$125 for new Princess Character Breakfast

Well... it might be if you were hungover and feeling very spendy. Again, this menu just makes no sense for the context. It doesn't seem to say "breakfast" or "princess." In 3 pages of posts, no one has said this menu appeals to them. What was Disney trying to base this on? Bizarre...

It's funny, when someone first posted about the menu not appealing, my initial thought was that maybe they were specifically trying to attract international visitors - my understanding is that Americans tend to be unique in liking sweet breakfast foods as much as we do, and I know lots of other cultures go much more savory for breakfast. But then I actually looked at what was listed... and this isn't just savory! It's straight up dinner food! In all my travels I don't think I've ever seen anyone eat mac and cheese or short ribs for breakfast!!!

This is one splurge I just can’t wrap my head around. At that price I can’t justify the experience just to meet the princesses. Such a bummer. We loved Ariel’s Grotto when we went a few years ago and I’d hoped they’d find something similar to bring back. This is just too much and I love a really special splurge every now and again.

As ticket prices increase I’d really love to see Disney make an effort to make some of the add ons a little more affordable, not more extravagant. I get that some people can and will pay this, but things like this are not really feasible for most families.

No, Americans are not that unique. Most Germans prefer sweet as well, but then again I guess Germany is not the target audience either. ;)

That price is steep..

But Disney knows I’ll pay it.. so whatever.
*sigh* .... #truth

I have no kids so this has no appeal to me but if I had a kid/s of princess loving age I can see myself trying to come up with the spending money for it.

I am really, REALLY confused by the menu!!! The starters kind of make sense but mac and cheese for breakfast!? Shephard's Pie? Beef sliders? Roasted root vegatables?!? I eat none of these things before noon.

PS I totally had to goggle "ketchup cavier" it's not what I thought.
The menu turns my stomach tbh. I'm SO coffee and a pastry in the morning. Eggs and bacon are fine if we're talking brunch. Sheperd's Pie, Slow Braised Short Ribs and Pork Belly... yeah no, those are never going to fly with me at breakfast, that reads like a mistake menu!

There are times available to book on March 28, 29, & 30. Do we think they are starting earlier than posted on site of 3/30?

I do "splurges," but this one doesn't appeal because to me the atmosphere in NP isn't really a "home" for the Princesses. It's different at WDW where they have dinners in the castle, or teas at the Grand Floridian, which feels so "Princessy." Atmosphere is everything to me at Disney resorts. I will pass on this offering.

This is just downright ridiculous on so many levels.

First of all, that price is completely ludicrous for the type food being served. I don't care how many princesses walk around posing. You can go to NR at dinner time, order a couple cocktails, an app, entree, and dessert, tip generously, and come in around $125/person, and the food quality and presentation is amazing. This price for breakfast, and for kids especially, is an insult.

Second, what the heck kind of menu is that for breakfast???? It honestly really does seem like they just wanted to try and create a menu based on the foods they already order for dinner service. Short ribs and pork belly? Mac and cheese? Bangers and fried chicken???

Finally, does Disney REALLY think people care about the princesses THAT much? Like, seriously. You can meet them for free in the park. These aren't actual celebrities. I would expect actual celebrities at the restaurant for this price. And some unlimited mimosas, at least.

No way is our family doing this character meal. That is more per person than we paid at Club 33 for lunch a year and a half ago...and that was, by far, THE best meal I've ever had in a restaurant. Insane. Besides, I'm not interested in eating dinner at 8:00 in the morning.

I'm not sure what sort clientele they are targeting with this, but it certainly isn't me!

That's more for 1 meal for 1 person than a 1-day 1-park value day ticket to DL.

Okay so reading the Disney blog it does provides a little more context but I think everyone has covered it.

They name 6 princesses specifically in the various descriptions (but of course it's not guaranteed) - Belle, Tiana, Ariel, Jasmine, Rapunzel and Mulan. I am guessing 6-8 princesses total now.
At the end of the day, we still need a regular princess meal, available 7 days a week in the 40 dollar price range.

Maybe it's not targeted to kids at all. Maybe it's for those who've always secretly dreamed of being royalty and are willing to indulge that fantasy.

I called a few minutes ago to get more clarification. The CM said they were just notified today of the new princess meal so they didn’t have much details. She did say that it’s a 3 course breakfast buffet. She isn’t sure which princesses are guaranteed to be there, but I’m assuming the ones mentioned in the blog post will come.

If my BFF and I do it, looks like we will be the guinea pigs lol. We already made a reservation for March 30, but will cancel if we change our minds.

My only thought is that that's an aweful lot of money. When I first saw the headline about it on my feed earlier today, I was excited, but at $125 per person, there's no way my family of 6 will do it. I'm sure plenty of people will though.

My friend and I are insane and are somehow contemplating going to this...our birthdays are a month a part so we are thinking this could be a cool new thing to try...

We are wondering would we look weird going without kids lol

You're not insane. If this is appealing to you and it's something you want to spend money on, do it.
