I met mine online!

Although we only lived about an hour and a half from one another in NC/SC we both traveled for our jobs. He was working in Ft Worth and after 2 months of really long conversations I flew down to meet him. Everything went very well and we have been together almost five years.
He was completely opposite of what I thought I was looking for!

I met my fiance's father while working at Kilimanjaro Safaris during my spring 05 college program. I didn't actually meet my fiance until a year later. I had stayed in Florida and went full time at Safaris. A group of safari drivers went to TGIFriday's one night and my fiance's father came along with my fiance and his sister. After he didn't ask for my number (he is the shyest guy you will ever meet) my friends jumped into action. They gave my FFIL my phone number who in turn gave it to DF. He called and our first date was a 13 hour playdate in 3 of the 4 Disney parks. As soon as we started comparing which Hidden Mickeys we knew about I knew he was the one for me. :rotfl:

We met through Disney, got engaged at Disney, live behind Disney, he works at Disney so it's only fitting that we get married at Disney. :)

I actually stole him from my brothers!
He is my brothers best friend, but since he is 6 yrs younger than I am
I had to wait a couple of years just so it wouldn't be too......illegal?:rotfl:
We started talking more & more, he was already a member of our family so
nobody thought anything about it. We had been dating for about 6mths before we told anyone. Thank goodness my brothers didn't have any problems with it , they just thought "ewww that's my sister"!
Almost 7 yrs later they are both standing up for him at our wedding.

I love these kinds of stories too!

Me and my DBF are both really into cars, and I had seen a lot of local cars with a car website sticker on, and I decided to give it a look. I got a PM from the owner of the website who asked if I had been at a Car Meet a week ago and was I wearing X? When I replied 'yes', he told me he'd thought I was beautiful and that he's said hello, but I'd ignored him! I really can't remember!

We spent the whole day chatting over Messenger and sending pictures of each other - we only lived 20min apart and had a LOT of the same friends, just we had never met. We decided to meet up that night along with some of our other friends and just hit it off straight away. We have exactly the same sense of humour :) 3 years later, we're still together.

When I was still at school I started working as a waitress to earn a little extra cash, the assistant manager had taken me on as the manager was away on his holidays to Disney. two weeks later the manager returned and one night will we were all sitting around having a few drinks after we finished work the manager announced that he would have never taken me on. cause I lived too far away.

A few nights later (I was getting really friendly with all of the staff by then) the manager announced that he fancied someone at the restaurant - we were all discussion who we fancied he did not just come out with it - everyone thought that it was this tall, thin, blond girl that worked there, I for some reason thought it was me (dont get me wrong, I never normally think people fancy me, I am not that confident). Anyway I said to one of the girls whilst I was in the toilet that I thought it might be me and she instantly stormed out and asked him, how embarresing:eek: and he admitted it was. We went out popcorn:: a few times without telling anyone until we decided we really did like each other:hug: and then we told everyone not everyone was happy as he was ten years older than me, but now everyone couldnt be happier :goodvibes cause here we are almost eight years later happily planning our DFTW.

And one of the first things we did when we got engaged last year at disney was phone that assistant manager for taking me on otherwise we never would have met.

We met online. :) No big story attached, other than the fact that I had just about given up finding my Prince, and was about to cancel my account that very day and he sent me a message saying "are you my princess?" princess: I was, he was, blah blah blah, so here we are getting married. :goodvibes

We met here on the disboards. He lived 1400 miles from me, here in Canada. We carried on a long distance relationship for several months with numerous trips back and forth between his province and mine, and one to Disney. Logged 1000's of hours on the phone and computers. Finally last October he packed up and left his job, house and family to move here to be with me. (I have an almost 11 yr old ds who spends lots of time with his dad so moving wasn't an option for me). In December, he proposed at the Wishing well beside the castle and we are getting married August 21, 2007 at WDW of course! Our love of Disney brought us together so where else could we possibly get married!

I am crazy, stupid in love!! He is a great man, who not only accepted my son but has become a very active part of his life. I was married before to ds's father for 10 years and feel lucky to have found the kind of love and happiness that I only read about before!

oh my goodness, I love this story!!!! that's so sweet!!

My DF and I met online... we knew each other for about six years online as just friends before we actually met in person.... looking back now I wish we didn't wait so long! I guess I was young and wanted to get out and experience dating jerky guys and all that dumb stuff young kids do, but when I was 27 he and I started talking a lot on the phone and by the time I was 28 (just a few months later) we met a few times over the summer and then the next thing I knew I was moving to New York State from Texas to live with him as a trial thing just to see how it went. I had never lived with a guy before but it was suprisingly very natural to live with him and well...here we are.. four months away from our disney wedding! :cloud9:

My DF and I are both CM, so we met here. Actually it's a cute story. We both work at Resorts and in order to work the front desk you have to take a week long class. He was sitting right in front of me and we began to talk about our experiences as CPs (him in 2002, me in 2001). Now, while that seems like your normal meeting, whats sweet about the whole thing is that the class is called "First Impressions."

I usually get, "He made a good impression on you then!" or "What a great 'first impression' you must have had on him."

Update: My DH now teaches this class, frequently in the room where we met. He always likes to tell the class, "This is where I met my wife." He does this when talking about how magic can happen anywhere!

We met while I was in college, and barely pregnant with my son. We both worked for Kroger (Grocery Company), he was my Manager, and was mad at his boss for hiring a pregnant girl that would be out on Maternity leave during the entire holiday season. How insensitive of him! :santa: He was married (and miserable), but we were just good friends. We became better friends after I had my son, but still just friends. Our store closed, and we got moved to different locations, then lost touch. His sister (who also worked with us) and I still kept in touch, and she got married a year and a half later. I was her maid of honor, and he was (obviously) at the wedding...divorced! YEAH! We went out on a date a week later, picking up right where we left off, and the rest is history. We went to WDW five months later, and then again a year later when we got engaged 11.4.06. Since essentially he's known my son his whole life, he's doing great in his other new role of "Dad". He will be adopting my son after we get married 3.18.08 at Sea Breeze Point, and my son will be his best man (how cute is that!)

I feel so lucky to have him in my life, because when I first met him, I had given up on men, and thought that I would never find anyone to love me and my son...Thankfully I was wrong!

We were friends in high school, but nothing else at that time. He wanted to date, but I didn't. That's not how I thought of him. He was a year behind me, so I went away to college and then came back. 10 years later we bumped into each other at Best Buy in the DVD aisle. I wasn't planning on going shopping there at that time, but I'm so glad that I did! we've been together for 3 1/2 years and getting married in 8 days!!!! yay!!!

We met the first week of college. He was on the men's crew team and I was on the women's crew team. We spent literally every day together our freshmen year b/c we were part of a really close knit team. We were just friends for an entire year. I found out at the end of our freshman year that he had a crush on me, but decided not to pursue anything b/c it was almost summer and we'd be going home to different parts of the country. When we came back for sophomore year, I had a crush on him too and told him. We began dating, and he proposed over 4 years later on our 50 month anniversary :cloud9:

awww these are so sweet! :goodvibes I just had to tell my story too!!

Like Hayley, DF and I are also both into cars (DF is into them way more than I am however). I was on the West Coast attending a summer college program for HS students at Stanford when one of my good friends for many years told me that I should be introduced to one of his good friends because he was also into cars (this good friend was definitely not and probably got tired of me talking about them with him! Trying to pass me off to someone else!) In any case, I had my heart set on someone else at the time and DF was a bit older than me (I was 17, he was turning 21), but I told my friend I'd send his friend an email. So DF and I became friends through emails here and there and we realized that we had more in common than just cars. Conversation with him was just so easy!

While I was out at Stanford, I also went to look at other colleges in the Bay Area and fell in love with Santa Clara University (where my friend went and also the DF ironically!), so when it came time to apply, SCU was one of my top choices. Little did I know at the time, after getting to know me for a while, DF wrote a letter to the admissions committee telling them how he knew I just belonged at the school and knew I would make a major difference on the campus. Isn't that sweet?!?! Needless to say, once I was accepted, I put down my deposit, and was on my way to SCU!

DF and I had our first date on the evening of preview weekend. He picked me up in his Camaro and we drove from Santa Clara down to Monterey and had dinner at Bubba Gumps (it was definitely a fun choice in restaurants!) I remember being a bit nervous and since he did not at hold my hand or hug me at all before or after dinner, I only assumed he did not like me!! That was just silly because on our way back to Santa Clara, he held my hand the whole way (and even didn't let go in order to change the gear as he came to a stop (the Camaro was a manual)) :goodvibes Then we stopped off to see his new house that he had just purchased, and it was in the kitchen by the refrigerator that we shared our first kiss! We started “officially” dating that Fall during the start of my Freshman year and we've been together ever since (4 and 1/2 years now!)... once I graduated from SCU in June 2006, DF proposed in Disneyland!!! :cloud9:

That spot in our kitchen will always have a special place in my heart! :rotfl:

These are GREAT STORIES!!!!
DAKLNiddy- I was in the International Management program in 2001-2002 did you live at Vista way?

DF and I met working for the mouse as well! I was the Canadian girl learning all the front office positions at the resorts. He was working at the Resort and one day when my training first started he walked outside and I knew he was going to be trouble! He had seen a ton of people come and go in the CP and so trying to be all sauve he started to speak in Spanish not knowing that I am fluent in Spanish and 5 other languages. Much to his surprise I answered him and from then we were chatting all the time! Next thing I knew our first date was at Bongos and the rest is history! We have been together officially 6years this June. I had to come home to finish my degree and he works in FLA still. We see eachother once a month either me going there or him coming here. It's hard sometimes but I am so excited in almost one year we will be together forever!

I love all of these stories - so nice to see how people met and fell in love!

We're not "DF" anymore but we were once! I met DH through my BFF. She used to date his BFF and had met DH a few times. In April 2004 she threw a big party to celebrate her divorce - yes, I met my husband at a divorce party :rotfl: Anyway, she invited everyone she knew and I was just sitting there, catching up with some folks I hadn't seen in a long time, and she walked up and introduced him to everyone. I saw those gorgeous blue eyes and knew I had to talk to him! Finally, we were both not talking to anyone else and we sat down and talked all night. It was so comfortable right from the beginning. We had stuff in common, drove the same car even, and just had tons to talk about. Our first date was 2 days later and then, since we lived 2 hours apart our entire courtship, we saw each other every weekend and were on the phone 2+ hours every night. About a month after we met, on our second weekend together, he took me to Disney and we stayed at Caribbean Beach. Right then, I knew

9 months later he proposed and 9 months after that we had our DFTW :cloud9: We've been together 3 years now, married 1.5 years and very, very happy!!

I met DF during a show I was doing for the Broward summer children's theatre. I was in the show and his sister was our carpenter. he came to the set one day and I thought he was a cute "kid"...because he had looked so young (he was 24, lol). Two months later, the fall semester at school started and he was in one of my acting classes. I was 6 months pregnant at the time with my surrogate daughter and really thought nothing of a relationship but always thought he was cute and just sweet as can be. He and I became really close throughout the semester and we worked on several projects together. By the time I had the baby we were hanging out a lot. He took me out for a drink one night and confessed he thought I was beautiful from the very first time he saw me on stage that summer. We continued to "hang out" for a while after that until one day I couldn't hold back anymore and we kissed. I've never been happier...not only am I going to marry the man of my dreams, I'm also going to marry my best friend!!

Funny I moved NY to Texas to be with my DF! And we were married at SBP :)

My DF and I met at Doc Cheys (the restaurant he worked in.) My friends and I used to go there almost every week for lunch. We had noticed this really cute and VERY nice guy that served there. We would casually talk to him while we were there and after a few times, my friends were pushing me to give him my number. They were like he's really into you, blah blah. But of course I did not believe them at all. Plus I had sworn off men so I wasnt looking to date anyone. Although he was really cute but I was too scared to give him my number! Finally after a couple months and pressure from my friends and sister, I decided I would give him my number. Well we went there each week sometimes twice a week and he wasnt there! We even went in one time and walked right back out b/c he wasnt around. The other people working there probably thought we were stupid. At this point, I thought I'd missed my chance and I was sad about it. I almost gave up. Then one Saturday, June 10, 2006 to be exact ;) I decided to go in to get take out. When I walked in, there he was! He smiled when he saw me and walked right over. We talked and after about 2 min HE had asked for MY number!! It was great :) He's so adorable. We chatted and he said he'd call and then I left. He called a couple days later and after our first date I knew he was special. We moved in together in Sept of 2006 and were engaged December 14, 2006! It's been a quick ride but I know he's the one :) Our wedding is less than a year away and I cant wait to marry him!!

We're high school sweethearts. We have one of those old fashioned stories where we met at bandcamp :rolleyes2. I actually met his mother first through the high school pageant I was in for four years. I didn't know that both of them were attached to each other until my senior year when I won. I was a senior and he was a sophmore. I actually drove a hour to college for two years so we could live in the same town until he graduated from high school. So, five years later...we're getting married in a little over three months and going on our Disneymoon!

I'm really glad that I met his mother before I met him. I do believe I'm one of the few that actually has a great relationship with my mother in law. She's a second mom to me after my mom passed away from cancer four years ago.

God really does have a plan for everyone!
