Hi all
Have not recieved anything as yet. is this right or should I give them a ring.Cant ring and reserve the viewing for illuminations without the voucher can I. I did have a card on friday from the postman saying under paid postage by 10p but handling charge £1.Ridiculous hope this isnt the disney tickets. Refuse to pay for anything where postage is not correct. Wouldnt have thought disney would do this surely:confused3

You can ring and reserve without the voucher - i've done it.

Hope tickets come soon.

Doubt Disney would send something with wrong postage but its always possible.
I received a package last month, the sender took it into the post office, had it weighed and paid what the PO asked for, I still had to pay a few pence and the £1 fee (sender refunded me)
Can you not goto the post office and ask to see the letter and see if its a Disney envelope? if its junk refuse to pay.

My package from Disney came 3 weeks ago which was early. There are no tickets, just vouchers which I'm sure are attached to your booking so Im sure the resort could sort you out if worse came to the worst. I would definitely call them and see what they say. Hope they all come soon though :-)

You can just give your name and ID when you check in. It is all on the system. Still, I would want my envelope. ;)

Give Disney a ring and ask if and when they were sent.

Check with the Post Office sorting depot. You will need to phone them or go in person. I am not sure if they will disclose the origin of the packet over the phone. If it is the Disney tickets, get a receipt and claim it back from Disney. I know it is annoying but hassle and extra phone calls may not be worth £1.10 unless you are going to claim for calls as well.

Thanks guys will go to the PO tomorrow and have a look.If it is disney envelope will prob just pay the £1.10. If it isnt will phone them when back from university. Something else:scared1:

Well if it makes you feel better, you may recall my recount of my ordeal with Thomas Cook last year. A week out and I was still chasing. I left on Good Friday and had to fly to Manchester the day before early in the morning. The day before I departed I finally got a phone call just before 5 pm saying the tickets were there. I think I walked over the top of my desk and ran out of the main entrance to our offices shouting "Don't lock me out if you go. My keys are in there .....!!!" :scared1: And I had some actual tickets in there so it wasn't all vouchers

No needs for anything, just your name and if you want reassurance; booking# and confirmation when you go to WDW. WDTC USA has always been hit or miss with getting things shipped at the right moment and right address. Folks check in without anything all the time.

As stated previously; you can call in at any moment for the pref. firework viewings if you want them. Might take the CM some asking around, but they'll know where to put you through to. My mom had a "may want to do the Illuminations", so booked her a date at the 180 days mark. No way I had the vouchers at that moment. :rotfl2: I'm 9 days out right now and nothing yet. Honestly aren't expecting it either, it would keep me on track with a 50% score of getting something or not.

I know I can jsut print off confirmation page but wanted the xtra bits.Voucher for planet hollywood, round of golf etc.Would I still get that if no envelope comes. Im just panicin. Will go to PO and take it from there.:thumbsup2

No need to worry. I had to call WDTC UK any way to have some things updated so asked about if for you, seeing we're a bit ahead of you.

My docs were sent out on the 31st. Nothing seen yet, and knowing the mail they'll have gone "poof!". Normally things are here well by now. WDTC UK says "give it until 2 days before you leave, it might still arrive". Don't have too much faith in the latter ;) but we'll see. If it DOESN'T come and I make the call at 48 hours out, they'll arrange those extra's to be waiting for us at the resort. So basically one way or another you will get those extra's if you want to use them. You just might have to call in a day or at most 2 before you leave if you didn't get them through to mail to get them through the resort.

We're checking in to SSR on 23 September (16 days time) and we haven't received anything from Disney either. To be honest, I didn't really expect anything until next week, I thought I read somewhere that vouchers, etc would be sent two weeks before check in.

Just a little heads up about Disney (I think VH does this as well). They have certain days of the week when they send mail out. Or was it one day? Like a Tuesday for example! How do I know this? I always had to phone and chase up my receipts for payments over the phone and they were quite candid in telling me this. Not really a problem except that if your tickets are due to be dispatched on a Wednesday and their mailing day is the Tuesday (just random days by way of example) then instead of having your docs posted the next day, you would wait another 6 days for them to be sent out. They also use standard second class mail unless requested otherwise. I think I may phone them and let them know I am not leaving straight from home and will need mine a week early. I don’t need to tell them that I will only be gone 1 day early staying at the airport hotel ….. Sneaky? Maybe. Smart? Absolutely! ;)

2Tiggies, that once a week thing might also be a positive thing, depending on how they take it. I got my email about docs being shipped on the 2nd. Both CM's individually told me docs should be sent out on the 2nd, and after checking further found out they were actually sent out on the 31st already. Could be a fluke, or WDTC UK is sending out a week "upfront" rather than a week "behind".

Cheap mail; no experience there to compare as mine are sent to outside the UK. Having said that, they do pay for a more expensive international mail (not the most expensive, but neither does WDW US) and most of those letters get to me in a day or 3 max. 5 after being sent out. (post stamp, date, standard drill of getting a new invoice after having made a payment and knowing when you made the payment etc.) Don't start telling me I'm getting my mail quicker than those of you actually in the UK? That would be something. :rotfl2::lmao:

I wasn’t going to suggest we were getting our mail quicker. We have 2 types of standard mail: 1st class (next day) and 2nd class (takes 2 working days). When I referred to these as less expensive methods of postage I meant, and should have said, that they were not tracked in any way. The only way to ensure that you have some idea of where they are is to pay for a signed for delivery, which costs more.

Disney and VH have been sending docs out much earlier over the past few months though. They generally used to only send them 2 weeks or a little less and people usually had them within 7 - 10 days prior to departure. However I noticed a little while back that people were reporting receiving their documents much earlier. :confused3

Oh, hope you didn't take it personal or anything? It was just me showing I know squat about UK mail systems in my own usual clumsy way. ;)

Totally understand them not shipping with tracking and signature. The latter is asking for trouble with all of those that work a lot (need to be home, neighbour isn't always allowed to sign, than need to pick it up at postal office) and the expenses times customers sure does add up. Always surprised me WDTC USA did/does??. And even with them I'ld regularly not receive my "check in" docs. :lmao:

Perhaps those earlier are VH customers? I opened an alike topic a while back, curious to know how the experiences were with receiving the docs at which stage, as I know in the US they go nuts with sending them out so long before (and than you have to wait another 5 to 7 weeks? Who can do that?). From that I remember taking not expecting anything prior to 14 days but rather around 7 days.

Whatever it turns out to be; who cares in the end really? ;) We're sometimes a bit of a nutcase on these boards with all the planning, counting down and detailchecking, but if I get them or not it'll be OK. I'll call in if I have to because mom wants to do a pref. fireworkviewing but wouldn't bother otherwise to begin with.

i expect some one else has said but done worry we didnt get ours till 13 days out and are you counting 15 days till you leave or till 15 days till you check in to disney

Just phoned disnay and glad I did As we are not officialy on site till the 27th so were not sending them out till the 19th so would not have recieved them in time:scared1: The kind CM emailed the UK site whislt I was on the phone and told them my departure date was infact the 22nd september. She also confirmed if they didnt come just to take a copy of the reservation and show my passport and it wold be fine. I also booked the preferred fireworks for wishes(although wasnt bothered about that one as prefer CP area to view them) and illuminations. Again they confirmed no issue with the vouchers as could be issued there as I have confirmation numbers.Fingers crossed

Glad you got it sorted. I forgot about you being offsite first! A good thing for everyone doing likewise to keep in mind!

When we checked in at SSR, they didn't even ask to see our accomodation vouchers so now you've booked your fireworks, even if they don't come you'll be fine :)

:goodvibes
