1200 pics, 1100 miles, 15 deluxe dining meals, 1 great time at POR *Completed 9/5*

We also had a wonderful experience at Grand Floridian Café. The steaks were the best of our trip and the lemon dome dessert was awesome!

Oh my gosh! I just went on allears to check out the menu and it looks great! Y'all have convinced me to put Grand Floridian Cafe on my must-do list for our next trip!

Alan, playing catch up again.

I had never heard of Mickey's Philharmagic having technical difficulties before; that's a first. The theater does look like it needs some tender loving care.

People Mover in the rain is a great way to get out of the storm. And you got some great pictures doing so.

Big Thunder and Splash! You can't beat those two back to back. I've got to get on Splash this year...it's been a few years since we've done it.

We've never done Narcoosee's; I'm so glad you all enjoyed your meal. Everything looks wonderful (although I don't eat lobster).

Looking forward to hearing about your EMH's. Cayley and I were there...I'm disappointed we didn't run into you.

Isn't that weird about Philharmagic having "technical difficulties"? Everyone in the holding room was starting to get impatient when finally Goofy came on the loudspeaker and said the theatre doors would be opening in five minutes. I'm glad we waited it out!

Ah, you gotta love the Peoplemover! This was June 1 and Peoplemover was scheduled for refurb starting the next day...so I made SURE we got to ride it on this day.

I sooooo love Splash Mt! It's probably my favorite ride at Magic Kingdom. I love all the music!

Narcoossee's was SO good! It was DS's favorite meal of the trip and probably second favorite for DW and me.

I didn't realize you were going to be at Magic Kingdom for the EMH! We weren't sure if we would be up for it, but after a great dinner and still having two Fastpasses left we decided to go for it! EMH update coming right up!

It was about 9:30pm on Sunday, June 1st when we arrived back at the Magic Kingdom.

Earlier we had a wonderful dinner at Narcoossee's, watched the Electrical Water Pageant, then hopped on a monorail back to the Magic Kingdom before Wishes was to begin at 10pm.

We still had two Fastpasses for anything in the park. We had all been greatly anticipating the opening of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in New Fantasyland. We made a bee line straight for that as soon as we were back inside the Magic Kingdom.

The posted standby time was still 90 minutes, but we scanned our MagicBands and walked right through the Fastpass line. Within 5-7 minutes we were on the ride!

We LOVED it! It was particularly awesome at night. Some of the views of the castles were great! The animatronics are the best at Disney World yet. And the way the ride vehicle swings out around curves makes it super smooth. It's not the big "thrill" of a Rock N Roller Coaster or anything, but it is 100% pure Magic Kingdom magic...a perfect new addition to Fantasyland.

As we got off Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Wishes was just beginning. We've seen Wishes before, but not from Fantasyland. Everything is so dark! And the fireworks are directly over you! We watched over our shoulders as we were walking towards Frontierland. By the time we arrived at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Wishes was over...and there was a small rain shower that only lasted a few minutes. The masses started leaving Magic Kingdom in droves! We walked on BTMRR in about 10 minutes. Afterwards, we went over to Splash Mountain. We still had one more Fastpass for anything in the park, but the standby line was only 10 minutes, so we didn't use the Fastpass. We were on in probably 5 minutes or so! (I didn't remember to get the ride photo this time.) After that, we rode BTMRR again. (Third time today!)

After that, DD and DW wanted to get back on BTMRR again (more on that in a minute), but DS wanted to ride Space Mountain since we didn't get to ride earlier in the day. So he and I headed to Tomorrowland and used our last Fastpass to walk right on Space Mountain.

The girls weren't far behind us. After riding BTMRR again they headed towards Tomorrowland and decided to ride Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. DD made a bet with DW: whoever scored the highest had to give the other person two of their snack credits for the trip! So the stakes were high! DD was victorious!

Next....what we had been waiting for...a less crowded Fantasyland! No strollers, no long waits in the heat....just a nice evening! It was a little more crowded than I thought it might be, but still....this is the way to go! I texted DW and they met us at the restrooms near Gaston's Tavern.

Then we rode Voyage of the Little Mermaid for the first time ever! This attraction was not here on our last trip to Disney World. What a neat little dark ride! DD and I loved it! DS...not so much.

It was about midnight and the park officially closed at 1am, with Extra Magic Hours until 3am. We walked back towards Seven Dwarfs Mine Train to see how long the wait was. Still 80 minutes at midnight! Just across the way, we saw that the wait for the Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh was only 15 minutes. This attraction was on my 'must-do' list for this trip....because, believe it or not, I had never ridden it! The standby line is always so long. Not this time. We got in line and were on within 15 minutes.

What a cute ride! I particularly liked the Heffalumps and Woozles part!

After that we walked towards Peter Pan's Flight. Still a 35 minute wait! So we passed it by and went to Haunted Mansion. 5 minute wait! Now that's what I'm talking about! So we did HM.

After that, we headed back to Frontierland and at this point the bulk of the people still in the park seemed to be in Fantasyland. We walked right on to BTMRR! Then walked right on to Splash Mountain.

This time I DID get a ride photo!

(I decided to ham it up a little for this photo!)

Just after we got off, it was 1am and they closed Splash Mountain, but Big Thunder Mountain would remain open for the Extra Magic Hours. DS was about ready to call it a day but DD was determined to stay until 3am! DS and I told the girls we would meet them back at the resort. We walked through Adventureland and was going to ride Pirates of the Caribbean but it was already closed. We rode Jungle Cruise just before it closed, then left the park.

Now...at this point I've got to tell you a story. One of my DD's favorite Disney World moments was back in 2009. It was a Magic Kingdom day and it just so happened to rain buckets on that day. Because of the heavy rains the crowd was the lowest I had ever seen. We all panchoed up and carried on. Anyway, on that trip DW and DD rode BTMRR 8 times! DD brags about that! NOW....fast forward to 2014...we had already ridden BTMRR four times on this day. DD and DW decided they wanted to break their record and ride it NINE times! (I think this picture was taken earlier, but I put it here for the sake of story telling.)

They celebrated by having a Dole Whip and Dole Float!

Then there was an unannounced late night "Celebrate the Magic" castle projection show!

They had a GREAT time and made some wonderful memories together!

Alas, it was finally time to call it a day.

This was one of my favorite Disney World days! I had an opportunity to spend time individually with DD with our morning pool time, with DW at POFQ for beignets, and with DS for lunch at Tony's Town Square. We all shared a wonderful dinner at Narcoossee's and we had a late night blast at the Magic Kingdom. We had accomplished a LOT for one day! All of us together had done Philharmagic, the Peoplemover, Splash Mountain three times, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad four times, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for the first time ever, Voyage of the Little Mermaid for the first time ever, the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh for the first time ever, and Haunted Mansion. In addition, DS and I had ridden Space Mountain and Jungle Cruise, while DW and DD did Buzz Lightyear, Philharmagic a second time, had Dole Whips, and accomplished their new record of riding BTMRR a total of nine times! Day 3 was just absolutely wonderful!

Coming up next: Day 4 is gonna be another great one!

Alan, another wonderful update.

Nice job on using that FP for the Mine Train. I'm with you...classic Disney and I loved it (I can't wait for Mark to experience it in September).

I can't believe you went on Splash at night; I'd be afraid to get too wet and be cold.

So fun that your DD and DW stuck it out after you guys left and broke their record for riding BTMR.

I wish Pirates HAD stayed closed. That's the night Cayley and I got stuck on it for an hour around 11:40. :crazy2:

I seriously wish we would have run into you.

Disney magic at its finest. What great memories made for you guys.

We've never made it all the way to 3am...yet, but EMH is great for getting rides done. Great for you guys.

popcorn:: can't wait for day 4!!!

Score of the Mine Train. 5-7 minute wait... yes please!! I can't wait to ride it. Actually, if I'm being honest, I'm most excited about NO CONSTRUCTION WALLS!!!!

Haha, I love the added stakes of Buzz. It makes it a little more fun I would think (especially if you win).

OMG the kid in the front of your Splash photo. Just wow!!!! I think he may know where the camera is.

Aww you didn't make it until 3am Alan. I'm very disappointed, lol. Good on the girls for sticking it out though. :thumbsup2

... And I think they may have witnessed the elusive "Kiss Goodnight" and not Celebrate The Magic. And that is something I have been trying to see for what feels like forever. So they should take some extra pride is sticking around because that made me incredibly jealous.

What a wonderful day you had! I love when I can spend individual time with family members.

Great idea using the FP for the Mine Train. I can't wait to ride that!

That kid in the front row!

That's cool that your wife and daughter broke their record on BTMRR. No better way to celebrate than with a Dole Whip!

Ok, I am all caught up and loving your TR! Sounds like a wonderful time! Can't wait to read more!

Thanks StitchsMomma! Day 4 is going to be a good one also!

Sounds like a perfect WDW day!!! I love it!

It really was. We didn't get the idea about doing the late night until about a week or two before the trip. On future trips I will definitely work our schedule out to do this. One of my favorite MK days ever!

Hi Kathy! :wave2: I think Mark will LOVE the Mine Train! It was just so neat to be right in the middle of Fantasyland...and riding a coaster! It just felt new and fresh!

Ahhhh Splash at night is wonderful! Plus it was still in the low 80s or high 70s so we never got cold....and we were already a bit wet from the rain anyway.

Yeah I tell ya DW and DD had a wonderful time that night! DS and I would've stayed longer but he was starting to not feel well and wanted to go back, so I offered to go with him since I knew DD wanted DW to ride BTMRR with her nine times!

Wow! That might explain why Pirates was closed. I figured it would be open for EMH, but it was closed up and dark in that area late that night. You and Cayley were stuck for an hour? Oh gosh! That's a LONG time!

Yeah we definitely made some great memories on that day! It was already day 3, but I really felt like it was the first time when we all had....FUN! Genuine Disney World fun! Loving the PM EMH! And Day 4 is gonna be another good one!

Hi Rob! :wave2: Gosh I know what you mean about having the walls down. Nothing puts a damper on the Disney magic like construction walls. And now that the ride is officially open it is really beautiful all around that area! The water falls, trees, and attention to detail....I am LOVING the new Fantasyland!

Yeah the stakes were high on that Buzz bet! But DD was confident she would be the victor....I think she scammed her mom out a couple of snack credits! :)

Hahahaha! You gotta love that kid on the front row of the Splash Mt pic!!! That was my favorite ride pic! Oh, and there will be another great one later on in the report also!

DS and I ALMOST made it, but he had not been feeling too great all day long and I didn't want him to have to take the bus back to POR by himself. I could've stay all night myself! Also, we were actually starting to get a little hungry and all of the food places were closed.

YES! The Kiss Goodnight! That's it! I had forgotten about that. Later in the trip we go back to MK and DD and I got to see it!

What a wonderful day you had! I love when I can spend individual time with family members.

That kid in the front row!

That's cool that your wife and daughter broke their record on BTMRR. No better way to celebrate than with a Dole Whip!

We had originally had a Fastpass for 7DMT at 3:55pm, but knowing that we had that FP for any attraction, we left the park earlier. Turns out that 7DMT was down during our original FP time, so we were issued another FP for any attraction! So we ended up with two anytime, any ride Fastpasses that day!

Hahahaha! I know! Gotta love that kid in the front row! He's hamming it up for the camera bigger than I am!

Riding BTMRR 9 times: Check! Dole whips to celebrate: Check! DW said the next morning that she regretted the late night Dole Whip because it kept her up all night! :) (but totally worth it!)

LOVE your nighttime castle pics :)

Thanks katriscari! This was the first time we've ever stayed late at MK and there's just such a great advantage to being there at that time. One of them is the beauty of the castle at night!

Sorry I am still stuck at the Dole Whip Pic!!! Nice photos Alan!

Thank you my friend! I have to admit I was a bit jealous that DW and DD had a Dole Whip before I did! Ashamed to admit it....but at this point I had never had one...ever! We would change that before the end of this trip!

We had planned to sleep late on Monday morning, June 2 after a very late night at the Magic Kingdom the night before. I woke up about 9:00am and DW was already up. I thought about rolling back over and going back to sleep....but we were at Disney World! I can sleep when I get back home! DS and DD were still wiped out from the previous day, but DW and I were up and ready to go do something.

We decided we would go to Typhoon Lagoon for a few hours. Just the two of us...while DS and DD got some rest.

We love this park! On this day it wasn't very crowded and the weather was perfect.

We found us a couple of chairs and set up camp. Then we went to one of our favorite attractions: Crush N Gusher!

After that, we decided to just relax in the lazy river

After one full circle around the park, we decided to go back to Crush N Gusher to ride again!

Even though we weren't there very long, we had a great morning!

The skies were looking like it might rain soon, so we decided to head on back to POR.

It was about noon when we got back. DS and DD were both up and getting ready to go out for lunch. DW and I got changed and ready as well. We had reservations for a late lunch at T-Rex at Downtown Disney. I was hesitant about driving to DTD due to all the construction, but we figured at this time of day on a Monday afternoon it wouldn't be that bad. We found a parking space just a short walk away.

Our reservation was for 1:45pm. We arrived about 1:15 and were seated within five minutes. We were seated in the Ice Age section:

Coming up next: Lunch at T-Rex

You are freakin' kidding me! We were at Typhoon Lagoon that day too! I can't believe that we were in the same place at the same time (several times) and didn't run into each other. I remember those cloudy/rain looking skies. We made sure that we did everything that we wanted at Typhoon Lagoon just in case they started closing things due to the weather.

I had not noticed your TR until today. I'm glad I found it. I love the male perspective. Your family seems very sweet and I love that you all genuinely enjoy spending time together. :thumbsup2

How nice that you and DW got some alone time at Typhoon Lagoon and do your favorite slide twice! Nice photopass pics of the two of you.

Always a good thing to let the younger ones get some rest as it seems to catch up to them more often than us older folk. ;)

We've never done T-Rex and looking forward to your review of it.

That's pretty funny that you and your wife went to Typhoon Lagoon while the kids slept in! I agree with you about you can sleep at home!

Haven't been to Typhoon Lagoon in quite awhile, but have always had such a great time there! Nice pictures of the two of you!

I think my 3 year old grandson would love T-Rex, so I'm interested to hear how you liked it.

Seriously? It's amazing that we have come so close to the same places at the same time! And we did the same thing....we made a bee line for the things we wanted to do most at TL. But I must say after a long Magic Kingdom day the lazy river was soooo relaxing! Had the whole family been there and the clouds looking like rain, I could have easily just spent the day there.

I had not noticed your TR until today. I'm glad I found it. I love the male perspective. Your family seems very sweet and I love that you all genuinely enjoy spending time together. :thumbsup2

Hello smickchic! So glad to have you along for the trip report! Yeah I love my family....they mean everything in the world to me!

Kathy, we LOVE Crush N Gusher! Slides are one thing, but this bad boy goes both down AND up! It's like a water coaster almost. You get some great "air" as you go over the humps. Excellent ride!

Thanks for the compliments on the photopass pics. We thought those would be fun!

DW and I got ourselves into good shape for Disney World. We were prepared and could outlast the young'uns!

T-Rex review up next!

I still had about 5 1/2 hours sleep, so I was good to go. But this was about the half way point of our vacation and I figured they needed their rest. Besides, this night would be another late night....just not quite AS late!

We LOVE Typhoon Lagoon! Thanks for the nice compliment!

Yes, I'll bet your grandson would love it....if he doesn't mind the loud noises. It gets really loud in there, but what a cool place! My review is coming up next.
