, water, water, I'm still trying to focus on the water, but when it's so busy I forget. I gotta get a chart..

DD Ellissa started a paper route yesterday. So it was only 19 customers, how hard can that be. Well, all I'm gonna say is when you paper delivery trainer tells you to look at the top wrap of the bundle, please do that. So naturally, we got the papers today at 4:30am, and start her route. When we are all done, we have 1 paper left.. :confused3 So we go back to all the houses and sure enough, everyone has one. So I drive back home thinking they gave us 1 paper to many. Well before I get outta the car, I say "self, check the top wrap, Well, sure enough, there is a new person on it. So as I'm relieved that we didn't manage to screw up paper delivery, I needed to get into the shower becasue I had to work at the gym this am. So anyway, lesson learned, but now I need a HUGE COFFEE!!!

Welcome to the new 150 er's... I look foward to losing with you!!

To my other dis friends, I have to apologize profusly AGAIN for not being here!!! Please forgive me!! If it's any consolation, I have been feeling guilty for NOT being here.

I hope you all have a great holiday, Easter or Passover, enjoy your time however you celebrate.

To those of the Jewish faith - HAPPY PASSOVER!!
To those of the Christian faith - HAPPY EASTER!! May both your holidays be filled with the love of family and friends.

and as always Have a Magical Disney Day!!

I want to say Welcome to the Newbies! This is a great group here!

And renew my commitment to get back on track. I have had a couple of personal emotional events come up over the past couple days that just threw me into a tailspin and I am back off track (basically wiping out any good the first part of the week has done).

I have found, in the past, if I can stay good for 3 weeks then I am in a 'habit' that is easier to maintain. So today, I am recommiting to staying on program. I am not going to have any ice cream treats in this house until I feel I can handle them (I love ice cream).

Today WILL be a good day!

So to everyone, let's have a great weekend. I know with all the candy (if you have kid's Easter baskets) it is not going to be easy, but I am hoping to just convince myself not to have any at all. Not one! If I have one, then I get weak and want more.

I need to lose this weight I gain, or it will all just start over again, and I will start heading up and up. I have lived this story too many times.

Let's have a great weekend everyone!
Debra

Happy Passover :flower1:

Happy Easter :flower1:

I wish you all happiness and joy on this day and like most of you I hope to contain my par taking of all the wonderful goodies that will be available at my sisters house for Easter Dinner & Desert this afternoon.

Wish me luck fellow WISHER's

Have a magical day!!! pixiedust:

Happy Holiday to all who celebrate.

Today was carb-loaded so far. Cake, pancakes, sorbet...some fruit...BBQ beef in a bowl...

I did start dancing though...

Happy Easter! Off to get some happy water in my system!

Welcome Newbies!!! Tolemommy, I used to live in Washington...miss the green trees but not the gray skies....hope you're in Eastern Washington! :) Ashley...welcome and you can get back to that early wedding weight! You're young and have the advantage of being able to get that body chugging along in fine losing mode. Just try and take little changes at a time...I found cutting out one big culprit usually helped...if I said NEVER another french fry then that also kept me from getting quick 'value' meals....it's just not a cheeseburger without the fries! :) So I'd get a salad or chicken nuggets instead....little changes mean big rewards!

I'm officially on the path to getting that 150 medal! My husband recorded my weight and I'm off to losing weighs! I just couldn't bring myself to see the number..I told him to tell me when I hit 174 and then I'll be just 15 pounds away from 150's...I can knock that off in 3 months so I figure I'm looking at about 6 months...but it will be done this year! :)

Sticking to low calorie and no fries! :) Lots to do around here so I should be pretty active...getting up most mornings for a 3 mile walk...starting tennis lessons first week of May and the pool should be warm by mid-May to add that in...oh and my new bike is keeping me pedaling! All that working for me means no weight gains through this summer! :)

Hope you all had a great Easter and let's get some 150'ers moving to the goal by summer! :) I know there's a few hanging in there in the low 170's...carry us forward gang! ;)

As I posted a few days ago, I'm at the end of the rope about hearing the cheerleading about loosing weight with goals stated, never met, by this date, that date and all that. This talking about walking three miles then seeing those same posters describing what they had to eat at the drive-ins enroute. Reminds me of Clinton and his cheese burgers and fries, just lots of talk.

I have heard that talks are underway with the Disney people to sponsor "Porker Day at the Park". A Disney spokesman assured the group that they would double the food availability the day of the event.

In a further effort to reach out to the group, Disney will create a new theme park with specially fabricated reinforced structural materials and "portly people seating". The site for the new rides isn't final, but an anonymous source tells us that the "It's a Small World" ride is due for demolition.

Why not a new and honest thread?????

and having a get together on Porker Day.

Rosie28A -- why so down on everyone? I, personally, have good and bad days...I'm only human.

This thread was started to share success stories and provide encouragement, not come down hard and give out lectures.

Lighten up.

NO FIGHTING: Several Internet news groups are marred by the actions of a few selfish people who turn an otherwise positive forum into a soap box for their anger issues. Internet newsgroups are not moderated, and therefore, anything goes. These boards are moderated in an effort to keep the discussions appropriate to the topic at hand. Those who feel they can not abide by these rules are welcome to read the posts on the board, and respond via email to the person who posted the message. Messages that are argumentative or sarcastic in nature will be deleted without discussion.

Rosie...as a moderator I must post the above message to remind you of rules on this board. But as a person who has struggled with weight I must use this opportunity to encourage you. When I was 260 I couldn't walk 3 miles a day. But, I had no problem eating a meal from a fast food place. I had no problem serving myself larger portions...but one day, I woke up and said, that's it...I can't change without trying. So, I started out walking 10 minutes every morning, I gradually worked up to 20 miles a week. That helped take off those 65 pounds...(I had also lost 100 pounds 15 years earlier and kept if off for 10 years)...so I'm old hat at this weight loss thing....but one thing I never do is discourage anyone from coming on here to cheer and share the struggles we face as we lose this weight.

It may take some of us 6 months to hit the 150's or it may take us 5 years...but we don't give up on each other. We don't discourage even when we feel like a failure on those bad days. My heart goes out to you because I can feel the pain you must be suffering facing your weight issue. But, realize that each day is a new opportunity to turn it around. This is the last day that you can weigh 260....jump into the 250's and then shoot for the 240's...you don't have to live like this way!!!

You can be on your way to this....

And all that cheering helped me tremendously! I'm now in size 12-14's and wearing mediums...not 3XL..

I hope you stick with us and aim for those goals...if not please start your own thread where others who may feel the same way as you do can support each other...but as for this crew...there's going to be cheering...

I agree with Tara. I struggled with my weight in college and lost a great deal before I was married. I went 7 years with no problem and then I got pregnant. After the fisrt pregnancy the weight did not all come off but I was still in the 150's. After the 2nd pregnancy the weight did not come off and just life got in the way and it kept going up. Last Feb I just got fed up and was offered an opportunity to do something and I did. For the last 14 months I have been working at losing weight. I have not been a speed demon about it. I have only lost 30 pounds but it is 30 less than I was last year. SOme months I have lost and one month Igained and the rest have been stable. It is not an easy thing but I have accomplished a lot along the way. Last May I rode 25 miles in the MS Bike tour. Both my children and my husband thought that I couldn't do but I proved them wrong. I am working on getting ready to walk a marathon next year. I think that they will believe me this time.

The one thing that has keppt me going has been this board. I did not go to WW because I have seen my sisters and mother do this lose weight and then gain it back. I came up with my own plan and my exercise schedule but this group has been the support that I have needed to be successful this time. I have tried other times but they never worked out because I have not had the support that this group of people have given me in the last year. They have been there when I was hospitalized in Jan and when I had my sinus infection in March. Dieting for me is a very personal thing but I still need the support.

PLease do not turn this board into one that would not want to visit everyday like I do. If this is not your cup of tea please visit other boards until you find one that works for you.

Tara! Love your pictures! Wow, you have come a long Way

Maria: I didn't do so good with the Easter Candy, but now it is all gone. Just think! There are not more "candy" holidays until October! YEAH!

Jen: How is school going? How many more weeks until you are done? One of my DD is out in 5 weeks and one in 6 weeks. I can't believe this school year is almost over!

Linda: Isn't this weather beautiful! It just lifts the spirits so much! DH and I started going on evening walks again. Hopefully this motivates me to start walking on my own again.

To Everyone: Enjoy the spring weather. This is a beautiful time of the year and you feel renewed! Fruits and Veggies are SO much better in the warmer weather!!!!

Dona,
I am SO proud of you! And SOOOO impressed! My DH and kids wouldn't believe me if I told them I would do this (and they would be right). The ONLY thing that has peaked my interest is the marathon at Disney, but that won't happen while the kids are in school (and if I did it, I would be walking briskly, not running).

My DH loves biking. I wish I could get into it so I could join him, but I just can't seem to get interested in it.

So good for you!
Debra

Hey gang!! I had a piece of whole wheat toast this morning with a pat of butter (not even a sliver really) and about 1/2 a juice glass of grape juice. For snack I plan on having a small serving of dry roasted peanuts and lunch will be spinach salad with strawberries. I finally made a grocery run last night and it looks GREAT!!! Lots of good choices to make.

I'm officially back on my weighing in every Monday....I'll post a weekly progress post if folks want to join in and have me record the progress....I find it really helps me stick to it when I see the numbers going down...anyone interested?

Dona...wow!! you are going to do that marathon I KNOW it!!! Any interest in any of us going to Disney for the marathon next January? I haven't even considered it but now it's looking like a good option to getting to my goal! :) I'll have to see who else from WISH has already signed up...and talk to my dear husband about it...it may be the perfect surprise trip for the kids...we told them no more Disney until they were grown and brought their grandkids...but if it's to celebrate Mommy getting healthy..I guess we could swing a weekend! :)

Debra! How's the eating going? Now that you're right around your goal weight do you find it easier to up your calorie intake to 2000 or do you still need to have 1200 days? I'm really thinking hard on your efforts last year to make me stick to it this year...I feel much better when I have fresh fruits and veggies to see me through...so glad summer is coming! :)

Off to water my flowers and pick up the house before we start school! :)
Tara

Hey Everybody,

I'm sorry I haven't been around lately. I'm on school vacation. I love the kiddo's I work with but boy did I need a vacation. My days are now filled with cleaning, yard work and other chores that need to be done.

Why doesn't vacation ever seem like a vacation ha ha. Oh well I'm enjoying the time off none the less.

I hope everyone is doing well :)

Everyday that I don't post I feel guilty, but sometimes there isn't enough time in the day for everything so please forgive my absence.

I hope everyone has a great night :cool1:

Hi Guys!

Maria

hi there!

I guess I'm finally feeling brave enough to join you guys in the 150 thread, 150 (in brit measures) is about 10 stone, the last time I weighed that I was about 13...

but I'm on the way down, using mini goals to try and stay motivated, my current goal is 250, then my next I think will be 199, then the big push to 150 (or I may split it into two more mini goals, achieving feels so good and really helps with a positive attitude)

I'm doing a modified version of atkins, just very low carb and low calorie, I take metformin and also xenical.

so, hi :grouphug:
