Hello. Just started following along. Looks like y'all had an awesome vacation. I'm staying on property for the first time in July (POR). I loves seeing the pictures of the grounds and resort. Can't wait to read more posts!
Hey Alan!
Joining in on your TR. I love all of the food updates though! I have been going to Disney since I was less then 3 months every year, but we never really dine in the sit down restaurants, minus the time we had the dining plan in 2010 and did mostly buffets.
Looks like you guys are having a great time! Every day is always jam packed with memories and best of all fun and laughter! Cannot wait to see what's next.
I gotta admit Alan, I kinda like that the 2 adults went off to Typhoon Lagoon while the kids slept.
Haha, I made one attempt at DTD is December, but the parking was attrocious with the construction, so I passed.
T-REX is definitely on my short list even though I'm not a sit in meal type in Disney. I've never been in, but it just looks so cool from the pics I've seen. I'm kinda liking the look of that Steak and Cheese sandwich.
I was thinking that the quesadilla could be my meal, and I'd be stuffed after eating it!! Funny you said just that...we are definitely doing this on our next trip...our son will be 6, and he will love it!! I'll he all set with quesadilla and that dessert hahaha![]()
Love your TR so far!
I totally agree with you on the school bread. It was hard and gross and definitely tasted stale.
I love that your daughter texted you in the same room! That cracks me up!
Sounds like a great trip! Can't wait for the rest
That's disappointing about your steaks. At least your appetizers and desserts were good.
Great job with the food pics! I think I've gained five pounds just reading your trip report!!!
When I got to the main building I followed the sounds of the music to the River Roost and got to see Yeehaw Bob doing his thing! (sorry for the poor quality of the pictures):
The place was packed with men, women, and children. Definitely a family-friendly environment. I ordered a drink, then found a spot to stand and just enjoy this amazing entertainer doing his thing!
A note to those who are not staying at POR: want to have a fun evening? Take the boat from DTD to POR on a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night and check out Yeehaw Bob....he's hilarious! And an absolute PRO at entertaining.
He was about to take a break, but before he did we all had to do the "YMCA"!
...and to think that I almost went to bed and missed this! I hope to have another Disney World trip in the near future, and I hope to stay at Port Orleans Riverside, and I hope to carve out an evening to just sit and enjoy this brilliant entertainer.
But alas, I was tired and ready for bed so I made my way back to my room and called it a night.
What a great day it had been! Now it was time to get some sleep and get ready for Day 3 which was going to be epic!
