I thought I would find it on iTunes, but I didn't. I ordered the paperback from Amazon instead.
I've only read through the first page of your report but you go girl!!! I wish you all the best! I might just be get my butt off the couch and train for the Princess Half Marathon in 2012, the year I turn 40!! (I too was one of the gym rejects and remember the 10 minute "run" that I walked every time.) GOOD LUCK!!
I think realistic expectations are so important, and I'm glad that you're enthusiastic about your new method of training. There's no sense in trying to overdo it and frustrating yourself.
I can't get over that water bottle with the filter in it! That is awesome! Do they sell replacement filters or how does that work? That would be so handy to have around in general, and imagine refilling it in the parks.![]()
Thanks. I think the new plan is going to work out better for me right now. Ideally I'd like to keep training, and then if I can manage it do the Princess in February with more running. I just know I'd be happier with walking breaks, and I'll be better off in the end.
Isn't the water bottle great? They do sell replacement filters too. I think they are about $6.95 each. They had those at Pennys too. I'm loving it so far. I always keep two Brita water pitchers in my fridge at home, so having one to take with me is very convient. I think they recomend changing it every 2 months or so. One filter is supposed to be equivalent to approx. 300 bottles of water.
They sell them on the Bobble website, as well as give you a list of who is selling them. JC Penneys was the closest place to me. The one tiny complaint I have about the bottle is that it doesn't quite fit into the cup holder in my car. The base is a tad too fat. If I remove the liner from the cup holder it fits fine, but that's just a minor complaint.
Wings....have you looked into where the characters will be along the road course for the race? (if it's even available) My thinking was if you timed you walk portions to be during the character sections that would be nicer then haven't to run thru them and not get any pictures or such.
You are sounding like you are in a "much better place" now, Crissy!! I really hope so!! You're new training schedule/plan looks great, and I'm particularly interested in your new gadget. I'm not overly thrilled with the music on the C25K podcasts, and would love to listen to something else when running. Something like you got, may be just the ticket!
I so wish I could run the Wine and Dine with you!!
So I go with Mary. Now I'm a big fan of taking everday clothes and making them be a costume. What I mean is, you don't have to get a dress....you could get a white skirt and apply the red ribbons to it. You don't have to wear the lacing up boots, you could get white strappy sandles. Red ribbon for a "belt", white top and you will need a hat that ties with white tulle. But I also think you could make the dress easy enough if you just modify the top a little bit.
I love the Giselle idea, but I must admit that even though I really liked the film, I wouldn't recognize who you are if you were wearing that costume.![]()
Another one for #2. Most recognizable, HOWEVER, you probably wont' be the only Mary there.
I think the problem with #1 and #3 is that they would need to be part of a larger group to be recognizable. Although I love Giselle's dress, and would love wearing that, it would be nice and cool, that's for sure.
But I'm with Heidi on how to piece together the Mary costume, it should be pretty easy and I love the Jolly Holiday outfit.![]()
I'm going against the grain & voting for the redhead. If you could make the dress in a lighter material, it might not be too hot. All 3 choices are great ideas, though! I'm still undecided on a costume, too.![]()
