1200 pics, 1100 miles, 15 deluxe dining meals, 1 great time at POR *Completed 9/5*

It was about 2:20pm on Sunday afternoon, June 1. As we walked towards Adventureland the afternoon shower stopped.

We had Fastpasses for Splash Mountain at 2:45pm. The posted standby line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was 20 minutes, so we got in line and rode.

Then it was on to Splash Mountain for our Fastpass:

Weeeeeeeeee!!!!

After Splash Mountain we decided to make our way back over to Tomorrowland. According to the MDE app on my phone, Space Mountain was back up and running.

We made our way over and, because the ride was down earlier, the Fastpass line was really long. Since our Fastpass was good for the entire day, we decided to save it until later.

Another little rain shower came up and we decided to head back to POR for an afternoon break/nap. We all four took a nice nap...because we were preparing ourselves for the 3am closing!

Coming up next: we head to dinner at Narcoossee's

Looks like it was quite a downpour you ran into!

Great Splash Mountain photo! I see what you mean about your son. That takes some doing to remain stoic on SM!

Looking forward to hearing about Narcoossee's.

My husband and I are staying at POR for the first time in December. Your honest reviews and plethora of pictures is very helpful! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Hahahaha! Yes, stoic was the exact word we kept using every time we would see one of his ride photos. Mr. Cool until the bitter end! Narcoossees review and pictures coming up.

Thanks very much! And welcome to the trip report! Now I wish I would've named my trip report "A Plethora of Port Orleans pics!"

Lots of great updates!!

Thanks Mary! I'm enjoying yours and Kathy's report also! Hope all is well with you and your family my friend!

It was about 4:00pm on Sunday, June 1 when we got back to our room at Port Orleans Riverside. We had a nice afternoon at the Magic Kingdom but we were ready for a nap. We had a 7:35pm dinner reservation at Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian so we had plenty of time.

After a much needed nap, we got ready for dinner and made our way to the East bus stop at POR. The original plan was to take the bus back to MK, then hop on the boat to the Grand Floridian. However, within just a few minutes an Epcot bus pulled up. I decided we should take it and hop on the monorail.

We got to Epcot and awaited the monorail:

We waited for about 10 minutes and then the monorail arrived:

We arrived at the Grand Floridian and walked from the main building across the grounds to Narcoossee's. The Grand Floridian is such a beautiful resort!

We checked in about 7:20pm and were given a buzzer. We waited outside on the deck overlooking Seven Seas Lagoon.

Within five minutes our buzzer went off and we were seated.

Coming up next: Dinner at Narcoossee's

It was 7:30pm on Sunday, June 1 and we were excited about our dinner at Narcoossee's, the first of three signature dinners we would have. Narcoossee's is DS's very favorite restaurant in all of Disney World! Unlike earlier in the day, we were all starving and ready for this meal! Our server was Nelson and he was very good. He brought us our water and our menus:

DW had the white wine flight:

She enjoyed all three!

I had the Mojito:

It was excellent! In fact, I ordered a second one after finishing the first one.

Nelson also brought fresh baked bread with butter with sea salt:

For an appetizer, DW and DD both ordered the Artisanal Cheeses:

They were soooo good! DW loved all of them. DD enjoyed about half of them and the other half she didn't care for.

I ordered the BBQ Shrimp & Grits:

I was curious to see how this dish would be. I love New Orleans style BBQ shrimp and I love shrimp and grits, so I was interested in seeing if this dish would live up to my expectations. I'm happy to report that it absolutely did! It wasn't a huge portion, but it was an appetizer. A larger portion would've easily been an entree. I ate every bite!

DS ordered the Maine Lobster Bisque:

He LOVED it! He made DW and I try a bite and it was indeed very good. He ate every bite of it.

For our entrees, we made it easy for Nelson. We all knew exactly what we wanted and the exact reason we came to Narcoossee's. We ordered four 2-pound Steamed Maine Lobsters:

These four lobsters did not perish in vain! We devoured them! They were cooked perfectly and tasted so good dipped in the mouth-watering drawn butter. We felt like royalty!

For dessert, I had the Artisanal Cheeses.

DW, DS, and DD all ordered the Narcoossee's Candy Bar:

Deliciously decadent!

We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Narcoossee's and I can honestly say that we all left very happy. This dinner is definitely worthy of its "signature" status and worth the 2TS on the dining plan.

Grade: A

After dinner, we strolled out to the deck to just enjoy the moment:

It was 9:00pm and we watched the Electrical Water Pageant:

What a wonderful evening! We were well rested from the earlier nap, had a fantastic meal at Narcoossee's, relaxed and enjoyed the Electrical Water Pageant...now it was time to catch the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom for some Extra Magic Hours fun!

Absolutely loving your review so far. It's so nice to see so many great pics of Port Orleans. We've stayed at BC and WL our last three trips and were going to try PO for our next trip. It's looks great.

We had the same situation happen with us at Raglan Road. We were looking forward to getting that app to share and they said no. When we spoke with the mgr, she said we'd have to give up all our app credits. We didn't even really like the food, but that bread pudding was probably the best dessert of all times.

Looking forward to reading more :)

Narcoossees is at the top of my list of places I'd like to try! Everything looks wonderful! Keep the updates coming :)

Narcoossees is in our August plans. DH and I are leaving the kids with their grandparents at Chef Mickey's while we enjoy a night of fine dining. Your food looks and sounds delicious! Can't wait to try it myself :)

Cute picture of you guys on Splash Mountain. You can tell you were enjoying yourself. ;)

The bread that was served with your cheeses looks like the rolls that we were served at the Grand Floridian Cafe only our's weren't sliced. The shrimp and grits looks like those that John ordered for his entree too. I've always wondered if we would like Narcoossee's and after seeing your pictures, I'm betting that we would.

Thank you very much! I hope you will enjoy Port Orleans as much as we did.

Well I'm glad to know it wasn't just us on the appetizer at Raglan Road. If I would've know that I probably would not have scheduled Raglan Road on this trip. But I do love that place. The bread pudding makes up for everything!

This was our 3rd time to eat at Narcoossee's and it hasn't disappointed us yet.

Oooh that sounds like a brilliant idea! That will be a very nice getaway for you and DH. Hope y'all like it as much as we did. I forgot to mention how wonderful the view is also.

Me? Enjoying myself? Nah!!! :rotfl2: Um, yep....I told you I was the biggest kid in our family!

The shrimp and grits were VERY good...and I'm a bit of a shrimp and grits snob. :snooty: They were actually better than I expected them to be. Oh, and did I mention the lobster? All three times I've eaten at Narcoossee's I've gotten the lobster. SO GOOD!

Did you all like the Grand Floridian Cafe? We've had that one on our "maybe" list for awhile.

We have eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe three, maybe four times, and have liked it each time. Our meal during our latest trip was the absolutely best. We all were extremely pleased with our selections and waddled out and to the Magic Kingdom for some evening fun. If I hd to rank our meals during our two week stay, I'd say that Grand Floridian Cafe was in the top 3.

OH MY GOODNESS! That looks sooooo gooood! I love lobster, shrimp & grits, & chocolate. I would love to take an adult only trip with the hubs to do the Food & Wine festival. We will be sure to put Narcooses on the list of restaurants to visit! Thanks for the detailed review!

Your meal at Narcoossee's looks fabulous! That's great that your kids will order lobster. I love when kids branch out beyond burgers and nuggets.

Narcooses looked fantastic! We have never ate anywhere at the GF but we hope to some day. Can't wait to hear about more adventures, we head out in 29 days for POR!

Oh wow! I'm putting Grand Floridian Cafe on my 'must-do' list for our next trip. We will definitely have to try that!

That's exactly what my DW and I are wanting to do: a trip for just the two of us during Food & Wine. Next year will be our 20th wedding anniversary, so that might be a great way to celebrate!

Narcoossee's is wonderful! If paying out of pocket it is VERY expensive, but I would have to say you get what you pay for. Excellent service, atmosphere, and, of course, food!

DS has always been an adventurous eater. DD not so much. This was the first time she had lobster and on many occasions on this trip she ordered out of her comfort zone....sometimes successfully, sometimes not. I remember when DS was probably 6 or 7 and my parents were keeping him for the weekend. They went out to eat and asked him where he would like to go. (Of course they were thinking McD, Taco Bell, etc.) He said, "Red Lobster!" :rotfl2: They got a huge kick out of that!

Wooohooo! Hope you all enjoy POR as much as we did! Have a wonderful and safe trip!

Indeed that would be a great title for the trip report of your NEXT stay at POR!

NEXT stay....I'm liking the sound of that! ;) The Port Orleans Plethora of Pictures Part II!

We also had a wonderful experience at Grand Floridian Café. The steaks were the best of our trip and the lemon dome dessert was awesome!

Alan, playing catch up again.

I had never heard of Mickey's Philharmagic having technical difficulties before; that's a first. The theater does look like it needs some tender loving care.

People Mover in the rain is a great way to get out of the storm. And you got some great pictures doing so.

Big Thunder and Splash! You can't beat those two back to back. I've got to get on Splash this year...it's been a few years since we've done it.

We've never done Narcoosee's; I'm so glad you all enjoyed your meal. Everything looks wonderful (although I don't eat lobster).

Looking forward to hearing about your EMH's. Cayley and I were there...I'm disappointed we didn't run into you.
