13 Year old gir declared brain dead has now officially died

Saw this on the Doc B site that I referenced above...I can't post the actual name of the blog because it contains a non-Dis friendly term. Anyway, this purports to be from a "cousin" of Jahi. Who knows, really?

Y'all guess wut, she my cousin and I see first hand how ****ed up she look before she left CHD, her skin got a gray kinda look but she still warm, she sticky as ****, I could smell her bad breath kinda smell like old chicken, and her nose leaking ****. What's the **** coming out her nose? I'm her cousin, no ******** I think Tasha goin too far but whateva. Who want the tea? I'll keep y'all posted if u want me to

The way it is written makes me think it's legit, but again, I don't vouch for it.

I have a question for the medical/legal professionals on this board. I can't decide if this family is cucoo for coco puffs or crazy like a fox, however they apparently moved her to a facility, might even be here in NY , if rather when the heart finally gives out and it goes into cardiac arrest, these people (the family, this new beginings facility) seem to be nutty enough to try and revive her again, now if they should call an ambulance are the medics required to work on a dead body? Would a hospital be required to code a dead person?

I can see this happening and wonder what would be mandated.

It didn't quote the quote - darn. But that smell likely isn't her breath, it's the smell of death. It's the smell of the body giving out. I was with my grandmother when she passed (and since they removed her feeding tube days earlier) - the smell in the room definitely changed. Sorry to be so morbid.

If it's legit, what he's saying is so sad. How can the rest of these people so be blind to the obvious?

This has gone so far beyond anything I could have ever imagined, but I have to wonder what on earth the original judge that started this whole mess is thinking now. I mean, how can he see the disaster he created by allowing this from the get go, and still get up and go be a judge every day. I wonder if his colleagues are all looking at him like he is a complete *******

Also, seeing that crazy uncle's twitter feed last night after the body was released left no room for interpretation about his addiction to the notoriety he is getting. It was sickening the way he bragged telling Jahi her uncle was "a beast". What a scumbag :sad2:

I don't understand how a family is allowed to just pick up a dead body from the coroner and take it home (or where ever else that is not a funeral home) which is in essence what they did?? I've read stories in the news of people who passed away of natural causes at home and their relatives didn't call anyone and they are being arrested for it. Doesn't this violate laws about how a dead body can be treated?

I can understand that they maybe they didn't have to find a certified "medical" facility because she is dead , and doesn't need medical treatment (so maybe they could go to the place in NY?) but don't they still have to take her somewhere that is certified to deal with a dead body?

This all just seems like a macabre Edgar Allen Poe story.

Somehow I really doubt that is legit. Sounds like the work of a nasty troll trying to :stir:

I have been reading along - this is like a train wreck! My question is this, at what point would there be a health risk to those around the body?

I've read enough of the laws on treating a dead body. I suppose if this isn't how they specifically intent to inter the body, they'll be OK with regards to the law on the storage of dead bodies.

She's already been declared dead. It seems a lot different than failure to report a death. Since the Alameda County Coroner's office is involved, I doubt the DA is interested in prosecuting for any kind of violations.

What absolutely amazes me about this whole thing is that it doesn't appear ANYONE in this family cares to show any sort of decency for this poor little girl.

I was actually talking with my husband and family today about this. I will be the first to admit that I am absolutely HORRIBLE when it comes to death. I don't deal well with it at all...and I can totally see myself (for at least a short time) attempting to convince myself (as this family has) that some miracle could occur and want to keep any one of my kids "alive" as this family is doing.

However, I can tell you with 100% certainty that not only my husband, but my mother and father and immediate family would NEVER allow such nonsense to carry on.

My husband said tonight - we could potentially end up divorced over it, but I would PHYSICALLY remove you from the hospital and do whatever I had to do to make that final call and ensure our children die in peace and with the respect they deserve. My mother and father both said the same thing...they'd never EVER let me let my grief and selfishness of facing the truth overcome my children's dignity.

Like my husband said "I would rather you blame ME for being the reason our daughter "died" than to put any of our children through the hell this family is because they simply can't fathom the idea that she's truly passed."

God, it makes me sick just thinking of being in their position...however thankfully regardless of what I may (in my darkest moments) WANT to do...I have sensible people who also care for my children who would step in and deal with it in a dignified way.

I hope I don't sound morbid or psycho when I say that...I know I would NEVER let it go on this long, but in the short run I can see fighting to believe my children weren't really gone.

:(

Yes. It's the smell of organ failure and the stickiness of her skin is likely to be from kidney failure. Basically her body is rotting now. It's about to get pretty nastly. I really hope they see the light soon and let this baby pass.

The head of Critical Care at CHO subitted a declaration that was supposed to be introducted in US district court tomorrow. That was supposed to be the family's attempt to compel CHO to insert trachesotomy and GI tubes.

Since there's no cough reflex, they've had to manually clear out the throat, and it's turning funky colors with an apparently objectionable odor. This is going to get really nasty in a few days. I think the best chance they had of keeping the body in decent shape was these medical professionals being compelled to keep the body on the ventilator and providing all these services.

Ok, I'm just not finding the blog even typing in that word. I don't know what I'm not understanding so, could I have the link in a PM too, please?

The saddest thing of all is that the mother is now going to start seeing her child's body look in a manner that a mother shouldn't have to look at. :sad1: I wish that she would realize and stop all this before this poor baby's physical appearance become very disturbing (if it hasn't already) and her mother sees things that she will not be able to un-see.
It would be so much better for the mother if her last visions of her daughter were not in a decomposing state. I do think the mother is delusional, but I cannot imagine seeing what she probably will be seeing very soon. I wish she would spare herself that agony.
