That is the grand total for my family to cruise on the December 2004 Christmas cruise.

We have 30 adults and 21 kids under 18, we would of needed 8 Cat 9. Staterooms, and 4 Cat. 4 staterooms. Unfortunately, I think that is way, way beyond my families means.

I am going to change it to the Dec 28th cruise, because it knocks a couple thousand per stateroom off, and the kids will miss less school. Also, I think I am going to also go with the Catagory 10 staterooms.

For just myself, dh and 3 kids to travel in a Cat 4 in October, I was quoted a price of a little over $5000. They same reservation for the Christmas cruise bumped it to $14,819.25 and the December 28th cruise will cost $12,000 something. What a price jump, huh?

Wow, that's amazing! And I thought our annual Disneyland Christmas trip was bad enough (compared to the fall prices). I love Disney at the holidays, but that is just not worth it! Too sad.

yeah it is way too overpriced for us! Michelle gave me a quote, DH had said this morning that we could do it if it came in around 6,000.00 well it was $7940.00 so we sure are not going.

while i would love to go, all i can say is OUCH about the price.........We would need 2 cat 10s 1 ad 2 kids in each 10k!



For that we could just do a back to back off season and get 14 days, and still it would be cheaper!

I know, these prices are CRAZY!! We are going to stay on the 10/30/04 sailing. We were thinking of switching, and Dreams e-mailed me with my quote this afternoon. $7200 for a category 9!!! On my 10/30/04 sailing, we're paying $3800 for a category 6. I wish we could go, it's going to be a GREAT trip, but we like to travel too much. This one cruise would eat up our entire vacation budget for the year. We like to go away about 3 times per year, so I'll stay with my cheaper sailing!!!

I did not even bother getting a quote. When I found out it was sailing the 18th, I could not even attempt to ask for that week off!

At those prices, I will wait until 2005 and really hope they have such an awesome itinerary!

Maybe Disney did me a favour by not having the time fit my scheduled time off!

I got a quote this a.m. for DW and myself with DS (8) in a Cat. 8 --we always have done Cat. 8 on Deck 7 and love it--and the 10 day direct from DCL was a tidy $7,047, though I would knock off the expensive DCL trip insurance and get that from AAA to save a couple hundred, and by then I'll have, oh Gosh, maybe 200 Disney Dollars from the Disney VISA card (Charter Cardmember!), but still, compared to about $2,900 for the Eastern on in October or November (off-peak) or even $4100 or so for Thanksgiving '04 (Western), just can't cough it up--and besides, so hard to find someone to house-sit my DDogs during a peak week.

Now, if I had matched all 6 numbers in the Mega Millions last Friday....

But the best part is that I never would have known about any of this except for the DIS Boards and all the wonderful info from Webmaster Michelle and the rest. Happened to click on last night and read about today's big doings. Oh, and was looking into the possibility of NCL new all Hawaii 7 day in '04 (no Fanning Island detour thanks to the new law they got passed), but the comparable oceanview room was something like 160 square feet compared to 214 and a split bathroom in a Cat. 8. Too snug for my DFamily of three for a week.

Hi Disney1fan2002- Wow, some family outing you have going there! I recently booked my cruise through All Seasons and saved about 610.00 compared to the next cheapest. I looked up your dates( Dec. 28, 2004) on their site and found your price would be 9624.00, several thousand less it seems. You might want to go to their site and try all your dates for price comparison, and even give them a call for some group rate pricing. Good luck with your pricing.

We have always wanted to see the ship when it is decorated for the holidays. We booked the Dec. 19, 2004 cruise. It is a 4 night cruise and disembarks on Dec. 23rd. It is considered a value season cruise (even though it is the week of Christmas).

If you want to save a LOT of money and still see the ship over the holidays, check out this cruise.

Yes, sail off peak! Yes, the kids are in school - but hey, this is educational - as much as that field trip to the zoo or a museum is!

I got quote - for a cat 6, we could take three off seasons in cat 6 for same price - think I'll stick with what I've got!

And I thought it was just "car shopping" that bowled me over!

51 people /130,000 works out to $2,564 per person.
10 days / that's about $256 per person per day.

On the other hand, we're paying about $100/person/day for our November 2nd cruise.

Yep, that's expensive.

I am afraid Disney isn't alone in their "ghastly" pricing over peak holiday travel. I live in Seattle area and do travel packages for families traveling to Hawaii over the peak seasons and the air is always jacked up. Unfortunately Hawaii at Christmas time is a HUGE thing here and people pay at least double for air. The market is there otherwise they would not be able to get by with the $ they charge . I have never seen the cruise ships decorated at the Christmas season but have been to Disneyland during that time and I can tell you it is awesome .
