This family is committing fraud at this point. I have been very sympathetic to the family, but they have a death certificate of their daughter now. They see her decaying before their eyes, yet they have not taken down their fundraising page and continue to give out misinformation about their daughter's condition. No one knows for sure where she is. Home? At some facility? I really doubt she has a feed tube and trach, yet the news outlets declare it as fact. I wouldn't be surprised to find out her heart gave out days ago. When does this circus become a crime?

How many kids/classmates are now in distrust of the medical establishment or being brainwashed into being? That is what one tragedy coming out of this I think. Oh, the dr's said this but they lied about Jahi so they must be lying now. Or yes Johnny you will be ok. Well you told Jahi that too!!! Kids need support when it comes to doctors and medical procedures etc not more fear.

I had seen Doc B****** on Twitter and said to him that I felt like this is now a hoax. Once they left the hospital, it evolved into that, at least for the uncle and lawyer. Mom, siblings, and other relatives could be doing their own thing, while the other two carry on with their own agenda. He said he had thought the same.

And the children at the school- i have no words. It reminded me of when one of the young teachers in my kids' school died of cancer. A letter was sent home asking the parents to address it and that it would not be addressed in the school ( assembly announcement). Kids could ask questions of course and see councilors. One of the kids came in and said she died in a car accident. Of course, the other kids had been told the truth. Poor kid couldn't even hear the truth from a parent he trusted. That is what is going on here on a school-wide level.

I keep thinking she must have passed on already. I can't Imagine they are keeping her body going in another facility at the same level as the hospital. I am very curious if we will ever hear the truth if and when she "dies" according to the family. I just have this creepy gut feeling that she has passed already and they are up to no good now.

Unfortunately, I agree. That's why I think the police and court system need to step in at this point.

I think most people understood what I was saying,and I understand she is legally and clinically already dead, but let me rephrase to be more clear. I suspect her heart has already stopped beating, and her family is keeping it secret. I just have a gut feeling that something even more bizarre is going on here. And I think it has to do with money.

Yes, and this is out of character for them. Something is up.

Wikipedia has a list of similar cases. The closest parallel was Mordechai Dov Brody. The family was from Brooklyn, but the treatment was at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

He was being treated for a brain tumor, went into a persistent vegetative state, and then finally was declared brain dead. The family were Hasidic Jews and they cited that their religious beliefs were that death occurred once the heart stopped.

They were ready to duke it out in court, but apparently the heart gave out just shy of two weeks of the brain death diagnosis.

I think part of the problem Children's Hospital Oakland had is that they were very successful providing care to a corpse. I've noted that they are very good at what they do. I only wish that these efforts could have been used to give actual life-sustaining care.

You know I thought it was odd at the time, but didn't think all into it when he was last hospitalized then he was critical, then he went home still critical. But I was thinking more of hospice care perhaps.
