Debra-Yes, I am, actually...it had a red cake layer on the bottom that we weren't very fond of! It also had a funny kind of taste in both types of cheesecake, but I remain optomistic!

And yes we saw the gingerbread house!!!!

I'm the one in the orange and black tie-dye...turned around because I didn't know my dad was taking pics!

And also, my parents want to go on a Disney CRUISE next time!!! I told you I converted them!

WELCOME BACK JEN!!! Beautiful pictures...and look at you all bundled up..was it cold at Disney? I'm so used to seeing pictures of shorts and tanks there! :) I bet it was beautiful..hopefully you found some better desserts elsewhere! :)

Debra..oh man..will she ever notice!!!! I can't wait to hear how it goes...I loved seeing folks who hadn't seen my first weight loss. They didn't know who I was! :)

Have a great losing day guys! I had too many gingerbread men...but otherwise..an okay day..not enough WATER!!!!

Jen! That is SO cool! The DCL has gotten more and more expensive over the years (we have cruised once a year starting in 2000). I don't think we will be able to keep doing that, but we do have a cruise booked for this March and one booked for March 2007. After that we are thinking of doing split trips between WDW and Vero Beach instead. We will see. We love the cruise so much, but the price of going during school breaks is crazy (we had been cruising in September when we were homeschooling the girls and the prices in September are a LOT less than the rest of the year).

Drop in over at the DCL DISboard if you want to learn more about it. There are some great trips over there!

Well, cleaning day today. Ugh! I hate to clean.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Debra

just checking in to say I haven't fallen off the face of the earth!
The mason will be here in 2 hrs--my kitchen is in the formal dining rm for the next 6 months :scared1: (yeah, it'll be finished in 6 months! :rolleyes: ), I have to go out & get another prime rib, as a new kid at the market sold our reserved one! :p DS16 is taking his driver's test today :faint:
Have not been going crazy with the food, but am not on course. For the 1st 2 days after WDW I was making silly choices, then I grabbed a hold of myself & just said 'no'. Am keeping up on the water--
TTFN, don't want the mason to find me in my sweats!
Merry Christmas to All, Happy Holidays & Best Wishes! :grouphug:

Morning All!!

A couple of more days until the chaos is done and the clean up can begin!! :goodvibes Ok I know that is a BAH HUMBUG attitude.......that is what it is this year :rolleyes:

Right after Christmas I have college students moving in and out - will be setting up a "hotel"........always a good time but too hectic.

Have decided that I am burnt out and need downtime........unfortunately that is not happening any time soon........ahhhhhh what a whole night's sleep could do for me:):)

Between waiting up for DD17 to come home, the cat singing to me in the middle of the night and the dog needing to say good morning by 6:15am I don't get alot of sleep.......... :rotfl: :rotfl: The only ones that don't bother me are the turtles........I am sure they would if they could figure it out :rotfl:

This is also the mood I get when I don't exercise.........the TM will hopefully be unearthed from behind the tree soon and then I just have to find time when the college students are not around.

Jean - Good Luck to your DS on the driver's test. Enjoy the holiday and let's get back on track for the NEW YEAR!! :cheer2:

Jen- Welcome BACK!! Missed your cheering!! Glad to read that you had a good time!! Let's see some more pictures...........How was the weather?

Debra - Today is cleaning and grocery shopping for me.........can't wait to hear what your sister said when she sees you!! We are all SO PROUD of you!!

Schatz - How is your DD feeling? So hard when they are sick.

Anyone know when Kathy was coming home?

Ok - time to change my mood and attitude!!! Well sleep will do that!! Hoping for a nap this afternoon.

Hang in there - Have fun with the moment..........

And as always have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Hi guys!!! The weather was nippy, rainy and overcast. I mean, reminded me a LOT of Ohio. It didn't ruin the day though-because days at Disney World are inruinable! 60s-ish all week. But we had to peel off about 3 layers each once we hit Florida though!

I did get to go swimming once! Outside!!! My weight loss friend here in NB gave me a sweet bathing suit (all black, with purple sparkle straps). I felt so much better in December in WDW than I did at ALIVE. Wow. It was wonderful!!!

Second day was our EPCOT day! We did Future World first...hitting Test Track and Mission Space before 11:00! (got there around 10:30) After that we beat butt to Soarin'...waited in a line...the only one that day though, so not all was lost. Snack break (Mickey bars and Cokes). After that, we spent the rest of the day in WS. I LOVE LOVE :love: WS!!! I even made a mask :teeth: . We ate lunch in Morocco at Tangierine. My mom says it was her favorite lunch the whole trip. Met characters, looked for Kidcot stops, shopped, rode a couple of rides (namely Maelstrom...which was tame*) and went to dinner at the Rose and Crown.

Our server there was EXCELLENT. His name was Francis, but his nametag said Ty. Small identity crisis. That's okay. Food was excellent. He gave us VIP seating for IllumiNations. I love IllumiNations!! What a guy!! Big tip for him!!!

Then we went back to POP. I had FINALLY convinced them to get the refillable mugs that night.

We were on the DDP.

B then:
2 orders pancake meal. One gave it a 7, one gave it a 4.
1 Adult Breakfast. He gave it a 5.
1 Veggie Eggie thing. She gave it an 8 "but watch out it has LOTS of veggies in it"

L then:
2 Chicken Shawarma platters (8 and 9 respectively...)
1 Lamb Sandwich (6 because my dad thought it was chicken)

and our picky eater got the Meatball Platter!!! We were so proud of him!! 7.

D then:
2 bowls Potato Leek soup (8 and 5 respectively)
1 salad with mustard vineagrette ("good, but not great" no # rating for that one)
1 Fruit and Cheese plate ("mmmfph" <--caught her with her mouth full!)
1 cottage pie (9...excellent considering I hate cooked carrots)
2 Steak meals (10 and 8.9 respectively)
1 Guiness beef stew (-5 because "it tasted funny and I couldn't get a hamburger. Picky)
1 Dessert Sampler. The favorite was the apple crumble all around, while I couldn't get enough toffee pudding!

***I rate my rides and my meals. Please bear in mind that I live in proximity to Cedar Point (America's Rockin' RollerCoast) and I am a HUGE adrenaline junkie. My dad is a very good cook too!***
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Goals for today:
Xmas shop
Cut up fruit (another cheerleading game today and party)
Homework
Water
Good control
Food intake is okay
Saying NO when I don't want a piece of something
B today: 2 mugs tomato soup and PB sammich (7)
water: 24 ounces
More pics to come...they are loading to my Photobucket as we speak.
I have to get ready for shopping!
Don't I look ravishing in the Orlando airport?! More like harried from all that travel. TOL-ORD-MCO!!! Toledo-Chicago O Hare-Orlando! :D
Oh Jen, I LOVE your pictures! What fun! Was this your first trip with your family to WDW?
I do like December because I like the cooler weather. But then, the girls like when it is hotter so they can enjoy swimming. Glad you got to go swimming even though it was cool. Pop has some really cute pools!
I don't know why I never realized you are from Ohio! I am a native Buckeye! I grew up near Marietta, Ohio. When to undergraduate school at Ohio University in Athens, and then got my MBA at Kent State! Now I am a 'Hoosier' (what in the world if that! :confused3 ). I miss living in Ohio. I guess because it will always be 'home' to me. We will be going over to Ohio next week to see DH's parents.
I hope we get to see more pictures. So you have any of Pop? I love pictures of the resort (I know I am weird, but I go to WDW for the resorts and restaurants as much as I do the parks).
Hi All.
Welcome back TigerCheer. I'm glad you had a great time. Just think of all the calories you saved by not likeing that cheesecake.
Well my youngest two DD's are still with runny noses, and you all with kids who don't know how to blow their noses can feel my pain. Mickaellya who s 1 needs to get the stuff sucked out. And you know how that goes. Caitlynne, who continues to blow out of her mouth is a hopeless cause right now.
The challange will be getting everyone in bed and asleep. My DD Taylor who is 8 is the challange, she is so excited and has issues with falling asleep as it is. I still have wrapping to do and we need to put together the Foose Ball(sp) table they are getting. With 6 kids we have big items that everyone can play.
So anyway, I'm sorry I didn't cover everyone, but my train of thought keeps getting interupted.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
Doggone it!!
For those of you who got to see the pics-hope you liked. For the rest of you-sorry!
Thanks Schatz!! Hope your kiddos feel better!!
Debra-we do have more pictures. MANY more. My Photobucket's been acting up (I've been adding lots of Harry Potter pictures-I'm a Harry Potter nut!) We have pics of about every event we did except potty stops. Hi fellow Buck-oosier! (made that one up ;) )
To all my lovely WISH friends-
My life has been made better because you are in it. Thanks for being there when I needed you mostest. You are amazin'-every single one of you-and and incredible and an inspiration.
L) Chicken breast, tomato on a honey wheat roll, tortilla chips and salsa
Nothin much else, tho...
Merry Christmas Everyone!
My sister left a couple hours ago and I have been cleaning up wrapping paper and boxes. We are going to a movie in about 1/2 hour, but I wanted to jump on and wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
Tomorrow morning we are going to Ohio to visit family, so I won't be around for awhile. Eating has gone....well let's just say, I'm not at my 'goal' weight anymore, but I am letting go this week and next week I will be ready to kick back in and get myself back to my goal weight again (which, I guess, is the trick to staying at goal---not letting it go if you gain, just getting right back on track and getting rid of the extra weight before your body gets use to it and starts adding even more weight on top of it---I have a lot to get use to when it coming to maintaining a good weight, but that is what 2006 is going to be about for me).
I got new dishes (Corelle) and DH got a new DVD recorder. He has been busy transferring our VHS home movie/tapes to DVD. There are a LOT to go, so we have been watching old home movies all day.
Did everyone watch the WDW Christmas Parade today? I loved it! Tonight, on the History channel there is a new 2 hours Disney show that is part of Modern Marvels. I believe it is on at 8:00, so we will be watching that. Have to have Disney in our Christmas!
Talk to everyone later. Don't give up girls! Next week we will all kick it in to high gear!!!!! Get ready!!!!
Debra
Morning :flower:
Tis the day after and I survived........the body took a terrible beating and has swollen to massive proportions!! :rotfl:
Starting the January 1 committment today!! If the scale goes any higher it will break :rotfl2:
The biggest challenge will be all the leftovers in the fridge that are still calling to me..........the cheddar chili cheesecake broke out in song when I opened the fridge but I was STRONG and grabbed an orange instead :banana:
Seriously our family had a nice weekend and hope you did as well for those who celebrate Christmas.
The house is being DE-Christmas as of today WOO HOO!! Been looking at the trees since Thanksgiving.....time for them to go.
DD21 is having a friend from Germany stay at our house starting tonight until January 3rd........with various college friends floating in and out.......
Looking for boredom in my life :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Debra - You didn't mention what your sister thought of your new body? Drive safely to Ohio Will miss you!!
Jen- Can't wait to see more pictures!! What was your favorite?
Schatz - How are you kids feeling? Did the festivities go well?
Maria and Tara - Time to check in.......how did the food fest go?
Kathy - Are you back from Florida? Miss hearing from you.
To all the rest of other band of merry losers - Let's Hear From You!! :grouphug:
Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda
Hi All! :wave2:
Yikes! haven't been on the scale to check out the damage!
Jen--didn't get to see yr pix! hoping yr Christmas was super! Your trip sounds outstanding. R&C & Marrakesh/Tangierine are restaurants we make a point of going to, enjoy them so much. In what order were your favorite Worlds?
Debra-yes, what did yr DSis think of the new shape?
Yes, drive safely to Ohio.
loved the Christmas Parade, we have satellite feeds from NY & LA (no local channels here, yet :rolleyes: ) so, unlike other NH folks & Boston affiliates, we did get to see the parade--we were actually there when part of it was filmed--YAY!
Linda--my leftovers are singing(shouting?!) that same song :teeth:
Like Debra, it is after the New Year for me to get on the stick. I'll be prudent--no big dessert tear, water & lots of veggies, first --
Unlike you, I try to hug that tree as long as I can! :goodvibes It will come down on 7 January. I admire your cleaning spirit!
Tracy--how did everyone get to sleep? what time did you all wake up on Christmas morn? how are all the colds? You must be exhausted! :hug:
DS17 is out the door, he works part time at a small ski resort. Nice too, because he can ski, snowboard, & tube for free. Our good friend is the execuetive chef for the resort & his son is DS' best friend. Many of the high school kids work there so it's social for DS, too. He learned to ski there when he was 3 yo. Very nice family spot, low key & where the schools go for ski lessons
Hoping everyone enjoyed the most wonderful of Holidays!
Jean
Hi All,
Quickly jumping online as I wait for my turn in the shower this morning. I had a great visit with my sister (hadn't seen her since May) and yes, she was VERY surprised. I get the strangest questions sometimes. She actually asked me if I had 'an operation'? And my kids were sitting there and we all said 'NO!' at the same time. I told her I just stuck with dieting for the whole 12 months of this year and never gave up. She said if she had passed me on the street she wouldn't have recognized me! When she was ready to leave she told me I looked great and she was sorry she didn't tell me more, she was just surprised at how different I looked and had to get use to it. Then when she got home she emailed me to tell me again how great I looked.
I am just surprised that people's first reaction tends to be that 1) are you sick? or 2) did you have an operation? I don't know, that just seems like weird things to thing of first off. When people ask me how I did it, I just say, I started eating less and stuck with it all year, they seem to have trouble accepting that at first--as if that just wouldn't work! :confused3 I don't know, it just seems funny to me. But after the initial shock, she was very nice about it and happy for me.
I got a strange call on Friday from a friend who told me that she is at her all time high and just can't take it any more, and that I am inspiration and would I mind if she called me once a week to talk and get motivated! I laughed and told her that I feel I am only 'half way there' since I still have to learn this whole new world of 'maintaining' my weight (as I said before, I have lost and gained weight all my life, this time I want to learn to just stay put). So I told her we could encourage each other.
Well, DH is done in the shower, so it is my turn! Talk with you guys later! Have a great week! I have a lot of leftovers too, but I put most of them in the freezer and told everyone we would take them out Saturday for New Year's Eve and that I wanted to spend this time this week trying to lose the bit of weight I put on over this weekend. So I have 5 days to get serious, and then we are pigging out on Saturday night! (Then back on track again Monday after New Years!).
Talk with you guys when I get back from Ohio!
Hang in there everyone! The holidays are almost over!
Debra
We had a great relaxing time. We arrived back in Buffalo on Sat at around 6:30 pm but didn't get back to Mom's until almost 8. We spent yesterday with Mom and drove home today.
WDW Day 1 - left Buffalo at noon. Arrived in Atlanta and our flight out was delayed 45 min. Got to WDW at 6. Checked into our suite at OKW and headed to Olivia's for supper. We seem to eat at least 2 meals there each trip. Finished supper and went back to our suite and our luggage had not arrived yet so Lynne and I started to walk back over to hospitality house to see if they had any idea when we could expect it. We met the bell man just coming up the stairs. We did not go to any park that day.
WDW Day 2 - Left suite at 7 AM to go for my 10 mile walk. Had a goal of finishing in 2.5 hours. It actually took me 2 hrs 36 min. I guess the extra 6 min wasn't bad. My nephew and his family came over for spaghetti dinner. (We took the sauce down with us.) He and his sister were never allowed to get to know our side of the family so he is trying to make up for lost time. He has 2 boys, 4 and 17 months. They stayed and visited until around 4:30 so we could leave and go the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. We went to the shows we missed last year, attempted to see the fireworks and stayed for the late parade. The fireworks on Sun evening were a bust because of the low cloud cover and the wind direction. You could only see the low fireworks. We heard that they did a special show the Party's.
Will post later this week with more details of the visit.
I hope everyone have a good Christmas. Try not to gain too much weight but Jan 1 is the time for recommitment.
Morning All!!
The house is Christmas Less :goodvibes and our German guest has arrived. :goodvibes :goodvibes
Yesterday went well with the commitment...... :banana:
The scale showed a drop of 2.5 lbs this morning. Focusing on fruits and veggies.........woo hoo.
Today off to shopping..........and the scales.
Kathy sounds like you had a good time.........post some pictures if you can.
Jean - glad you checked in....don't let the scale scare you.......we can do this!! :grouphug: :cheer2:
Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Hi Everyone,
So, here I sit at the gym, not EVEN motivated to work out. AARRGGHH. I have to get back in the mood.
So Christmas eve, we went to 5pm mass, our priest gave the kids be in bed by 7:30 speech(he is a religious man, but he also gets down to what is important for the kids). Anyway, DH had to put the foos ball table together and I had to wrap a few more things. We got done about midnight. I started to put things in the stockings, when I hear my 11 YO dd get up and start walking down the stairs. I told her to go back to bed, than my 8 yo dd get up to tell us to go to bed, OK I'm trying but you two are awake and I can't do my job!!! Anyway, we decided to set the alarm for 3am, no one should be up than, right? WRONG!!! I started putting things in the stockings again, and who should I hear, 11 yo DD, can't sleep. Than 8 yo DD gets up and asks if I remembered to put the milk out for Santa. DH and I go back to bed, set the alarm for 4:30. Oh please GOD I pray, do not let anyone be awake. 4:30 comes, we start bringing presents up from downstairs and I drop something, loud bang occurs, I sit and listen, I don't hear anything. YAY! We get back into bed at 5:00, I pray again, for more sleep this time. Ellissa, 11yo dd, get up at 6:30, but doesn't wake anyone, she was given orders the previous night not to wake anyone. Slowly, we all wake up, only to discover that 5yo DS Jonathan, got sick during the night, and didn't get up. This kid, had it coming out of both ends and never got up. Go figure. So after getting him showered and bed linens started in the washer, we finally sat down to open presents. We have to draw names in my house. We have a very small cape cod style house and with 6 children, all opening presents in the living room, it would get pretty ugly. So anyway, my 3 yo dd Caitlynne, was finished opening her presents, and she stated that she didn't get enough princess stuff. My DH was taken aback, as he would never had said such things to his parents, I just looked at as this is my child who HE the DH has spoiled rotten, and she probably thought she had every right to say whatever she wanted to say. Now I will say, she did get a Belle and Aurora costume(I picked them up when they were greatly reduced) as well as a crown and septer for the Aurora costume(I hope to be able to take her to the My perfect princess tea when we are there in May). Anyway. Christmas night, as we were getting Ellissa and Taylor in bed at 8:45, they asked "why are you two going to be ALREADY?" I'm so happy they all still believe, but I'm heading toward 41 and just don't have the pull an allnighter bug in me anymore, so I think next year I may have to resort to knocking them out with something.
I hope everyone also had a great holiday, or is in the process of having a great holiday.
Someone, please tell me how to get the motivation back!!!!
Good Tuesday Evening!
I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday and is well on the way to thinking about normal life again.
I've been trying to catch up on the posts. It seems we've had illness, relatives, sleepless nights, and wild times at the World. I'm so glad you've all shared your lives with me, it's good to realize I'm not the only one with insanity going on from time to time!
My new cherished presents, chiefly two running books, are going to be dog-eared, I am determined. I've been reading the Courage to Run, and I'm getting excited about getting in motion on a regular basis. I've also overdosed on all the holiday foods, and I really just want something simple for a week or two.
Even if recommitting right now seems too much, let's think of ways we can be successful next year. What are some simple choices we can make every day that will help? Last year I switched from honey in my tea to Splenda. I know it's not much, but that is one little thing I have kept up. Sometimes when I focus on the big picture, I get overwhelmed. Like Debra, I think I'm going to try to move more, eat less, and worry about only 5 pounds a month. That seems very doable, if I would just do it!
I know we can do this! Let's get moving and grooving into a fabulous new year!
Maria
